The hotel is dated and the fence around the pool are the only two slight drawbacks I can think of. The staff were GREAT, all very friendly, eager to help. All very Covid aware. Location is perfect!!!, at the very beginning of the Malecon ..i would definitely stay here again. …and the buffet was as good as it gets for me…omelettes, tostadas, lots of fruit & yogurt, bread, beans and much more and very reasonably priced..again, all the staff we interacted with were terrific !!!!

Check in was bad. The staff member stopped checking us in part way through to talk on the phone in a bored manner. The man who showed us to the room kept forgetting what number it was and where it was. Later at the desk we asked for a hairdryer, a kettle and two additional pillows. We were told they have only one hairdryer in the hotel and another room had it. I wasn't sure she was serious and suggested they buy another one, to which the receptionist said yes and shrugged in an offhand manner. The pillows and kettle didn't come. Sleeping was bad. The room was very cramped. The bed was uncomfortable with a cheap hard mattress. There was a lot of outdoor noise. The room was decorated like a prison. The lighting is harsh and blue white. There is no bedside light. The towels were old and threadbare. The curtains were stained. It hadn't been cleaned thoroughly; there were urine stains on the toilet and dust and hairs by the bed. The floor was gritty. I felt like staying here was a punishment. Breakfast should have been from 730. At 8 we were told they weren't ready by an incredibly grumpy staff member. I wasn't allowed to have an orange juice and was ordered to sit down. The staff spent the next 25 minutes laughing and gossiping at the bar. There was a loud noise from an industrial balloon inflation pump throughout the breakfast period. The hotel is generally dilapidated. The paintwork is stained and scuffed. There are multiple bodged plaster repairs. It isn't particularly clean, with dust and grit at the edges of floors. They use the word historic in advertising, it is actually just old and run down. We booked an alternative hotel and left early with no refund. There are a lot of positive reviews for this hotel, which is very mysterious. I am not sure who would honestly give this a positive review. This is a low quality product with indifferent to rude service. It's not even that cheap.

Location is great for walking but can also be a negative because it is noisy until early am hours. The walls in the rooms must be paper thin because I could hear everything going on in the street and I had an ocean view room. The "complimentary breakfast" is an absolute joke. The food at the restaurant was good.

Dated rooms. Water pressure in the shower is a joke. Not business friendly. Breakfast is literally 4 slices of honeydew (gross) and bread that is in no way fresh. Served with plastic packaged jelly. You don’t get “breakfast” for the day you check out. They ask you to wear a bracelet your entire stay. A day-glow yellow bracelet that makes you an obvious target for scammers and anybody else who would take advantage of a tourist.

Rooms are very clean. Buffet breakfast was good at a good price $300 pesos per person $18 usd. They had from eggs, pancake, cereal, granola, juices, fresh made tortillas, menudo, birria, chilaquiles. The pool area very clean and children friendly.

This is hands down the absolute best hotel in Puerta Vallarta. Just make sure you leave us a spot. I mean the staff is the absolute best. The location cannot be beat. The rooms on the ocean have the best views around. I could go on and on about Hotel Rosita, but I should probably go book my next stay.

Hotel Rosita, don't you ever change a thing! I loved staying here and will stay here again! The rooms aren't fancy, but they are clean, nice, comfortable, and there are affordable oceanfront rooms with phenomenal views. The location is perfect, with everything you want right outside your door. The Beach, restaurants, bars, shopping, just steps away. The beachside bar and restaurant on the ground floor is perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you want a swanky, fancy, overpriced hotel, this is not it. There are plenty of those to choose from in PV. Hotel Rosita is absolutely perfect the way it is, and offers luxury views, unbeatable location, and a clean comfortable place to stay at affordable prices. I hope it never, ever changes! I adore you, Hotel Rosita, and I hope to visit you again soon!

We stayed here for three nights at the tail end of a two week holiday at multiple locations. The Good: You can't beat this location. Great access to the Malecon Restaurants, and beach. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the pool was an awesome place to chill. The Bad: The rooms need some serious updating. The beds, bedding, and pillows are next level uncomfortable and I have no problem sleeping on the ground when I go camping. Our room wasn't close to the street so we didn't hear all the action at night however anybody talking our moving laugage in the hallway sounded like they were in our room. All in all we somewhat enjoyed our stay. Changes to the beds would likely see us return.

Its a beautiful old historic building but the room need to be updated. Beds are bad, pillows are thin. No hair dryer, no iron, had to ask and they gave us 25min to use and had to bring it down. A/C air did not work properly. It work if u turn on or turn off. Couldn't adjust it. Only good thing about this hotel. Its at the beginning of Malecon and easy access to beach.

We stayed 5 nights at Hotel Rosita and found the staff professional, helpful, and every guest required to wear a color wristband. Yes, they carefully check the wristbands and make sure who allowed in for our safety. That's business, not an insult to me, and appreciate the importance to control access. Thank you!

Located in prime location. You can enjoy the ocean from hotel premises. Only thing we are not satisfied is the room. We do not think room is safe enough to stay. TV is tilted on the wall looks like it might fall. Floor is broken on few places. Towel hanger is broken. Toilet and shower are congested. Breakfast area is great. You can enjoy the ocean while having meals. Staff are good except during check out when we are out to get a Taxi to airport she asked me about the remotes for TV and AC. I told her those are in the room. She asked me to get those down. How surprise and unprofessional. I never heard in my life to deposit remotes at checkout.

Excellent hotel at ground zero to the malecon. Well maintained building, constant painting, pool refreshed, grounds clean, didn't see any ants or creepy-crawly as we did in other hotels. Professional staff, onsite restaurant and bar, appreciated limited access to hotel guess only, big bonus (and huge thank you from wife!) as lots of sketchy individuals nearby streets. Alex the security lead always on watch and handled all situations promptly. Ceci at check-in was friendly and informative regarding hotel amenities. Followed Covid-19 protocols. Two thumbs up!

The best hotel to stay at for comfort at a good price. The views are great, I stay here every time I come to Puerto Vallarta. It’s nothing fancy but the Location and free breakfast is worth making you say yes. This place is not for picky people but rather those who are only looking to just sleep at the hotel and don’t mind the minor blend of strong ocean + light city sounds. There air conditioning is really good. It’s also located right where the boardwalk starts along the beach. We love hotel Rosita!

My friend and I were staying in an apartment in PV. When we relocated to Hotel Rosita, we were super thrilled. Our room had 2 very clean beds, tv and desk. We especially enjoyed the view, pool, and restaurant. This is an iconic hotel definitely worth visiting…

I booked a large, two bedroom, ocean view suite on my own for over a week in 2018. I brought a friend back to my suite to watch the ocean and relax for a few hours. The desk staff was questioning me and arguing that I wasn't allowed to have any guests, which was not in the booking agreement. They were acting like I was conducting criminal activity out of my suite. I protested and stood my ground and they backed down, but it was a very unpleasant scene. It was offensive and completely unacceptable. I've never experienced that in any hotel in any country throughout all of my travels. As a solo traveler (especially as a female), I expect to be protected and respected, not attacked, policed, or put random restrictions upon. I put in a complaint to management and the next day a manager spoke with me and eventually apologized, but it was a very uncomfortable, unsatisfying conversation where I felt like he never got the point. I didn't extend my booking after that and instead left and stayed at an airbnb for the next month, which was lovely. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Five star locations. From my understanding it's the oldest hotel in Puerto Vallarta. They have done great upkeep. It's clean and the staff is friendly.

this place is not for the average tourist. I believe it is more for locals. I did not feel welcome here at all. It is run very run s down so don't expect much. There is no real bar to speak of but the little booth they do serve out of(when they feel like it) will only take cash. If you want a cheap place to sleep with a decent location and want to eat an d drink somewhere else then I would not pay over $50 I stayed end of October and there is much nicer places for less money just as nicely located.

Location was perfect. Right off the Malacon, the center of all things happening. Service was hit and miss. Our room had 4 people staying in it, and was never set up for 4 people. We were always asking for more towels and toilet paper. Wifi was garbage and barely worked. Asked the front desk 3 separate times for extra pillows which we never received in our 9 day stay. Don't be fooled by the "free included breakfast"....it was only some fresh fruit and toast and an orange juice. Nothing else included. DO NOT expect an American style breakfast with eggs and pancakes included in the free breakfast. Everything was clean. Pool areas were nice but small. Views are beautiful. But the only real plus this place offered was location. It was an OK place to stay. I would look closer at other options first if I were to come back to PV again.

Location is good, near the Malecon and directly on the ocean. Everything is close by. Many families and children made it less appealing sometimes the pool was impossible to use because of children playing and yelling. If you like noise, this is the place to stay!

We loved this hotel. Our room was not fancy but it was large and clean. We had a "partial ocean view" room but we could see the south 1/2 of the bay as well as the Malecón from our large balcony. The staff was great! The hotel was next to the beach on the border between 5 de diciembre and el centro. We were there Easter week and there were a lot of families there. It's not an especially quiet hotel as you can hear some of the clubs on the Malecón at night but the AC works fine and if you close the balcony door it reduces the noise dramatically. We loved the neighborhood. There were a lot of restaurant choices in a variety of price ranges. We were a block from Parque Hidalgo where they had a taco festival one day. The north end of the Malecón is just outside the front door. We will definitely be back!

We stayed here for a few days and I wish I had stayed longer. Excellent location and staff was lovely. Don’t forget to tip your maid. Beautiful views and ambiance.

Great location & value. Simple clean room. Booked 2 nights here and had a great stay. The location is unbeatable, right on the Malecon boardwalk and next to the beach. There is a nice courtyard area on the first floor, with a restaurant and pool. The beach near the hotel is average, relatively small and urban. The room is simple, with tile floors everywhere and a narrow balcony. For the price it is within expectations. We had no complaints. Overall for the price this place is hard to beat. Look forward to coming back in the future

Wonderful hotel. The location was perfect. It was very historic and kept up so well. Lots of character, the staff was extremely helpful, especially Mica. We spent a week there and will definitely be back.

This was a 3 star hotel but the charm of the rustic architecture made you feel like you’re IN Mexico. Of course we are but so many renovated places Rob you of basking in the experience of other culture abs customs. Here you feel in Mexico while enjoying all the modern amenities. It also has an in-house restaurant and bar with 2 for 1 drinks 2 times a day. It is also reasonably priced. It’s not the best good in the world but they were able to accommodate my vegetarian friends and no one left hungry. Comfortable, quaint with oceanside pool and restaurant in walking distance to all. I recommend it for anyone looking for affordable family comfort with fin for all.

A friend and I ordered a fruit plate in their restaurant, which is totally open air, like every restaurant here. 😊 The pool is right there and it all looks out at the bay, and gets the breeze. A lovely spot!

Nice stop at the end of the Malecon. Clean and several bathrooms. A beer and nachos will take you a long way.

Nestled near the ocean & a beach promenade. A great variety of dining & shopping options are within walking distance. Hard to beat in terms of location. Mom & I were only there for two days but the staff was always very friendly. The only thing that could've been better in my opinion was the courtesy breakfast. Maybe add at least a pancake or a scrambled egg. :) But there's always other options outside the hotel. If you're concerned about noise level, you may not want to stay Friday or Saturday as the property is very close to the beach & a lot of shopping. But a great, inexpensive option for everyone.

We were really impressed by the quaint hotel. First, they're right at the end of the boardwalk, but not too close so that one can sleep at night. Second, they're staff is so nice, professional, and for people who lack a command of the Spanish language, they all speak English. They'll bend over backward to satisfy you, in our case building a couple of ramps for my wife to get out to the deck of our room. There's also always someone at the front desk, so if something comes up in the middle of the night, they're they're to help. Third, there are a ton of good and great restaurants close to the hotel, along with grocery stores, shopping opportunities, parks, and other places to see. The Romantic District and the island are not too far either, making for more shopping and eating opportunities. Fourth, this place feels much less touristy, along with the area around it, so if you're looking for a place that's in the middle of things, but also feels a bit like Mexico, this is the place to be!

Arrived and front desk person was awful. Reservation for 13 nights only stayed for one, because we could not get our money back and it was late. Mold on ceiling in room. Our reservation included breakfast for 2 guests as expedia perk. Same rude person had not given us the voucher and then said we would only receive one free breakfast, by this time i was not spending another dollar there. The location is a good thing, but not worth it. We went to Costa Sur and everything was amazing.

We spent 2 nights between rentals. It's a great location right on the Malecon, steps to many restaurants. Breakfast has lots of choices, we didn't try lunch or dinner. Fri am there is a Tai Chi class held just outside the hotel next to the ocean. The pool is cool, but inviting. Staff were eager to help and pleasant, but sometimes forgetful, probably due to high work volume.

Three star hotel sounds about right. Just like everyone else said, great price and the location is super convenient, but that's where it ends. The suite was adjacent to the actual hotel so we didn't have the convenience being within the hotel itself. The suite was not clean, the water heater was not on and much of the furnishings were dilapidated. Not bad of a stay if you're on a budget, but if you gave money to spend, why not get a taste elsewhere.
