What a stunning place! And how sad, that it can't, apparently, live up to its own history and tradition. We came for breakfast. The place was almost empty and the elderly waiter was quick and friendly. The tiny Easter flower arrangements on all (!) the tables, however, had dry/ wilted flowers - a depressing view to behold. We ordered a Croissant with egg and cheese and an English Breakfast. All three sunny-side-ups were almost cold when served; the beans came in an adorable little bowl but also clearly out-of-the-can; also, the tomatoes weren't grilled as one would expect, but merely warmed up. Overall, a cheap impression that doesn't do this beautiful historic setting justice. The waiter apologized for the eggs and was very helpful when it came to selecting a cake. The Black Forest Cherry Cake, indeed, made up for some of the disappointment: fresh, juicy, delightfully cherry-ful - this is what it should look and taste like! Still, it felt somewhat sad to witness the contrast between a great past and a mediocre present. I would gladly pay more for an improved, more caring and professional approach. Out waiter, leading private conversations in a rather vulgar tone (beware, some English-speaking customers understand Czech, as well) right next to our booth didn't help boosting the impression, either. Anyway, all the best to this amazing place; may it always have staff and customers that appreciate and love it!

Bad service. Food looks ok but not good at all. Price not a problem. Drinks taste horrible. We ordered a lemonade and a jug of ice tea. They tasted so bad. Forget the fruit ice tea it is horrible. Cakes look good but not taste good. Don’t order. Waitress asked to add 10% to my bill like it is a must.

TLDR; As a local, if you need to/want to go to a tourist trap there are other places which are cheaper and much better service. The Aperol Spritz was decent, but for 155 Czk per it should have had more than just 4 icecubes. The tartar was okay, and the beer was of course nothing to complain about. The waiter was a little slow, but it's understandable as there were many people and it was lunch time. However, as we were paying, the receipt came to 775 Czk. In Czech Republic tipping is not always necessary unless it is truly outstanding service, and the normal thing to do is to round up. I rounded up to 800 after the waiter pointed out on the receipt that tip is not included. He states it once again, and asks me if I want to give 10, 15 or 20%. I state 800 is fine, and the waiter starts complaining that this is only 3 percent. I inform him that tipping is not normal in Czech Republic, but rounding up should be fine. I guess he did not want the 3% tip, as he entered 775 into the terminal, but that was fine for me. He then stood staring at us as we were packing up to leave and gathering our stuff, and as we walked away he said something in Czech. My Czech is not the best, though I did hear him say something from the base word of špína- or something similar. The base word means dirty, so I find that entirely unprofessional. My mother has always loved this place, and even though it is expensive, it has a great location. After this she will not return either, as there are other places which has actual professional waiters, cheaper menus and great locations.

I recently dined at a luxurious restaurant, and I must say, the experience left much to be desired, primarily due to the extremely poor behavior and communication skills of the staff, who seemed incapable of speaking English. Their behavior was far from what one would expect in a high-end establishment. They appeared disinterested and even somewhat rude. It felt as though they were inconvenienced by having English-speaking customers, which was disappointing given the reputation of the restaurant. In particular, when I went to go behind the pianist to go to the toilet, the employee came and almost pushed me so that she wouldn't pass by. He told me that only staff come here and to leave. She answered calmly if she wanted to speak more politely and she just continued to tell me only personal. In conclusion, while the ambiance and cuisine of this restaurant were commendable, the abysmal level of English proficiency and the unprofessional behavior of the staff marred what could have been an exceptional dining experience. It's essential for establishments aiming to attract international clientele to invest in staff training and language skills to ensure that all guests feel welcome and valued.

Came here and got a free fortepiano concert. All good. Coffee and chocolate cake - good. Funny robots with dirty dishes 🙂

Visited because we saw it being full of people having afternoon tea, so thought why not. The place itself is beautiful, the atmosphere is unique. The hot chocolate we ordered was ok, and so was the apple strudel. Somewhere in between they forgot to bring us cutlery so had to go ask for those. The reason for the three stars is the waiter attitude, begging for tips in the end. And when they don’t get tipped they speak to you in Czech (I presume swearing but I wouldn’t know). How ridiculous. Advice to management: either pay your waiters better or get rid of the beggars.

If you love Art Nouveau / Jugendstil, then you have to see the beautiful interior design. I did not eat here but I could see the prices on the menu are high. You pay for the ambient. Tip: Afternoon Happy-Hour you can get a large beer for 56Krn/2,33€.

In the afternoon there is live piano music. A bit more expensive than the average price but of course you are in a beautiful location. Good to see it once.

Art Deco Cafe in the heart of Prague old town. Lovely service, tasty food, the great example of the beginning of XX century. True joy for artistic people. Very popular for lunch and dinners.

Imposing, bright and historic location. The cakes are superb, even better than some of the best cafes in Vienna, and that's saying a lot! Even the ravioli dish which one of us ordered was delicious, simple but from best quality ingredients. The staff is very friendly too.

Wow the breakfast I had here that march morning when the sun came out. It was just fantastic. Pro tip, skip the hotel breakfast and come here instead.

If you want to enjoy a fine Turkish coffee with cardamom, this is the best place to do it. The deserts are also amazing here. Try the cake from cottage cheese which is light and not sweet at all. It suits the coffee perfectly. If you will be lucky, you can also enjoy street musicians playing the fiddles. In this case the atmosphere will be especially romantic.

Extremely rude to non-locals, this is not a tourist friendly place. We walked in and waited about 30 min to be seated for breakfast while it was partially empty. We ended up choosing a table outside and were asked to switch tables. Took about another 20 min trying to order, no waiter bothered to stop and take our order. After all that we asked the waiter if he can take our order and he aggressively kept walking and said "very busy, very busy, one minute". We waited for another 5 min until someone would notice us, no one did. We left the restaurant and will never think of returning. Terrible place and not worth the hassle of just trying to order a quick breakfast.

Excellent customer service. Being in the Old town which is super touristy, I didn’t expect this perfect service. Our waiter was such a perfectionist, our delicious ice cream platters were ordered super fast, and he took care of cleaning our table while being served, which is not so common nowadays!! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience 🌹🌹

Tasty cake and coffee in an artsy cafe! The manager is a very accommodating gentleman who welcomed me to play the piano as I asked for (couldn't resist to not playing in such a beautiful place!), and the staff are also well-trained. The best cafe during my trip to Prague!

Firstly the building interior is beautiful. The breakfast was good, however service was really lack luster which doesn’t match the atmosphere or prices. Also there are robots rolling around collecting dishes which really takes away the mood. Just saying.

It's a classic restaurant in the heart of Prague. The menu is not that varient, but covers different tastes. If you are a tourist following some tour guides recommendations, you won't miss anything food wise leaving out this restaurant as it doesn't serve traditional Czeck food. But the experience, the view to the street and the interior design are worth a try. We went there for lunch without reservations and could sit without waiting. We tried a chicken dish and a vegan risotto. Both were tasty. Although seem small, the portions were big for us. As they welcome you with butter and bread and serve potatoes with all the dishes, consider not overordering if you have a small appetite. Still if you did and you don't like to waste food, you can ask them to box the leftovers. Service was a bit strange, two different waiters passed us an asked same question and one asked to collect the dishes while we were chatting and stopped eating for few minutes (we couldn't finish it!), but they were doing their job, what can I say :) Finally, I would rather leave the choice on the amount of the tip to the customer than asking for exact 10% but considering that it's quite a fancy restaurant, and it has affordable prices for tourists, 10% was fair.

The atmosphere is great, I like the building and they even have cute little cat robots helping the servants. The coffee gets served with a delicious cookie and some sugar you can add. A truly nice place to have a coffee at the start of the day, also it's a good alternative to Starbucks because it's cheaper and way less crowded. The serving is also way faster then Starbucks.

Beautiful experience in every respect! An art deco immersion, with gorgeous cakes, cheeky drams and wonderful service. Perfect for "Kaffee und Kuchen". Sat at table 108 we had a prime view across the room, it was nicely busy and there was a friendly hub-bub. The staff are great and fun, the service speedy. Just a shame there's no souvenirs to buy and take home. Quite magical place for us.

Had their traditional meat and bread dish, maybe not my favourite type of meal but I wanted to try local food while in Prague, but not too bad. The main restaurant was empty in the evening for a Saturday during the holidays season.

Horrible place. Came into a lovely building and pianist playing and thought this will be a great experience. We assumed the coffee would be great, especially considering the price, but it came cold. Cold coffee for £4(125kc)? That’s not good. Well we didn’t really have much time as I had a meeting after, so we went ahead and paid. The waitress asked if we’re leaving a tip and my mum said no, the coffee was cold. The waitress looked at her annoyed and repeated “noooo?” while lifting her eyebrows. Seriously? Anyway, she paid and we were about to leave when they brought another coffees on the house. This was a nice gesture but as we said, we were in a rush so we had a sip and left. This coffee was ok but again not warm enough. Giving two stars only for the interior, the pianist and the delayed apology, even though it was obvious they were annoyed. WOULD NEVER COME BACK AGAIN.

Very nice and friendly place near the Power gate and shopping mall Paladium. A bit pricey but the cakes are just on the different level, and it's in the city centre so you are paying for that. If you consider those two factors, it's not that pricey anymore. During summer time, they have seats available also outside (on the street).

I enjoyed a pleasant, outdoor experience with large umbrellas to provide shade. Service was good, beef with cream sauce, dumplings and cranberry compote was delicious. Dessert of pistachio and vanilla ice cream was ample and good. Great people-watching spot from a spectacular art nouveau building, inside and out!

Size and quality of the Food does not fit with the Price. The staff was nice but thats not enough. We also were unlucky with a big guy only Group at the neighboring table. They did talk really bad about the girls at out table believing we dont understand.

Consider eating goulash elsewhere. I think I confused this restaurant with one of its neighbors with the allure of their patio in patio season. Staff brought my food without also bringing me cutlery. Should be automatic as no one eats goulash with their hands. Not around here at least. Oh well could be worse, it was still great on a beautiful June afternoon.

What a spectacular venue! We went for light snacks but we delighted to discover we were there in time for high tea. We were offered a choice of teas and the tiers of sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats was beautiful. Certainly not the most delicious high tea food I’ve had; sandwiches we dry and the scones dense. But it was worth it to have a meal in this gorgeous, historic space. The cakes we saw brought to other tables on a trolley looked lovely.

Nice tables outside on the terrace, but there's not much of a view, as it's hard to see Powder Tower and Municipal House itself from there. I had a Kir Royale cocktail. At breakfast, they serve only a small breakfast menu including various egg dishes. The cafe differs from the equally ornate restaurant across the hall with the niche with a fountain by Osvald Polívka, and nymph statue by Josef Pekárek.

The place is what "Old world class" means. I mean, everything from the Chandeliers to the waiters remind you of what high society would have felt like in the 70s. The menu is good too. All the hot beverages are served with a butter biscuit. I would strongly recommend the pork schnitzel here.

This was a delightful place to get dinner and dessert. The interior is beautiful and you seat yourself, so you can pick your view. The food was warm and delicious. For dessert we got the apple strudel. It was lovely and served whipped cream. It was a lovely way to end the day.

The place looks goregous and desserts are fantastic but... The waiter, who served our table behave such as a beggar. I outght to pay 175 CZK and gave him exact ammountso he pointed on a bill that "tip is not included". I felt disgust and refuse to tip him so the guy pointed a finger on me and told my friends in czech that I am miser. In my opinion this is not a place for begging I felt disgust after a superior experince.

The kavarna is reminiscent of a great era of Art deco and can imagine the place full of the Prague elites spending time there before the concerts. The food however is poor and the service even more.

Nice decor, good cake and coffee. However, you don't get too feel like an appreciated customer, the stuff is all the time in hurry, I felt like on a crowded train station. Prices a bit expensive.
