For some unknown reason this major destination in Prato is NOT currently showing up in Google's Travel Guide of top sights in Prato. In fact, it is or should be one of the top two or three stops in your visit, especially if you are an art lover. Recently completely refurbished, this medieval palazzo contains a small but beautiful collection of Italian paintings including works by Daddi, Gaddi, Monaco, Filippo and Filippino Lippi, and Signorelli among others. The building itself is of historic interest as well.

Very well restored Palazzo from thr 12th century , with an impressive collection of artwork . Several Filippo and Filippino Lippi works, they lived in Prato ! Three rooftop terrace offers an amazing view. The building as well as the pieces shown make it worth a visit. There is modern art on the tip floor. No cafe inside, but outside on the piazza is a fine one. No parking nearby as in the historical town centre.

This was a really interesting place to visit. They have interactive exhibits to help explain what you are viewing. I learned a lot about the history of Prato, as well as important art works. Definitely a must visit when you're in Prato

A stunning building and the museum exhibits are beautifully displayed. Plenty of interactive screen offer additional information in both English and Italian. Well worth a visit.
