****Alert**** This is definitely a beautiful place to visit and appreciate the scenic view of Puerto Plata. HOWEVER....watch out for the tourist trappers.....Remember this name. Nelson B. We were approached by this slick vendor (Nelson B) who took it upon himself to take our pictures. He is deceiving. He will tell you his store is approved by the government and your tour guide, as he tricks you into entering it. DO NOT FALL for it. He's pushy and his stuff is extremely over priced. You can get all this in the old city much cheaper. Don't forget the name Nelson B. The fraudster. All the pictures he took were overexposed and a waste.

Outstanding mountaintop park to visit. Beautiful scenery. The statue is amazing. I took a bus up but it's not an easy trip on the incredibly awful roads. The negative is the large group of aggressive and obnoxious trinket salespeople who will berate you incessantly if you let them. Be forceful and clear to them if you want to be left alone.

Amazing views and the landscaping in the park are very beautiful and well taken care of. Very glad we went on this excursion from the ship.

Not for the faint hearted ;) My wife had a terrible ride, but she survived. The last few hundred meters is almost a vertical climb. Don't do it if you have a fear of hights. The park at the top is quite beautiful, with several species of flowers. Quite a spectacular view of Puerto Plata and the surroundings.

One of the nos beautiful places in DR. Is not just the views. The gardens and open spaces are breathtaking. People is nice, though they all want to sell you something. Never pay what they ask. Negotiate at least a 40% discount or go to another store. The cable car ride is about 250 DOP per adult and 150 DOP per kid 10 and under.

Beautiful! Wear a hat and / or sun screen and bring water. The guys in tan shirts will take awesome posed pictures of you with the statue and won't take payment (they will ask if you want to buy something from their store, you should negotiate). Great short day trip!

Loved the excursion booked through Norwegian Cruise line. Until we visited the gift shop of the gentleman offering to take pictures for free… he asked you to put things in a basket , he will make you a great deal… ends up very very expensive and then the charges later go up when they appear on your card , significantly! Beware!!

We ride the cable car up to the peak and enjoyed some shopping and hiking on the mountain. There were some really unique flowers and lots of trails to explore.

It's part of the National Park, clean and well kept. Historic site from the King of Spain forward, being a fort to a prison to a lovely natioonal park w the Christ Redeemer statue. Plus a resturant and quick food carts

Cable car and hiking are great. For older people - easy walking trails at top but steep. Can get a tram around d - I did not try it.

Nice ride up to the hill top but slow. Beautiful view of the city from the hill top. Nothing else on the hill top to attract tourist, besides the "mini" Christ The Redeemer (replica) and beautiful tropical flowers & plants.

A beautiful ride up and down the mountain. I highly recommend it. And for only $10 with the statue and garden at the top, very worthwhile. Apr14.2019

Took the cable car ride up the mountain rain. The park at the summit is quite nice and extensive. It's recommended that you take 2+ hours to see everything. There are washroom facilities and a restaurant.

Great view over Puerto plata and the North coast. Go early or on a day when there’s no clouds so you can enjoy it. The park on top with different flowers, a small cave and lagoon, a lot of stairs so not for disabled or elderly.

If you want to visit make sure that it's a clear day...

Beautiful place. Lots of stairs and up and downs on the paths. If you have trouble with stairs this may not be a good walk for you

This places is amaizing to visit and spend a beautiful day there with your family. The weather is great at the top of the mountain and the foggy making you feel in heaven.
