Worst experience I ever had in a hostel: - Had to pay €5 for bed sheets - Only 3 outlets for 10 people room - Shared a 10 people room with a bathroom, and the shower kept always flooding because the drain was always clogged, so the bathroom's floor was always wet. And one time flooded the whole room!! - Room very dark and without ac - Every night, there was a fight for the beds cause the beds weren't reserved properly The only good thing: - Breakfast surprisingly decent

My friends and I booked two rooms at Metropol Hostel in Berlin, but to our dismay, we were all crammed into a single room with bunk beds. The room was unbearably hot with no ventilation whatsoever. The only window could be opened just a crack, which was highly insufficient for 14 people in the middle of summer. We had to resort to cooling ourselves off in the distant bathroom, located three long corridors away from our room. To make matters worse, when we requested towels, they were nowhere to be found, despite having paid for them. Frustrated with the situation, we immediately started searching for alternative accommodation on our first night and demanded a refund for the remaining nights. However, the manager made every excuse imaginable to avoid giving us our money back. After a lot of hassle, he reluctantly provided us with an additional room for the following night. Nevertheless, we had already found another place to stay and were eager to escape from this filthy, rundown hole as soon as possible. I strongly advise against anyone considering this hostel and, therefore, give it the lowest possible rating.

The people who work here are nice. But the overall quality of the service is not great. And the display of 11 years old "awards" they got back in 2012 actually aren't all that reassuring - they make me think it's only been downhill since then. They will charge you for the bedding stuff (sheets and covers) and then make You have to put on the duvet and pillow covers. If they're going to charge me hidden fees at least provide a service in exchange! When you take a shower the water splatters everywhere even with the curtain closed. Instead of putting their logos on stuff that don't matter, they could have provided a mop for the bathroom — I mean that they focus on the illusion of "attention to detail" instead of actually paying attention to the experience of staying in their rooms. We got only 2 key cards for 4 people. It was ridiculously noisy we could not believe it. Day and night there were people making noises in the hallways. Cannot recommend unless you're a dirty hippie with no standards. Won't be returning here.

Eiskalt Dusche. Eiskalt. Die Badetücher sind sehr billig. Für 70€ kann mal VIEL bessere in Berlin bekommen. Frühstück ist in Ordnung, obwohl das Brötchen auch billig ist. Der Kaffee ist schrecklich.

dirty rooms. they gave away our reservation we made months in advance and tried to cram 8 women into a 4 person room. there are better places to spend your money.

Dont do it, if you wanna stay here, think for a minute, dont do it i didnt know but the fourth floor, where i stayed for 3 nights(nightmares) war rafugee heim( Flüchtlinge) till 23:00 they are marching screaming playing sleep on the street you have better condition. d o n t d o i t

Well.. the hostel was a good place and the breakfast is also good... but the cleanliness is terrible. I don't know how they clean here, but the shower is really dirty and the floors are apparently dried with the residents' own towels🤢 This is not acceptable in any way! The good side, however, is that the staff here is really nice. -

I was looking for an affordable private room to stay in Berlin. I contacted the reception over the telephone and the receptionist was kind enough to help me reserve a room. I planned to stay at the hostel for only one night, but due to their excellent customer service, chill lounge and affordable rooms. I extended my trip and stay for three nights. I am pleased that I choose this hostel, and will be staying again whenever I am back in Berlin. Highly Recommended!

We have been here for two weeks now. It has good things and bad things. Well, it has a good location ,it is so close to the U7, U6 and also near the s bahn and bus stop. It has a good breakfast, a nice lobby and caring staff. But the rooms are old, and you can hear all the noises coming from the other rooms. We are a high school student group so it is suitable for us. But if you are a family maybe you can choose another one.

I love the hotel! I went with my rugby club to play and we stayed there, the rooms were comfortable and clean, the bathroom was enough and didn't need any improvements, for the service I would like more options for breakfast since it's pretty limited, the location was very nice but a bit far from everywhere we all went, Overall 5 star experience!

I got a room with 7 of my friends in 31 degrees weather. No air-cooler, tiny rooms, bad breakfast, and all around bad beds. If you want a warm breakfast there is a small pizza man down and to the left selling a huge pizza slice for 3 eur (remember to put the sauce on it it really enhanced the flavour). The nice showers definitely made the room go from a 1 to a 2.5. Horrible view from my room and people partying in the yard until 1 am while the staff did nothing.

Great place in the center of Berlin everyone can afford a room here and it's great for a couple of days if you're in Berlin for a quick stop like we were. Great personel and breakfast is included

Good location, not too far from from all the highlights when using the U-bahn right next to the hostel. Staff was very friendly, and made sure the hostel was quiet at night. The food however was a little below standards. The breakfast was very minimal and tasted off. Make sure to bring an extension cord or power strip, because there is a limited number of outlets.

Worst hostel I ever visited. Very expensive compared to others in Berlin, despite its much lower quality. Disorder, old structure, absent or very bad furnitures and beds. Same price for rooms with and without bathroom. Indecent bathrooms, with one lavabo broken out of two. Only two dirty toilets for the whole floor. Only positive thing is the position, with metro station just outside the entrance, and many places to eat nearby.

A bit shabby. There are no bed slats, just a flimsy piece of plastic to support the madres. Also no signs to tell housekeeping not to enter the room, we told the guy "don't come in" but he didn't care about our request. There's was actually a 3-4 different administrative people accessing our room. Even though we didn't want visitors.

Actually pretty good in term of price and location. Igor and Mithu were super nice and helpful. The private room for 3 we got was spacious. We lacked charging points and the TV was not used (couldn't understand where to branch it) but we didn't care to ask for it at front desk as we were on our phones most of the time. Location is perfect. Metro accessible just seconds away. Best gemuse kebab of Berlin right above and great supermarket open all night long.

The rooms were spacious. The hotel location is right at the center and you can get public transport easily. Staff were super nice and friendly. There was no problem with the cleanliness and the breakfast was super aswell.. The night time was very quiet and if there is a problem just ask on the reception and they will help you. After all good in terms of price and location.

I had a wonderful stay at metropol hostel. The workers are very friendly and helpful. They took their time to direkt me to the airport. The lobby is 24 hr open you can get all kind of drinks, they have a big TV wher we watched the football match. The breakfast was great everything was fresh, the fresh cheese 🧀 was very amazing. When I cam Berlin again I will visit you guy or even stay with you again. The price was very reasonable aswell.

one electrical contact in a room for 6 people, one of the windows fell out and we struggled to fix it, doors to the bathroom dont fully close, the shower doors are broken, the bathroom smell of fungus to the point of us not even wanting to open the door to the bathroom because the smell was everywhere. there was one soap packet for 6 people. no towels, you have to take your own towel with you if u want to shower. also the bathroom was very dark :( location is very good. we had breakfast at the hostel and it was okay too. wont be coming back there.

If you are exploring Berlin and just need a simple location to rest your head. Transportation is right outside of the door (metro) they offer a free breakfast, the dorm style rooms are nothing special, but it’s a place to rest your head. Then the food options are great & within a few steps is the best kebab shop in the city, and don’t sleep on the Korean bbq shop either. And there is a bio grocery store close also.

I was really pleased. The all worker were really friendly. The door was really clean and the food was very tasty. Transportation is easy from anywhere. I will prefer it again when I come to Berlin.

The room was real clean and breakfast exelent

I really did not enjoy this place. It is a maze of corridors with a lot of rooms you may find it difficult to get to your room for the first time (unfortunately no one is coming to show your room). The bathrooms are dark and dirty and you find no soap or paper towels there. The staffs are nice but they could not solve the problem with my online booking so i had to pay there again amd hope that i have not paid twice. With almost the same price you can find much much better hostels in Berlin. I stayed only one night and i left to another hostel immediately in the morning. P.s: if you really have to go to this hostel, do not book this place online

Location is great. Directly above U Mehringdamm: direct connection to Mitte, very close to Bergmannkiez and Kreuzberg. We booked a double bedroom with private bathroom, which was clean and totally sufficient for two people. The staff was really nice and helpful, whenever there were issues. There‘s a 24h reception. Breakfast was underwhelming, not many vegetarian/vegan options. We had issues with our door lock twice, the keycard did not work, so the staff had to fix the problem, which went well and fast. The shower was quite a rollercoaster, it always switched between hot and cold. Additionally they only offered small hand towels. The hostel is on the third and fourth floor of the building, however the elevator, was just not functioning most of the time we came back home. It was very nerve-wracking, since we always ended up walking upstairs with our hands full of stuff. Overall, I would recommend this hostel to people that don‘t need to spend much time in their room, but like to have the minimal amount of comfort. As said before, location was great to move around the city and we really did not have any major issues.

Very strategically located hostel just directly outside the nearest metro. A lot of budget eateries, funky street bars around and just a short walk to the main attractions. Rooms are clean and each room has individual toilets and baths. The elevator was always out of function but then it's all good if you can walk up the stairs. Staff is very friendly and helpful. PS. Spot a long queue downstairs of the hostel, try it.

Very good location and welcoming staff but I think these are really the only positives. The toilets were often dirty and they weren't even equipped with soap. The water in the shower was always cold, even icy, and the jets looked more like a mist than anything else. As for the rooms, lack of cleanliness of some young people but that is not the fault of the hostel. At breakfast I found it quite low quality. Juice tastes like sweet water with a tiny bit of aroma. On the other hand, one morning I found a hair on the edge of my cup. As for the common areas, they are rather clean and spaced, but it lacks many catches (just like in the rooms). In conclusion, I would advise you to pay a little more but you will certainly be better accommodated.

Great hostel in a superb location near Mehringdamm station that made it easy to get to and from many places in Berlin. The staff were helpful, the place clean and the included breakfast was delicious.

I did not stay in the hostal as they did not any available rooms but the staff was incredibly nice and friendly and let me and my bf charge our phones as they had ran out of battery for a bit. It was well located too

The rooms are very clean and the toilets were hygenic. The hostel is located in a very nice place in Berlin Kreuzberg snf the staff was also very nice the reception is open 24 hours a day. I will recommed this hostel to anyone who is Looking to have a short stay in Berlin.

Dodgy hostel.. Problematic check in because receptionist didn't know the system. Beds also weren't ready. Dirty restrooms. My friends' phone was stolen during the day. We knew what time and they promised to look at security tapes but never did nor called back. AVOID THIS PLACE.

I wouldn't recommend it. The cleaning service during our stay was terrible. We stayed in for five days and they didn't ever wipe the floor , nor use clorus for the bathroom. Plus the elevator didn't work for like three days in a raw. We had to go go down the stairs from the fourth floor with our luggage. Not nice staying at Metropol

Cool place to stay in Berlin. I stayed for a weekend with a bunch of friends. I think it is a best buy. The rooms were clean, as well as the lining and the bathroom. There is also a more than decent breakfast from 7 to 10. Mustafa Kebab is just downstairs if you are still hungry. U-Bahn station is also just in front. I came by car and found free parking just a street away. As a downside our windows could not be closed properly, but I can't complain it was cold or to loud. Maybe it it cand get to cold in the winter.

The key of the room is a magnetic card that works no very well. The toilet inside the room for 6 people has no any ventilation. The lift stop to work between 22:00 and 9:00. And expensive in comparison with others like Rix Hostel wich offers better service for less money

Worst Hostel in Berlin. Feels like being an animal over there. Discount Elevator from Lidl. One week operational, the other week defects. And its kind of a problem because all rooms are at 3rd and 4th floor. Hot water? Half day you have the other half you don't. Or maybe you dont have the whole week and either you freeze with a cold shower at winter, or you boil water and do it like in the 20s with a bucket. Old school!! I would never ever choose it again...

The most comfortable bed I've slept in for years. Good for a short stay. Colourful, bright rooms and lots avaliable for breakfast. Only downside was the bathroom stank of smoke and the shower room has no where to hang towels/clothes. Staff were friendly, wifi signal strong depending on which floor you're on :)

The location of my hostel is really good. There is a metro stop right in front of it, but it is very bad in terms of cleanliness. We stayed for 2 days, during this time they never cleaned the room, it was very dirty and bad. Especially the bathroom and toilet were really dirty. It came out well below our expectations.

Breakfast is horrible absolutely not worth it. When u go to the suitcase room nobody is watching what you’re doing and there is no camera. My thing was stolen there. Location is good. Besides one girl and one older gentamicin staff is super unfriendly and they don’t care about you. Won’t go there again

I booked for couple of nights, the stay was amazing. The place is very lively. The staff at the hostel is very customer friendly. I would highly recommend this hostel for a stay in Berlin.

This hostel is the definition of terrible. The shower was stinking. The drainage system was really bad, and the rooms were not clean at all. The breakfast was ok, but there are not a lot of options. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hostel because this is the worst hostel I have ever been to.

Simplistic rooms, but they are perfectly fine. Breakfast is well arranged. It is basic, but i have had an a-okay stay.

Sleeping here was an interesting experience I don't want to do another time. Cons: - beds base are made of plastic sheets - shower floods the whole bathroom (not a big problem because the bathroom misses everything) - no shower drainage - no shower towels (extra small towels are 1 euro per each one) - a broken window made us sleep with an uncomfortable breeze - noisy as hell - funny details like a broken cupboard (you could see the fist mark) and some suspect stains in the curtains - no room service Pro: - Nice position, literally 7 steps from the ubahn (U7 and U6)

We are here with our school classes for the 3. time, but it will be our last. The allocation is great - but Again we didn't get the numbers of rooms that we were promised. They are putting more and more beds in the rooms. The hallways are noisy all night and security doesn't help. The place are getting more and more worn out and dirty.

Verstehen die ganzen negativen Rezensionen gar nicht. Hatten erst gelesen, nachdem wir gebucht haben und haben bei den schlimmen Rezensionen überlegt gar nicht hinzufahren. Zu unserer Überraschung war das Zimmer komplett sauber und der Service vor Ort sehr nett. WLAN war besser als zu Hause und die ganze Zeit verfügbar. Im Fernsehen konnte man zwar nur Verkaufsfernsehej gucken, für uns aber kein Problem. Die Lage war super. Man war in weniger als 10 Minuten im Zentrum. Nicht zu vergessen war Mustafas Gemüsekebap direkt vor der Tür. War lecker. Insgesamt sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Würden definitiv wiederkommen.

The shower curtain fell down when I showered so it flooded the whole bathroom. Toilet didn’t flush and sink was clogged. Dirty, crusty and broken. The windows didn’t close. Rooms were very cold. Think I got depression from staying here.

Lage perfekt , leichter Checkin, wir waren absolut positiv überrascht. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Und wir werden vermutlich im Januar nochmals dort wohnen. Ich würde auf jeden Fall weiter Empfehlen bis nächste mal
