Such a disappointment. 1* because they are situated in the center of Prague where hundreds of tourists pass each day, however the place doesn't offer the needed experience: waiters that forget the orders, waiting almost 40 minutes for basic breakfast, dirty cutleries, only one toilet, CASH ONLY payment. Looks more like a tourist trap and I will not be recommending this place.

Nice views from the 1st floor patio at the Grand Café Orient. Staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. Coffee was good and the price was affordable for the view and popularity of the cafe. Although the patio is nice and has good views, there isn't much of the building's design to see - so you may prefer to sit inside where you can see the beautiful interior design. Cash only. Credit cards are not accepted here (as of July 2022).

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The interior is kinda nice but the waiter was extremely rude and grumpy. Like if you don’t like your job then quit please? They don’t offer any plant-based milk so we literally just walked out

Worth visiting and sitting for a while just to be transported in time back to 1911 when the cubist style of painting, decor and architecture was popular. As you sit and read you can enjoy the gracious service from uniformed waiters aware of their role in this dramatic representation. What a bonus that the eggs and bacon were delicious and modestly priced.

Amazing cubist cafe upstairs with a view just meters from old town square. The food and coffee were on-point! The potato mushroom soup was a perfect start to my lunch which was followed by their toasted club sandwich. They make a traditional Czech pasty but make it square instead of round to pay homage to the cubist building that they reside in. It went perfect with an espresso. I will be back here often!

Great Place to be! Sweet interior, lovely food and nice coffee as well as awesome service. Only downside: cash only. We've been there for breakfast and we totally flashed by the Coffee Royal...haha! So we went straight for beer after that. Maybe a bit pricey but worth it!

More than a little disappointed with our visit to the Grand Cafe Orient The cafe had been recommended by a tour guide. We arrived and it wasn’t busy (pictures included) We had to seat ourselves after a long wait We were consistently ignored - when asked for help/service we were further ignored We left without ordering (after about 20 minutes) We went to the cafe downstairs, much better service. Only reason this place isn’t getting the lowest rating is because it is truly a beautiful building / setting.

Cafe Orient is beautiful (inside). The cubist design is very interesting and like a preserved capsule of some very different times. The terrace is narrow and you can look at droves of tourists passing by and never going in. While coffee is decent, the cake (a very cubist designed veternik) was very average, perhaps even a bit stale. Service is barely acceptible - we got a wooden Lurch who barely spoke to us, we got coffee and cake at different times, and we got no worded responses up until we rounded the bill at the end as a tip. All in all - meh.

Very cool place that deserves more traffic. Nice decoration- especially the chandeliers- and looks amazing from outside. I feel like having more cubist dishes would be beneficial to them- they have a great cubist desert already 😊 The service was just ok and at least for now you have to pay cash. They said it will change soon tho. It felt like a place that could be amazing with few little changes. Like removing the mannequins with T-shirts on them 😊. Overall it’s worth visit 👍🏻

If l could give 0 stars, I would. The waitress is super rude and acts very aggressive. DO NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE. They even give us this coffee as Turkish coffee and the glasses are broken. W A S T E O F M O N E Y!

Absolutely in love with this place. The staff is very nice and friendly. In terms of variety they have a very nice mix of different types of coffee and drinks. Cakes and pastries are also nice. Probably the only drawback of this place is that you need to pay in cash but it is definitely worth a visit.

Lovely coffee house in the downtown of Prague. Very nice interior. I asked for a quick espresso. They were very friendly, I paid at the entrance upfront, went directly to the counter and I got it immediately. Reasonable prices.

A beautiful cafe, but we do not feel welcome as Asians... The coffee looks visually appealing but tasteless... However, taste is subjective, so it’s possible that the coffee may not have been to our liking.

Historical cafe. You came here for its past. The beautiful staircase is not to missed. It's actually on 2nd floor (here it is 1st floor) a lot of people mistakes it for the ground restaurant Cerva Madonna, which is not a bad choice either. But if you are looking for the true Cafe Orient, you need to go upstairs.

A cool place to chill and relax just off the main square. Enjoyable coffee in a relaxed environment. Great collection of cakes and if you go upstairs you get to enjoy a prime example of a character cubist style Cafe complete with pianist. Please note this location does not accept card payments.

I always wanted visit this unique architectural treasure in cubistic style. This is like going back in time with Time Machine. I could see The First Republic boom. It’s beautiful and like from design and architecture text book. The interior looks perfect. I enjoyed having my hot chocolate here.

The cakes are stunning, beautiful to look at and also very tasty, worth 5 stars. But staying at the Café is not an option since there's an entire disregard for any covid rules, masks and distance alike. So best enjoyed as takeaway.

A great piece of cuban/czech architecture and a fabulous cafe in the middle of Prague. You can sit outside and look at the passing tourists or sit inside and look at the fantastically decorated cafe. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming, just remember to bring some cash, cards are not accepted here.

For experiences, maybe it’s too old fashioned for many people, but it’s not a Starbucks you can find everywhere in this globe village. I am happy to enjoy the different atmosphere here. The coffee not good but the croissant with cheese and vegetables were good.

This cafe is well known for its cubist style. The architecture inside reflects the style. Furthermore, the food served had its shape from it as well. It is spacious, clean and comfortable place. The prices are reasonable as it is well known in the areas. No reservation needed. I don’t suggest to go in busy hours as the staff is stressed in these hours. We recommend the sweets but Turkish coffee. Recommended in general .

Great place to have breakfast. I didn’t quite like the coffee It was just an americano maybe it was just bad luck on that one. But the food the service and atmosphere I love it. We order the Benedict eggs and croque madame. Here are some pics both of them were really good made with love I’m sure. I liked the croque madame better tho. It had more flavor! Enjoy!

Very good cakes and coffee. The ambience was amazing. The music transported us to the roaring 20s. Glorious. Only downside: all cakes were supposed to come with cream, they did not. Service was good, contrary to what some of the reviews experienced! Not my experience.

Our waiters were friendly. The food is definitely catered towards tourists but it tasted good. The desserts are beautiful, didn't try any...yet, we will be back because its a great, central location. The service is a little on the slow side, but is to be expected because there is a steady flow of people.

The location is a must-see, a wonderful example of cubist architecture (even the coat hangers follow this style). However you definitely don’t come here for the food or coffee, which are pretty average. Also they only take cash, which is a bit of a bummer in 2023.

This café is a 10/10!!!! The place is amazing! The service is really good, the waiters are really nice 🙌🏻. Definitely the homemade cakes and lemonade are DELICIOUS! I was amazed by the piano concert during tea time.

This building as well as the interior of that café is fabulous. A unique cubist style which you will struggle to find elsewhere in the world. Sometimes, a gent will come and play piano which will drive us back to the 1920s. Unfortunately, it lost two stars because the food and drinks are very basic. And I'm nice. Cash only as well, not convenient at all (while every other business in its surrounding takes card payment). Fix the menu! Less options, more focus on food!

We came here a little after lunch as a walk break from site-seeing. This cafe is upstairs in a busy area of Old Town. The aesthetics were beautiful. Service was great and our server was friendly. We had some coffee and cake. Menu had a variety of coffee, desserts, food, and cocktails. We had a good time!

Awesome experience! Not so crowded when we went and we were served right away. The bombardino was awesome and so were our hot breakfasts. The music really adds to the atmosphere too!! I loved everything about this place.

Great classic Café and restaurant. A fine example of cubist architecture. It's everywhere, even the coathangers. But be aware that you can only pay in cash. They do not take credit cards FYI 😉 But it is definitely worth a visit if you are in Prague.

Unique atmosphere, because of the cubist interior, tasty food and coffee drinks, welcoming staff. A tiny terrace with street view. Currently they don't accept card payments, bring cash and enjoy.

On entering we was met by a nice older waiter who Corona check us and said we can sit anywhere, this was the end of the good service. The coffee was stranded and the cake was ok you can't pay by card and the younger waiter was very rude and not very nice when we asked for the bill it took over 10 mins and it was not busy wish the old boy just served us he was nice!!

Good food, but takes ages for it to come. The staff didn't know English, so it was hard to communicate. They also brought us coffee & cake while we wanted the cake only (don't get me wrong, the didn't try to fool us around, they simply don't know English). It's a quiet place in city center located in a unique building which is nice, but there are other better quiet stops options at the city center.

Nice environment, great service. (note: this restaurant is on the first floor, it is a different place than on the ground floor).

Breakfast was not very good. Served without butter. No plant milk for coffee. They don't heat up bread or croissant. Service was tired. Cash only.

👍👍 The selection of unique flavors can tell from the start that you are in the right place. They choose an excellent name to describe their product. My large cup had a deep dark cherry chocolate, an apricot, and a lavender-blueberry scoop. The artisan ice-cream here is served by awesome staff that kind...
