This review is LONG overdue!!! My husband and I got married on May 28th of this year. We had Scratch as our caterer and it was by far one of THE best decisions. We still have our wedding guests share with us how great the food at our wedding was. One guest said it was by far "the best food I'd ever had at a wedding." It was worth the money we paid and cannot thank the Scratch team enough for their kindness and patience throughout the process. Tyler the owner, even brought us a plate in the middle of everything that is wedding chaos, to make sure we ate during dinner! Our wedding planner saved us some appetizers too, cause she knew we loved the apps they were going to be providing that day. Thank you Scratch for everything. The food and service were delightful!! The menu was truly a twist on elevated comfort food, and I was excited to try the Blueberry Rosemary Steak Florentine. The wine list is impressive, and the service is lovely. It had a Euro Bistro feel as they let us have a full evening at a leisurely pace. Lauren is an absolute delight and a breath of fresh aire!

My husband and I tried Scratch for a fun date afternoon dinner. The food and service and ambience was outstanding. I highly recommend the executive chef special sea bass- it was 5+ stars and our server, Chris was a true foodie with outstanding service.

I can’t believe this food is Takeout. Scratch has quickly became my favorite place to eat in Kansas City! Pro tip, order Express for dinner (pick anything on the menu it’s all scrumptious & don’t miss the desserts) then order Grab N Go for lunch tomorrow! 👏🏼👏🏼 Top 3: Carrot Cake, Cajun Shrimp & Grits, & BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP! We hosted a champagne tasting for 12 people this past Saturday to celebrate a few birthdays. Tyler (owner) personally did the tasting! The champagnes were amazing, the food that they provided paired so well with the drinks and the service was impeccable! Tyler provided the perfect amount of information about the champagnes and then he let us socialize and hang out. I cannot recommend this establishment enough! They are so passionate about the products they provide and the service that goes along with it. We are going back this Thursday for another event! 15/10 recommend!

Scratch Gourmet Express & Catering was amazing to work with. They responded to us quickly and worked with us on our Luncheon event for 45 people. The food was delicious and everyone loved it. The team on site were professional, kind and eager to go the extra mile! I would highly recommend them again.

My husband’s 60th birthday event was absolutely spectacular. The team we had were incredibly capable, professional, thoughtful, and very resourceful. They did everything we wanted them to do and more….Above and beyond the call of duty and so so sweet. The food was displayed beautifully and absolutely delicious.

Scratch Gourmet Express & Catering did a fantastic job for our client event last month. Bailey was great to work with from building out the menu and all of her help planning to make sure everything went perfectly. The food was delicious and everyone raved about it. Definitely will use them again! Highly recommend.

This was our first time at Scratch and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was amazing - highly recommend the blueberry steak. Lauren assisted us in choosing the best meals for what we were wanting and great wine pairings. Additionally, the presentation of our dessert was phenomenal. Will be coming back.

Lauren provided excellent service all night and we had so much fun bringing our out of town friends here! I had the scallops and they were cooked to perfection on top of the most delicious bed of squash. The caviar on top was absolutely amazing! Would most definitely come again!

We have been going to Scratch for lunch and dinner since it opened and we love it so much that we have told multiple friends and have brought our families there for meals also. ! The wait staff is wonderful and very accommodating! We love the food and I can’t think of a better place to have a delicious meal ! My significant other has had them to his business several times for a catering event which was awesome also !

We had the most wonderful experience here with our family. From the Raspberry Chipotle Black Bean Dip to our dinners of Blueberry Rosemary Steak Florentine (x2), Pan Seared Sea Scallops (x2), Southern Fried Chicken Breast, Pinot Noir, and delicious desserts. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting and all of the staff were great and attentive. We will be back and sit in the great outdoor area next time. So many GF options as well. Thanks Chef Grant for helping us have a wonderful birthday celebration!

Very impressed. I had pasta with veggies, and it had so much flavor! Also had the chicken breast with potatoes and Brussel sprouts, and it was ok. A little bland but good. The strawberry shortcake was decent. I would go back, I enjoyed it. It is very pricey. I wish the portion of pasta was more for $18.

I placed a take-out order today. I ordered the Brown sugar rubbed, seared and butter basted salmon servied with an orange beurre blanc sauce and charred asparagus. The asparagus and salmon were over cooked and the orange beurre blanc sauce had separated and tasted like oil. It was a gelatinous mess. Very disappointed.

Some seriously delicious eats. The chicken salad sandwich was so flavorful and perfectly paired with seasoned potato chips. They both will make your mouth happy. Service was delightful, the owner even came out to chat with us. What a treat!

Scratch catered a reception for 50 people in an office building venue. They were on-time, courteous, and the food was delicious and looked beautiful! They had other events already scheduled for that day when we first reached out, but they managed to work us in.

We had such an amazing experience using Scratch for our client's corporate brunch! They were early to set up, easy to communicate with, quick to respond, and went above and beyond at the event offering to help with the bar when we only sourced food through them. I cannot say enough good things about Scratch and will definitely be recommending them to all of our clients!

We came in to Scratch for a late reservation on Valentine’s night. We were in for a surprise, a delicious one. Having driven a short drive from downtown Kansas City, we came in ready for some good wine and food and we were delighted with the Valentine’s day menu and the wide wine selection. We chose to get both of the set menus in order to try all the dishes that looked mouthwatering and they did not disappoint! The tuna tartare appetizer was made with some of the freshest tuna I’ve had, the chips complemented it so well, and the crab cakes appetizer was generous and very flavorful. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was topped with fresh crab and charred asparagus, and the sauce (I have no idea what it’s made of) was so good I (shamelessly) asked for bread to make sure I get every last drop of it. As for the squid ink pasta, that stole the show! It was excellent, and took us back to a dish we had in Venice. The pasta sauce was one of the best fresh red sauces I’ve had in a while, and yes, we did clean that plate too with some of the bread. Our server Theresa was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we had the full experience (without pushing us to add one thing we did not want). She even made sure to get the owner themselves to help us with the wine selection, where we discovered a new “Port-like” wine and got that bottle to take home! Overall, I’m delighted with this experience and the value, and have already shared it with my family members who were not familiar with this hidden gem. Thank you Scratch Gourmet staff (waiting staff, and Chef) and owner. We will be back for sure!

My wife and I spotted this new venue on our way home from work and decided to investigate it further. Easy to find with plenty of free parking in the Prairie Village shopping center. Scratch is a carry out restaurant and the product of the pandemic with it's restrictions on sit down and indoor dinning. We ordered and split the chicken fried steak and Cajun shrimp and grits along with brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious we especially enjoyed the brussel sprouts , fantastic! Scratch does offer a private dining room for parties of up to 22. Although a bit pricey we are sure to return to this gourmet restaurant soon. Update, Scratch now offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Scratch has rapidly become one of our favorite places.

Perfect private dinner spot for a VIP group, corporate dinner or fine dining special event. The food was beautiful, delicious and interesting. Scratch team was fantastic, knowledgeable and fun. Plus the wine pairings were perfect, we learned a lot. Great all around experience!

Can't say enough good things about this place and its people! The team recently hosted our Board of Directors for the Kansas City Chapter of Meeting Professionals International at their venue, and to say the experience was elevated or awesome would be an understatement! The plates were beautiful and delicious and the wine pairings were totally on point! Their team was wonderful and engaging, and with the whole experience, Scratch gained 12 new salespeople working to champion their brand every day! Thanks again to Tyler and Bailey and the whole team for an amazing experience!

To Go dinner from @scratch_kc tonight. The place is really cute with lots of outside seating in the shade. The staff was great! Packaged all of the parts of our dinner separately so it all traveled. Also took the time to tell me how to best put the food together. Wonderful attention to detail. We had the nachos - queso was creamy, the meat is tender, and the salsa added acid. Needed a little something spicy. The wilted salad’s bacon dressing was acidic and paired well with the avocado. Finally we had the shrimp fajitas. The flavor was good, a little sweet and the shrimp was perfectly cooked.

My biggest compliment here was the service - all members were so attentive & prompt, always giving their recommendations, and so friendly. The patio was a perfect shaded area where you could still be outside (plus dogs are allowed on the patio). I only had a couple appetizers, but both were delicious. The black bean strawberry dip was amazing and I can’t wait to go back and have a full dining experience! Great drink specials/happy hour, so good place for that. Large wine selection as well, with the option to get beer, wine & cocktails. Will definitely be back!

I hired Scratch for the first time, for a women's brunch in December 2023. We had 100 women in attendance. They arrived on time, set up beautifully and timely. The food was hot and everything I had hoped it would be. I also requested 2 servers and it was money well spent. They keep the buffet stocked and full and even went around and picked up the ladies' plates when they were finished eating. They were very kind and courteous. I will be using them again and have already passed along their information to several of my friends. Don't hesitate. Allow them to craft you a beautiful and tasty menu and free up some of the stress of event planning.

Overall an amazing experience! Amazing service from our waiter, Jason, beautiful presentation, great atmosphere, and the food far exceeded our expectations! We definitely recommend the brownie sundae for dessert which comes with a special presentation! If you’re from or familiar with Manhattan definitely try the raspberry bean dip. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

What an absolutely amazing experience! Scratch Gourmet Kitchen is on to something. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. The atmosphere was intimate and inviting. The hostess greeted us warmly. Our server was well educated on the menu, gave great recommendation and the service was overall excellent. Now the food….. wow! Chef Grant is phenomenal at his art and every single bite of each course was savoring. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and practically licked the bowl clean! We ordered the brownie sundae that came with a chocolate hard shell on top that was melted tableside. Super cool! We will definitely be returning!
