The service was horrible. The man behind the coffee machine has no patience at all. He is kind of racist to me as I was the only Asian solo traveller there. To think I’ve spend so much time to look for the cafe and I received such treatment. No next time. Food was good but not impressive at all. Just head to Cafe Lourve or Imperial in town for better experience.

Mind you, his English is great, and as I began placing my order to the girl, he kept interrupting and raising his voice at me for misunderstanding the cup sizes. They have a dessert display with no labels so good luck picking one to your liking let alone if you have any allergy concerns. I avoided asking the man to describe the desserts and just asked which is his best seller to avoid triggering him further. This question seemed to tick him off anyway as he proceeded to yell saying this is a very bad and stupid question as every day there is a different best seller. At this point he kept huffing and puffing and pacing back and forth pressuring me to order. To be honest, if it wasn't for my husband with me, I'd feel pretty unsafe. I completely understand Czechs being put off by rowdy and disrespectful tourists, which you'll most often find frequenting the old town, but I can assure you those who visit this quaint little coffee shop are peaceful, mild-mannered foreigners just looking for a good cup of coffee. If you are Czech, you will feel welcome here, as those who came in after me were greeted with a smile and friendly conversation.

We were clearly not from the country and I wonder if that affected how we were dealt with. Upon entering, my group was ignored for a while before having the misfortune of having to deal with a server who was arrogant and sarcastic. He made us feel dumb for the questions we were asking. When he brought our food over, he remarked that he was disappointed that we did not go with the coffee he had suggested, and said that we had instead ordered chai lattes “like little girls.” (We were a group of three guys).
