A truly amazing place to spend a few hours learning the incredible history of Arizona, and the extraordinary woman, Sharlot Hall, responsible for preserving so much of this history! Also has beautiful outdoor gardens! A really worthwhile place to visit, worth your time.

What a great experience for kids and adults alike! If you’re a history buff this is for you! Both indoor and outdoor features with several of the buildings having A LOT to see and read. The staff really goes above and beyond to make this a fun visit for kids with a scavenger hunt, and small features in several buildings to get kids touching and feeling things. The open air and space of it helps it to feel much more aloof than just another standard Museum visit.

The Sharlot Hall Museum was so nice to visit! There was so many historical artifacts to see, ranging from natural history, Native American History, and Western history. We especially enjoyed walking through the Governor's Mansion and Fremont House. It was so fun to see what our everyday products used to look like in the 1800s. The docents were friendly and informative. Highly recommended stop while visiting Prescott!

This was a very interesting and educational little spot. Took us over 2 hours to get through but we watched a few videos and read lots of plaques. There were friendly attendants everywhere eager to offer up knowledge. My daughter really enjoyed the scavenger hunt. I learned more than I thought I would here including a random fact: George Washington was 6'4"! Great place to come with or without kids!

Everyone was very friendly, informative and helpful. A must stop when visiting Prescott! Great pricing as well. It was great for me and the kids really enjoyed seeing the historical buildings, vehicles and items. Nice gift shop as well. Pricing is on their website as well as their open/closed times. It was so great seeing these items in person.

Awesome museum! Absolutely beautiful! Took the wife and kids there on a Saturday. Cool and old style buildings, they have people in some of the buildings telling their history. The bathrooms are nice and well maintained. Also they have their own parking lot which is nice since they are located off a fairly busy street with parallel parking. Whiskey row is just down the street where you can get drinks and food.

A fascinating museum with old buildings and interesting exhibits that give one a better understanding of life in the not too distant past in Arizona.

Interesting little museum, doesn’t take much time to get through. We spent $24 for 2 adults and we were there less then 1/2 hr. Employees were friendly and the rose garden was lovely.

What a beautiful place. Just a real treat to find a place close to downtown. I spent about an hour walking and looking then left to eat lunch. Afterwards went back and spent another 2 hours looking at the rest. Worth the cost to get in.

Lovely and educational. Only wish volunteers would walk around. We had a family of unruly kids kicking on the glass, dropping water bottles on exhibits. Yuck

I loved it! My wife and I went earlier in the day and I was amazed at all of the exhibits there are a total of 9 buildings. And we spent over a hour in just one of them. Will have to return again to truly appreciate the stories told. One of the best parts of our visit to Prescott!

One of the coolest museums i've been. This open air museum has the original governors mansion built in that location and was home to the governor of the territory of Arizona. It also has old farmhouses and so many other cool things. The gift shop is stocked with amazing things to help you remember your trip. It is located around several good restaurants. So much to see, I've been 3 times and I am already planning a trip back!

Wonderful museum about the history of Arizona, dating back to prehistoric times. Many informative exhibits. We learned so much about the state we call home! Highly recommend.

We came from Phoenix for a Living History event and it was so worth the trip! Beautiful grounds with a Memorial Rose Garden honoring the towns influential women. Multiple pioneer buildings with Volunteers in character telling you about life during the era. We especially loved hearing a gentlemen explain to us in detail what it would have been like travelling on a horse drawn coach through the southwest. The printing press was super cool and they let my son print a newspaper page. Also the woman explaining medical practices of the day and showing different tools and their uses was very interesting and personable. We got there an hour after it started- so about 11 am, till the Event was over at 3. We should have come earlier because it was not long enough to see everything. Our kids were super interested in everything too. Absolutely will be back sooner than later!

Excellent museum. What really made the experience positive for our kids was the scavenger hunt and fantastic volunteer guides placed at strategic points who gave great insights and involved the kids with cool questions.

Very Educational, Beautifully done ! This is a 2 ½ - 3 hour museum self guided tour (with someone at each building to give history). The people were very nice and ready to answer any questions you may have. I definitely recommend going to Sharlot Hall Museum.

The grounds/gardens are immaculate. Every docent was friendly and knowledgeable. Children under 12 are Free! I was very impressed with the indigenous portion of the museum and the short film about the hilltop sites. This is a MUST SEE when visiting Prescott.

As a historian, I visit a lot of museums. This is one of my favorites! It is so fascinating, and the volunteer tour guides are wonderful -- especially Allan Cooper. He is so passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Sharlot Hall and the Prescott area. I would be happy to have him teach me any topic he is interested in! I visited the museum on a whim because I was in Prescott visiting a friend and waiting for her to get done with work -- I live in Michigan, but I will absolutely be going back to the museum the next time I am in town!
