Love the food here! We always come for the lamb and pork roast on a Sunday. The starters are lovely too. Every time our experience is great apart from this Sunday. We were sat in the lovely conservatory style room with amazing windows and we love sitting here. All the waiters are always so lovely however, there was a particular young girl with straight hair who served us who wasn’t so lovely. As we’re regulars, we didn’t make notice of her moodiness however, once we paid the bill and gave our tip, she murmured ‘cheap skates’ under her breath whilst walking away. We thought that really ended the experience terribly and its quite unfortunate for such an amazing restaurant to have a personality like that working for them. She hadn’t cracked a smile once in our whole duration there! Other than her, the food, other staff and atmosphere was wonderful.

Came for the first ever time this evening, and the staff were so friendly despite being short staffed. We were served super quick, and our food came out even quicker than we expected. The food was amazing and the atmosphere is so cozy. We will be coming back! Thank you all ☺️

Lovely place with great service. They ran out of some food that we ordered and compensated with knocking off a starter which was nice of them. Really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Location is a bit tricky- in the middle of nowhere but it adds to the feel. Definitely will be back! Food is a bit expensive though so will be going without my young kids as they wouldn't appreciate fine dining yet.

Great food. Great service. Great premises. Was in a private room, but they do have other rooms. The conservatory is good, too. Had the tempura veg with sesame soy dip. Fish pie was delicious and the orange chocolate torte. Others had the steak burger. Both kids and fiancee loved it

Went and sat out side to eat beautiful surroundings large play area for children. Plenty of room on the car park as it is vast. Food was what we expected good and very tasty. The place has plenty of character a great atmosphere. 😀

Highly recommend. Set in beautiful countryside. Loads of great trails to walk from the hotel.

We booked at room en route to Scotland. Room was spotless and well looked after. Very comfortable with lovely linen and a great shower. Very impressed.We ate in the restaurant and was impressed by the service and quality of food. We actually couldn’t fault our stay, which is unusual for us! Thank you and would highly recommend.

Expensive but worth while. Broad ranging menu for most tastes. Good range of wine and spirit. Fair range of ale, but certainly well kept. Lovely Atmosphere. Great staff. Dog friendly, but also dog free areas.

Nice garden. Lovely old building and close to main motorway and Preston. Good choice of drinks, excellent food and menu. I suppose one star less as very traditional menu, but if that's what you want

These Brunning & Price hotels really are the business when it comes to providing an innovative daily menu and a great choice of cask beer. The starter and main I chose were exemplary, so too the pint of pale ale.

Had a table for 10 booked at Saturday lunchtime. Service, food and atmosphere were brilliant. It's not 'super posh' but it's a very comfortable up market country pub. Lamb shoulder was brilliant. Kids catered for very well too. Dog friendly.

Great place for a family dinner or gathering. Food is always delicious and well prepared. Drinks are great and the atmosphere is inviting.

So i had to take one star off for re-heated potatoes. When im paying £30 for a meal i dont think the potatoes should be re-heated it gives them a nasty flavour and it basically ruined the dish for me. Other than that the food is fantastic, definitely worth trying. Service wasnt great, they forgot some things and it was not even that busy. It wasnt poor but they definitely dont go above and beyond to earn a tip. Overall its a nice place, we come back for special occasions, it is affordable and nice. To me the greatest thing they do is serve Pilsner Urquell from tap, its actually the real deal, fantastic!
