Booked an AC room here. Checked in and spent half an hour in the room before we decided to cancel the booking. Owner charged 500 rupees which is understandable because of post check-in cancellation. Check-in and check-out and cancellation process was seamless and owner was professional. Was a case of mismatched expectations on how the rooms would be. I would really recommend that the owner replace the beds or get them cleaned. They caused itching. Good option for frugal travelers.

Have been living here for the past 3 months as a guest and the services are fantastic. Cleaning happens every day, the clothes and the rooms are kept clean all the time. Other visiting guests are too good. Often travellers from Bangalore, Chennai, France, Malaysia, England tend to stay here. For someone like me who runs a startup at Pondicherry, this place is the day saver as I could sleep well for sometime and get ready for work. Another advantage here, Rock Beach is just a few meters away

Stayed there for 2 Nights. I had booked online at ₹450 & Counter ₹350/night. This place is very close to railway station. Most of the tourist locations are in walkable distance from dorm. You can rent bikes also here. Rooms are very clean and tidy also this place is pet friendly

Apart from the location, nothing decent about this place. Booked this place Villa Olivia through Airbnb, when we arrived at the place, we were shocked! Not a place for family... They don't have parking, you get to park on the street at your own risk! Host isn't present at the location, rather a manager who doesn't even bother your presence. Bathroom stinks. Forfeited 1 day booking amount yet went ahead with the cancellation!!! Families booking by looking at the reviews - be aware and stay away!

My friend and I came to Pondicherry for an impromptu 3-day trip. Since our arrival until departure, our stay was not only safe (from a female traveller's POV) but also, so much fun amongst people we met at Valentine! I must mention, Senthil, the owner, who kept us laughing at his witty jokes all the time! He also helped us figure out the town, helped us explore other towns around east coast as well! All in all, an incredibly well-placed hostel - walking distance from the French Town, the Promenade, and the railway station. Don't forget to cuddle Senthil's the two beautiful dogs - Arjun and Sundari. Well, if you don't, they will make you. 🥹

My experience at Valentine Hostel in Pondicherry was nothing short of disappointing. The unclean rooms, unhygienic washrooms, and overall lack of cleanliness made me feel uncomfortable and misled. Despite booking for two days, I immediately decided to leave and find alternative accommodation nearby. The hostel offered only one 5-bed dorm, which was not only cramped but also emitted an unpleasant odor. The entire place seemed neglected and unkempt, with dirty floors and a general lack of cleanliness. The washroom facilities were unhygienic and fell far below acceptable standards. Additionally, the presence of two dogs that constantly scratched guests, along with the untidy birdcage, added to the unsatisfactory experience. Contrary to the advertised pictures, there were no proper workspace or kitchen facilities, and the lack of chill areas further diminished any potential for relaxation. The slow Wi-Fi speed only added to the frustration.

Worst experience, he did not give us the room and did not give us a place to sit too,untill the rooms were getting cleaned. We had already informed him about the early checkin. We had to wait in the beach and on roads no where to go. We then looked for another place nearby to stay. The advance amount also he did not return. I would say not to prefer this place if girls are going. Please look for a better option. Never had such a worst experience.

owner uncle is very kind hearted, he literally let me early check in at 7 itself! very decent hostel at a very reasonable price. will definitely visit again the next time i come to pondy.

Bad experience because the property management not maintain the booking ... i have already booked the room .. but i entered the room they told that room is booked .. but i had a good experience in mehaa guest house in sardar vallapai patel road.. 24/9/2022 ... i never see that type of irresponsible person ..

Other than great location in terms of ease of access ... the building is nt well maintained.. caged birds kept are sad to see... service was gud... manager was gud.. but for the price we pay they can do better in terms of hygiene n infra of building...

The hostel was Amazing ! Most of the attractions is in walkable distance ! The dogs were fantastic ! The host was superb and it was amazing staying there

This place was absolutely terrible to stay, we were sincerely misled by the good reviews but it had filthy bathrooms and unwelcoming staff, we immediately wanted to change rooms after we got there and saw people living like they did in slums, i seriously recommend you find some place else it had gone down in quality since I've been there the most recently,please don't go you can find much better and cheaper places in the same area that offer more and actually have toilets that done want to make you throw up, they also charged us the rate for an AC room and didn't give us one and many people just didn't care because the rate was low but i think there are much better places for cheaper or the same rate in area that are actually hygenic and are not the source of some sort of weird disease. Ruined my vacation in pondy please don't go

Me and my friends stayed here for 2 nights, rooms are cozy. All the mentioned facilities are available, it's situated in great location, very near to railway station and also to many tourist places, you can also rent bikes here. The host is very friendly, he even let us keep luggage for extra few hours, the price is decent, we even modified our check in check out time to our needs, Washroom looks dirty, may be because it became old , but it's neatly cleaned and there is no smell, Beds are good with clean sheets. The only con i found was there are too many mosquito , we had to buy repellent from outside, if they could do something about this , it would be great, there are two dogs both friendly, especially Arjun , she was so friendly, you can definitely come here if u are coming with friends, not recommended for family as sometimes People smoke here

We stayed here for two days and opted for female dorm. The hostel is safe and comfortable for solo female travellers and girls generally.The host was very sweet and welcoming. There is cute dog in this hostel which is also very welcoming and playful! The hostel is located in the heart of the town. It's is only walkable distance from railway station , promenade beach and to the ashram. Happy stay!!

Best hostel ever. Senthil is so welcoming and helpful. It’s a good place to be in Pondi. All the good places are nearby. Apart from all these he has a cute little hooman lover, Arjun 🐶 🫶🏻

The owner is literally the best host you could have! Best for budget stays, this hostel made my trip so cost effective! Arjun is a sweetheart pet, I was not scared of her despite not being a person who is friendly with animals.

Caretaker of this hostel is careless and disrespectful, i booked 1 room for 2 days a week back and it was confirmed that time and when day came i went for check-in in this hostel but caretaker said rooms are booked and he said he called me for confirmation but i didn't get any call from him. Because of this my plans in trip didn't work accordingly. Worst experience ever happened. Whenever u ppl book any hotels or rooms then once call and confirm or else u ppl can also face same.

Rooms are good , one can get electric kettle, tea, sugar etc within the room. A mini fridge is also available. Good for budget traveler like me.

Not even worth for a single star. Don't book rooms here if your booking confirm it immediately. Hostel owner is letargic and gives irresponsible answer ( When we had booked a room and went he told there is no room available inspite of booking the room a week before and he is talking to us from his bed he doesn't even have a basic etiquette how to greet a guest.) Pathetic experience and hostel owner behaviour was very poor and indecent.

Safety comes first for me as a solo traveller and I really felt safe at the hostel and Annas where very calm,kind and cool.It felt like home and comes with decent budget. I definitely recommend it and next time if I happens to visit Pondicherry again I'll stay in this same hostel.And the fun fact is most of the places are nearby excluding Serenity beach and paradise beach,it takes 20-25 mins from the hostel. Thank you so much Valentine guest house members, couldn't thank you because I was getting late for my next stop so had to leave without saying thank you. Also to Kuchi (Arjun) miss ya little lady🌹🌈🌈. I had a great stay and great experiences💕💕. It was indeed a very calm and sweet hostel🌹.

I booked it through booking.com and it is showing me confirmed while the property host has given the room to someone else. I knew its good Friday and hence I did advanced booking, however they gave it to someone who paid extra money. This money greed is really bad in this industry.

The place is very decent , my roommates at the time were very decent . Personally I'll suggest getting a AC room although they only turn on the AC after 8 pm which is the only setback . Rest everything is cool . The common kitchen , fridge , Rocky beach nearby.
