Be ready to walk a lot to cover the full stretch of the Sunday market street. Variety of food stalls, vendors selling common household things, footwear, clothes, books(some really good ones), fashion accessories etc. The Pondicherry Sunday Market dates back some 30 years and started as an initiative of a few local small traders who came here to sell their items. With time, the vendors began to receive positive client feedback, and as a consequence, the Pondicherry Sunday Market became a central attraction for everyone visiting the city.

Sunday market is very famous in Pondy, all items available less cost The Pondicherry Sunday Market dates back some 30 years and started as an initiative of a few local small traders who came here to sell their items. With time, the vendors began to receive positive client feedback, and as a consequence, the Pondicherry Sunday Market became a central attraction for everyone visiting the city. Over time, Sunday Market has grown as a famous shopping location in Pondicherry, with over 1000 businesses selling a diverse range of items. So even if you're not a shopaholic, a vast selection of things makes a visit to this quaint place worth your time. Sunday Market is perhaps Pondicherry's most popular hangout. The market provides a wide choice of products at reasonable prices, ranging from home goods to trendy clothing, education, and accessories. This popular Pondicherry location is also a bibliophile's dream since it is an open repository of old and new books. The countless varieties of fiction, non-fiction, self-care, autobiographies, etc., are a treat to every booklover. From English, French, to German, you can read or purchase books in any language right here. The market sells a wide range of fine bone china and porcelain products such as mugs, dinner sets, plates, etc. at reasonable costs. If you love colorful apparel, you can get your hands on some fantastic apparel and wearables here, such as t-shirts, scarves, shoes, and belts. This market also sells a large selection of fragrances.

It's not an unique market where you can find unique items. There are clothes at clear prices, toys, snacks etc. A pretty average scene you can find at many places in Chennai. An antique dealer is the only thing I found a bit different here.

like every Sunday, Mg road is flooded in the space of the street by numerous street vendors blocking traffic in the narrowness of the two-way street. You can find everything all along the long mg road. from food, DIY, furniture, spices, biscuits, sweets, bags, shoes, clothes, nothing is missing except the quality is to be checked on the item. The price is to be negotiated in any sales item, of course while keeping a smile and calm, Hindu wisdom. A good long day to wander around to find your Sunday treasure

It's a crowded place. As far as buying things everything is available. New ones and used items are also available. Taking car or two wheeler is not advisable as you may not find place to park the car for sure while two wheelers can be parked based on the space available. As far as the stuff that is available are toys, grooming accessories, clothes, certain bakery products and many more. And all of them at cheaper price than other places. Remember you need to bargain for min 30-40% at times 50% as well. So enjoy the market. No one wears a mask in case you want to take precautions pls wear one.

Very important place which has the capability to drag people towards by having unique property. That is all under one street. You can buy anything you want. All will be available. Similar to Paris corner in Chennai. You can negotiate the price by your own skill . But actually you will get at ultra reduced price if you negotiate more and more.

Extremely cheap and you can bargain. The best part was people are very friendly with tourists, specially the old aunties selling stuff. They're very humble and always smiling. Bought a lot of stuff, everything available from shells to ceramics and household items and dresses, accessories and what not. Very crowded but cheap.

Pro's: lots of household varieties & clothing available. U can bargain. Many 2nd hand products will be there for sale. Daily use clothes at very cheat price. Con's: quality is not guaranteed. Options will be very less. Congested place. No rest rooms & less Hygienic.

Sunday market on mg road is a lot crowded and you get no quality items here. I am told that the vehicles are banned in sunday and the shops open up on the street. I wandered for over an hour but could not find anything worth buying. Nehru street is adjacent to it and it has very good showrooms for clothes.

Good place to buy every single items is very cheap price and good quality... It is purely depending on buyer/seller negotiation skills :).. if you are coming to pondy or auroville, you must try visiting this. Mainly for ladies.

Visit here and purchase for daily usable dresses. Most of the essential things are available to buy at least price as maximum. Go here as early as possible if you are visiting for first time. There are lot to see, so take your time and spend. Carry your empty bag to keep things inside.

A flea-market where one can get virtually everything of daily need! A lively experience with buyers, lookers-on and just visitors jostling against one another, hoping to get a bargain to boast about! Towards evening, foodcarts also start plying their delicacies! Overall, a nice experience! πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Packet friendly shopping area, street shopping mostly on fashion.. for women, kids and men.. second quality clothes, shoes and many more.. be ready to walk as it's few streets full of shops, you have KFC, Puma, addidas on the same street, also i sply liked the shop called Hot boys for their good quality clothes.. you find some hidden gems if you spend some time searching.. also since it's crowded most times beware of thiefs..

Good shopping place every sunday. Price is not more nor less. If you know the actual rate of the product beforehand, you can bargain and make good purchase memories. Some vintage products are also available. Am sharing one of them.
