The most beautiful scenic beach I've ever seen. Such an amazing place to be. We had parked at the Twelve Apostles car park and took the 2km route down to Gibson Steps Beach. It was a nice easy walk, although the flies were annoyance. The easy option of course was to park car Gibson Steps. However, we had parked at Twelve Apostles as there were rest room and we could buy drinks and snacks. The weather was perfect, hot sun with a light cool breeze. An amazing day out. It wasn't too busy as well. It was lovely here and such a great experience.

Quite a few steps down to the beach and the waves can be pretty unpredictable at times, so be aware before you go, but well worth a visit, especially if you love to explore. Wandered all the way to the end of the beach and explored the little rock/cave area, but didn't stay too long as tide was coming in. Loved the area though and so glad we climbed down. Gog and Magog also look phenomenal up close!

Some places just dont get enough recognition, this is a sight to see๐Ÿ˜ Went on a weekday in late October.... no one was around, it was an experience. The views you get to see whilst coming down the steps is amazing,. The walk along the beach was beautiful. Found washed up crackers๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Hard to take a bad photo here, especially on a stunning day. The colours are magnificent. Get down to the beach and soak the scenery in. It gets less crowded really quickly if you just walk away from the steps. Glorious.

This is still in one location at the 12 Apostles but this is the Gibson Steps Lookout (Beach). We have to walk quite a distance. On the left and right there are beautiful natural views and lots of birds. But we have to be careful because there is a warning that there are snakes. There is no entrance fee. A pleasant experience, although quite tiring, but worth it for the natural beauty that we can enjoy. There are parking area for disable (disable friendly). Recomended.

This is probably the most beautiful stop along the Great Ocean Road, just before The Twelve Apostles. The steps are quite steep, and it gets super windy till the extent where you might just be blown away by the wind, and the view! Best time to visit is around 6pm when the sun isn't so high anymore. Its a great photo opportunity with the ocean and steps leading to the beach.

There is a small viewing platform at the top of the cliffs. But the ultimate view is from the beach. It really isn't worth a stop if you are unable to climb the steps. The steps are solid with a sturdy barrier/handrail and zigzag down the cliff face. It is from the beach that the cliffs are super impressive. Parking was limited - about 15 spots.

Spacious car park, beautiful scenery, really worth the trip. You can find a lookout and some steps to the beach. From the beach the scenery is even more impressive. We were there in the early morning, so we had it nearly for us only. It is one of the few major formations you actually can access on the beach not from a lookout only.

Very nice to be down on the sand. The beach has a lot of footprints though so it may not look the best on photos. Still is a must visit. There are many steep steps on the way so do take that into consideration

Where there in early August 2023, in the morning when the crowd have not arrived. The walk down the stairs can be abit tough for the elderly.. but we are rewarded with the beautiful surroundings. Parking can be just right infront or a walk from the 12 apostles visitor centre.

OK quick tip, the light is best in the mornings and get there before 10am as the carpark is small and fills quickly after then. Going down the steps to the beach gives you a great view of the cliffs and if you walk to the end you get spectacular views of the beach and cliffs. Well worth the time and effort when in the area. Allow an hour for a full experience.

Just make it down those stepsโ€ฆ if u canโ€ฆ That is why you are here on Great Ocean Road. At the Base on the beach, u will feel the insignificant smallness of being. The oceans is Big, the waves thundering and that wide coastline and the constant crashing of the waves.. looking up โ€ฆ how is this land been waste away???

Stunning There really is nothing better. To experience it at face level is beautiful. Easily accessed via GOR at 12 Apostles car park with access to bathroom facilities and refreshments, with a short walk. Or via Gibson Steps stop car park. Check if steps accessible, if there is bad weather, the access is closed.

Definitely worth a visit if you're heading to the 12 apostles. The walk down to the beach is easy at Gibson Steps. Take your time with the sand can make it slippery. Make sure you look at what the tide is doing so you can walk up to the right side. Heading up the steps is a bit of a workout as they are steep, but it's not hard. So beautiful and can a lot of time taking the best photos ๐Ÿ˜‰

Great view, especially about an hour before sunset. You cannot see many of the apostles from this location, but it lets you get down to the beach, which the other viewing points generally donโ€™t offer. The steps can be a bit steep, so those with limited mobility may have a better time at the viewpoint closer to the 12 apostles national park visitors center. You can get to the steps by driving to the pull out, or by walking a longer distance (multiple kilometers) from the visitors center

Absolutely worth the journey. No pictures can capture the true beauty of this place. The climb up and down the steps is not as bad as it looks. The coastline is perfect.

The Gibson Steps location on the Twelve Apostles trail are a must do. Scaling down multiple steps down a cliff past the parking area is not an easy task, but highly worth the effort. The beach is clean and wide. You can walk close to the rock placed in the ocean next to the beach. If you look around the beach you can spot the tiny feet marks around the cliff and small caves. Also, it looks like a good spot to take a dip in the ocean.

Beautiful part of the world. I'm glad we had low tide and were able to walk down the near 100 steps down to the beach and back up again. It does test your fitness levels, yet soo worth it. A must do activity for most people. The parking there is a bit limited, so be warned you may not be able to do this bit. However, you can undertake the 2/3 km round trip walk from the 12 Apostles to there if you so wish to do that instead.

A 10-minutes walk are required to visit the photo spot. The staircase was narrow, permitting only one person to pass at a time. Though the seashore was cold and windy in winter, I would say it definitely worths a visit.

We visited Gibson Steps as part of our Great Ocean Road trip. The place is pretty scenic and there are stairs leading to the beach. There is also a farm opposite the attraction with nice looking sheep.

Small sealed car park suitable for cars and larger vehicles, then steps down to the beach. Not suitable for anyone with any disability. Nice walk along the beach. Also, this is a good spot to take a short walking track of about 500 m to the 12 apostles car park to see the 12 apostles. Keep aware of snakes however

Scenic coastal view and nice beach! The steps to the beach are quite steep though. Please be careful when going down and coming back up! As for parking, can park at the Twelve Apostles carpark nearby and walk for about 300m to Gibson Steps.

Part of the Sunset tour, this stop you can take the stairs to go down to see the beach, sand and strong waves!! Be mindful of the wave theyโ€™re really strong! Worth to walk down the stairs

Really beautiful place for pictures, worth the visit. Do take note that you will need to climb up and down a narrow flight of stairs to get to the beach. Itโ€™s quite tiring if youโ€™re unfit. Not recommended for people who canโ€™t walk much or elderly. There is parking available. You should spend less than an hour here.

This is an awesome place to spend the sunny evenings. Good for a nice walk and playing in the cool waters of the beach. This is a must visit while travelling to see 12 Apostles. And best thing is it's free!

A stop and visit well worth it. 70 odd stairs to climb down and up. Great views. Great photographic moments. Carpark can get a little crowded in the late arvo.

Just about 200m up the road from the 12 Apostles, the Gibson Steps is a lessor known attraction that shouldn't be missed. The steps are carved into the cliff and very steep. Hang onto the railing and take it slow. Could be a problem for those with vertigo. Well worth it to go down to the bottom as the photo opportunities are incredible.

Great route down to the beach to see part of the twelve apostles. Heads up that there are about 50 narrow big steps down and appears to be the only way back up. Absolutely worth it for the view and waves on your feet. Wasn't too busy on a summer weekday, with the car park at near capacity. About 25 parking spaces at the top, 20 min walk from the larger parking area at twelve apostles.

A lesser-known attraction about 200m up the road from the 12 Apostles is the Gibson Steps. While coming down the steps, you get to see amazing views. It was a pleasure to walk along the beach. A must-see when visiting Great Ocean Road.

Definitely worth visiting and going down 88 steps to the beach and along the beach all the way to the end. Size of those cliffs and limestone rock formations itโ€™s mind blowing. Also we were enchanted by big crushing waves and some brave guys were surfing

Great spot and a must when doing this trip! I didn't spend as much time here as the other spots and not exactly little kid friendly! however if able to walk down the steps and onto the beach definitely makes this spot worth the trip!
