Went after a long time and happy to see that it's maintained very well. Toy train is functional. It costs 20rs for adult entry fee. Train and aquarium entries are 10rs for adults each. Aquarium has a wide varieties of fishes and turtle. Well maintained park area and equipments. Its a kinda must visit place on everyday evening if you have kids at home. There are jogging tracks as well. As users we do have responsibility to maintain cleanliness of the park.

Loved the greenery very much. I went on Monday morning, so less number of people. The garden looks beautiful. On weekends train ride, musical fountain like attractions are available. Green house, tree house etc are also there. Nice and beautiful place to hang out.

Decided to spend some time waiting for my family at the botanical garden with my son. We enjoyed the children's play area, big beautiful trees and the aquarium. The play area is well kept and neat, my son loved the twisted slide. I loved the various plants and trees maintained. Had to go one more time to enjoy the plants. The aquarium was a surprise for me with various varieties of fishes and well maintained name boards. There's a lawn area too to relax. A great place to relax and spend time with family :) Well maintained but the weather was so humid due to summer which made us sweat a lot.

Really love this place. Because inside the park you miss the entire outside world why means your eyes only looking for greenish area and flower and plant 🌲. They have lot of kids enjoyable innovative plans implemented. Really amazing. Fish aquarium and flower exhibition and local mini train and glass house lots of places are there. Everyone visit their place.

I visited during evening time. There was a nominal entrance fee. At the entrance the officials told to pay for carrying a Camera, i told that i am a tourist. There is extra fee for professional photography / videography. The place is a couple's friendly park. The garden would be a good place for nature enthusiasts. Since i am not i quickly completed a walk and went to the aquarium. It has another entrance fee. This place is good place for some good macro photography. Even though this place is good place. if you are staying for a short time you can skip this place. Overall experience was positive.

Botanical Garden is one of the tourist attraction is loacted in the centre of the city. This Botanical Garden bulit by French colonists on 22 acres with themed plots of plants and species. The garden also offer Toy train rides, six fountains one of which is a musical and dancing fountain is active on weekends in the evening. It also boasts of a Japanese rock structure and an aquarium.

The Botanical Gardens were laid out in 1826 in ornate French style, with pruned trees, beautiful flower beds and gravel lined paths and fountains. this place require serious renovation as there are no proper maintenance. Many leaves with disappointment. I almost knows this place since my childhood unfortunately it's loosing it's beauty.

It has lost its charm and a lot of it seems old and not renovated yet. Although, it is extremely beautiful in general inside. The pond was just dirty water with dust on top, along with the train that goes around the garden not working at all. It's nice for a walk and some picturesque moments. One nice part of the place was the aquarium, it was well maintained and had a wide variety of fish.

Nice place to see. The small toy train was the centre of attraction. It took 15 mins for the ride and the charge was reasonable of Rs.20. I enjoyed the ride. There were too many trees so the atmosphere was pleasant.

Beautifully maintained and a lot of photography opportunities for couples and lovers. One portion is occupied by the lovers and the other side families can enjoy. To visit the aquarium you have to pay and that doesn't worth the money. Train journey seems fine as the children will like it. There is no parking fee, which is again a good thing. If you want to spend a half day in the shades its a nice place to consider. There was no covid precautions at entrance.

Jogging path also available. One small lotus pond. For kids: Simple play area, small train ride, Fish aquarium. Kids will enjoy. As it is run by government, as usual not much maintenance. Entry ticket price is just 20 for adult and 10 for kids. U can definitely have a pleasant time. As it's just a small garden, U can hang out for an hour or 2 maybe.

I had first visited the place 6 years back. But now it has vast collection of plants and trees. Place has shade throughout showing its spread of green. There's a play area, green house, aquarium (charges separate for entry), Toy train. Unfortunately toy train is non-functional which is a huge drawback.

I visited during the flower show. It's a good place to hang around. Not many activities apart from the aquarium and toy train. No canteen or food stalls inside the garden.

Entry fee 20rs for adult and 10rs for child, but nothing was there. But no entry fee in flower show days,. Kids train is there inside the garden. Total timing for travel is 4 mins. 10rs for adult and 5rs for child. Just wait for flower show and visit there, so you will enjoy.

One of the tourist place recommended in Pondicherry. During thane cyclone many trees fell down.There are two entrance for this Park. Entry fee is 10 rupees and inside Acquarium is maintained ,if you want to visit aquarium ,you need to pay 5 rupees. For children, there is a play area seasaw, etc . There is a small Children train , that runs whole park , for that you need to pay and travel in train . Canteen is available inside. This place is perfect for picnic spot. But nowdays unwanted things are happening in the park, many lovers are occupying the park, family members and children Cant able to sit there. Management should take care of this activities.

We didn't stay for long in this place. It's not a big place though. Entry fee is Rs. 5. The hallmark is the toy train ( pretty old diesel engine). Ticket Rs. 10. Kids upto age 10 (Rs. 5).. Reasonably Big area and equipments for kids to play. Some area for the trees were good. But not all. Many places were not maintained well though. The car parking area was relatively bigger for a garden which wasn't that big. Couldn't appreciate variety of trees as well. (But not sure... )

More than a botanical garden with several plant varieties, it was more of a garden - not sure if this was because of season in January or otherwise. If you are looking for a green space, do visit but if you are a plant lover, may not make sense. There is a joy train ride for kids to enjoy and does have nice pagodas for a picnic/eating snacks. Would NOT recommend as a must visit in Pondi.

Wouldn't recommend. Not something that you would go to see in Pondicherry. You can go and sit there if you're getting bored. You can find beautiful flowers if you are a anthophile.

But all the facilities are very maintained there is no proper navigation about the places except a board on entrance which is mentioning about the attractions. One of the oldest botanical garden 🪴 in India,while being in the middle of the Pondicherry inside the Garden you can feel peaceful. The place has an entrance fee to get in as they need it for maintaining the garden. But is it maintained? - nope.. All I can see was dry flowers and I don't even know why they call it a botanical garden. As soon as you enter, you see the train station from where they send a train to the places around the garden.. But we didn't ride it as we decided to walk. Then the first thing we see is the green space (wrong name) where it ws so small that it takes seconds to circle around and get out. You can see the plants but I felt like it was all so common that you have seen them before. Then out of that you see some. Sort of viewing area of sorts, where one part of it was maintained and other part was completely dry. It was not good to look at. Then came the aquarium. We had to pay another entrance fee to see then. They had some good variety of them, but in the end, I didn't feel like they were maintaing them well. Some of them didnt have the details of the fish as well. Overall I feel Like I did not come in the right time.. Maybe they have some activities or during the rainy season it will actually be really good.. But when we visited in April it was not worth it.

Entry ticket is 20rs for an adult now. Nothing much to visit here, maintenance is not upto level. Lotus pond has full of algae. There are restrooms available here. The best part of visiting here is the toy train, which costs separate 10rs for one adult and 5rs for kids.

Aquarium in the botanical garden was good. If you're traveling with a kid, it's a good place to visit as you can engage the kid in the play area and Aquarium. Also you can take a long walk amidst the big greeneries.

There is actually nothing to see there. It is in a ruined state. There is no maintenace. There is an aquarium.but you need to pay another 10 bucks to get inside. You can see the same old fishes and turtles. It is usually good for those who like walking, spent some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
