It's a famous restaurant of steak. Atmosphere is a bit fancy, but staffs are so friendly. I ordered filet steak, which was so nice. My favorite are calamari grill and snails. It's also good for some celebrities.

Wow Wow Wow! This place is an absolute gem! When you walk in, this nice, relaxed yet elegant vibe takes over as you are met by very friendly staff to show you your table. The food is absolutely amazing, and the wide variety is definitely a show stopper. I would definitely recommend this place if you want great service and amazing food while sitting with the best atmosphere around you!

Last week my girlfriend and I decided it was time we went for a nice date night. We haven't had time to ourselves for a while and thought it was about time, and this restaurant looked like a great choice. The food was great and it was a really nice atmosphere but...the service was the worst I've ever experienced! Our waitress, can't remember her name but she had dark hair, and reeked of alcohol, also had a sling on her arm. She would keep trying to have conversations with us while we were eating our food, when she brought our food out she had her thumbs sticking into our pumpkin! Super unsanitary. She was behaving very inappropriately, and the moment we actually wanted her there to ask for the bill she was nowhere to be found, after 15/20 minutes, one of the other waiters asked if we were alright, we paid, we left. I would love to go back to this restaurant, as it was beatiful, and relaxing, but I hope the experience will be better when it comes to the service.

Comfortable and cosy restaurant with a great menu and delicious food. The waiters are very friendly, helpful and prompt. Restrooms are neat and clean. All around a good experience.

The food was delicious.. Their rib eye is marvelous...Gives a festive mood. I loved their outdoor setting.. It is also nice and awesome for family dining..

Looked this place up and expected fine dining at fine dining prices. I was pleasantly surprised because this restaurant has fine dining on a budget and I couldn’t ask for more. The crumbled mushrooms were very good and the beef trinchando is a must try. Reservations are highly recommended, I didn’t have one but showed up early enough that there was still room. I would come back.

Lovely little, award winning place with an excellent choice of meals. I loved the options.. a Veal Cordon Bleu and Duck to mention a few! Not a child friendly place though, but lovely for a nice romantic evening or older family dinner.

I went there for the ribs and was not disappointed. The restaurant has a cozy and warm atmosphere. The staff was great and their service was professional while still being personal. Every one enjoyed thier food. I will definitely recommend this place. I also noticed they are very accommodating towards older people

5 stars on all levels at Hillside Tavern! Absolutely the best meat you will ever eat! The service is immaculate and the atmosphere is quaint yet tasteful. We love going to Hillside Tavern to celebrate family milestones! It is always a special event!

Hillside Tavern is my favourite place to go these days. I constantly crave their oysters and make reservations specifically asking if they have stock. Nothing on the menu is a disappointment. The meat on the ribs is so soft and tender. I love the warm atmosphere. Only downside is that inside it's quite small and a lot of customers can make it loud but that is not their fault. 10/10.

Good choice of starters as well as mains and desserts to feed any sort of hunger. Service is speedy as staff constantly check up on orders and customer satisfaction. Wide variety of wines and other alcoholic beverages prices well per glass or bottle.

We had a superb evening out for our wedding anniversary. David, our waiter was attentive and super. The food was really awesome!! Atmosphere also Great, as it was not overcrowded, so we could actually hear each other. We will be back. Thank you!

It was my Husbands birthday last night and I know he was in the mood for a good piece of steak he was excited to see that they had a pepper crusted option. He ordered 2 steaks because the biggest steak option was 270g and he ordered medium to well done. When it came it was super dry and the sauce was tasteless, it was advertised as pepper corn crusted but there was no pepper corn in sight . The table next to us the gentleman ordered the Trinchado he asked if he can have bread instead of the starch available and instead of making a plan the waitress simply just said no. We heard a lot of No's last night instead of actually trying to accommodate. I felt disappointed in myself for suggesting this place to my Husband.

Hillside used to be one of our favourites. Lovely atmosphere, good size portions, great variety, tasty meals, decent prices and great service. However on Sunday we were disappointed. The food portions in relation to the prices are small, lack side offers and some of the food was overdone. We waited for 45mins after finishing drinks for our meal and when it arrived some of the food was cold. The waiters or owner did not check on us after the first round of drinks. The prices compare to some of the really elite restaurants in town who do a better job. We really love the atmosphere. Maybe it was just that they had too few waiters or were short of hands in the kitchen for the Sunday lunch?

Pretoria, South Africa: Excellent restaurant. Had Sole Meuniere. Tasted really good. I started with a mussel soup and it was good as well. Staff was very courteous. Highly recommended.

Food was so so. Service was excellent and very friendly. We had the steak. People next to us had a seafood platter and looked amazing. Maybe we will try that next time.

We are really glad that we found this restaurant. It turned out to be the best dining experience we have had in a long time. We were seated at a table that was private and quiet. It was blissful to have a peaceful dining experience with relaxing, unintrusive background music. The waiters were attentive and efficient throughout. We had a mussels and a shrimp starter. Both were delicious. Our main courses were Rib Eye Steak and Veal. Both were excellent. The menu is really extensive. There are many dishes that we would still like to try, so we will be back for more. We were of the opinion that the meals are reasonably priced. Even more so if you take into account that this is a fine dining establishment. Keep up the good work.

Hillside Tavern have never disappointed us, every time we come here it is simply amazing. Their hospitality is out of this world and the food is out of this world. Every dish on the menu is a masterpiece. Thank you Hillside for making our anniversary a very special event.

This restaurant is wonderful. You experience a feeling of upmarket dining with fantastic dishes full of flavour, yet at surprisingly affordable pricing. Will defenitely visit again if in area.

I'm highly impressed with the place. The food was great and we were treated so well by the patrons. It wasn't full, thanks to the festive season 😁. My lamb shank was so heavenly and their starters were out of those world. Definitely a place I'll go back to.

Nice resturaunt. Starters and mains was very well served. To little amount off waiters for customers asked 3 times for a drink before it arrived. Otherwise its a lovely place.. will visit again
