It is 10 km from the main road to the view point. At least half of it is off road drive. The view is amazing in the rainy season. In summer there is not much water in the catchment area. In rain the road will become a mud road. Tickets are 50 rs per person.

View point from where we see the catchment area of thenmala dam. Not much place to explore here. Two minutes walk and a watch tower, that's all there. The road to this place is beautiful. Through the woods. Cool atmosphere. Two three places ,where small streams cross through the road. Rainy days the roads would be difficult for two wheelers. Small rocks are there at the view point. It would be difficult for small kids. 50 rupees entrance fees for one person. Parking space available. Not a must visit place. The road to the point is good.

Rosemala .Nestled amidst the pretty pristine woods of Shenduruney forests, Rosemala is a well kept secret of Kerala. Located in the Aryanvaku in the Kollam district, the valley appears the unfurling petals of a rose, hence the name. The highlight of the place is that it can only be reached by a 10 km long trek through the jungle. Boasting of panoramic vistas of the gorgeous surroundings, the major attractions of the place are the beautiful woods, a watch tower and the lake. The tourists are welcomed to watch sweeping views of the surroundings and of the lake from the watchtower and also of the mighty Thenmala Dam. The beautiful valley abounds in the bounty of nature and is a mesmerizing place to visit. Rosemala is a hidden destination in Kerala and hence is not very known, even in the region. It is therefore preserved in its virgin state and is not visited by a lot of tourists. You can soak in the serenity of nature and relax and unwind here amidst bounteous nature, away from the chaos and din of the city. Ganapathikunnu View Point is the major highlight of the place that is a vantage point. From here, you can watch the mesmerising views of not only the Thenmala Dam reservoir but also of the pristine lake. There are also surreal views of the coiling valley available below On the way to the watchtower, there are several tea stalls and maggi points on the way that serve delicious refreshments to satiate your hunger pangs. Aside from good food, you can also hear the exciting tales of the locals. Venture out in the dense jungles. On the trails leading inside, you can spot several herds of elephants roaming around freely. However, stay alert and if possible, take a guide along with you..i

Less popular place but provides a Magnificent view. Need to drive uphill through the forest for 30 to 40 minutes to reach this beautiful place. Tough roads but all cars can make it provided you have good driving skills. The ticket counter closes by 5pm. There is a 200 meters trek to see the view point from the car parking area.

Stunning view . Really a must visit place . Trivandrum kollam folks can plan for a one day trip . Around 5 km there is no proper road. With 4 memebers 1.1 ltr engine vehicle can go without turning the ac . Few grades are very horizontal very difficult to climb with 1 St gear also . Jeeps services are available in the starting point.(from national highway junction) Need to carry water while going to the view point . There is no snacks counter at present.

The place is very very awesome you have to take a 10-14km to reach the top. Try to visit the place in the rainy season you will get a nice view from the top. Roads are not good so try to go by bike even though you can go by scooter but it's not safe. It's off road. the ticket charge is 50.Try to reach there early in the morning or in the evening.

It was a very wonderful experience…apart from the breathtaking view from the watch tower, one can explore many waterfalls on the way to this view point. It is always better to go before 7am or after 4pm

One of the best view I have ever seen. 30 min drive to reach here. I definitely recommend don’t use your normal car to reach here because slightly off road drive. We took Jeep from the entrance area. If someone requires his contact number please let me know. He collected around 1200INR. Adult entrance fee is 50INR

From Trivandrum-Aryankaavu road, we have to go inside to go to Rosemala. Road is through forests & its gets tricky to drive along certain stretches, since is not a tar road. We went during summer time. But in rainy season road will be slippery. So have to be careful. The views from watch tower is really amazing. Catchment area of kallada irrigation project is a sight to watch.

I spend a splendid time visiting this place from main road almost 10km drive roads are bit challenging so caution should be taken in between you can find many streams enjoy the time and please do not prefere for late night with family as it is a remote area and you can spot wild life easily specially snakes and monkeys. Be safe and please don't litter and spoil the nature...😊

A place where you can visit to have some peace , the route is through the forest and it will bring peace to you soul. Definitely don't visit during summer. There are water crossing at many places and if you are visiting during summer you will be disappointed. The calmness and greenery will definitely make you happy. If possible go by two wheeler. The road is 80% ok with the rest as off road. You will find it interesting . And finally the viewpoint, it'll definitely pay you for the effort you took to visit . Don't get stranded there. A must visit place . NB of you are lucky you could spot some animals. Please don't litter.

It's a very good drive. Reach till Ariyankavu. Hotel Sky high is the stop point. From there Please make sure that you take a jeep service. Will cost you 1k. Don't try to take your car unless it's a good SUV. View Point is good

Great place to have a weekend. Several kilometres of offroad route accessible by ksrtc bus, car or even bikes. If you choose bus, then have walk some extra distance of around 300m to reach the view point. But bikes n cars can park 100m near the view point. Then trek to the top to reach the tower. 📷🌳🏍️🪨

One of the most beautiful view of nature. Entry fees to the viewpoint was 40 rupees. Expected little more offroad; but now the roads are almost 90% concreted.

If you love off road driving. This is the best place to be. Do not come during raining time, tires won't get any grip. Off road vehicles would have an advantage. The rosemala view is not worth the drive nor paying an entry fee of 50 rs per head. The time required to reach the top of rosemala is 1 hr even though the distance is only 10 km

We had to travel around 10km through the Woods and it's off-road, Adventure bikes, Jeep or SUV recommended. In Halfway there was a Checkpost (Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary), after notedowning our contact details we allowed to enter the forest. Plastic-free & resticted area. Clear Streams and Refreshing air. After reaching "Rose hill" there was an entry pass costs ₹40 per head. After 10mins of trekking we reached our Destination. There was a Watchtower up there and it gave a Cool View of Malankara Dam Which was unforgettable.

It's an off road ride. Only vehicles with ground clearance are recommended for the drive. Though the view point is not that great, however the 10km way towards Rosemala from Aranyakavu is mesmerizing. Kindly carry snacks and water if you are going with kids. Good spot for nature lovers.

A verygood ride and view.. Its a one hour of off road drive ( kind of) through the jungle.. on the way we pass through many small waterfalls.. both sides of the road is scenic throughout the ride.. They have a view point at last where we have this amazing view of Islands.. roads are bot harsh on some parts of the journey.. they got jeep from the main road which charges 1000/ person.. I suggest you to go by your private vehicle.. sedan low profile cars should not go by the route, suvs are okay.. drive safely

Absolutely Wonderful view and worth the drive. The ride towards rosemala is equally exciting. Very friendly locals. Best for two wheel riders. However a fee of 40Rs is not reasonable as theres no activity or more place to go other than the viewpoint after the ticket counter.

This place is overwhelmed with scenic nature beauty 🖤 Little bit hard journey to this viewpoint but all the risk to get there is worth the view , the journey is through a scary road in a mountain forest area , the travel in the day time is easier but when it becomes night its scary and has no safety for your travel , the people live there claim that they faced problems regarding Wild elephants and other dangerous wild animals but we've been here before and Haven't seen any single wild life

Hardest climb gives you the best view.! Road to rosemala was very tough as it is full of off roading. Make sure u choose a jeep from the starting point or have a good driving skill along with an SUV . The view from Rose mala is astounding. Great place to relax and have great pictures. We can't capture the actual beauty in a picture. Go and feel it.

Best for off-road lovers and super view point, this place reach from ariyankavu (please try Jeep or SUV Cars) if rainy day don't go to two wheeler

Good place to hang out with friends. But the road to Rosemala view point is very much like driving through a forest path. Better to go on bikes and jeeps.

  • 5/5 ASIF K A. 1 year ago on Google
The most mesmerizing experience one can have and especially if you are an adventure enthusiast and love going offroad with your two wheeled machine.... The trail ride through the forest is worth the efforts because of the view.
