Manalar waterfalls is yet another splendour of Kerala’s beauty tucked away within the silent creeks of the Western ghats. The small building along the nearest roadside is just a namesake facilitation center that does zero use to visitors. Then visitors would simply go off-route walking along a forest trail almost half a km into the forest to discover the Manalar falls. We had to jump across watercourses, climb up rocks and tread along bouldered terrains to reach the wonder. The falls occur in 4 steps and is a performance of nature’s exhibition. It occurs in a melody of synchronised descents and finally a crescendo of downstream flow. The sparkling and foaming hum of the water is a soothing resonace in the woodland setting. Certainly, a stress reliever for us city-dwellers. But the downside is that such tourism centers don’t have any facilities in the vicinity to access, in terms of basic amenities. Nature’s call needs to be addressed in the open which polluted the environment. No waste collection centers in the area, which means you would find a lot of unwanted stuff lying around. Another heads up- Watch out for the leeches. They are the blood-sucking vampires of the insect family, and quite camouflaged within the loamy soil.

Awesome place u can forgot everything nd enjoy lot u admire nature peaceful to life. Amazing spot on the border of Kerala and Tamilnadu, take caution while driving/riding. Elephant prone path. Entry is INR 20 for adults. Staff are kind and very responsive. A small hike on a trail will lead to 2 stages of water falls. Vehicle can be parked near the ticket counter. No change room near the falls, Worth a visit. Awesome Place, Best place for photography 🤩

Super awesome place for bike trips. Thrill roads, amazing forest environment. Best time to visit when low crowded. Mini trekking inside forest about 600 metres. Vehicles are safely guarded outside. If u are planning for a trip, must visit this place

Good place to enjoy with friends/family. Go with sufficient amount of liquid cash as there is no option of digital payment accepted. Almost all mobile networks will not be available, that is to expected in such forest routes. Almost a 600 meter small trek from entry gate will make to the falls. This trek is slippery and steep, for elder people it will be a difficult to walk through. Entry ticket is ₹50 per head and car parking charges ₹75 per car. Try to reach at morning time around 9:30 AM as rush increases over time.

We went here as the nearby Kumbavarutty falls entry was closed due to some technical issues. The track through the forest ~750m was really adventurous which we enjoyed. The stream will accompany us directly to the waterfall which is present in multiple levels. Getting into the bottom one was not an easy one and all family members couldn't get in. Also we didn't walk to the above fall which is closeby due to time constraints. Overall we enjoyed the monsoon experience in the forest.

Very nice and safe waterfalls even for kids. Forest guards are always on duty for security. Our family enjoyed it well. Entry between 9am to 2pm. Thanks to the forest officers..

Manalar Waterfalls is a calm spot with a nice vibe and not too many people. We tried going to Kumbavuruty waterfalls, but it was closed for repairs. So, we ended up at Manalar waterfalls. There’s not much parking space, and we had to pay to park on the street. It’s a chill place with few tourists and enough water to unwind.

My experience after visiting this place was horrible. The issue is not the environment or the tidiness or the waterfall. Basic amenities were not available near the area. For all those who plan to visit, keep in mind to prepare yourselves or you would find yourself in a dire situation.

This is a small river which is in Kerala Jurisdiction. They have a man-made waterfall too. Courtallam season times it can be very busy during the weekends.

Manalar waterfalls From pathanamthitta, ride through konni achankovil route around 50 km we reach the beautiful two waterfalls which is manalar. The journey around 35 km is through dense forest. Will hive an awesome experience. The entry fee is 40rs and the two waterfalls are controlled by the securities, for male and female visitors. The falls for ladies are shallow and light and for males we need to trek around 1km inside the forest and its bit higher one. Most of the visitors are from tamilnadu because its close to tamilnadu biarder. And from kerala its too difficult to reach.the road from kerala is through dense forest and enriched with the presence of elephant and other animals. If we want to reach there easily we can ride from kollam thenmala - chenkotta highway very easily.
