This gym has a great location. It's very spacious and the equipment is nice. But it probably has a 95% male clientele so they feel very entitled to the equipment. Probably every other day, a man asks me if I can use the machine or bench I'm using. Even a trainer asked me once, even though it was clear I was using the bench. It almost makes me want to go back to the old gym, even though all the machines are rusted and old. If you're a woman, don't back down. Otherwise, it'll just feed their entitlement. I definitely won't miss this gym when I leave PV in a couple of months.

Big Apple is large and spacious and no A/C is not a big problem (you're supposed to sweat at the gym, right?). Some members do think they are entitled and have to use 2 - 3 machines at once and some think they can spread out their belongings as much as they want without consideration of others. I will point it out to them if it is an area or machine I wish to use. On a positive note, the front desk ladies are VERY polite and attentive.

Interesting and well-maintained gym with no AC. During my travels to Mexico I decided to head to this gym because it was close to where I was staying in Centro, pretty much after I was walking around exploring I heard about it since I like to workout when I travel. The gym was interesting, because one of the receptionists was nice and the other didn't say much but it was probably because she wasn't to well-versed in English, idk. Either way, it wasn't for her to speak my language but for me to speak her language since I was in their country and it's respectful anyways but I was rusty so I just nodded and smiled and said the general hello and goodbye. I genuinely kept to myself and got a week pass, but there were plenty of people in there whenever I went. No one approached me or anything, (including the trainers there at the time), though several people, observed me every day that I went to the gym. 🤣🤣 When I was on the beach, a Mexican couple told me that there's usually not a lot of Black people around so some people may just look but it's not really a bad thing if they do. It's just not too common in the area. I just laughed. Mmmm okay. 🤣 Anyways.. The gym had lots of equipment and a nice training ring, clean bathrooms, and was always kept clean all around. The prices were very accommodating. The area is quite spacious so you have enough room to try all kinds of things. Just for the record there was no AC when I went there at the time and I stayed my happy butt right near the fans and purchased a couple bottles of water to help me because when I sweat, I sweat. Overall, I am giving this one a 4/5. The only drawback for you may be that it has no steady AC but other than that it's nice, clean, with friendly receptionists, and located in a bustling and fun area. Enjoy and go get fit.

Small gym that gets very crowded but nice staff, well maintained equipment. Attracts a hardcore gym crowd so great people watching. The protein shakes are great too!

Had a great time at the Big Apple Gym. Was not expecting much given it being a tourist location and most of mexican fitness is not very well funded/promoted. I was pleasantly surprised with numerous life fitness and hammer strength machines, countless cardio pieces, and even a boxing ring. The sled drag was also an expensive machine piece. Very cool. Being a powerlifter, I would love to have seen some solid power barbells - but overall a clean, affordable, and great experience.

Coming from America, great change in pace. No frills gym. Has all equipment you could need, hot and sweaty open air gym with great amenities. Can't beat the affordable food at the walk up bar.

Big gym. Affordable. Nice staff. Best to go early before it gets hot out since there is no AC. Lots of fans though. A few negatives: no water fountain so buy water, or if you bring it you have to fill up in bathroom sink. Also the equipment is getting a little shabby and although they clean the place they don't spend much on maintenance. Missing knobs on equipment and frayed handles, for example. The free weight area is small but adequate except when it's real busy. Finally it doesn't seem like they ever organize the weights. People just put them anywhere and it's hunt and peck to find the weights you need. At least once a week could they organize it? Minor things. Overall it stacks up well against other gyms and is a good value, especially with the variety of equipment.

Horrible gym at the Zona Romantica location. If you like being passively I aggressively accosted while power snatching by the cleaning staff, this gym is for you. Cleaner harassed me on four separate occasions, different days, while the gym was open and other people were on the floor and when I asked staff to intervene they let me know that she *won’t* stop cleaning and she *will* interrupt my training. I wasn’t trying to stop here but she was trying to get me to stop training while I was mid-WOD. I was told that she won’t stop and to contact the management who has done nothing except ignore me. Very unprofessional, unsafe and disrespectful and they can’t even control their own staff. If you’re looking for a real CrossFit gym, go elsewhere. Avoid the gym. The management is horrible.

Very clean and simple (but also big) gym in center of Zona Romantica with small prices for tourists. (Have a two week pass for 500$mxn)

Nice gym in the romantic zone. I usually get a one or two week membership while visiting PV. All the equipment is high quality and well maintained. It does get a bit crowded sometimes. Good value at $500 pesos for a 2-week membership.

Great selection of equipment, always plenty of space. There are plenty of fans, though no AC, but hey it’s a gym you’re here to break a sweat. The staff are friendly and helpful

Great gym while on vacation. Reasonably priced depending on your needs and length of stay. It does get warm but there are plenty of fans on to cool you down.

We are here, in Puerto Vallarta, for two months and its been awesome having a routine. Gyms don't generally offer monthly or weekly plans (Not good business sense, in my opinion!) so, we were thrilled to have the affordable option. With the membership, they offer CrossFit Mon-Sat and spin classes at various times. Free lockers are a bonus! Great showers, facility is very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Join! work off those excess tacos!

Overall really good gym. Bodybuilding gym with mostly Hammer strength & life fitness…all pretty new. However only 1 bench (that is adjustable) for the whole gym. That’s crazy. They should have at least 5+ flat benches & adjustable. Also some equipment needs some light maintenace like lat pull down so runs smoothly. However seems to be the best gym in the area. Biggest and best equipment. Also I feel the mens urinals should have dividers for privacy especially as this is a mostly gay gym. Which is great but privacy while going to bathroom is needed.

Large facility that gets crowded. Friendly staff work here. Needs some more benches and benches that accommodate short bars. Good showers. Over all nice place. It has marble floors which I have never seen in a gym before.

Although they could use a little bit more holding customers accountable for not putting equipment back or at least have someone going around and picking it up a little bit more it's very clean and the staff is amazing it's also reasonably priced at 650 pesos a month which is much cheaper than the gym just around the corner

Really good! Has all the machines you need + lot of cardio ones too, an area for crossfit and a free weight lifting area! Changing rooms are really nice and they give you a lock! It was crowded when I was there but still could do everything I needed! Staff is wonderful too, very personal and they remember your name and ask for feedback. Day pass is 150, week is 300, 2 weeks is 450. Really reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

I love this gym! The price is reasonable, the space is big and all the machines and weights are nice and new. I’ve been doing CrossFit 3-4x per week and I love it. The coach is awesome and I am already feeling stronger after my first month. The only downside about the gym is that they don’t have AC yet so it gets warm in the afternoon. I like to sweat so I don’t mind! If you’re in PV, I recommend you check out Big Apple!

Love this gym! Everyone's serious about their training, humid (I like it as it makes you sweat), and most importantly, great equipment. Its gonna be my go to gym when I visit PV!

Clean, cleanser everywhere to use on the equipment. Good variety in the equipment they have, cardio and weights, cross fit and spin classes, no AC, but plenty of fans and once the rainy season is over it'll be more than enough.

Clean, well equipped, good price, not too busy, staff is super friendly and speaks good though English. No air conditioning so it's best to come first thing in the morning when it's still a bit cool.

Really great place to workout if you are in PV for a week or several months. Like how the ceiling is really high making it feel more spacious. It’s a much better deal if you get the passes for a week or month versus the daily drop in rate. 💪🏽

Good size and a lot of equipment but many times smaller and a lot less equipment then what I’m used to where I live. People often use two pieces of equipment at the same time when you go to use something they’ll come up and say they’re using it even though there’s somewhere else. Took me some time to get used to the heat they don’t have air-conditioning. The employees are very nice and helpful including the trainers. Will come ask you if you need help. right near all the bars in the downtown area I would go back to this club and also recommend it.
