Stayed in a private room for two with your own bathroom. This is like a hotel! Clean room, comfortable bed and a great shower/bathroom. They clean your room daily. Nice common area by the reception. Here you can just chill, have a drink, work or play pool. The staff is really friendly and helpful, there's just a nice atmosphere in the reception. Close by there are plenty of cool cafés, bars and restaurants. Next time in Berlin we'll definitely stay here!

In its category, this hostel is definitely one of the best. The 4 bed dorm is very pleasant. The location is just Amazing. Breakfast is pretty nice too and very convenient even if there arz a lot of choices around too. Nice welcome at the reception. Definitely good place to recommend

Hostels tend to be messy, dirty or not comfortable. However Pfefferbett is a serious attempt to push this stereotype away and it worked! Being realistic of what do you expect in hostels, this one really could give a near hotel experience :) The staff are amazing and you can see that in how they genuinely treat each other or the guests. Alisa is the best; she made my stay a lot more enjoyable and interesting. Magda has a great smile and helped me with my late check-out. However be careful of one rude cold guy! I think his name was Ginnaro. This hostel has excellent clean facilities. It could get quite up there however the staff and guests (with a bit of luck) could really keep your company there! Thanks for the hospitality guys. PS: Ginnaro is a nice guy. Only cuz he got lot of positive reviews and was bragging about it, that WE decided to troll the guy XD.

Ein super Hostel. Mein Doppelzimmer war geräumig, sehr sauber, funktionell und schön eingerichtet. Für mich besonders wichtig: ein bequemes, großes Bett - auch das war gegeben. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das freundliche Personal - ob morgens früh oder abends ganz spät. Alle sehr hilfsbereit und haben auch gute Tipps. Die Rezeption ist 24/7 besetzt, es gibt immer einen Ansprechpartner und damit auch immer die Möglichkeit, etwas zu trinken an der Bar zu holen. Sehr gut, da es keine Minibar auf dem Zimmer gibt. Das optionale Frühstück ist reichhaltig und auch von der Qualität richtig gut. Das hatte ich schon in vielen Hotels nicht so gut. Es gibt eine Außenterrasse vorne und auch hinter dem Gebäude mit kleinem Garten, alles gepflegt und gemütlich. Das Hostel ist nur 2 Minuten von der U-Bahn Haltestelle entfernt (U2), man kann aber auch viel zu Fuß machen. Geschäfte und Restaurants sind für jeden Geschmack auch direkter Umgebung. Ich komme echt gerne wieder.

Auch als Senioren Paar übernachten wir nur dort. Es ist ein tolles internationales Publikum, die Zimmer sind modern und sehr sauber. Man sollte Englisch beherrschen dann kann man auch leicht Kontakt mit allen knüpfen. Frühstück ist lecker und reichhaltig. Die Straßenbahn ist in ca. 2 min zu erreichen, es liegt zentral aber ist sehr ruhig. Parkplatz gegen Gebühr. Alle aus unserer Familie übernachten dort.

Strategically placed in the city center. The area of the hostel is a former beer brewery. They have great service and I enjoyed the breakfast. If I go back to Berlin I would consider this hostel again.

A very cozy and clean place with the nicest personnel. I needed a stay outside the check-in and check-out times but they accommodated my request. Each room with shared beds has their own bathroom and shower. The rooms have individual lockers. WiFi is good. Towel (with additional charge) and hair dryer can be requested at reception. I highly recommend this place.

The single rooms are simple but comfy with nice bathrooms. The environment is a cool courtyard, vibrant at night but the hostel is quiet. Perfect location to explore the city!

By far the best hostel I have ever stayed, the breakfast is really good and the rooms are neat and clean especially the vibe over there is amazing, I have to tell about the front desk staff, they are very helpful, especially beautiful lady Magda was very helpful, she explained me the routes in a very easy way even I was in a hurry to catch the bus, this kind of customer service is expected in every Hostel, you are the best guys, the luggage storage was free, overall its the best.

I got a large double room for myself and my friend staying in a single room. My double was very spacious, and even a little more space than needed. I think it was a dorm that had only one bed. The hotel was very close to the U bahn and easy to get into the city. The breakfast was good for a hostel, and the bar was open late. Staff was helpful.

Beautiful hostel, kind and supportive staff, perfectly clean rooms, functional and well designed bathrooms, great open spaces and games, and the infrastructure is outstanding. There is only one thing to consider: with the windows opened, the voice and noises of the people outside (bar) can be heard quite loud. This may be an issue in really hot days, when you want everything open. With windows closed, no noise at all. I would definitely recommend this place and it’s in my list to go back again. Note: my stay was in a 4 bed room with private bathroom.

Listen I didn’t stay here, I only went to say Hi to a friend, but the employees at the door were so kind and cool, and the ambience was amazing! Great common room! I’ve had a Hostel phase and I can easily say this is the best kind of hostel.

The location is incredibly convenient, and the hostel was exceptionally tidy. Additionally, the front desk staff were extremely helpful. However, it's worth noting that the room was a little cold.

Oh I had an amazing experience with this hostel ! The rooms are comfortable and nice, people who work there are so nice ! If you have any problem you can come to them and they will find a solution. You’re welcome with smiles, joy and happy atmosphere. If you don’t know what to do they can also give you a list with restaurants, bars, museums etc to do and try. I’m sure I’ll come back in this place for my next trip in Berlin. I can assure you to go there. I also met nice people there so you won’t be alone but you want your plivate place it’s also ok

Vorab möchte ich sagen: ich bin kein Hostel Freund. In meiner Vorstellung sitzen dort Morgens Drei Schulklassen und sind am rumschreien. Vom Pfefferbetthostel sind wir jedoch sehr überzeugt. Da die Kartenterminals bei Check in nicht funktionieren, wollte man uns das Frühstück dazu schenken, welches wir aber bereits gebucht hatten. Also gab es Zwei Freigetränke für die 24h bar und Zwei Mal Berliner Luft. Die Longdrinks an der Bar kosten nur 7€ und nach dem zweiten war ich Bettfertig! Alleinsein muss man hier wirklich nicht. Die Mitarbeiter sind immer für einen Schnack bereit. Des weiteren ist das Personal freundlicher und zuvorkommender als in manch anderen angesagten Hotel. Billard, Tischfußball und Dart stehen zur Verfügung. Die U-Bahn halt direkt vor dem Hostel. Auf dem Zimmer gibt es keinen Fön, jedoch kann man diesen an der Rezeption ausborgen.

Hab mich sehr wohl gefühlt!! Jeder Mensch dort ist einfach super lieb. Zimmer sauber und das Frühstück für 8,60€ auch super, da auf Fleisch verzichtet wird! Komme gerne wieder.

Clean and well-maintained, love that the showers are spacious and have the rain shower function. Also love the neighbourhood, there are charming cafes and shops at every turn. However there was a crazy person in my dorm who made lots of noise and turned the lights on at odd hours of the morning, making it hard to get a restful night of sleep (apparently she slipped in even though the hostel had her blacklisted, by making the booking through a phone call)

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel, facilities were nice and clean and the location was great. We were happy with the standard of the hostel, rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Showers were also very good, lots of pressure and clean. The bar downstairs had a good atmosphere. Not all the staff were overly friendly but one staff member changed our opinion with his welcoming presence and friendly nature. Overall it is a great hostel with lovely facilities and easy to get around Berlin from. Would definitely recommend.

The location of the hostel is good. There are some supermarkets, restaurants and bars nearby. The room I stayed in was fair. There was a housekeeping lady cleaning it up everyday. The bathroom is inside the room. It is small but functional. the ladder to upper bed is a little bit high and inconvenient. I read a lot of good reviews about the hostel staff. However, I got frustrating experience with them. A receptionist who is a middle age guy who wears glasses came to the room with me to doublecheck if the lower bed I wanted to take is available or not. I really appreciate that. However, when he entered the room, he talked very loudly so that woke up a lady who was sleeping. I had to apologize to that lady for what he did. In addition, after all other people checked out. I asked another receptionist if it is possible for me to switch to a lower bed. She said to me that all beds have been fully booked. I totally understand that. Nonetheless, some people who just checked in said to me that they were told that they can choose any bed they want. She was right that the beds were fully booked, but I found that it was not impossible to move me to a lower bed. She just did not bother to do so. It was a little bit disappointing.

Cool place to stay with a funky bar downstairs. I really like the area that the hostel is in, there’s lots to do and it’s easy to travel to other suburbs from here. The beds were clean and comfy and the rooms stayed warm when heated. Only downside is the bathrooms are in the rooms and with 6-8 people in a room this is not super ideal.

Best Hostel in Berlin hands down

We had a good experience. We were in a 6 beds bunkers sharing room for a friend’s bachelorette trip. Hostel very clean and reception people are very friendly and helpful.

Amazing first time hostel experience. The room was great and the shower was super nice. Had a great evening and allot of shots. Drink prices are great too.

The hostel is in a great, quiet location! You're close to the busy Alexanderplatz and the hip & vibrant area around the Mauerpark. The room (6 female dorm) was spacious enough. You get your own locker which closes with a automatic system (connected to your roomcard). In the room there is a bathroom & seperate toilet. If both are occupied, there's also a shared bathroom & toilets. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you out with their own tips! There is also a possibility to rent bikes (€13 per day), which is very convenient! The bikes are also of good quality. A downside to the hostel is that there is no kitchen. It also can be noisy (people talking) in front of the hostel.

Stayed in a 4-bed mixed bedroom, everything was great Hostel was clean and rooms are well-equipped. Would totally recommend this to anybody!

It is a hotel for a hostel price in a nice neighborhood, close to U-bahn and A-platz.

Pfefferbett is the place you want to be. For the price you are paying, you cannot get a cooler atmosphere. Clean rooms, clean beds, clean shower. Very lively common room. They even brew their own beer. It’s a smaller hostel compared to some others, so make sure you extend your stay earlier rather than later so your bed isn’t booked out if you want to stay longer.

I really enjoyed my stay at Pfefferbett. Staff was very helpful. The community was very nice, and you can socialize easily. Apart from that, I have never had such a soft mattress is a hostel :D

A great hostel to stay while in Berlin. I was a solo traveler, chose to stay in a dorm and met some cool girls there. The location of the hostel is also great, the neighborhood is very cute with a variety of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and bakeries for you to choose from. It is a very safe neighborhood and it offers easy access to the center by metro. When you get there, take the stairs that have a Pfefferberg sign and right behind the theatre is the hostel, pretty tricky to find it at first. I really miss playing pool with some fellow travelers. All in all I had a great time and I'd choose it again if I visited.

Great hostel in a fantastic area - supermarket and tram stop across the road, lots of really cool bars outside and great vibes in the hostel with pool and a hang out area inside and out. I recommend the locally brewed IPA at the bar.

Travelling with my son to Berlin for a city sightseeing break, I was deciding between to go with a regular hotel or a hostel. I was afraid a regular hotel would be impersonal. We ended up at the Pfefferbett and we couldn’t praise the place highly enough. The guys working in reception very so welcoming and lovely, always ready with a smile and with advice on places to eat/things to do for adults and kids alike. The vibe in the hostel was very chilled out and my son really enjoyed the ping pong. The rooms were basic but super clean, lovely view over the courtyard and pretty well sound insulated. The breakfast was lovely and beautifully laid out every morning. All in all, highly recommend and looking forward to coming back again.

Probably one of my favorites: excellent staff, the breakfast for 7€ is generous. There’s also a free pool table and a very good Wi-Fi, except outside in the garden. Recommend!

location is good. the area has several bars nearby. the place is kept clean cooking is not possible. the rooms have no ventilation. the environment and other guests are very unpleasant. The room cleaners are terrible. They come in at 9am and make a lot of noise. they don't care if there are people resting. disrespectful

Great stay at the hostel. Clean and I received great service from Alex/Alec. There is public transport just outside of the hostel and its a quiet neighbourhood. Definitely also recommend the buffet because there's a wide range of food.

Generally a pretty good hostel, but I would look elsewhere in summer. Our stay coincided with a heatwave (~35c during the day), and while we didn’t expect A/C or a fan, we expected that we would be able to open the windows for ventilation and for some cooler air in the evenings. However, the windows did not open, and when I asked the desk for a key to open them, they told me they had lost them and couldn’t do anything. I told him this wasn’t acceptable as my girlfriend was ill and needed to rest, and the heat was preventing this, and in response the staff member tried to offer me a complimentary beer as compensation. I asked if they had a spare fan, and the staff member said the only one they had was for staff only. For the price this hostel charges for a private room, they should have hired a locksmith and had them create a new set. Our windows faced the sun, and so when we returned home each evening the room would be close to 30c inside, even with the curtains drawn all day. There was no way to cool the room at night (it was very well insulated, I am sure it is very comfortable in winter!), and consequently we struggled to sleep for the duration of our stay. Obviously this is only an issue during hotter periods, but it is something to be aware of nonetheless. All other aspects of the hostel were good, and I otherwise recommend staying here.

Stayed here once in 2018, and again now. Great rooms, amazing 24hr service (the staff is super nice), and a really good location. Great bars/food/stuff going on within walking distance. I'll always stay here whenever I come back

Best Hostel in Berlin!!! Absolutely incredible staff, the most friendly people ever. Especially Lisa, Magda, Alex and Patrick. Fun pool table to hang around, cheap craft beer from the hostel, and the great night shift staff. The rooms super clean, great bathrooms (inside the rooms). 10/10

It is the only Hostel I stayed in Berlin and the only I will never somewhere else if I am in Berlin. I don't want any other option. Pfefferbett Hostel is two stops from the toerist attractions but is located in a quieter more local neighbourhood. The staff is always ready to help and is super nice. The beds are good and the prices resonable. There is a theater right next to the hostel and a lot to experience just across the hostel. The only point of critic maybe is that I find the music afwul in the morning. I really don't like it. last night one of the staff members played some dub that was really nice.

It is a really nice hostel. It's really clean and the rooms are really great. A big toilet room and shower room. The shared area was also really good and their breakfast buffet was 👌. The place however is not the best. It's far away from most tourist attractions and the main station.

Had been there in the start of December with a friend of mine. One of the best hostels in Berlin. Staff is amazing, Liza and one guy that’s speaks Italian are great. Will for sure come again.

This hostel had the most inappropriate receptionist I have ever met. A locker number was given at check-in but the bed is which ever available so the positions are fairly random. My lock was next to someone else’s bed who had a huge bag but the room had no other space to keep it. It was very heavy and I couldn’t take my stuffs out. Next morning when other travellers checked out and two lockers were emptied, I explained to reception and asked that there two lockers emptied now, can you give me a new one that’s accessible. The receptionist was very stubborn and kept saying you can change bed but not locker. I explained multiple times i can’t use the one I was given, in the end the communication turned into a fight because she said to me “do me a favour and leave”.“you have a lock and a bed I don’t see a problem, you can leave and come back. I give you other lockers then other people will get a lock she can’t usezYou are blocking all the people behind you who can’t check-in. It’s all your fault they can’t stay with us. You can speak to my manager.” I had shows booked there is no point missing it for this receptionist.I don’t think she was using her brain and probably was racist as well. For a white male I wonder if she’d talk the same way. She should prioritise guests who are already here and offer help instead of taking the side of imagined guests without even checking if the room was even fully booked at all for that day. Her colleague has offer no support for me neither. This hostel is not nice and very cold. If you can’t check people in that’s because your reception is incompetent and not because your guest has asked for help. It’s like they take it for granted whatever rudeness cant impact their business so it’s fine to bully guests when it’s convenient for them not to do their work properly. I booked this place to spend my birthday with friends during weekend and I didn’t not like this place. AT ALL.
