Puerto Vallarta renders, among a selected few, restaurant D'Cortes. Hole-in-the-wall, 7 tables, unsavory part of town, you walk in with low expectations, you walk out a convert. Inside, you may experience a loss of composture when caught liking the plate... No tasting menu, Chef Cortés delivers exceptional cuisine. Every dish is an explosion of flavor. Perfect preparation and tasteful display. A place to repeat and repeat. A great cocktail list, and a reasonable wine one. I opted for the suggestion of the chef, a delectable italian Pinot Giggrio.

A hidden gem in a very quiet neighborhood, cozy interior, attentive and very friendly service, seafood dishes are absolutely delicious. Another satisfying dinner experience.

Omg this place. I don't even know where to start. Went here on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. The cocktail list is unique (and long). Every drink we had was delicious. And the food. THE FOOD! I think everyone wanted to lick their plates completely clean. I personally had the French salad (the deep fried camembert was 😍), the truffle pasta (recommend splitting this, it's incredible but very rich and half was more than enough), the octopus (one of the best octopus dishes I've ever had), the short rib (melted apart it was so tender). And of course desserts - chocolate lava cake, the creme brulee. On top of incredible food, the team there was very friendly, and overall lovely. It is a more expensive place but it truly is one of the best meals you'll have. A must visit when in PV.

OMG. Like others, I don't even know where to begin. This was an evening of pure delight and decadence, from start to finish. From the beautiful European salad served on a beautiful plate with the freshest of greens, berries, Camembert encrusted with panko bread crumbs and beautifully browned, candied pecans, and a light, delicious vinaigrette. Then the cream of lobster soup with a half of a lobster in the shell! The cream itself was fluffy and lighter than air, and the seasoning and lobster heavenly. And then there was the dessert. There were three of us and so the staff presented the three desserts on a large board adorned with dabs of delicious chocolate and cream and so beautifully presented. A creme brulee, a chocolate volcano cake with homemade ice cream and a banana cream cake, also with homemade ice cream. The Cortes family are all wonderful and lovely and you are truly dining in their home as honored guests. The cocktails were perfectly made, the Couvissier served in the perfect glass. There was no detail that was too small for their attention. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful restaurant and hospitality beyond compare. As you might guess, I would recommend this restaurant if you want a lovely, memorable evening!

I don’t know where to begin … Presentation. Flavor. Service. Ambience. Vibe. A+. S Tier. A meal of the lifetime. I can’t think of a better meal I’ve eaten … IN MY LIFE. MY ENTIRE LIFE. Granted I’m 26. The menu looks somewhat normal. Most restaurants try to sell and hype up every dish. This restaurant underplays the menu. Expectations are EXCEEDED! Again & Again. Simple banana caramel pie with red berries … check the photos. There is GOLD on it. A multicolored circle of sour raspberry. Drops of fudge. Berries that aren’t red. Cinnamon ice cream (to die for). Chocolate wafer. Never was any dish taken too early. Not rushed in any way. We were the only people there, and still didn’t feel rushed (it was pouring rain). Very comfortable feeling throughout our 2 hour meal. This place DELIVERS. Octopus was our favorite - tasted so fresh, not chewy at all, the sauce (whatever it was) was to die for. One of the best dishes we’ve had. Braised short ribs. Comes with BONE MARROW. The best sweet potato purée that reminds you of Thanksgiving with x10 flavor! PS. Cocktails were unique (pictured: Emilia’s Secret, St.Cibrian), americano … frothy.

A great small restaurant off the path a bit. Well portioned and tasty courses. Dessert was very glittery and colorful for our table. Arrived via Uber, but unavailable at the end of our meal. The restaurant arranged a cab back to the romantic zone for us.

We came to treat our friend for a nice meal and oh boy, this was amazing. We walked from Centro, a good 25 min walk that really prepared us to be hungry and we left stuffed. The mussels were creamy, salty and delicious. I wanted to drink the broth. The seafood pasta, incredible. The short rib, omg melt in your mouth. We got the banana pie and while it wasn’t our favorite (a little stiff for us) it was very good!! I’m sad we found this at the end of our trip and we’ll definitely recommend to friends and family who visit!

Came here for my anniversary dinner last week. Exceptional service. The food was so delicious. I had never had octopus carpaccio and it was phenomenal. Must try it. My husband had the tuna and it was perfect. I had the lamb and it was good and huge portions. My only regret was not ordering dessert and more drinks, we thought we would explore after dinner walk it off then get desert somewhere else. I wish we had just stayed and enjoyed dessert and more drinks there.

Fantastic finer dining option just outside of the normal tourist area in Vallarta. Excellent cocktails and food. Will definitely return!

A wonderful dining experience. I had not been to D'Cortés in several years, but I had great experiences in the past and wanted to share this place with a friend. The staff are pleasant and professional, the atmosphere is relaxed but refined, and the food is outstanding. The truffle mushroom soup is absolutely delicious. The pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender with lots of flavor. We will definitely return again and it won't be another two years.

Wow! Perhaps my new favorite place in PV! Intimate, but lively space with incredible service and amazing entrees. I had the short rib, which was fantastic, but everything on the menu looked fantastic. I've added to my must visit list for return trips to PV.

Wowza. Was this meal incredible… or what?! The octopus was simply delectable. Incredibly rich, tender, and full of flavor. This was only my third meal in PV… but it’s going to be hard to beat! Then… dessert! I had the banana caramel dessert… the texture was smooth and there was a delicious crumble that created the perfect flavor. Did I mention that the blueberries were covered in edible glitter?! Simply beautiful.

Absolutely delicious dining experience! This was our #1 favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. Everything we tried was amazing and the service was wonderful. It’s a little off the beaten road but it adds to its uniqueness. This is a must-try for foodies in PV!

Absolutely incredible experience. From the wine, to the food, to the service, this restaurant was an absolute 10/10. An extra thank you to Josh for making us feel so welcome. We were blown away by his service and are already planning our return.

Dinner last night was a 10. A very small restaurant where the chef is in the kitchen slaving over food that is to be the most beautiful and tasty dishes in Puerto Vallarta and much of any place in the Americas.Thank you for a great evening!

It was pouring rain when we arrived. A waiter came out with a giant Tommy Bahama umbrella to meet us and maintain our dryness until we were safely inside. The waiters were so attentive and welcoming. The drinks were really really great. Since our food was shared between us they staggered each dish with impeccable timing. We tried the mushroom soup, Peruvian ceviche, lamb shank, and the banana caramel pie. Everything was SO good! The mushroom soup was creamy and the fried Parm garnish complemented the flavors well. The Peruvian ceviche had a lovely tartness to it similar to aguachiles. The lamb shank was fall off the bone, melt in your mouth goodness with mushroom risotto and mixed roasted vegetables. And the dessert,... they took our preference of banana caramel pie and made it special for us. If you want to have a nice chill, quiet, fabulous dinner this is the place. There's only about twenty seats. You can make reservations. They have AC and they do accept cards. If you're in Vallarta D' Cortés is a must try.

This restaurant is truly exceptional! The food is of the highest quality, with delicious octopus, truffle pasta, and French salad being my favorites. It's a small place tucked away in the local neighborhood. The dining experience is delightful, the service is amazing, and the atmosphere is always pleasant. This place is truly magical.

Best meal I’ve had in Puerto Vallarta, had the Chilean mussels for appetizer and they were great, asked for more bread to soak up the rest of the sauce. Had the duck magret for my main and it was also delicious, perfectly cooked with a great almost fruity sauce topped on it. All cocktails were great too

I experienced a wonderful evening at this restaurant, the drink, and the food was exceptional and our waiter Ricardo was a cut above all I’ve seen here in the city

Wonderful ambience and attentive service. They were so quick with everything and one of the employees even waited outside with us and practiced English and Spanish while we waited for our cab! Drinks were so good. I tried a very unique one with sesame seeds in it and it was strangely delicious. Prices were pretty high for PV. For starters we had the French salad, which was tasty and the wild mushroom cream soup which was also very good. My friend was not impressed with the truffle pasta as she thought it tasted similar to cheap truffle oil you get at the grocery store. I got the Cornish game hen and it was good but not amazing. The banana and caramel pie is next level though. We may or may not come back, as there are so many restaurants in PV, only the best justify not trying something new. All in all it was a great experience, just not relative to other places in PV which is why I couldn’t give it 5 stars.

Stunning food, stunning service, stunning atmosphere. You will not regret coming here. Haven't had a better meal in PV. I would recommend reservations because it is a smaller place with not too many tables.
