Talk about striking architecture! I’ve never seen a building like it and whether you think it’s attractive or not it’s a great area to wander round, with lots of seating and a small open park next door. I didn’t get the chance to go in because it was closed when I passed, but it’s a landmark of the city and a must see when you’re visiting!

I was advised to visit this building as being “among the world’s 5 ugliest” and I must say that I, instead, found it to be SO Interesting and fascinating architecturally! I found this building to be an interesting mix of architectural engineering & political expression and I’d urge anyone with such interests to visit it when in the area.

My favourite building in Prishtina. I've heard some people be negative about the design, saying it's like a prison or scaffolding, but the simple fact is that it is the most creative piece of modern architecture in all of Prishtina (and even all of the former Yugoslavia ). There is a lot of poor urban planning in Prishtina, and buildings that are over the top or just plain cheap, whereas this library is a valuable contribution to the urban landscape above all others.

Ranked among the ugliest buildings in the world. And from the architecture and interior I can’t but agree. However still it’s worth visiting or stopping by at on your way to the boulevard.

(Translated by Google) The National Library of Kosovo "Pjeter Began", with white glass domes, is still one of the symbols of Pristina Kosovo and Serbia. Cubes and domes, which are characteristic of objects in the region of the Balkans, are specifically framed by a steel fence in the form of a net. The construction of a modern style library was started in 1974 and was designed by famous Croatian architect Andrija Mutnjaković. The fence is designed to preserve books, and the domes have the meaning of the human brain. So there are 99 domes in the form of a brain that show that knowledge is acquired in this institution. In the interior of the library, on the first floor, there is a large reading room of 400 seats. On the second floor there are specialized stores, and on the third there are scientific shops and workshops. Books are stored in two underground floors. The Library Fund now consists of two million titles, among which are books and newspapers and magazines. Approximately 2,500 students visit the library every day, and when the exams are over and over. The library employs 77 workers and is open to visitors six days a week. Within the National Library throughout the year various educational and cultural events are organized, from scientific conferences to book promotion ...

The National Library of Pristina, also known as the National Library of Kosovo, is a cultural institution and a landmark building located in the city of Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. The architect of the National Library of Pristina was Andrija Mutnjaković, a Croatian architect who won the international design competition held in 1971 for the building's design. The library was built between 1982 and 1986 during the period when Kosovo was part of Yugoslavia. The design of the library is striking, with its unique shape, made up of 99 domes of various sizes and irregular shapes, and its outer shell made of aluminum panels. The interior of the library is equally impressive, with its large central atrium and its intricate network of staircases and balconies that connect the different levels of the building. The National Library of Pristina was designed to be a cultural and intellectual center, not just a repository for books. It was intended to promote literacy and education, and to inspire creativity and innovation. Today, the library continues to serve as an important cultural institution in Kosovo, hosting a variety of cultural events and exhibitions, and providing access to a vast collection of books, periodicals, and other materials.

Architecture is impressive, but when you get closer you see the walls are vandalized by meaningless graffitis. Graffiti must be a part of art, not some random words. They should clean around. The inner side is cute. The woman who works at the top floor, who speaks German and Albanian is so warm and cute. We will remember her so good.

Probably one of the best and cleanest parks in Kosova. Very close to Prishtina. You can go with bus number 4 all the way to the entrance. If you go with a car, the entrance fee is 1€ for cars. There is a parking outside of entrance than you can enter for free. There are 10+ walking/hiking trails. There are two big and fancy restaurants inside in the park. From entrance to the first restaurant there is around 2KM. Full hiking trail is 14KM and very accessible. It can get crowded during the weekend. From here you can go and hike all the way to Lake Badovc, Butovc or Matican. All the trails are open during the 365 days of the year. You can see Sharr Mountains, Luboten Peak and many other mountains around.

The National Library in Pristina, Kosovo was designed by Croatian architect Andrija Mutnjakovic and opened in 1982. The library, with its 73 small domes, was supposed to be the focal point of the complex of university buildings. From above, the library looks like a motley cluster of cubes, varying in size and height, rather like a village. The domes supply even, natural light to the reading rooms. The cube shape contributes to the compactness and the sense of protection, which is further reinforced by the aluminum net of hexagons that is draped over the building.

You will not find a library or any building, for that matter, that looks like that. Some will hate it, others enjoy it. I imagine it's the sort of thing that gets more iconic as times goes on.

(Translated by Google) Kosovo is the national library. But it was closed when we left. It is a very different and stylish structure, but now there are spills. Although it was a university complex, there were not many students around. Right in the center of the city. Admission and sightseeing are free. I also recommend you to see a bird's eye view from the tower of the church next to Hen.

(Translated by Google) A library with a great appearance. However, it is national. It may seem too avant-garde compared to other buildings in Pristina. However, the wish of peace is actually put in. Because the Serbian Byzantine style and the Kosovo Islamic style are mixed. In reality, Kosovo can't reach Serbia yet, but at least I want peace of mind. Being from another place either international or native, your chance to enjoy this park is in early August. At this time of the year, a big concert called Sunny Hill is held. Last year, there were artists such as Miley Cyrus and Calvin Harris (btw this last one was the bomb) that entertain the crowd for three days in a row. The place is buzzing with tourists and locals. You get to make new friends and live memories at the thrill of the music in the night. I'd suggest you bring boots (you'll thank me when you'll be turning home from a five hour dance off) and a sweater. It tends to get cold afterwards.

The National Library of Kosovo was inaugurated on 25 November 1982. It was designed by the Croatian architect Andrija Mutnjaković. Its space consists of 16,500 square meters. It is made with zenith windows, with a total 99 domes of different sizes and is entirely covered in a metal fishing net, which have their own particular architectural symbolism. Thr building is meant to represent a style blending Byzantine and Islamic architectural forms. The domes are often considered as the symbol of 'plis' the traditional Albanian cap.
