👍👍 My husband and I disembarked in Puerto Vallarta. We got a taxi from the port and headed to the Malecón. We walked and ended up in the “Zona Romántica” We were looking for a dinner spot with good mariscos and close to the water. This is where we came across Jimmy. He shared the menu with us. The rest... My husband and I disembarked in Puerto Vallarta. We got a taxi from the port and headed to the Malecón. We walked and ended up in the “Zona Romántica” We were looking for a dinner spot with good mariscos and close to the water. This is where we came across Jimmy. He shared the menu with us. The restaurant isn’t visible from the malecón. To access it, you have to walk down towards the beach. I told him I wanted to see it first before deciding. I’ll be honest, upon looking at it, I wasn’t too impressed since I was comparing it to the other elaborate restaurants. This was a very unembellished and simple restaurant. But decided to give it a try since the view was great. It was later explained to us that the reason they keep it plain is because of past hurricane damage and potential future hurricanes. The restaurant sits towards the top of the beach and there is also seating at the bottom, on the beach. We ordered beer, which were nice and cold and the aguachiles were one of the best I’ve had! Jimmy our server deserves 5 stars for his outstanding customer service and attentiveness. Thank you Jimmy for making our experience in Puerto Vallarta one of the best we’ve had!

Got sucked into trying this place, was not good. Ordered the steak and lobster and it was terrible, the steak was like eating shoe leather, tough and tasteless more fat than steak. The lobster wasn’t cooked properly and was basically raw. Brought to the attention of the waiter and he said “no problem we will have the meal discounted.” When he brought the bill, no discount was applied, he responds that the owner is a mean person and will not discount the meal. On top of all this he then informs me not only am I not getting a discount but in fact they are charging me 3% more as I would like to use my credit card to pay. Food and service is terrible and more expensive than other restaurants in that area. I do not recommend . Brutal!

I rarely write negative reviews but tonight will likely be my last visit to this restaurant. My first visit I ordered a Fajita and was brought a burrito. I said nothing and enjoyed the meal. I ordered flan and said "no fruit or chocolate....just plain flan"....I was brought flan with chocolate and fruit all over it. My second meal I brought 7 friends and the drinks came 40 minutes after we sat down...ordered chips and salsa and when the meal finally came I asked about the chips and was told "oh, there is a problem"....that was the explanation. I felt bad that I recommended this restaurant and everyone was giving it a thumbs down. Tonight my wife and I thought we'd give it one more shot and ordered drinks and food and after 30 minutes we got up and left when we noticed everyone around us was getting food and drinks and we got ignored. It took us less than five minutes to walk down the malecon to another restaurant where we were promptly seated, waited on and received our meal. There are too many choices in Puerto Vallarta, where we have lived for seventeen years, to put up with bad service. The waiters seem to be clueless.

We were a little bit pressured to dine here however we weren’t disappointed. The seafood was amazing. We had the shrimp and octopus appetizer with the butter fish fillet entree. It came with rice, salad, bread and veggies all of which were delicious and super filling. There is a ton of outdoor seating with a good view of the Pacific.

Server was friendly but they were out of oysters yet was approached by 2 people walking on the beach for fresh oysters. We only ordered one dish, lobster with butter and garlic. Could not taste the garic, the lobster was small and the claws were removed. First time ive ever been served a lobster without the claws. It is not advertised as lobster tail and yet thats the only part. Its a very spiky breed of lobster so not worth the effort trying to cut yoyr hands open for 1oz more of meat. The rice was cold, and the bread served with was chewy. Everything had a nice flavor and yet the lobster was also chewy. Left disappointed. The waiter was also disappointed and offered more meat but at this point didnt want to wait another 45 mins for more. Oh Yeah, it took 45 minutes to get 1 lobster. By the time we had ordered, another couple sat down, got their drinks, and their food. Wont come back cuz why bother there are more places to try.

Amazing place to stop for a drink or dinner. Everything is fresh and prepared to order. Front the front this place looks like a little dive bar, but you walk to the back and you're right on the beach. Amazing views and staff.

Stuffed pineapple with shrimp had a very spicy sauce instead of the expected Sweet and sour sauce. Couldn't finish my meal because it was too spicy. Don't recommend it, worst meal I've had in the three weeks in PV. Was also served packaged tostados and satlines as the pre-meal appetizer, like what you would buy at Oxxo. Also didn't have half the beer selection that was on the menu - no corona, no XX.

You have to enter through a store from the sidewalk if you are not on the beach to get here but it is so worth it. Amazing sunset views! This is truly a hidden gem that is not to be missed. If it's not Sunday, ask for Cristoboll! He is an amazing waiter and a wealth of knowledge if you are looking for recommendations or information about things to do inside and outside the city. Order the bacon wrapped shrimp and you will be in love! Also try the stuffed pineapple! The food and drinks are great and not overpriced! They make great sangrias if you are looking for a good sangria! We ate here three times because it's that awesome! Enjoy the sunset!

We had an awesome experience at Puesta del Sol! Jonathan was so kind and helpful. The strawberry mojito is delicious with fresh strawberries. We will be back! And the price was right.

We were ushered in by a waiter, but this waiter seemed nice and wasn’t aggressive and pressuring us, like all the other losers with no sales skill. So we decided to take a look. The menus were very old and falling apart. Even the masking tape used to mend them was coming off. It was unusual because everything else in the restaurant was in good shape. He sat us down and we ordered drinks. The prices were reasonable, and the food seemed like good prices, so we ordered drinks and food. The atmosphere was very good and we really enjoyed ourselves. Food was too notch. We wanted to stay longer and order more food but we were full and it was getting late. The assorted shrimp platter looked like a good deal. 20 shrimp cooked 4 ways for 390 pesos. We told the waiter we would be back, and left very satisfied. We returned the next day, eager to try the shrimp and I expected to visit this establishment every single day because there was nothing I could complain about other than the annoying losers accosting me to buy their garbage every 30 seconds. So we probably would have spent 700-1000 pesos per day for the next 11 days, or about 10,000 pesos. But we were shocked to see new menus. We opened it up and immediately looked at the shrimp and my jaw dropped. The price wasn’t 390 pesos. It was 545 pesos! A 40% increase in one day!! Most of the food was jacked WAY up compared to the day before. I asked the waiter about the menus and he claimed that starting today (dec. 15) was high season but I think Xmas is very slow season. I had already ordered my drink, so we decided to just slam the drink and move along. I think the old menu was an outdated one they use to bait in customers, then switch it to the current menu.. it’s really too bad. If their prices weren’t jacked up 40%, I’d think they would have a PACKED restaurant, and get very good tips too. If it weren’t for the feeling of being taken advantage of, I would have given this restaurant a 5/5.

I've been coming to Puerto Vallarta for over 25 years, and this was hands-down, one of the best meals I've ever had!!! Coconut shrimp, Veracruz mahi-mahi, and Shrimp Hibiscus, all mouthwatering delicious. Incredibly friendly and professional server, cannot wait to return. ♥️

Horrible timing …. Food was fine once it showed up. Location is nice - but worth it? We can’t come back.
