disrespectful staff treated me like a sack of meat. my bike got robbed and the only thing they did was shrugged their shoulders and told me "Unlucky". 7 bikes have been stolen in the past week and I've only been there for a week. i bought 2 bikes and they have both been robbed and with my third bike they stole my spokes and my dignity. whilst I am doing my sets the lifeguards always come and take the weights off you. if you try and go for a swim they force you to put armbands on and don't stop staring at you. i tried to go in the sauna after my workout but Nathan Higham was sat in there with a boogie bomb waiting to jump me. the attached video contains a wild David Bedford viewer discretion is advised. the form used in this video gave my son nightmares and he would often complain about the mans lack of hair. when i try to locate a free locker i often find the same man sat eating chips inside of them.

Nice total fitness. Has everything you need. Not as big as Wilmslow but decent size and not too busy at 5pm. Could do with an extra bench in free weights area. Plates are not as new as in Altrincham or Wilmslow. Will come back when local You need to enter your car registration for free parking on some tablets near the changing rooms. This requirement is really not made clear when you walk in and I would suggest the staff put a sign near the entrance scanner - I can see from reviews a few people got caught out!

Cleanliness has gone downhill , items not being fixed when broken , gym manager hides I his office which has moved upstairs so no one can find him popular drinks not being replaced ,cold showers ,no assessment like used to be to help people that are not confident and want to lose weight, no equipment lone for swimmers, and no where to put swim equipment so you don't have to bring it in everyday .swimmers pay same rate as gym and class members but don't get same equipment. And I aswell as lot of people ate scared the pools going to closed also think they are using lack of chlorine a way to get out of it it's going to be cost of heating the pool and the gym mental health is bad enough as it is without closing pools and gyms down.

Excellent facilities, maybe one of the best in Preston however, the customer service is lacking. When things break here from simple door locks, lockers, boxing equipment, you can forget about using them anytime soon. Even after highlighting the issues no response from management or higher up the food chain. If you want to use the facilities in your lunch break, you can also forget about that as they have cleaning ongoing and the hilarious thing is that the cleaning especially the sauna steam rooms have no specific time,it's based around the staff rota. Basically they don't care if you want to use the facilities in your lunch break. Anything breaks in this place,it seems to never get fixed, you have to wait for 6 months or so even if its the simplist of things, believe me iam not making this up. The customer service is farcical. Another thing the advertise that they close at 10pm, but in fact the sauna and steam swimming pool all close at 9:30pm. I can't understand why they can't clean up before opening and after closing. They charge a premium rate but unfortunately, even though the gym facilities are great they don't provide a premium service or customer service, even after highlighting the above issues by email,no response to date as if to say we don't care. I would recommend taking your business somewhere where they actually care and value your custom. It's very sad ,such a great gym with everything you need, just poor and diabolical customer service.

machines are left broken and out of use for days sometimes weeks, limited plates and equipment. ice bath is always out of use, the lifeguard james atkinson (i think hes recently employed ) keeps staring at me and its making me uncomfortable, the same with nathan higham

Please fix your steam room. Why do members have to resort to bringing in little plastic bags to cover the thermostat to get some steam, I have mentioned this to your staff now for over 6 months, it’s daming when they agree that it’s bad and they can do nothing about it. The manager does nothing and say “ it is way it is”

I do like this gym, the staff are friendly and helpful and the place is kept pretty clean. If you intend to cycle to the gym I would say don't bother, the cycle racks are not fit for purpose and a member of staff told me they get a lot of bike thefts from there (come on Total Fitness it's not expensive to put decent racks there)! Hydrotherapy pool is good and car parking is never a problem. The Cafe is pretty good for snacks and drinks too.

My husband was asked to leave the spinning class on Tuesday because he was late, he immediately left because the instructor showed him up in front of the class, our friends said she was obviously on a power trip. I was also very embarrassed when a parent from our nursery school told me about the incident. I went in to speak with the manager after waiting nearly an hour, to explain it could’ve been dealt with in a more professional manner. He said he would look into it, after ringing again today for an update still no answers to why the instructor was so rude… never mind plenty of other gyms we can join in the area without being insulted!!!!

If it weren’t for a decent pool and the plentiful equipment I’d be long gone. The majority of staff have little or no interpersonal skills. Try and engage with a hello, goodbye or thank you but just totally ignored. Too busy laughing and joking with each other. That said there are 1 or 2 who are friendly, but in the minority

Same layout and very similar aspects IMO to the Bolton GYM. Pic of car park sign so need to enter REG in GYM on arrival. Usual friendly high standard that have come to expect from this gym chain.

So iv been a member for 10 months tried taking my 4month old baby in the pool I had to use one of my passes which I don’t mind but then I had to use another for my mrs just for her to sit at the side and watch our boy in the pool for all of the 10mins he’s in there . Then whilst I’m the pool my mrs got one of the noodle floats off the side for my son to hold on to and the young female lifeguard come over and told her to put it back as it’s for the classes (we’ll they should be locked away) I will NOT be renewing my pass in the future I wouldn’t mind the facilities aren’t any better than other gyms and for nearly £50 p/m there definitely not any cheaper than any of the gyms

The BESTEST health club ever. Absolutely loved this place. I visited this place for a workout and a swim while passing through Lancashire, and I so wish there was a health club just like this one where I live. It is like a huge mini-indoor arena that combines all kinds of fitness stuff from weights area and HIIT training to swim and athletic running track, all in one! If you imagine you are going to a big house, it's not like there is a sitting room, then a study room, then an entertainment room, then the kitchen next and the bathroom after. It's like all-in-one big open plan. When I was there (a weekday evening), it was packed, and the lighting was a bit more dim than how it looks in photos (loved it - and those who are a little shy with their body shape would also love it), so it's like when you go dancing, it's not a small place with half a dozen or so people watching you. It's like a huge club packed with dozens and dozens - if not hundreds - dancing like no one's watching, so if you're a bit more aware and self-conscious of your body shape, it can help, as you are just one in so many in a huge place. Also loved the clean and nice changing area and shower (for women at least - don't know about men's but I have no reason to doubt it would be any less), so that's a plus. So all of the above is pretty much 'Pro'. As for 'Con'? I can't think of any, but if I were to insist, the only feedback that I would say to the management is: "Please expand to other parts of the UK, and open your clubs like this one in Greater London and the South East!" Thank you.

It’s closing too early on weekends and weekdays as well. For the price we pay and it’s a 12 months contract it’s should have been 24/7 or at least on weekdays till 23:00 and on weekends till 21:00 It would be much appreciated.

The gym was better than I initially expected. Some of the equipment had some wear and tear rust on them. The pools were all nice. The steam rooms good enough. They could include some glasses for the water fountain. The reception lady that picked up my call could not answer my question and instead gave me false information, fortunately I was able to get the right information from her colleague.

Good gym, the only drawback is that they do not keep it as clean as it should be for a decent standard, and if something breaks it will take 4ever to get it fixed

Great gym, lovely staff who make the whole experience really comfortable. Everything you want from a gym with a pool and loads of classes. Couldn’t recommend it more!

I took my grandson who is nearly one swimming it was early morning so I would expect the changing rooms and the showers to be clean.I had such a bad experience. The Family changing room was dirty the changing facility was too. We got out of the pool as he was cold, the family shower was dirty it hadn’t been cleaned. I put him in the playpen whilst I got our clothes out of the locker It was wet with him dripping water. I got him dressed as he was blue with being cold, because the playpen was wet I had to sit him on the dirty floor whilst I got dressed on his towel and all his joggers got wet. I had to change them in the car with his spare ones. Not a good experience.

Really like this gym, they have a separate women’s section which is really handy. Only thing I’d say is opening times aren’t great, especially on weekends and the price point is a little high when comparing to other similar quality gyms in the area.

The swimming facilities are good (when they keep on top of the cleaning) the hydro pool is amazing The gym unfortunately is not great. The machines are old and rickety. I was on a squeaky bike with my headphones on and someone came over and begged me to move onto another one. The free weights section is tiny and overall not a well planned layout upstairs The ladies section is quite big and I like it. I got a sandwich from the 'healthy' cafe once. Despite it still having 2 days left on the sell by date the bread was super stale and the egg mayo was a dry block in the middle. There was one mouldy cherry tomato in the whole sandwich. Please do better!

Staff our lovely here especially the fitness coaches swimming facilities and changing areas are spotless you always see staff cleaning, checking the water too. I personally have joined with me and my daughter and would recommend. We use gym sauna swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Impressive layout as well as quantity and quality of choice of the machines as well as the service offered by the staff. Changing rooms are spotless and the pools most inviting to use.Sauna, steam room as well as a hydrotherapy pool available. Several various classes on offer to suit all tastes. By all accounts the membership fee warrants its cost due to the availability of all of the above. There is a relaxation area as well as a small cafe selling hot and cold drinks as well as nutritional foods.

Belta total fitness, main training site is aintree but often use this when I'm down preston ways, it's an absolute belta. Massive running track around the circumference of the gym, with loads of space in the middle for all the gym equipment, barbells and equipment. There's loads of equipment too, both machine and plate loaded. Big dumbbell rack with good range of weight too. Also functional / CrossFit style area too with rig, bumpers and other stuff. Nicely set out too.

Great facilities with everything you need to work out plus saunas, steam, solarium and hydropool for relaxing! Free weights area isn't huge but there are plenty of machines and lots of open space to carry weights to which is also encouraged.

They use ParkingEye for their car park. 'Free trial' cost me a fine as I wasn't told I needed to submit my reg plate. The gym made me come back in to get my proof of attendance which didn't even work. In reality they could just have it cancelled themselves, but they wont. Strange place.

Good gym and great staff. But the app is unfuctional to the point of frustration... Simple features like freeze membership and guest passes just don't work. Not acceptable in 2021

Just cancelled my membership....the facilities are great but location no longer suits. Would I recommend it.... absolutely....esp if you can get corporate membership or similar.

If I could give 0, I’d give a 0. During the pandemic this gym signed me up to the most expensive price and took the monthly payment out of my account twice. I ended up paying over £150 for a gym I never went to. I was staying for two months and then heading back to london. I wanted something short term and easy. It took me weeks to get the money they took back and never received a single apology for charging twice. Unprofessional, poorly run and certainly uneducated. Poor customer service as ‘ladies’ put the phone down on my three times. Definitely find yourself a better quality gym.

I go for the classes at this gym and I have just started attending The Boxing training class with Brett the personal trainer. What a great work out. Brett knows his stuff and very professional.

Trail session. For me and my 2 children. Firstly had concerns about how a member of staff was still allowed to work after allegations of a safeguarding issue against a female member. I was informed head office know and he has not been suspended pending an investigation so there is a chance this could happen again. Review on their Facebook page. The gym itself is okay. With a family section (a lot of older men like to use) and upstairs is for older. There is a female only room with minimal equipment but the heat alone makes you walk straight out after entering. Now for the price . For myself a 8 year old and a 10 year-old not far off £100 a month. I was in absolute shock. I was told covid made the business suffer so no discounts and they have increased prices to recoup. I didn't get to use everything is the small session but it was not worth that a month at all. I was told I would be getting a call from another member of staff 2 days later but that was w weeks ago. Overall - if they can't protect their member or charge a reasonable amount then best avoid.

Love this place the atmosphere is fantastic and everyone is friendly

  • 5/5 Darryl H. 2 years ago on Google
Impressed with the set up of the equipment and layout. The three pools are most welcoming, in particular the hydrotherapy pool, which is helping my joints and muscles. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is very refreshing, as there are no stigmas when enquiring about help through exercise and what the gym has to offer. Beware that when the gym says it closes at a particular time, IT DOES. This mens having to preempt your shower and change of clothes before the closing time. Glad to have finally found a means in which I can help myself function a little bit better, rather than suffer at the hands of Arthritis all of the time.

  • 5/5 MillyMei M. 2 years ago on Google
Staff were very helpful with sorting my membership for me. I love using the swimming pool and the hydrotherapy pool. I love using their ladies only section of the gym too because that is great

  • 5/5 Anthony T. 2 years ago on Google
A great gym with all the facilities I could ever ask for. Great staff who are friendly and helpful. It's a bit pricey but worth the money if you make good use of everything they have to offer. If you're just looking to use weights and nothing else, I would recommend a cheaper gym. But if you use weights, cardio equipment, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, etc... Then this is a good place to come.

  • 3/5 Bart B. 2 years ago on Google
I know gas is expensive but is it too much to ask for a hot shower? At Total Fitness Preston it is, mentioned to staff on multiple occasions and unresolved for weeks. Other facilities good and in good order, facilities fairly clean but could do better considering how expensive it is.
