Don’t go there with French cuisine expectations, you get disappointed. It’s just an ordinary cafe with regular junk food with little high prices. But they serve good quantity, we had ordered Mexican sandwich, Chicken burger and French fries. My friend had sandwich and he said it was good but I was disappointed with chicken burger bcoz I got more potato than chicken. French fries were too oily.

A good place for dining but there is a lack of hygiene. We went here for a highly anticipated french breakfast but to our dismay they don’t serve that during the mornings. So instead we opted for some coffee and some cake instead. I really loved the soft and incredibly fluffy cakes which melted in your mouth with a slight crunch. I also loved the coffee. It was good and texture was silky and creamy. However, the hygiene was mediocre. The tables were dirty and crows were all over the place. Please improve on this. Overall, a good place for breakfast but only if you want South Indian food or cakes.

Loved the experience here. This place is located just on the beach . It's open 24*7.If you get a seat at the top deck then nothing like it.Its majorly a self service restaurant which is located on the ground floor where you can pay first and then self serve yourself and take your food items at the upper deck.At the upper deck their is a wood fired pizza shop. The wood fire pizza specially the non veg ones are good(don't expect some fancy cheese pull stuff). The cold coffee over there is amazing and goes well with their wood fired pizza.

So basically we came here for some french dish but as we reached we saw one group just move out and came to know most of dish were left behind unfinished. They reviewed unworthy taste so I shifted my order to cold coffee which was also unworthy. If you wanna enjoy sunset must come to waste time and money

A good coffee house with awesome beach view point. Almost 80 different varieties of food menu and all is in better price. Awesome calm place to spend some time viewing sunrise at the beach. Price of cappuccino is around 65bucks and a omelet with toast will cost 120 bucks, but it is cheaper in that area and the taste is really good. There is no drive or parking facility there because the road is prohibited with driving. I suggest the management to take some good team to take care of cleanliness, and again it is responsibility of visitors too.

Le Café is a must visit place when in Pondicherry. The best thing about this place is they have 24*7 service. The upper sitting area has a better view but the lower area is equally breezy and calm. The prices are reasonable and the food quality and quantity both are really good. They have self service dining but it doesn't matter since the service is quick. I'm going to this place for my breakfast from the very first day of my Pondicherry Trip. The cool fresh air and sound of sea waves while having a super scrumptious French Breakfast/Brunch and sipping your favourite cuppa coffee is absolutely breathtaking!

Atmosphere is good. Best place to have coffee near rock beach. The price is little expensive but worth to try it. Best place to have coffee is the morning when sun is rising and the evening time. The seat arrangement is good. Best view of beach from the cafe. This place was the port when the French ruling period. Then they changed it to cafe. Still you can see some of the photos of the old port in the cafe. Still they are following the heritage. And the putting items also good.

The renovation work is going on. The present cafe will not provide the previous ambience. But you can go for their dishes and coffee. Must try dish: Chicken Lasagna

10/10 points for location by the beach, it's a good experience to eat by the sea. No take away or delivery option at all only dine in. Self service only. Must try pizza and desserts. Food is quite expensive here and it's like an old canteen. I think it's famous because it's very old cafe however service was not that great.

Location - The location of this place is fantastic - it's right on the beach. You can feel the ocean spray while having your food. It's easy to spot and easily accessible. Food - Had a sandwich, lasagna and tea. The lasagna was just so-so but everything else was good.

We kinda went during the wrong time i guess. They were renovating so we all had to sit out on the marble benches, order & get the food ourselves. Maybe they were short on staff that's why. However the food was good 👍🏻

The food was above average. This place has Self Service. If you are going for the view then roof top is a must for seating. Plan for Sunsets. That would be the best time to go there.

Dont get fooled by the name its a beautiful place with decent pricing. To have coffee, tea and snacks. During my 4 day stay in Pondicherry I came here almost every day. Loved their chocolate croissant (pain au chocolate) and expresso americano. French fries are also good. Its very crowded during weekends but you can easily find some place to sit facing the beach. It says open 24 hours.

Le Cafe, situated along the picturesque coastline of Pondicherry, offers a delightful beachside escapade that beckons patrons to immerse themselves in the soothing embrace of the waves while savoring a cup of coffee or tea. The cappuccino, a star in its own right, captivates with a bold and indulgent flavor, a testament to the cafe's commitment to quality. However, the cold coffee falls short of expectations, leaving room for improvement in the realm of chilled beverage offerings. The ambiance at Le Cafe is undeniably charming, creating a haven for relaxation within its comfortable seating areas. Yet, a noticeable drawback emerges in the form of an extended wait to settle the bill, highlighting an aspect that could benefit from refinement. Despite this, for those who cherish panoramic beach views and seek the charm of a quaint atmosphere, Le Cafe stands as a worthy destination. The culinary aspect of the experience contributes significantly to its allure, with the food surpassing expectations and earning praise for being above average. This adds another layer to the overall appeal of the cafe, elevating it beyond a mere beverage stop to a culinary destination. One distinctive feature of Le Cafe is its self-service format, contributing to a laid-back and casual atmosphere. Patrons have the autonomy to navigate their dining experience, adding an element of independence to the overall ambiance. The convenience of being a 24-hour operation further enhances its accessibility, catering to a diverse range of schedules and preferences. For those seeking a heightened experience, the rooftop seating is highly recommended, offering an elevated perspective that pairs seamlessly with the coastal setting. Sunset visits are particularly advised, transforming the cafe into a magical space bathed in the warm hues of the descending sun, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. Le Cafe, beyond being a culinary haven, emerges as a perfect beachside retreat with rates that remain affordable despite the enchanting views on offer. The self-service model, coupled with the 24-hour operation, adds a layer of flexibility, making it an accessible choice for patrons at any time of the day. Considered a must-visit spot in Pondicherry, Le Cafe sets itself apart by providing round-the-clock service, ensuring it accommodates various preferences and schedules. While the upper seating area boasts a superior view, the lower area is equally inviting, with a breezy and calm ambiance. Reasonable prices align with the quality and quantity of the food, ensuring a satisfying dining experience. The charm of Le Cafe extends beyond its culinary offerings, encapsulating the essence of Pondicherry. The cool, fresh air, coupled with the rhythmic sound of sea waves, creates a picturesque backdrop for indulging in a scrumptious French breakfast or brunch. For those starting their day, the cafe becomes a regular breakfast spot, offering an immersive experience that seamlessly blends gastronomy with the soothing elements of nature. In conclusion, Le Cafe in Pondicherry is a testament to the harmonious integration of culinary delights, scenic beauty, and a relaxed atmosphere. Despite minor areas for improvement, such as the wait time for settling bills, its overall charm and affordability make it a standout destination for locals and travelers alike. Whether drawn by the allure of a beachside cafe, panoramic views, or the convenience of 24-hour service, Le Cafe promises a memorable and satisfying experience for those seeking a perfect blend of gastronomy and coastal tranquillity

Le Cafe offers a charming beachside experience, allowing you to savor your coffees or tea amidst the soothing sound of waves. While the cappuccino impressed with its rich flavor, the cold coffee was merely average. The ambiance is delightful, with a comfortable seating area perfect for relaxation. However, the downside was the extended wait to pay the bill, which could use improvement. If you cherish beach views and seek a quaint little spot, this cafe is worth a visit.

It's a government owned beachside cafe that provides you with a stunning view of the sea, soulful sounds of the waves whilst you sip your coffee. Open seating arrangements including rooftop seating gives space to enjoy the sea breeze while you have food. Food is okay. It is a self service cafe. Only the atmosphere is lit.

Good place with amazing audio visuals of the sea. We were here during breakfast hours, please weather and less crowded at that hour. The quality of Coffee was amazing, so was croissant.

Great place just on Promenade beach to sit, watch the sea and have a cup of coffee. Splendid atmosphere which I think no other place provides in Pondy so close to the beach. The food though is a different story. We ordered their toasts. Very normal dry omelets. Not a fan of the food. The coffee was decent. Tried their cappuccino. The service is a whole other story. It's supposed to be self serve and the person billing is least interested in the customer. Doesn't provide suggestions, doesn't answer properly and despite that managed to get the order incorrect. Had no energy to fight so just went with it. Must visit for the location, everything else is a let down (at least for breakfast)

It's a self service stall... atmosphere was hot in the afternoon on free air because near the sea, but the beuty lies in location. And no view to the ocean properly, for why I visited the place...price is also higher...and no common foods or local food available here...I had a milk shake (Rs.105) and it was good...

Ordered the triple club sandwiches. It's completely worth and fills your belly. Milkshakes are average here. The seaside vibe is cool.

Very old cafe at Pondicherry, located just on the Rock beach, White town. Menus are good and will cost around Rs.500.00 for normal breakfast for a couple. The view is fantastic and the building is nostalgic, but it requires some maintenance. We went in the evening at around 8PM and sat on the terrace and it was excellent feeling with soft sea breeze blowing. It appears that the restaurant is run by State and the service, though not awful is not upto the mark. Main problem is language. They never speak any language other than local and the tourists from other states are unable to communicate which affects their service further. Moreover, the delivery is not queued up properly. Persons knowing local language comes and expedite their orders whereas others like us has to wait long and then accept the food, which sometimes get cold and sometimes run out of stock for the delay. Don't know why the guys don't even speak English when a bulk of the tourists are non Tamil speaking. Overall its a 4 star place but 1 star reduced for the language problems faced.

Cleanliness: 2 stars. The place is very unhygeinic. The tables are not cleaned and they have a lack of staff members to clean the tables. Food: 4 stars. The food is very tasty and delicious. We had ordered a queen's nut cake and two cold café lattés.The queen's nut cake was scrumptious and as soon as you bite into it, you can feel the taste of many different nuts. The cold café latté was also good. Overall it is a wonderful place for the food and scenery alone but it will be a little difficult to sit on the table due to laxk of hygeine.
