This place is a disaster. Drinks took 43 min. Food took over an 1hr. There was more than 15 min between dishes. 2nd round of drinks took over an hour. Waiters are totally confused. O idea what’s on the menu. We got other peoples food. Didn’t get our food. Never have I experienced such craziness. Basically the kitchen is too small for the number of tables…

A MUST TRY in PV!! All of the drinks are to die for especially the lemonades. The food is perfectly cooked, has so much flavour, it’s always fresh and they have some unique dishes to try something new. The portions are on the smaller side so I’d recommend ordering a starter & a main or share the tapas! The service is good & quite fast. Inside the restaurant is also done very nice.

Great service and great food! Highly recommend stopping by! The cauliflower popcorn was really tasty! As we’re the schezhuan dumplings - still thinking of those! We will definitely be coming back! For something fresh the cabbage and chicken salad was it!!

Came in because of my friend's recommendation and had a light dinner there. Once it gets dark and the lights come on, the place becomes truly magical. Food is great, service is great, ambiance beyond expectations. Probably my favourite place in Puerto Vallarta, hoping to be back one day :)

Same great food as the northern location with some slight menu variations, superior ambiance with a lovely outdoors. The other location was half an hour away and was one of my favorites. This one is in my back yard and is even better! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. (Note they had a southern location before but it was shuttered by storm damage and this is a new location in Zona Romántica)

An amazing experience from start to finish. Staff super friendly when you walked in, seated immediately in a beautiful garden! We had two different kinds if dumplings and ramen. Both phenomenal, flavor profile was out of this world.

This place was absolutely fabulous! The green papaya salad, shrimp, and doughnuts (with a side of ice cream) were delicious! The atmosphere is lovely and the staff is attentive!

I loved my first dinner so much I ate here a second time on my recent stay in Puerto Vallarta. And I couldn't be happier that this restaurant is a stone's throw from my new condo. On night one I had a craft cocktail called the Muxe (gin-based) which was light with subtle flavors like lavender, the cabbage kimchi (not a big hit for me, just okay), the pork belly bao was the right ratio of sauce and bun and juicy pork and then the soy-garlic chicken wings which had crsipy skin and great flavor. On the second visit I tried the Bonito cocktail, which I didn't understand when I ordered was a boozy slushy, but enjoyable nonetheless on a hot summer night. I just wouldn't normally order a slushy before dinner. The steamed shrimp dumplings were excellent as well as the octopus. I look forward to returning and sharing this place with friends and famiily.

*UPDATE* - I’m so glad Bonito Kitchen is back after the original location was washed away 6 months ago during Hurricane Nora. The new locations is in the more local artsy neighbourhood right next to the historical tree. It’s only a short walk from Basilio Badillo. Beautiful open courtyard with live jazz every Thursday. The menu has evolved, more Asian fusion and ramen is a daily feature on the menu. The wonton ramen is super loaded and delicious. *Original review* Great addition to the Asian restaurant scene to zona romantica. I've only tried the small plates, and they were all delicious, great authentic flavours and decent portions. Great ambience by the river and a real cosmopolitan cocktail list like negroni and espresso martini. Will definitely return to try the different entrées and their soup noodles. Just didn't have enough stomach space 😋

New Location! Indeed same incredible experience! We tried to find good Asian Fusion all over Mexico City and were disappointed. Came home and went straight to the best which is Bonito Kitchen. Phenomenal. We went with dumplings, pot stickers, never had better Bao Buns anywhere, pork belly, kimchi, and Asian donuts with ice cream! Best food around

Such a cute restaurant! Really tasty food and outstanding and beautiful cocktails. I am half Chinese and from Hawaii, and thought this food was really good and flavorful. The only dish we did not care for and would not recommend is the ahi seared tuna. The consistency did not taste fresh. However, take this with a grain of salt - because I’m from Hawaii, my expectations for raw fish (especially tuna) are extremely high.

I loved Bonito. Went the other night with a larger group and got a spot on their beautiful patio. The cocktails were very unique and enjoyable. The passionfruit lemonade apparently was delicious. All the food was very tasty, especially loved the soft shell bao buns, coconut shrimp and the cauliflower dish. The portions are definitely on the smaller side so something to keep in mind when ordering. We didn't realize at first and had to order a second round of food, which worked fine too. Servers were nice, food was pretty timely and the ambience was a+++.

Surprisingly blown away by this place. Mexican chef with pan Asian fusion cuisine that stays true to authentic flavors but with a slight twist. Faves were the pho dumplings and the Korean short ribs but everything was delicious. Enjoyed the service and cocktails as well.

Wonderful spot. Came here the first day of my vacation, and had to come back for my last to get in another meal! The pho dumplings were the star of my meal each time I went, but all the food was fun and tasty. The back seating area is beautiful in the evening, so make a reservation ahead of time to make sure you get a table there!

Not sure what’s the hype of this place ! I was not very impressed about the food at all. When food taste to salty for me it means no taste. I order several dishes , I started with gyoza, very small and deep friend ? Gyoza are either steamed or pan fried on one side only ! The filling was very salty, couldn’t taste the shrimp or pork ! They serve it with soy sauce? A touch of vinegar would have made a big difference. Second dish fresh rice paper spring rolls , they did not have fresh herbs like mint inside or cucumber or carrots. The deeping sauce was horrible ! Maybe hoisin sauce ? With nuts on top ? It’s so easy to make a peanut sauce !!! A few basic ingredients that make these spring rolls stand out. I then order some Korean style kimchi , which was ok ! Very spicy and a bitter taste . The last dish I order was a ramen soup miso based. With pork belly. The pork was very tender and good. The noodles had a very good texture. The broth was very salty. Again when you add to mouth salt you can’t taste enything but the salt. I was not impressed with the food at all. The place’s very cool and has a nice ambiance. They have an outdoor Patio that looks very nice. The service was ok , the waitresses are very nice and sweet, just very busy . The maracuya lemonade with rosemary was delicious.

My sister-in-law introduced me to this jewel in the P.V. dining scene. The restaurant has friendly, helpful wait staff serving some of the best dishes I’ve had anywhere. When I was back in P.V. in April for my birthday, we went twice including for my birthday dinner!

So I pass this place all the time but don't usually eat other foods besides Mexican when here. But I saw they had baos and I wanted to try. OMG It was so delicious and flavorful!! One of the best meals I've had here in PV. The drink was a delicious change too. They take credit card and all the staff was wonderful. The woman who is the sister of the owner walks around and checks in with each table. Really loved it and sitting outside was nice by the little stream. I should've went sooner! 😋

I try to go to Bonito Kitchen as many times as I can when I'm in PV. Their food is amazing and delicious and I cannot get enough of it. My favourite cocktail there is their lychee martinis. Love the ramen and so many other dishes! Check out the pix I've taken from several visits there! ;-)

Just like it’s sister restaurant in Fluvial, this restaurant is exceptional. A personal favourite of ours and by the reviews, seemingly it is by many others too. This is the best Asian food in Vallarta by a long way. I would highly recommend the bao buns, and the frozen rose cocktail. I would also highly recommend booking a table the day before so you can sit in their Bonita garden and don’t have to wait.

Place has nice environment, service was horrible. Took 20 mins before someone came to ask what we wanted for drinks . Took easy 15 mins before drinks came. When we order food took around 25 mins and where so spaced between the plates . I have to say I liked the food with the exception of the dumplings on the Pho Broth. It’s a place I came once but wouldn’t come back .

We were looking for a nice restaurant for celebrating my husbands birthday in PV. We went here and it was amazing. My husband had the pho michelada and loved it. The lobster dumplings were out of this world. If you want to go make a reservation, we didn’t have one and almost didn’t get a table!!!

I recently visited Bonito Kitchen & Bar and unfortunately, my experience was a mixed one. The food was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options and expertly prepared. The flavors and presentation of the dishes were outstanding and I would highly recommend trying them out. However, the service was not up to par. The servers seemed disorganized and not well coordinated, leading to delays in service and confusion about orders. They also seemed preoccupied and not particularly attentive to the customers. Overall, the food at Bonito Kitchen & Bar is fantastic, but the service was not good and it was a bit of a letdown. I hope that in future visits, the service can be improved so that the overall dining experience can match the quality of the food.

Delicious food, tasty cocktails and excellent service. The potstickers and the Bao buns are the best but everything on the menu is delicious. Bonito is located on the Rio Cuale and has a great dining atmosphere with seating both on the outside terrace and inside. The light filled space along with plants throughout the restaurant creates a comfortable dining experience.

The place is very nice. The food has good taste. But the service HORRIBLE!! We waited over 45 mins to get our food. Drinks were another issue waiting our 15 mins. It felt like we were such a bother. We got our table and we never got utensils or even a glass of water. We had to ask the host for utensils and he had no ideas what they were. After being there over an 1.5 hr someone finally came to ask if we wanted water. The owner finally realized that we had waited so long for everything that she decide to give a free dessert but at that point I just wanted to eat my meal and go. It’s seems as if you are of Asian decent you will definitely get better service and treatment.

This was probably my favorite food by far! Everything was so different and so delicious. The owner came up and asked us how we enjoyed everything which was so kind. Order the Biang Biang noodles, yellow curry, Korean short ribs bowl and the ramen!! All the dumplings were delicious too. We loved every drink we had here as well! The frida was a big hit

Let me start by saying that I love RAMEN 😃 I’m always in search of good ramen. Bonito Kitchen did not disappoint. I ordered the TAN TAN ramen and omg the broth is perfection. It’s the right consistency, the right amount of spice, it’s so mouth watering. Im definitely going to miss the ramen here. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed. The staff is upper attentive and friendly.

Exterior dining in a picturesque setting with live plants & artwork. The ribeye dish was excellent. Service was horrible. Took 20 minutes to bring water, The watery drinks took 40 minutes and it took 1h 20m to bring the first appetizer. Waiter brought dishes we did not order but we consumed it as we were hungry and frustrated. The owner apologized that she lost 5 chefs but the kitchen was so small that it could not accommodate more than 1. It was too small to cater to about 40 diners that were seated. The dinner for 5 took more than 2 hours to be served. The owner gave 15% discount. The 2 month old restaurant needs to be upgraded for it to survive.

Bonito Kitchen was a great find! Amazing Asian fusion food and equally good drinks. Love the plants surrounding the outdoor sitting area at the back.

Spectacular dinner in an enchanted setting. Walked in early as we wanted to get to the gallery walk about 30 mins away. Seated immediately in the back garden. Nice wine/drink list BUT food was the SHOWCASE!! Green papaya salad with soft shell crabs, crispy cauliflower florets, and pork belly with spicy pineapple. A wonderful treat!
