I stepped into Holešovice Market and was immediately struck by its contemporary vibe. With OSB board accents and the soft hum of young people working on laptops, I felt I'd stumbled into a modern oasis in Prague. I found myself drawn to the hip dishes, including the intriguing chili fries, which seemed to challenge the traditional concept of market fare. Exploring further, I noticed the market's industrial flair, with second-hand shops and food trucks blending past and present. The familiar aroma of a smash burger teased my senses, finding its bold place among the new culinary classics. Everywhere I looked, there was something fresh and exciting to discover. As the day wore on, I sensed a healthy mix of locals and tourists, all weaving through the stalls and eateries. I quickly learned that timing was crucial; the best food seemed to vanish quickly, and the market stalls began to close around 15:00. I felt a thrill of urgency, a pulse that seemed to drive the very heart of the market. Reflecting on my day at Holešovice Market, I realized it wasn't just a place to shop or eat. It was where I found unexpected connections, tasted the now, and embraced a piece of contemporary Prague. This market became more than a destination for me; it was a personal experience, one I'll carry with me, resonating with both comfort and novelty.

Came here for a small cider festival and stopped only in the stalls area for an afternoon. It's a useful place for small festival, with about 15-20 personalized stalls and benches in the middle. It's convenient because there's a big park about 10 mins by foot and the river just below.

A very clean local market with lots of fresh vegetables. We picked up some veggies cooking at our b&b for lunch. The carrots I brought in this market tasted so organic. If you are looking for fresh products this is the place to be. They also have a food truck in the area.

Update from my previous review (below). 13 September 2020. I visited today and was shocked how filthy this place is and lack of stores. It is a very depressing place. Not worth visiting. It is now 125 years old and it shows. 2 March 2019. It didn't appear to have many stalls and was quite empty. What we did see didn't impress us. Maybe it is better during the summer.

Nice place to hang out. Go visit the market and can have lunch or dinner at a choice of your place surrounding the market. Easy to get there and for a nominal charge parking is available in plenty in the parking lots. Also close by is an Alza location you can walk to, in case you but anything online.

It's fun to visit more of an local place, especially the food market. But it's much smaller than expected, and I expected more local stores and less imported Chinese stuff. Seems like a lot of the stores are being replaced by restaurants? It's worth walking though if you're in the area, but I don't recommend going out of your way to see it of you're a tourist.

Love the Hall 22. Líbí se mi hala 22. ❤️ I was so tired of overpriced, low quality supermarket products hence started coming to Prague Market for groceries. And it didn't disappoint. Better quality, fresher produce, cheaper prices - usually bargain closer to closing time. The vendors are always friendly. It houses a few foreign stalls and I love the diversity (pan-east Asian, Uzbek, Russian, Greek, Hungarian etc). Always positive experience there 💯😊

I love the place but it could be used more. I can imagine it like a place you could spend the entire day just walking around and enjoying different cultures and experiences. Let´s hope its gonna change. The market itself its very nice, you can buy fresh groceries and even spices and Russian food for example. The food trucks area is super charming and I highly recommend the first one that offers coffee and a lovely service. Of course, for those in love with technology, a stop by at Alza is the highlight! You can also, go for a walk at the river, just in front of the market, with a beautiful view of the Vltava!

Very nice market which offered products mostly from local farmers. Great place where to go for some vegetable, fruit, meat... just I would say that something is missing to the perfection. (more places where you can have a snack, lunch, stand or sit for a while with coffee etc.)

It’s a nice church. Lots of steps to get up but it has nice views once you arrive. You need to pay to go into the churches but not the area

We went for the October fest there. Was nice, but not as fun as in Germany. Prague Mayor attended the event and poured beer for people. The mayor & his stuff were very welcoming. Beers were very nice, prices were a bit more expensive than in restaurants in prague but it was still pleasant.

Nice small local foodmarket with reasonable prices and friendly salespeople. Great idea to visit when you are in the neighborhood.

Nice but very small and most of the products are the same so it's just interesting enough for 30min of tourism, not more

This place has so much potential that is not getting used to the fullest. Unless there is an event for a particular occasion, the Prague Market still has an atmosphere a little too sad with number of Asian junk stores. There is a theatre and music hall that live their own lives during evening/night hours.

It's been getting much better in recent years, I remember it being such a seedy place in the early 00's. Although I do miss the large second hand shops that in Czech we would call "hrabák" which is basically just a large hall with a huge amount of really cheap clothing. Now it's all nice and clean, with great farmers market.

Hall 22 of the Market is an authentic place to buy farmer products. Look for stands that sell seasonal produce direct from their own farm. Open each morning until noon, closed Sundays.

I went to a wonderful music festival in Hala 13-17 and 40 this weekend: Mladi Ladi fest. It was beyond my expectations… amazing artists and great atmosphere!

Locals said farmers markets are more expensive than supermarkets. Better go to Lidl or penny for cheaper and more fresh produce. This place seems good and has a variety of fresh products. As per locals, those are imported. For czech fresh cheap stuff, you have to wait for spring and summer.

Always wanted to experience the Prague market during Christmas. It was beautiful and felt like it was straight out of a Disney movie

Very nice place with some stalls on the road in the old part of Prague. We bought fresh and delicious strawberries in November (?), but their grout display looked delicious. They also offered hot drinks, burgers, "hot dog" Czech sausage in a bun, honeys, typical Czech waffles with different fillings and a higher variety of chocolates.

Nice fresh food for reasonable money. When we were there it was organised and peaceful. No hectic rushing ;)

This place has the potential to become one of the coolest places in Prague. Hopefully, the city will continue with its efforts to transforming. At the moment, it's already much nicer than it was few years ago and you can find food trucks, art exhibitions, festivals and Alza here.

Been coming here since a kid, the place sure changed over the time. From lively but chaotic marketplace to much more modern district with a dedicated farmers' market and plenty other nice stores. The historical trail as well as the lovely neighbourhood makes it a great place to visit even for a walk.

Very interesting area. It changed significantly since the city won court and got control. Many pavilions with different purposes. Market, food trucks, restaurants, theatre, festivals and other activities whole year. Waiting for reconstruction in upcoming couple years.

Nice farmers market to get vegetables, fruits, farm fresh eggs, flowers, plants (including vegetable plants), pickled foods, kimchi, meats and fish… however it is very expensive in my opinion and not always locally produced food. For me farmers market means fresh vegetables and fruit directly from a farm in CZ and therefore at a lower price than grocery stores.

This is very nice market, near the centre of Prague. You can find here fresh vagetable, fruits, herbs and others foods - with average price. Around the hall of the market, you even can explore more things: alza, vietnamese market, Sasazu restaurant and bar... This market also open very early: 7 a.m (but do not go there at 7am, just few shops are opened from 7am)

I love this place for cheap treasures. Plan on bargaining for everything. Never, ever, ever pay the 500 Czk asking price. Just start to walk away. Magically, your item will be cut in half.

A firework of diversity. One of the few last resistance places in Prague not contaminated by hipsters place. But they have gained ground.

Real gem in Holešovice. I wish the city lot of luck with upcoming reconstruction and improvement of the market. It should have bright future ahead.
