DO NOT BOOK at AMAMI BEACH RESORT!! I booked for 3 nights 3 adults but what they had listed on their website is FAR from what you’d expect to see in person. We walk in and all you hear is the loud noise from the outside.. They listed high speed internet and there was no WiFi in our room unless you go downstairs and sit at their restaurant. They listed with ac our room only had 2 fans. Not only did it not have high speed internet as they listed on their website.. it also did not have television (what hotel doesn’t have television?!). Their food is WAY too OVERPRICED, NOT good, and VERY small portions.. I spoke to their manager Felipo (who was drinking when I spoke to him) VERY unprofessional… I informed him about my concern requesting an early check out and a refund for the 2 nights we will no longer use. He told me “not to worry” and that he “would take care of me in the morning regarding my request”. I think he just told me that so I would leave and he can continue drinking. Morning comes and he informed me he will NOT refund me the 2 nights we didn’t use which ISN’T RIGHT and NO CUSTOMER should be treated that way. Also the ac turned off in the middle of the night so it was hot.. and the water in our bathroom turned off in the morning when we woke up, my brother had to fill the bucket outside just to be able to flush the toilet. VERY UNSATISFIED! AMAMI is an EMBARRASSMENT to Oriental Mindoro. If I can rate this Resort 0 I would. Never coming there again!!!

What a athletic place to stay. My Filipino family and me loved it. Great in expensive place to stay. I truly recommend this place for a couple days.

NEVER AGAIN! Don't come here! I’m warning you. Beachfront Villa is a tricycle ride away from the reception/restaurant. The beach has a lot of small and big stones; hence, it's not a good place to swim. Also, bring your own toiletries and a bath towel! Electricity went out on our second day at around 4 pm. We called and informed the receptionist. She asked if we really needed the electricity, and we said yes; we needed to charge our phones, of course, and she said that because there were only the two of us in the villa (me and my husband), they would turn on the generator after an hour. After more than an hour, the electricity came back but went off again around 7 pm. We went to the reception/restaurant and informed them. 3 to 4 staff asked us again and again if we just came from the villa. As if they don’t believe us. Then tadaa! They checked the villa. As if we would get anything if we lied about the electricity. Right before we finished dinner, the staff informed us that we would be transferred to another place, which is under Amami still. We transferred. For the transfer, we paid for the tricycle ride. There was no wifi in the new room, nor any signal even using mobile data. We did not even receive an apology. We asked for anything complimentary due to the inconvenience. The staff gave us complimentary pineapple juice. This is ridiculous.

Rooms: 1 star units are too old in person too far from the pictures in the website. I booked attic(floors are old),fresh house(very old house) and deluxe(1). I also booked room 5 below attic house shower water is very slow.

I had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at Amami! The place is calm and cosy by the sea, lovely decorated and located near beautiful beaches. The staff is kind and helpful. The room could be improved but remains okay. The restaurant is amazing, offering fresh and homemade food from breakfast to diner, both Italian and Filipinos meals are delicious! I would highly recommend :) Grazie mile Amami team

Stay away from Amami I booked 6 nights for 3 people and the day before they said they assume we were supposed to come another day despite clearly info which date we were coming The food; expect the same 4 options for main course - EVERY SINGLE DAY! Furthermore, you have to inform them again and again about the rights for your voucher and what you have paid for . The day before leaving we were told we should leave since they still did not have the dates in order for our stay . And told us to change room which they changed mind about the same day . Amami has became the embarrassment of Oriental Mindorro and also rumors the hotel will stop contract with the owner - be careful of your money!

If you want a nice beach front resort far from all the noise, this is the best place to stay in Puerto Galera. Located 3km away from white beach. Restaurant offers great tasting italian and filipino cuisine. This is a favorite resort for foreigners and locals alike. Beach is nicer as well compared to white beach. Although rooms need a bit of a maintenance work. Villas in the beach front have no aircon, only fans. Toilet/shower is small. But I’d still stay here vs other resorts/hotels in white beach.

The “garden room” should be called the road room. They are decrepit, loud and smelly. We left right away… Update: Amami replied their resort is not on the road…. Are you kidding? Your “garden” rooms are literally across the road where all the tricycle are waiting….

I love the atmosphère, beach front resort with great food quality, they buy fresh fish every day directly from the fishermen. You can swim with the sea turtles and the staff is lovely! They havé kids feeding program every sunday for thé native village nearby. You can also have massage in room, rent scooter and go on tour packages. Will definetely come back!

We loved our stay in the Amami Beach Resort since the sole purpose of our trip is to relax. I like how the atmosphere of this place is calming. The staff are great and approachable. The beach feels private since there is only few people on it. The garden rooms is not that aesthetically pleasing but was comfortable to stay in. The food is good, serving size was just the right amount. We especially love the full body massage. Overall, we had a great time staying and will definitely come back. Thank you.

Very reasonable room rates with free meals. Accomodations modelled to rural livings hence providing simple rural home experiences such as nipa hut style rooms with wooden floors and sawali partitions. Excellent food and services specially the pizza.Great sample of rural lifestyle enticing foreigners Minus point is the beach, too rough/rocky.

We planned to stay here for 2 nights since its near white beach and port since there are lot of good reviews. But I was wrong. The day we checked in I lay down on the bed because I was too exhausted of driving motorbike under the scorching sun but behold the pillow smells horrible so I called their reception to request to have it changed before we went to the mangyan village. after 5 hours roaming around and went back to hotel. Guess what? the pillow case havent been changed so I call again and yet no answer . So, i just slept with no pillow . the following morning i checked out because It was the worst stay in my entire travel life.

A bit away from the commercial white beach area, but best for rest and beach recreations. A tour guide is available at anytime should you wish to have one.

This is very hard to rate because the staff were VERY friendly and accomodating, but i have to be very honest about this. Pros: as mentioned, the staff were very accommodating, friendly and there is nothing bad i can say about them. Cons: this place is very far, cons because for me i like where the action is. For some, they will love it because its very peaceful and far from the noice. My 1st room was the tree house: it was cute but i can here ppl walking about sa next door. It can be very lound if other guest are inconsiderate or have kids. My 2nd room: deluxe AC room. The main bed is a bit hard. I like the side bed more. For both rooms, the mosquito net was very hard to use Nd i cant seem to fully cover myself, hence the occassional mosquito bite. Resto: because its very far from other places/resort, ur kinda stuck with their resto. And it is very very expensive.. however some guest paid through voucher so they have a meal set aside for them. Again the foof is very expensive and for the price, I've had better tasting food with the same price point. Ps: i love that there was this guy who stepped in the resot to offer to buy tickets for me days before my departure.

1hr for a bruchetta really!!?? Place was quiet. 1hr really?? Half of the menu also unavailable. This place sucks! Not on the sea/ocean also. Unfriendly rude staff with fakes smiles and u get hassled by boatmen and street kids! Don't stay here!!!! So many better places to stay. You have been warned. Rooms I would give minus 5 out of 10 also. Don't make the same mistake I did!! You will regret it. I'm sensing most/all of the positive reviews are fake ones. Spoke to the management who look so moody and unfriendly they didn't even care!

Restaurant: my first order of pizza day shift is excellent pizza... But our second order if pizza is not very good, because of diff. Cook. But I still have to pay even though I did not eat the dinner pizza. Dessert crepemangoo and ice cream excellent. Ocean - not a comfortable to swim if your not a swimmer.. Ocean is less privacy too close to the wall and a lot of fishing boat. We are still going to the white beach it's much cleaner and comfortable to sit at the beach. Only down side everyday has to go by tricycle cost me 300 pesos a day. Convinent store is walking distance right after you out to the main road. They're activities offered is a quite high compared to getting offer outside.

Amami can be found in Talipanan Beach tucked away from the populous and more lively areas like White Beach (2kms away/PHP150 via tricycle). What the area lacks in choices for food and souvenir shops, it more than makes up for in peace and quiet. Although you may miss out on the action packed jet skis and parasailing found on other beaches you can still book your island tours and snorkeling trips through the Amami front desk. Their authentic Italian restaurant, with Filipino staples, is perfect for sharing and is great for your everyday meals. The resort truly shines with their villas closer to the restaurant and when the tide is at its highest. I wish I could say the same for their Garden Villas which need much improvement. The Garden Villas are very far away from the shore and are the weakest link of this resort. With the constant power and water outages and zero wifi signal, it is a huge contrast to the other villas we stayed at. Personally, I found their beach to be very rocky especially when the tide is at its lowest but it really does transform into a beautiful swimmable beach as the tide rises. Disregarding our experience at the Garden Villa and the rocky low tides, the overall experience was great and my compliments go out to all the members of the staff who were warm and kind. Amami is the perfect location for the tourists who favor tranquility and privacy. *Some rooms have weaker water pressure, varying strengths of signal, and closeness to the beach so make sure to choose your room wisely *If you're booking through Airbnb, they're booking you the garden villa. I suggest going to their website.

I loved it here, rooms are more traditional build like kubos, more rustic which in prefer. Staff were very friendly. Food was good. Beach was tidal water was very clean and some corals scattered not to far from shore. Atmosphere is very relaxed and quiet, not of the usual noise from like white beach which is just down the road. Planning to come here again next years holiday.

Amami Beach Resort offers a captivating blend of modern comfort and traditional charm. The traditional kubo huts stand out as a unique accommodation choice, providing an authentic experience that connects guests with the rich local culture. Nestled amid lush surroundings, these huts offer a serene retreat, allowing guests to unwind in a harmonious setting. The culinary experience at Amami Beach Resort is a delightful journey for the senses. The diverse menu showcases a fusion of local flavors and international cuisine, catering to various palates. However, what truly sets Amami Beach Resort apart is its exceptional staff. The hospitality extended by the team goes beyond mere service – it reflects a genuine warmth and dedication to ensuring guests feel at home. In summary, Amami Beach Resort offers a memorable escape where the traditional kubo huts, delectable cuisine, and exceptional staff converge to create an immersive and enchanting retreat.

THIS IS SUCH A GREAT PLACE TO STAYYYY!!! Very affordable and the room is comfortable. One thing I won't forget about this place is their staff GLENN. He is very accommodating and he made our stay more unforgettable. Glenn is really nice in doing his job. Not a beach front location, even though their villas are, it is not a sandy beach. It is actually a pebble beach but you can walk about 500m to 1km to reach the sandy beach. * Location - a plus that they are away from the noise and crowd of white beach which I prefer. You can rent a motorbike for 5h pesos a day (discounted if you rent for 3 days or more) * Rooms - we avail their 3 days 2 nights promo all inclusive. They mentioned that you have a choice for a room -- beach front or garden. We got the garden room but it is misleading. They are showing a nice nipa hut in their ads but in reality it is just a plain old concrete room which has no view whatsoever. They do not provide hygiene kit (the usual soap,shampoo,toothbrush,etc.). The other room that my friend got has a weak AC. * Service - so so. They are understaffed. I noticed in their reception/restaurant there are only 2 or 3 people. 1 on the front desk which also acts as a waitress if there are many guests/diners, 1 as a waiter slash cook and then the actual cook who is not always present. They do not have a room service. * Food - ok. Not exceptional. They have different cooks so expect that your food will vary in taste (mostly salty) and in serving amount. They have limited choices if you avail the all inclusive promo. They would provide 1 pitcher of water for each voucher availed when you are dining but the other pitcher after that is charged 20 PESOS IF YOU ARE A LOCAL AND 40 PESOS IF YOU ARE A FOREIGNER. LOL! Better buy 1 liter or 8 liters in 711. 1 glass of milk is 100 pesos -- hilarious, ridiculous! Go get your food somewhere else, there are a lot of restaurants and convenience store in the island. Oh their cocktails, i do not recommend it! They do not have a bartender so if you order something from their menu, they would turn you down because the staff there obviously do not know how to make the drink you like. * Internet/ WiFi / Mobile signal - internet in the resto is slow, the one in my room (garden, roadside room) was fine -I was able to work. Mobile signal in my room was weak both Smart and Globe. All in all it was okay! 2k for a night with AC room and food included is not bad. I just hope they get better in terms of service and the food they serve. This establishment does not provide free potable drinking water which is a turn off, at least for me.
