Juan Rivera was the absolute best. This was the best food and drink we had in Puerto Plata and a beautiful view.

Do yourself a favor and make this a must stop destination if you find yourself within 50 miles of Puerta Plata. Juan provided A+ service and his personality was infectious. The chef has to be the best chef on the island, bar none. I had the Dominican lobster and it was seasoned and grilled to perfection. We stumbled upon this restaurant and will definitely return the next time we’re on this side of the island.

All 5’s. Great food and the people were even better. Had the calamari and salmon and shrimp fettuccine. Best ever! I went early so I’m not certain if it gets packed or not. Early: the ambiance was good enough for a romantic outing yet chill enough to dine alone and take in the views. 👌🏾

We stayed here at the hotel for three nights. Although we went into town and tried some of the other local restaurants we always wished we were back at the Skylight. The staff were incredible - always happy to see you and willing to help - Thanks, Juan! The food and presentation were great! They have several options for Dominican meals including goat, which was outstanding. The seafood was well prepared and there was always enough to make it to your last bite of the meal. There are definitely other dishes, like steak and pasta for those who want to eat like you do at home. Our favorite place to eat was the tables on the balcony where you could enjoy the breezes and the view - although the view most anywhere in the restaurant is great. They also have a full bar and offer several unique drinks - like the Skylight Mexican style with a hint of basil and chile, which was my wife's favorite. For those of you tired of the all-inclusive meals, come on down the road and enjoy this gem.

Juan Robinson was fantastic! The food was fantastic, portions are not to large, delicious. Real pros! Don’t miss this meal and we sat on the deck watching the waves crash on the beach. Ask to have Juan as your waiter, never met such a gem, he’s the best.

Tried this place based off of reviews on here and wasn’t disappointed. Food took a while but the presentation of the place is beautiful. Very good value for the prices. They allowed me to exchange shrimp on my item for muscles. The pasta plates have a ton of seafood in them.

This was the best food we had in Puerto Plata. The chef prepared the most delicious snapper and lobster we have had. Truly 5 star quality. On top of that, the view of the ocean from the private rooftop dining room was stunning. Juan, our server was friendly, attentive and helpful.

Wow, I don't know where to begin. I guess let's start with the food. I was with a table of 7 and each person got something different. It was all incredible, but the ones that really stood out were the Shrimp Mofongo and the Curry Shrimp. Our cocktails were delicious and strong! Our waiter, Juan Rivera, was very welcoming and handled our needy American selves with grace!!! They closed the windows and turned on the AC for us. Try the desserts!

We came here twice. The first time we received 5 star service and food for dinner. The second time we received 3 star food and 1 star service for lunch. The rating represents the average of the two experiences, rounded down because IMO consistency is important too. The setting was great, rooftop overlooking the sea -- 5 stars. For lunch we ordered three seafood paella like we did before. What we received was completely different. Cooked differently and lacking half the ingredients as before. We asked the waitress, who spoke to the manager and informed us they'd take it off the bill. When the bill came, they took a 35% discount instead. I actually think 35% off is ok, but I don't appreciate being lied to. We also ordered two rounds of iced coffee. They were made by the same waitress, but came completely different. The second round of coffee was completely white. We asked why coffee was white, and the waitress said don't worry I'll just bring some coffee to make it stronger. Came bill time, she tried to charge us for the "extra cup" of coffee. When we asked for some ice, it took the waitress 10 minutes. Note we were 1 of 2 tables for our entire meal, so she wasn't too busy. 3 star service at best. After we complained about the seafood paella looking different the waitress attitude worsened noticeably, near the end I was afraid if we ordered any more food we'd get some unexpected ingredients if you know what I mean.
