PLEASE AVOID THE MATERNITY DEPARTMENT! I did a very big disservice to myself by choosing Loyola hospital. The majority of the staff i encountered had very poor communications skills and lack of empathy. I'm just very thankful today my baby and I are healthy. Thank you to the very few nurses that actually were amazing. I will not be returning to that hospital for any of my or my sons medical needs. Very disappointed with Loyola. Hopefully in the near future they will have a better maternity ward. Also they should really consider having a nursery.

I have a loved one on her last days. We were there for a hospice meeting and my cousin decided she wants to fight instead of giving up. The nurse Monty then got upset and told my cousin now your going to suffer and you won’t be able to see your loved ones because now you’ll only be allowed 1 visitor per day. I’m pretty sure if the right person from the hospital board seen the way he acted and the things he said and way he said them that he might have been relieved of his duty’s. We had it worked out with the social worker to have her dad and step-mom be able to visit at the same time the next day. Well after a 2 hour drive they were told only 1 visitor is allowed and your social worker doesn’t have the authority to grant visits. I’ve never seen a hospital or a nurse be so in compassionate. I wouldn’t go that hospital unless you have to. Not to mention the same hospital suggested my family years ago to pull the plug on our grandmother and that she wasn’t going to make it. She was home the next day and lived healthy for over another year. Nothing but bad!!!

NOPE! I've been a patient here for decades. This place used to be great or maybe I just didn't know better because I didn't have medical concerns in my younger years. But I'm a senior now and I will not go back to Loyola. 5 years ago I started having pain and swelling in my neck and hands. I was prescribed drugs. Went back because the drug was only temp and stopped working. I was prescribed a different drug. Didn't work. I did this 5 times. All the veteran doctors I saw didn't have a clue. The symptoms I was having have been my mantra for the last five years. Veteran doctor after veteran doctor NONE OF THEM could figure it out. Then came a young new specialty doctor. Saw him once. He asked me questions and guess what? HE LISTENED AND HEARD ME! He ordered one test. And the results.....? Carpal tunnel. WHAAAAAAT????? What a common issue to not have been thought of by MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS!!!! My only worry is that the lack of care and diagnosis has done permanent damage to my wrist. Wonder what I can do with this.....🤔

The only thing that you are to the Loyola organization is a dollar sign. It takes weeks to get prescriptions. They say they'll send them then they don't. Then you have to go pick them up. And then they're not ready. Even though you got a text the day before saying to come pick them up. The charging for parking is absolutely disgusting and ridiculous to charge your patients even more to see their doctors even though they're paying co-pays. I can't wait to find another network to be in because Loyola has become trash. They do not follow Illinois's new law about being transparent with costs of doctor visits. Staff is hit or miss with who is professional and kind and who is just rude and disparaging, talking down to patients. Their primary doctors don't really care about health issues. Because they are a Catholic hospital, they don't believe in birth control I want to come to women's health, I think we all in the year 2023 know that it's much more than just not trying to be pregnant. The nurses who do the pre-evaluation, not sure why they asked the questions about depression and suicide, because they don't actually care if you answer yes. Just a horrible institution overall.

It amazes me how some patients feel that they are entitled to more rapid care than others in the Emergency Department. Such patients as those equate their wait times to the quality of the care they were ultimately provided. While pain is not pleasant for anyone, no one ever died from just pain. It is the job of the professionals to prioritize the patients and take the worst first. In a busy Level One trauma center, the wait times can be very long for less than life threatening conditions. Try to understand that. while you are waiting, the staff members are busy caring for patients that need it as much or more than you might. I praise and applaud the professionals at Loyola for the outstanding level of care that they provide to their patients. Patience on the part of patients should be paramount, if they wish to receive that high level of care.

Dr Miller right out lied to me! I have a cold/flu. I messaged my doctor via ‘my Loyola’ and was immediately set up with a video call with a different doctor the next day at 9am. I have ever done that. The nurse tells me that he refuses to prescribe unless it is a video call. You really shouldn’t blackmail patients based on their tech ability. When I talk to him he tells me to go to critical care which is 45 minutes away. I can barely hold my head up. He says the in house Covid tests sent by the government don’t work and I need that, a viral test and chest X-ray. I tell him to be sure he puts the orders in or they won’t see me which happened before. He says he is typing it now. I get there and he has no orders. I look at the after visit report- nothing. There is a five hour wait without orders. I call my doctor. Goes to voice mail. I message her. I google the main number. I get critical heart health. I looked forever to get a real number. I wait for 5 minutes while I listen to this message that has nothing to do with anything except keep people from talking to someone. If they spent as much energy taking care of patients as they do keeping them from talking to someone, it would be a better place. I get through and they disconnect me. Call again. The receptionist contacts them for me and tells me they will do it. The woman in the critical care place says in need to wait in the car. I ask her to call me when the orders come through. It is about 10am. I go home. There is a voice mail from Loyola saying that doctors can’t leave orders for the critical care facility. Then at 12:26, I get a call from the woman at the critical care facility saying the orders came through. From my regular doctor!!! You people lie and are incompetent and neglectful! I adore my primary care doctor or I would be gone in a heartbeat!

The most horrible hospital ever!!! The care is horrible! Sat in an emergency room for 10 hours with my dehydrated, horribly inflamed husband before getting taking care, after specifically being told to take him in to the er and a charge nurse was aware of his condition and that he was being brought in. After 23 hours in the er he was finally admitted, it took days before he would know his plan of care.. I even called trying to talk to a nurse and she was short answered with an attitude and the answer for everything I was asking about my husbands care was I can’t really say at this moment. My poor husband couldn’t even get a cup of water for hours!! Hours!!! For a simple cup of water and even had a nurse call ( saw his call light on) and say oh did you need something? yes my cup of water I asked for 3 hours ago! When his meals get delivered to his room they don’t bother knocking or letting him know it’s there they simply leave it outside the room and By the time someone notices it’s already cold or his frozen stuff is completely melted. Very disappointed and frustrated with how my husband was cared for. We will most definitely never be back here again.

The fine people at Loyola saved my daughters life. It was a struggle but they worked hard for her. I’m so incredibly grateful for that. Aside from their hard work the facility is also top notch. Kudos to their cafeteria. The food is excellent and not what you would expect from a hospital. I could go on and I will send a letter to all of the people that helped save my daughter. But everyone should know that there is a culture of goodness and understanding that sets them apart.

Absolutely wonderful individuals and staff who work here. Especially Dr Anderson and the Neurological ICU staff. The organization is a disgrace and they try and squeeze money any way they can. Long emergency room waits, charging for parking for patients, under staffing issues and low resources for the doctors and nurses. Being a Christian hospital is a farce, there is nothing Christlike in this building. May god judge the people running Loyola

I had a Heart transplant here at Loyola back in 1997. Then a Kidney transplant recently in May of 2021. And of course other issues along the way that I was hospitalized for. And very recently in December 2021 I caught Covid and checked into Loyola once again. I wasn't a typical Covid case. I was a very complicated and challenging case and the reason is because not only did I have Covid but I also had the BK Virus, the CMV Virus, and a comprimised immune system from the meds I had to take so my Kidney transplant doesn't reject. I have to say the Doctors had a huge challenge ahead of them. Well needless to say I was hospitalized for a week and they came thru once again. I am home now, Covid free, and very greatful to them for curing me. I can't say enough about the great team at Loyola. Yes, I would highly recomend this great institution. They have consistently done me right for over 40 years.

Management really has to come and see how their “parking enforcement” and “safety” trucks patrol. They “safety” truck was parking right in front of the radiation center ON THEIR PHONE TEXTING and laughing, while TWO cars were trying to get patients in. While he’s on his phone laughing there are OLD PEOPLE 80 year old having to Walk more than they should because he’s trying not to get caught being on the phone. Then he has the AUDACITY to say “you can’t leave your cars here” ARE YOU SERIOUS?! GET OFF YOUR PHONE AND DO YOUR JOB! Then I go to the radiation parking and there isn’t much left because people DOUBLE PARK. Instead of being on your phone DO YOUR JOB!!!

Took my almost 3 yr old son in on 12.8.21 due to his Pediatrics' request which turned out to be a 3 day stay in the ped unit. Initially, I was hesitant due to reviews, but I agreed because he already had scheduled appts and Ped wanted to keep him in the system. We arrived and ER was overly crowded, not everyone was following health and safety guidelines, no receptionist, and honestly floor was filthy with trash. We waited no longer than an hour when taken in. Nurses were very nice and patient with my crying nervous son. We were taken up in 2 hours max. Our day and night nurses, Jenny and Matt, respectively, along with the Dr's and team were AMAZING. I can't thank them enough. Only inconvenience was that I had to pay $8 each for my breakfast/lunch/dinner when my husband was not allowed in, nor available to bring by food.

If I can l would leave this hospital zero star. Took me 3 years to be able to speak about my experience with this hospital and specially birthing center. I had my first baby at this hospital 3 years ago, they induced me 5 days prior my due date without any medical complication. I had very healthy pregnancy, their midwife was forcing me to be induced for some reason I even don't know to this day. I was almost 3 days in this hospital trying to give birth, when I finally lost all my strength and fainted from pushing few times. They took me to emergency C section where I found out later that my daughters head was tilted in my pelvis, her heart rate was slowing down. I could possibly suffocate my child by pushing, she had big bruise on her forehead no one answered from doctors and nurses on my questions why she have the bruise. She swallowed a lot of water and needed to be under the light for 24 hours. Thank God that she was okay at the end. My epidural wasn't successful I felt everything on my right side from cutting me. To this day I a have back pain because they gave new young Anesthesiologist to preform epidural on me. If I didn't have my husband with me in surgery room they would probably continue. When he screamed at them that I still feel everything on my right side that's when they gave me additional anesthesia where I fell asleep and woke up after they were done with stitching. Doctors and nurses I cant remember that I met 1 person nice and polite those 3 days. If you have opportunity to have your baby in any other hospital Hinsdale or Elmhurst (my 2nd C section amazing, laughing while having my boy) highly, highly recommend you to go there. Avoid Loyola Hospital and their ER at any cost.

I do not recommend this hospital if you need surgery. I was expecting to be put in a room while I was prepped for surgery, instead I was placed in an area where all the other patients are at waiting for surgery. After surgery, I thought I would then be put in my own room. Nope same thing placed in an area where all the post op patients go there was no privacy at all and the wait for a room was 5 + hours. The staff was ok. Lastly, there is no such thing as caring for a patient here. When you finally get a room, you could possibly share it with another patient and if the spare bed was used prior, they come in at 3 AM To clean that side, change sheets and prep for the next patient. How is someone supposed to get rest after surgery when the lights are on and all this noise is being made? Next time I’m sticking to Edward hospital!!

Don’t go here, everyone is rude. Had been getting a scan here once a year for well over a decade, radiology department would not schedule me even though my doctor and insurance had not changed in the last six years. Total incompetence, had to call back three times for a simple appointment. Will be going elsewhere in the future to avoid the rudeness experienced here.

I recently had an appointment at the Loyola Outpatient Center, and my experience was largely positive, warranting a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The facility itself is modern and well-maintained, creating a welcoming environment right from the start. The cleanliness and organization throughout the center were notable, contributing to a comfortable and reassuring experience. This attention to maintaining a clean and orderly environment is particularly important in a healthcare setting, and it was clear that the center takes this seriously. One of the key strengths of the Loyola Outpatient Center is its staff. From the receptionists to the medical professionals, everyone I interacted with was courteous, professional, and genuinely caring. The nurses and doctors were not only knowledgeable but also took the time to listen to my concerns and explain things in a clear, understandable manner. This level of patient care and communication is commendable and made a significant difference in my experience. The range of services offered is another plus. The center provides various medical specialties, which is convenient for patients looking to address multiple health concerns in one location. My appointments were timely, and the process from check-in to consultation was smooth and efficient. However, there are a couple of reasons why I didn't rate it a full 5 stars. Firstly, while the majority of my wait times were reasonable, there was one instance where I experienced a longer-than-expected wait. This wasn't a major issue but did impact my schedule for the day. Secondly, while the center is well-equipped and offers a range of services, some specialized tests or treatments may require a visit to another facility. This isn't a major drawback but something to be aware of when choosing this center for your healthcare needs. In conclusion, the Loyola Outpatient Center provides high-quality medical care with a focus on patient experience. The professional and caring staff, along with the modern facilities, make it a reliable choice for outpatient medical services. While there's a slight room for improvement in terms of wait times and the availability of certain specialized services, the overall experience was very positive.

No compassion what so ever. Yes understand about covid being high. And the one visit per day. However when your from another city visiting and the son of the patient wants to see his mom because she at end of her road. But to tell the wife of the son to ho sit outside of the hospital in the Cold of winter is JUST WRONG!!! you have a long hall with empty chairs 8 feet apart and no one sitting in them yet you make a disable woman go sit outside in the cold is just wrong!!! Especially when you have staff members sitting close together eating lunch. It's just wrong!!! If it was a warm day I understand but with 20 degree weather wrong!!!!!! What's the point of having all that seating on the first floor. Staff should made to eat in their car to and sit in their cars on break if your making public do it! Wrong to put a person who is disable out in the cold because her husband mom is is sick and close to death! Wrong!

Hello I came into the hospital today at 9am due to a hit and run and injuries to the leg , I am currently still here at the hospital at 5:17pm, I’ve already had my x ray and I called over the phone to see what was the hold up and they told me that there was nothing wrong with my leg everything came out good and I continued to mention if I could get a doctors note and go since the information has been giving to me over the phone and I was told no and the hold up was that my case was not that serious compared to others so I will have to wait until the doctor discharges me, Not to mention that I came in and it was only two people in the waiting area with me and the people who came after me has come and gone , I am very upset about this situation at this hospital and on top of that the employees have bad communication skills! I just really need for the doctor to see me so I can go back to work since they have already told me that there is nothing wrong with me and I am fine I need to be discharged !

1st I want to Thank all the staff that showed up to work! I waited 6 hrs with my loved in the waiting room to be called in. When we checked in, we checked in for chest pain. The wait time was ridiculous. After we saw the triage nurse. We were told there were patients that have been waiting 4 hours for a bed. Well, we waited 6 hrs for a bed. When we walked in. All beds were not taken so I’m assuming they are understaffed. Hopefully they can get more drs and nurses to work in the ER to make wait time way less than 4-6 hrs. As someone mentioned. They need to do some deep cleaning on their floors. The floors were really dirty.

I have a wonderful physician but he is clearly over-worked! The outpatient center is looking more and more like a factory assembly line. My appointments are often re-scheduled. It is an atmosphere of haste. The Visit summaries have dated and/or erroneous items on them. The so called COVID entry evaluation is a joke! The TSA does a better job. A few questions and the temperature taking etc. Down the hall in the fitness center you walk right through. I left Northwestern for Loyola and at first was impressed. No more. Had blood work done and the agent taped me with such a harsh (postage like) tape that left bruises for three days. Got the test results fast but still waiting for a review. You could die waiting for Loyola to get its act together. Excuses, excuses. There are illnesses other than COVID, wake up Loyola (or should I say Trinity)??!

If I could give 0 stars I could. Avoid the maternity ward at all costs. I received a spinal chord injury during my epidural and they tried to cover it up. That was 2 years ago and i still have chronic pain, diziness and a loss of balance. Im seeing a neurologist at Loyola and I hope they don’t suck as well. My appointment keeps getting rescheduled , and being a young woman with health problems is always hard because doctors don’t believe you. I don’t understand why some of these people are becoming doctors, probably for the quick coin, but the fact that nobody even cared to check my spine after the injury reallt proves my point. The RESIDENT who preformed my epidural was rude and condescending basicallt blaming me for the injury. She was younger black woman with a terrible bedside manner and attitude. I’m losing hope In humanity rn lol

I would like to thank a wonderful and caring professional Dr. Dr. Keith Veselik is a true asset to the profession. He cares and gives 120% to all his patients. I feel truly blessed that he is my doctor. Loyola should be blessed and honored to have such a doctor on their staff.

I have been a patient here for a few years. I am a patient in the Cancer center. I visited the ER this evening because I was having trouble breathing and have what seems to be some sort of Respiratory virus. I arrived at 1pm and at 9pm was still waiting to be seen. The ER is absolutely disgusting and filthy! Staff was rude and not at all helpful. I was taken to triage for vitals and an RSV and Strep swab with im sure my insurance will be billed extensively for and that was it. I kept asking after several hours how much longer and was repeatedly told that other people were coming in in worse condition and my place in line was being bumped. After 8 hours of waiting I was then told a “ Trauma” arrived and the ER was now on hold. All the while the entire staff was outside being nosey while a gentleman was being asked to leave the hospital. Oh and the vending machine was eating everyone’s money. I’d give 0 stars if I could. Pitiful and sad and basically you have better luck waiting at home until you need an ambulance to bring you in.

The most ghetto and dirtiest hospital I’ve ever been to. The bathrooms and floors are filthy. They make you share rooms with a stranger, almost feels like a prison. Please do not come here. You can’t really relax or get any sleep because if the nurses aren’t working on you they’re working on the other person in the room. Im more exhausted than ever. The other person’s equipment is constantly on my side of the room. The other curtains were constantly on top of me. There’s no room to walk. This is the first and last time I will ever come here. I also found a pee measurement jug in my dresser. AND IT WASN'T MINE! Absolutely filthy. Deplorable conditions. During my stay one of the lunch ladies dropped miralax all over the floor and table. It was never cleaned so everything was super sticky. The doctors I saw were rude and lack empathy. I don’t recommend this hospital at all. I’m just overall annoyed by the treatment received here.

I could write a Very Long story about what happened but I'll save you the time by just saying DON'T go to this Hospital. They once were a good hospital but Not any more! They are there to get your insurance money and that's it. Also don't use Troy Buck he's a Joke in a Half! Unless you want free drugs.

Another issue. For six months now I have been working with billing over an issue from last August! They took a payment but never applied it so that earlier this year I’m getting notices. I have called five times since then. Each time I am told after review of the file and each set of notes that I do not have a balance due…it should drop off in the next billing cycle. Same issue same response last month. So imagine my surprise when today I receive a letter from a collection agency! Once again the billing department is going to put this to ac review. However, now they say they can’t it from collections until after the review! Based on my previous calls it should never have gone to review! I ask to speak with a supervisor and in wait only to be told I will have to leave a number. So far no phone call. DO NOT GO TO LOYOLA! Very disappointed. My elderly father and I waited 5 1/2 hours just to get into the ER. He is 81 with a badly infected artificial knee. They drew labs very quickly but then we were kept waiting. I finally asked about the labs thinking maybe I should just bring him home but was told they were concerned about the results (and yet there he sat in a wheelchair waiting). He then spent over 30 hours on a cart in the ER waiting for a bed. In fact, the next morning we were told there were about ten people waiting for a bed. At the 24 hour mark I contacted the Nurse Hospital Supervisor and was told he had a bed that needed to be cleaned. Three hours after that we were still waiting for the bed to be cleaned. Word on the street is Loyola has major staffing problems. Our experience appears to back this up. Yesterday the ER nurse told me that beds opened up but due to sick calls they only had a single nurse to cover an entire unit for night shift. This evening we were told that every weekend there is this significant delay because there isn’t staff to clean the beds. So patients spend unnecessary hours on gurneys waiting because no one can get beds cleaned!?! Our nurse today was an agency nurse who clearly didn’t give a rat’s behind. The ER staff don’t provide adequate “in patient” care - there doesn’t appear to be support staff to assist with patient needs (like toileting). I arrived this morning to find my dad was lying in his feces. I will be reporting our experience with CMS (Medicare) and IDPH (IL Dept of Public Health) and encourage you all to do the same. No doubt “Loyola” will respond to this review with the rubber stamp B.S. about their commitment to blah blah blah. Your inability to provide appropriate care speaks much louder than your actions. I’ve been an RN for 28 years. It’s very sad that a formerly great institution has deteriorated to such shoddy care.

The clinics are over crowded. The nurses are wonderful. The receptionist that checked you in are very nice and understanding. The doctors are not great. They don't listen to your complaints and symptoms to come up with a real diagnosis. They assume they know what's wrong with you based on Test . I went through 3 doctors before finding one the right one. Some of them are rude and don't want to be bothered. Some of the exam rooms are not clean

The worst emergency room my family and I had experience different times -my grandson was here. He was here approximately 12 hours they couldn’t get a pediatrician to see him. It’s really sad because the hospital has , good doctors but it’s very disappointing to have the kind of emergency room service Loyola has -some of my friend had the same experience hopefully this situation one day it will improve -starting with people that work in the waiting room poor people skills 👎

The worst place you could ever go to as a patient. I asked to NOT have an X-Ray done as I had already previously received an x-ray at a different location and knew I had no broken bones. I told them it was a waste of time but they insisted and told me the doctor would not see me without having an x-ray done. Come to find out I got a bill in the mail a week later for a hefty additional charge for having an x-Ray done. Billing would not listen to my concerns and would not waive the charge. On top of that, the first time I called billing about the issue (in September), the person I spoke to did not even do the correct process of opening a ticket for the situation, they just sent me an itemized bill. It’s only after I spoke to a woman that told me that no one ever put in a claim on my behalf and that she was opening one now (10/16) and they would reach out to me. After two weeks I get a call at 7am from the same guy who lied about opening a ticket for me saying there was nothing they could do about the charge because I “accepted the x-ray despite being coerced to accept it.” They don’t listen to their patients, I had an awful time there. Recommend you STAY AWAY.

Endocrinology was atrocious. If I could give zero stars, I would. I was accused of being late, rushed, disregarded about a secondary concern, and PTSD triggered when the doctor tried to do something with which I was in no way comfortable with doing. Couple all of this with atrocious parking, non ADA friendly doorways, lack of restrooms, and no regard for alleviating patient anxiety, and it was the most God awful experience I've ever had. I'll never return.

I might as well be my own doctor at Loyola. I was never treated for a missed miscarriage. Retained products left for months! Went to the ER after hemorrhage from an incomplete miscarriage and they said I was pregnant again and experiencing “abnormal bleeding”. I was told to get hcg labs drawn, my hcg never went down to zero and they never ruled out the retained products! I was definitely not pregnant. Doctor didn’t even make sense, said how life threatening retained products are but never ruled them out. I supposed I should’ve waited to be septic. I will never go to a catholic institution ever again, disgusting and sad they only care about a billing statement. I was not a patient I was a nice bill to send. Women beware. Your body is not your choice here. There is no resolution to making a woman suffer slowly losing rotting fetal tissue from her vagina, over the course of months because Loyola won’t treat a miscarriage. The baby was dead. ER doctor talked to me like a complete moron who didn’t know what a period was or that I was pregnant. When I was not. And I literally came to the ER with my clothes soaked in blood from the hemorrhage. My 5 year old could have treated me, she knew Mommy had abnormal bleeding when we had to mop it up. 6000 bill to be told a miscarriage was a new pregnancy. DO BETTER

The Cardiovascular Department here at Loyola is outstanding. Both the doctors and the nurses were excellent during my overnight stay. I was extremely impressed with the service. My surgery was successful and everything went as planned. The only thing I don't like is the price of parking. That is a little bit ridiculous. They would have gotten 5 stars if I didn't have to pay to park.

Very unhappy looking crew, all I can hear them talk about is how they can't wait to get out of work and getting annoyed on the line. I walked all the way from Out patient center, made my order just to find out they don't take the app for payment. "we don't take that" I asked what's that....and all she can say was "that, we don't take that" as she points to my phone. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Will never recommend or come back. Even without the app.

My entire experience at Loyola Cardiovascular was exceptional. They were extremely professional and efficient across the board. The care I received was second to none and would absolutely go no where else. Thank you to all the teams involved.

I am considering an alternative to Loyola. The receptionist are rude and condescending to seniors, most of the nurses don’t stand up against their rude behavior. I don’t know when it became fashionable to address us as honey an and dear some nurses are doing the same thing. Why doesn’t Administration memo all departments not to call us honey and dear.trying to get through the call system is a nightmare , being lost in automation is no fun. If a person does manage to get through, there is more automated choices- that ever present message that tells a person to hang up and call 911 if this is an emergency. Why have receptionists embarrass a person by asking out loud about a bill that is owed.

The record department doesn’t want to work at all, I am calling for two weeks to get the records of my daughter, basically begging them, they keep promising and transfers me, but no results. I asked to transfer me to their manager since they don’t do their job, so they transferred again and no response from anyone. I also need an appointment to our primary care doctor, and I called on July, but our doctor can see us on October only, my daughter needs to be seen, to get the physical exam for school, which starts on August. They promised me someone will call me back, but no one called me ever back.

Wow this place is going downhill fast. Saw vomit in the hallways for well over 24 hours before it was cleaned up by the fitness center...adds to the dirty atmosphere. There is poor communication between staff. The constant same questions asked by multiple nurses just to repeat yourself. Doctors try everything they can to push a shot that is "needed" but struggle to provide ingredients and slipped by calling it a Vax. There is no urgency here anymore. The childish nurses in training are showing lack of. Elmhurst is way nicer and more professional. Unless ur dying...look elsewhere. And the parking...you have to pay to park at a hospital is probably the most ridiculous thing for a hospital to do

If I could give this hospital A Zero I would. I had the worst experience ever. No family member should ever come to a hospital and not be able to find their family member. because workers do not want to take out of their time to help You especially my son was injured on duty police officer. And was being brought for emergency surgery time is of essence and nobody wanted to help. I would say all employees here need to be retrained. Bedside manner is very important the place is very dirty and the people are very imperfectional. The halls are full of sick people and nobody cares to even cover them when their privates are showing. I would just say to anybody who is reading this beware don't bring your families here🙏🩵

I would give Loyola Hospital negative stars if I could. My loved one was transferred there two weeks ago and I have to spend all of my time checking in with the nurses and doctors who never call me back on his condition. He is very far from me and when I do make the trek out to see him there was dried blood in his mouth, teeth and lips which was sitting there for days and never was cleaned until I came to do it as he is shaking and weak. Stage 4 cancer. Do NOT send your loved ones here also the hospital is very dirty. I am still dealing with this place and urgently trying to get him somewhere where they actually care.

If you have to go to radiology with an infant I do not recommend it, the attention has been the worst. On November 8, I spent 7 hours there because my son was going to undergo 2 studies, they are procedures that take less time, but it was not our case, the nurse Ronalia and the resident Emily were not clear about what they were doing. My son was traumatized to the point that every time he sees a Dr, all he does is cry when he was a very happy child. Without saying that all those hours I spent without eating or drinking because I couldn't move from the place, my son ran out of formula, I had to talk to the nurse about it. No one came to ask if I needed anything. The only thing they did was blame me and tell me that the child was dehydrated, when he was not, but since the resident has no knowledge about foley catheters and how it is seen in the images (even if I mentioned it), she made my son suffer a lot by giving him unnecessary fluids.

There is zero sense of urgency in this facility. My fiance was told they needed emergency surgery YESTERDAY, and after being transferred out to Loyola, they've been waiting for 4 hours to even be seen. Why is it taking so long when they KNEW they'd be coming? Absolutely unacceptable. Addendum; While my innitial complaints still stand on the sense or urgency of the emergency room, I have nothing but praise for the nurses and doctors of this establishment. If you arrive with a scheduled appointment, you should have little trouble.

Wanted to say thanks to the receptionist from the ENT department, Sabrina! Such a sweetheart helping me with my insurance with a mix up. She took the time to explain things and educate me. Very caring employee :)

I thought this was supposed to be a good hospital with good drs. Apparently I was wrong. I called / messaged my dr bcuz I tested Positive with Covid , and I need the Paxlovid . Everyone of my family members who has Covid with me right now called their drs and got the medication sent right to the pharmacy. For some odd reason ( MONEY) they want me to have a visit with them. I said I wasn’t coming into the office so they said I could do an online visit . Okay why ? You got all the answers needed though my first message . Why not send over the Paxlovid to the pharmacy so I can get better faster. You only want to do a video visit for the money from my insurance . So messed up ! Meanwhile I’m sick at home in bed and I could I’d takin my first dose but instead I’m waiting bcuz I was told I could wait for the dr to call me and say it was okay for Them to not see me and send over the Paxlovid or I can go to urgent care and infect everyone there . Geee what should I do. I have them my oxygen, my blood pressure my heart rate my temperature and everything else they needed to know . So why I can’t just get this medication is beyond me . It’s all about money .

I booked an appointment for a Urologist. I had to wait over a month to be seen. The day BEFORE my appointment, I get a call saying that the Dr. I picked doesn't see female patients, and I have to find another Dr. So I had to wait ANOTHER MONTH. They waited a month to tell me, but they have plenty of time to call me every other week about my $700 bill. & if the billing department actually looked in my file they would see I've been making $100 payments each week. Oh, and get a itemized bill. I saw several of the same charges on my bill and when I called them out on it, they fixed it and my bill went from$1200 to $700. This company is a scam.

Never usually post reviews but Loyola and it's staff deserve this recognition. First off, folks need to realize it's a busy hospital with a volatile patient base. I came in with an extremely rough case and had to stand through it as well just like everyone else. Moreover, once I was up to be diagnosed/cared for, the concern was apparent and even while busy, the staff did find time for me and ultimately helped me through my ailment. I'm not sugar coating when I absolutely mean every member of staff was on point while working hard with extreme patience even with the most difficult folks entering the ICU. I saw this first hand. From the Security Staff, to the Nurse(s), to the Neurologist, to the regular doctors - I couldn't catch most names but the gentleman working the ICU on Friday the 26th (evening) Mike was awesome and kept folks calm. The surrounding nurses too were awesome on situations as well. Some other names I can recall throughout my stay are the following: Dr. Tunga - She was thoughtful and really had my best interest @ heart. A nurse named MK who was very receptive and kind. Erika R was great. The neurologist I had was great too and whomever such as Dr. Asconpe. PCT's definitely included. Even the food service was great. To be frank, not sure how folks can batter a place in which not only is there personnel doing a great job, but definitely a tough one that many cannot accomplish. If everyone could get Daisy awards here then they'd have my vote. I thank them for their professionalism and wish everyone involved there the best. Joseph

*sigh* unfortunately I used to work here, and today my sister had to go to the ER. She’s been waiting since 4pm, and it’s already 10pm! Are you kidding me right now?! I would had assume they would had been better, but it looks like Loyola just gets worse as time goes by. Smh! Do better and get your patients in on time!!!! If anyone wants to be seen asap GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Observation dept and respiratory therapy should know not every symptom is anxiety. Not everybody has it just because you may. You did nothing to solve the problem but were sure to make your patient feel bad for expressing the symptoms being experienced. Now home and nothing resolved and suffering. But I bet you’ll bill full price to the insurance. Too much gossip and down talking about patients at the nurses station. Own nursing assistance know you don’t take black people seriously. False promises of testing and unit change days of being there for what hope your proud of yourselves and rush to get off like you all kept talking about. Thanks for gambling with my wife’s life hopefully she can stick around to help raise our children. Be proud of earning the degree and less proud of your performance. Hope you all find some compassion at some point. Stop cramming your opinion into the patience head when you don’t know what you are talking about

Renee, Julia, and all of the nurses and Orthopedic surgeons in the Pediatrics unit were amazing! They were so attentive to my son and myself and made him feel better since we were in the hospital for his birthday! They sang to him, brought him a card signed by all of the nurses and a nerf gun! They were amazing!
