Park
Na
Karlov
was
established
in
1903
according
to
the
plan
of
the
architect
Karel
Skalák
on
the
remains
of
the
former
fortifications
on
the
highest
point
of
New
Town
and
part
of
the
monastery
cemetery.
Its
area
is
approximately
4500
m².
It
was
designed
in
the
historicist
landscape
concept,
which
was
very
popular
at
the
beginning
of
the
last
century.
After
1985,
the
park
was
modified
according
to
the
project
of
the
architect
Radim
Hubička.
The
entrance
to
the
park
is
from
Božena
Němcová
street
through
a
baroque
gate
with
a
sundial.
A
short
distance
from
it
towards
the
church
stands
a
beautiful
niche
pilgrimage
chapel
with
a
sandstone
statue
of
Charles
IV.
of
Luxembourg
from
1837.
Access
to
the
park
is
barrier-free
and
dogs
are
not
allowed
to
run
freely.
(In
summer
from
6
a.m.
to
7
p.m.,
in
winter
from
6
a.m.
to

The
park
called
"Na

(something
like
"on

the
Fourth)
