The park is awesome and the visit is worth it, for the small price. There are all kinds of animals, which were rescued from dangerous situations, and cannot be released into wildlife, as they would die. The animals are healthy though, and you can observe them almost in their natural habitat. There are mostly birds and some mammals.

This is a regular ZOO, not a sanctuary. Thy will charge you wuite a lot and all you’re gonna see are the animals kept in small cages or volieras, with clear signs of depression due to capivity. Not a single of them looked like an animal during a recovery. The guide is making quite a show, there’s no animal care behind that. Avoid this place by all means.

Very nice place. I loved to see local birds closely. Some of the animals there have a sad story tho, for an example there is a Tucan which no longer has wings, his previous owner (drugdealer) cut his fur that he would not able to fly away. I'm glad that there are still places where people take a good care of animals.

Really nice tour, it's peacefully and it's a perfect timing. Approx 1h30 There are only animals that aren't capable of being in the nature anymore Not a lot of mosquitoes. The guides are really friendly and give you lots of information about the animals and the region. I highly recommend as it worth it.

Waste of money unless you speak Spanish. I messaged a month ago to request an English tour and offered to pay more. Received absolutely no message back. But yet, here on Google I read that others had English speaking guides. It reminds me of an older zoo, where some of the cages are rather small for their animals and the ocelot was pacing (possibly from boredom). What a way to ruin our last morning in Iguazu. I would have done better to visit the National park again. I have already warned others in the industry not to bother. On the way out, I explained that I learned nothing as it was only in Spanish. The guy at the gate apologized and offered me a refund. I gave him 1/2 back and said to keep it as a donation, although I have no clue what we’re donating to. He told me that the next day there would be the first tour in English but that doesn’t help us because we’re leaving. And trying to coordinate via WhatsApp is useless as they only send the same photo back to you that says hours. Not very well organized.

A nice conservancy project. We had a good time, it's well designed and the guide was funny and knowledged, but as a bird lover I wish they will accept that some people want to have them as pet and explain a little how to (buy it legal, feed them 90% fruits and veggies and just 10% seeds, get a humongous case, take them to the vet, be aware they live more than 50 years) instead of making us sounds like horrible heartless monsters.

Absolutely beautiful animals. We saw that they were well cared for. The reason I can't give them 5 stars, is because the tour is ONLY in Spanish. There are no bilingual tours, and there are no reading materials for the non-spanish speakers. This despite paying 2.5x times more for tickets being a foreigner. It was 10000 Argentinian pesos for a tour we couldn't understand.

Guys it’s 2021 and all the animals are still locked in tiny cages?? Please wake-up and change your systems, especially if you pretend to be animal lovers. Terrible to watch the animals living in way too small cages in the middle of the jungle :( If you like animals I wouldn’t recommend a visit here.

(Translated by Google) We loved it!! The work these people do for the animals is beautiful. It is an ideal walk to live with the family and become aware of animal abuse. The guide was super attentive and explained everything to us. Tip: put on a mosquito protector and bring fresh water. Beautiful ride and thanks to these folks for doing this job. GüiráOga ("the house of the birds") is a wildlife refuge, near Puerto Iguazu. It was a very interesting place to visit. When you arrive, you book a tour. You are taken into the refuge by wagon, and then provided a tour of the various birds and animals recovering there. Though a very informative tour, it was given in two languages and so it more difficult to stay engaged throughout the tour. Admirable work by this refuge whose mission is to RESCUE the animals of the missionary forest that arrive at the shelter, RELEASE those who have a chance to survive in nature and recover, and INVESTIGATE and develop education programs to raise awareness about the need to protect wildlife.

Animal Shelter with lots of interesting species to see. We enjoyed our stay, however given that the individual cages are relativelty small, a smaller group would have made it easier for everyone to see the animals. No English guides were available, which could also be improved since there are usually many gringos around

Very interesting. They get the animals from closed zoos, animal traffic, pets, injured by cars, etc. and the purpose is to always give back to the environment unless this is not possible. The only controversial thing was the cats were in pretty small cages. And it's only in Spanish

5 usd ticket, but it's an well organized wild life rescue. It's about one hour tour, you get to see different rescued animals such as wild cats, mountain cats, parrots, deers tortoises, eagles and a tapir. The staff is very polite and helpful.

(Translated by Google) Very nice tourist walk for the whole family. In total, it lasts an hour and a half and the first part takes you in a trailer pulled by a tractor to the middle of the mountain where there is an animal reserve. They are concerned with protecting animals that for some reason need a shelter. They are mainly animals that cannot go back to the wild. The place is very careful and the animals too. Very good guide.

The most incredible animal sanctuary with caring people full of interesting stories! If you’re staying in Puerto Iguazu, this is a must do! The last admission is at 4:30pm so you can stop by after seeing Iguazu Falls. They also don’t get any government investment so every penny goes to help the animals in need.

Nice place with some animals. but for non Spanish tourist it might a bit less interesting. As you need to go around the place and not understand what is being told about the animals.

  • 1/5 Achim S. 1 year ago on Google
Attention, only for Spanish-speaking people. The guide fobbed us off with an arrogant "No" after asking if she could speak English. The enclosures are also in a very poor condition, the ones for the wild cats much too small. Not comparable to the South African Animal Research facilities.

Amazing work from the staff and everyone who takes care of these beautiful animals to preserve endangered species. A good place to reflect on animal abuse. The tour last 1h40mins, AFFORDABLE prices, there is a small kiosk and public toilets.

Nowhere did it say that you can only go on a guided tour. We arrived at 12noon and the next tour was at 1pm and it's only 1.5 hours. We didn't wait.

  • 3/5 Jeroen B. 3 months ago on Google New
Tour is fully in Spanish and no signs etc in English. If you go on a rainy day like we had you won't see much as it will be dark and the animals will mostly be hiding with you wondering what's in the cage

Animal rescue center. Very nice place to visit when the weather is not letting you into the waterfalls. I enjoyed the visit even though there was no English guide

  • 1/5 Kjell V. 5 months ago on Google
We had to pay more than double the entrance rate because we are not of Argentinian nationality but there was no English speaking guide. So we paid more for less. Very unfair system. Also small cages for the animals. Quite sad really.

Awesome tour and really great rewilding efforts by this team. Our tour guide was incredibly informative and patient, great for children and adults alike. The animals are in great shape and you can tell they’re very well cared for. Definitely worth a visit! (tour only in Spanish)

Valitettavasti jos et puhu tai ymmärrä espanjaa, tämä on aika huono kierros. Opastettu kierros on ainoastaan espanjaksi.

(Translated by Google) The work they do in Güira Oga is incredible, I think it should be among the main attractions to visit in Iguazú, they could put it as a prominent place and much more notorious. Everything is excellent, they really know what they do with the animals, from the respect, the preservation of the species, to the professional love that they put into the refuge, all the specimens are in very good care and preservation conditions, there is no absolutely nothing to do with captivity or a zoo, far from that (luckily). It is an organization that depends on the contribution that we can make together. Safety pin!!!! The facilities are very good too, suitable for all ages since the preservation of nature is something that should be in everyone's interest. I wish there were more places like Güira Oga, it is admirable !!!! Love this place and tottaly support the main goals of this reservoir. 1st- assist and give shelter to animals who have suffered any wrong made by human hand with the objective to a) Return to the wild b) stay in the shelter to live as good as possible if too much damage was done to them 2nd- teach people about the dangers of destroying animals habitats and the obvious issue with animal trafficking and wild animals as pets(most times not to humans but the damage that we provoke on them). The work is great, the explanation is simple but clear and the animals are as cute as all animals allways. Keep up the good work.
