First a disclaimer. We are self-confessed coffee snobs and were looking for a decent coffee place while in Puerto Vallarta. We didn't have a good coffee since leaving shores of Australia and could not find anything good in the States. So we thought we could try our luck in the country that is one of the biggest coffee producer in the world. No luck... Until we discovered this place. We had the best coffee in North America and purchased some to take home with us. We still cherish those personally stamped paper bags. Can't wait to go there again. I hope the owner stays in good health as we would love to see him again and have a nice coffee and a chat.

Coffee lovers, please do yourself a favor and come here for the best coffee you’ll have in Puerto Vallarta. My biggest regret is not discovering this gem sooner. Cafe Oro Verde is definitely worth going out of your way for. The owner is incredibly nice and knowledgeable about coffee and he roasts in-house! In fact, you can see the roaster in the back of the cafe. Despite the pandemic, the drinks are priced very reasonably, especially for the quality of coffee you get! (Ugh, I’m still beating myself up for not discovering this place sooner...otherwise I would’ve visited every day that its open!) The hours might not be updated on Google, but it is currently operating MWF from 10am-1pm. Wenceslao (the owner) and his partner Julie roast the beans fresh every day that they’re open. Oh what a difference it makes in coffee! I ordered a large latte with almond milk (40 pesos total! Yes please!!) It was so delicious. It was made with the medium roast which I really enjoyed. It has smooth chocolatey notes. During normal times, I think you can sit inside this small cafe and enjoy your coffee as you watch people walk by. It looks like a great spot for people watching haha. I got ÂŒ kilo of light coffee beans and a ÂŒ kilo of medium coffee beans (which is about a pound total) for 125 pesos. Again, extremely reasonable prices for freshly roasted coffee beans. I can’t wait to come back and visit again--next time with friends and family. If it’s any local business to support, it’s this one! Truly, Cafe Oro Verde is not a place you want to miss out on. I highly recommend going out of your way to grab a cup of coffee and chat with Wenceslao if you get the chance. My heart is so full!

This is my favorite place for coffee and beans in Puerto Vallarta. Wenceslas has been a fixture in the PV coffee scene for ages and is a great roaster and super nice guy. Small out of the way location definitely worth a visit.

Great espresso!! I had a great conversation with the owner, he has travelled a lot and is just a nice person to chat with. They roast their own coffee beans which is cool too!!

The coffee is fantastic. People I refer end up taking home 3-5 kilos sometimes. At a little over $5usd a pound, how can you not? Many consider it superior to the Mary coffee from San Sebastian. I like its lack of alkalinity personally. The owner Wenses and his partner Julie are nice to chat with as well. I believe that Wenses apprenticed under the founder of the famous high end coffee chain Torrefazione Italia (before Starbucks bought and closed them.) Little known coffee fact, the darker a coffee is roasted, the more caffeine is burned off. Fun experiment: buy the light and medium roast and you don't just taste the difference, you feel it! They are open M-F 9-3pm. Enjoy!

My iced latte was delicious & my friend was extremely happy with her iced mocha. We also bought 1kg of beans each—to bring home as souvenirs. Thank you, Wenceslou & Julie, for being the best part of our day in 5 de Diciembre!

I got some fresh ground coffee today! 1st time to this place. The smell of the fresh roasted coffee just draws you in and the lovely man packaging the coffee (who is great to chat with) keeps you there with his fun conversation. Great Coffee! Thanks so much

Everyone must visit!!! This is our favourite place for coffee in Puerta Vallarta. We stumbled across this coffee shop by accident. Small shop with a few tables to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. Also, coffee to-go is an option. The coffee is out of this world and they roast their own coffee beans too! The owner Wenceslas and his wife Julie are wonderful, friendly and inviting people. Wenceslas speaks a variety of different languages. He knows his stuff. He was very kind to us while we were down in PVR. We found ourselves going back almost every morning for coffee and for the company. We highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting PVR or anyone living in the area. Great coffee. Amazing company :)

My favorite roaster and cafe in PV. Just good coffee and conversation with great people! Don't miss this place. Wen and Julie are awesome and you just can't beat local beans roasted locally. I miss my regular visits to PV and Cafe Oro Verde!

The BEST coffee in my world! My husband and I went there on a recommendation, almost 15 to 20 years ago. Because I cannot have too much caffeine, I purchased the dark roast at the owner's recommendation, and love it intensely. My husband and I used to go to Puerto Vallarta twice a year for many years, only stopping when we moved into a retirement community and could not travel anymore. God bless them for the wonderful coffee beans that they roast!

Wen and Julie were so great to talk to! The coffee is wonderful! Not a lot of space but that’s what makes the place so relaxed, the slow pace is perfect for a calm cup of coffee.

Beautifully smooth espresso for my cappuccino. Rich taste and flavor and an amazingly courteous, informative staff. It’s enlightening to see the beans are sourced nearby and roasted on location. Definitely don’t waste your time at your resorts Starbucks or more pristine shops with bug brand roaster names. If you’re here earlier in the morning have smaller bills to help them out

Great coffee in a modest setting. Seating is limited but the cortados are delicious. Gentleman who runs the place is pleasant.

Excellent coffee. Very friendly service (Wen and Juli). They always remember my name and what I usually order. Wenceslao, the owner is a master roaster and uses local beans from the nearby mountains. It's small but perfect for excellent coffee.
