I
checked
in
and
the
first
room
I
was
given
had
a
door
that
was
broken
to
the
point
it
wouldn't
even
close.
The
second
room
was
at
least
safer
however
there
were
still
substantial
issues
and
was
in
violation
of
Virginia
law.
First
maximum
rates
and
liabilities
we're
not
posted
in
the
room
though
there
were
holes
in
the
door
where
it
looked
like
they
used
to
be.
This
is
contrary
to
Virginia
administrative
code
5-431-480
which
states
"and
shall
post
in
each
guest's
room
the
maximum
charge
for
that
room".
Next
there
was
a
significant
amount
of
mold
in
the
bathroom
which
is
disgusting
and
a
safety
issue
as
it
can
cause
serious
reactions
in
individuals
with
allergies
and
asthma.
Additionally
this
is
again
against
Virginia
code
which
requires
rooms
to
be
clean
and
sanitary.
"All
buildings,
other
facilities,
equipment
fixtures,
furnishings
and
the
premises
of
a
hotel
shall
be
kept
clean,
in
good
repair,
and
maintained
so
as
to
protect
the
health,
safety,
and
well-being
of
persons
using
those
facilities."

Admin.
Code
§
5-431-290
and
"Toilets,
lavatories
and
bath
facilities
shall
be
maintained
in
a
clean
and
sanitary
condition
and
maintained
in
good
repair."
12VAC5-431-360
Additionally
the
caulk
in
the
shower
was
not
in
good
repair
raising
questions
about
the
state
of
the
structural
components
in
the
wall
and
violating
12VAC5-431-360
-
Toilet,
lavatory,
and
bath
facilities
requirements
"Shower
compartments
with
walls
that
are
in
accordance
with
the
Virginia
Uniform
Statewide
Building
Code.
An
effective
water-tight
joint
between
the
wall
and
the
floor
shall
be
maintained."
There
was
also
a
wash
cloth
hanging
in
the
shower
that
appeared
to
left
by
a
previous
patron
in
violation
of
12VAC5-431-340
-
Box
springs,
mattresses,
bedding
and
linen
requirements
"All
sheets,
pillowcases,
towels,
washcloths,
and
bathmats
shall
be
kept
clean
and
in
good
repair,
freshly
laundered
and
sanitized
between
occupants
and
changed
at
least
once
every
7
days"
The
fridge
was
not
clean
on
the
interior
and
was
unplugged
when
I
arrived.
The
carpets
were
visibly
dirty
and
damaged
in
violation
of
12VAC5-431-320
-
Room
furnishing
requirements
"All
equipment,
fixtures,
furniture,
windows,
and
furnishings,
including
draperies,
curtains,
carpets,
other
floor
materials
shall
be
kept
clean
and
free
of
dust,
dirt,
vermin,
and
other
contaminants
and
shall
be
maintained
in
good
order
and
repair."
To
further
support
the
idea
that
this
place
isn't
cleaned,
a
penny
was
left
by
the
TV,
in
plain
sight
Finally
there
were
exposed
wires
leading
to
a
permanently
installed
light
fixture.
All
that
to
say
that
there
is
a
standard
in
place
and
this
place
needs
a
lot
of
work
to
get
up
to
that
standard,
they
should
not
be
renting
out
rooms
in
this
condition.
