Not
to
be
confused
with
the
Church
of
St.
Nicholas
found
across
the
river
in
the
Mala
Strana
district,
there
is
another
famous
church
in
Prague
called
the
Church
of
St.
Nicholas,
which
is
found
directly
on
the
Old
Town
Square.
This
is
smaller
church,
styled
in
Baroque
architecture
that
has
been
on
the
square
since
1735,
built
upon
the
grounds
of
a
much
older
Gothic
church
from
the
13th
century.
Inside
you
can
see
an
impressive
chandelier
that
helps
provide
lighting
for
the
nice
ceiling
frescos
and
stucco
decor.
The
Church
of
St.
Nicholas
is
also
used
for
nightly
concerts
which
can
be
purchased
at
the
door
upon
entry.
In
the
end,
while
not
one
of
our
favourite
church
visits
in
the
city,
it
is
easy
to
stop
by
and
see
the
Church
of
St.
Nicholas
on
the
Old
Town
Square.
We
spent
no
more
than
15
minutes
during
our
visit.
Other
attractions
on
the
Old
Town
Square,
which
you
can
visit
as
well
include
the
very
nice
Church
of
the
Virgin
Mary
before
Tyn,
the
Goltz-Kinsky
Palace,
the
Jan
Hus
Statue
as
well
as
the
Old
Town
Hall
building,
where
you
find
Orlog
-
The
'Astronomy
Clock'.
