Biggest vegetable market in pune. Good market for veggies, fruits, clothes, devotional item, fast food center, mobile stores & much more to buy in wholesale rates. It's a hustling bustling place in early morning. There is too much traffic & stinky sometimes but that is really good place. This market is also historical place. This market is very near to Pune Railway Station.

A heritage market place of the city. A perfect place to go morning shopping for your daily veggie and fruit needs. You can haggle a bit with the merchants too considering the competition and you'll get things almost the cheapest in the rest of the city surely. All sorts of interesting things to see and buy around here.

Very crowded place to visit in weekend and holiday. On top of that metro station construction is going on so it makes traffic worst. Parking is open but you need to go toward Swargate and they have given way from there.

Nice place to buy vegetables and fruits and some indian wedding and functional stuff , you will find the best cold drinks and nira and sarbat here in small colddrink shop in corner to chill if you feeling really hot in summer or cause of crowd, you will have parking issues here but mahanagar palika created multilevel parking system here , it's difficult to get space in this multilevel pay and parking to park your car , if you are lucky you will get space , best you go with auto or cab , if you are using bike to travel here then it's very difficult to get parking space for bike as well

I am visiting this place since I came to Pune in 2005. This is the place where you can get all Indian as well as foreign vegetables and fruits very fresh and of best quality. You can also buy other daily usable things which shops are located on walking distance from Mandai. The building in which all Mandai is located is built by British and has its historic values.

Today the market about 526 stalls of fruits and vegetables. It is always crowded because fruits and vegetable are available at lower cost than other places in the city, but is most crowded on weekends and holidays. The market has its own Ganesh Mandal for Ganesh Festival and is one of the oldest in Pune and Maharashtra. The proposed skywalk will run on four sides of the market

Mahatma Phule Mandai in Pune, established in 1885, is a historic market offering a diverse range of goods. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, the market features fresh produce, street food stalls, and a unique architectural charm. Accessibility is convenient, and it provides a cultural experience

This is one of the oldest vegetable markets in the town and I must say it has kept its legacy as is by all its glories. If you are in the peth area for shopping this place needs your visit to take the necessary vegetables and fruits along. I sometimes purchase my week-long supplies of vegetables and fruits from here They are all fresh and are available at the most affordable prices.

Perfect for whole week's vegetable shopping on Sunday morning ... The veggies are not necessarily cheap but definitely better quality compared to what's available at regular sellers... Plenty of sellers around so there's a choice of where to buy from. Some specific sellers are popular with some families. My mother buys coconuts only from a seller called Pavgi here. Overall very satisfactory veggies shopping can be done here.

It was an very and old i. e over than 120+ yrs heritage building at with an great architecture the heart of the City, it's construction was superb that is having a 8 wings and one center tower which looks fabulous. It is retail vegetable market in which You can get all the fresh vegetables, Fruits and many more items which requires for cooking. Vegetable directly comes from the farms hence available at reasonable rates. Drawback is Parking is the main issue which cant be resolved since their will always be a space issue due to that many time heavy traffic is there but other part is that if the customer itself follows self decipline the Issue can be resolved or minimised. Sooner there will be underground metro station hope which is under construction now so hope after that parking issue will somehow resolved.

The architecture of this Mandai is so good. It looks inspired from British churches & forts. I'm not much aware about it's history but it looks amazing. Yes it's a mandi at the end of the day & gets dirty due to everyday business activities (and Indian tendency to spit at any clean wall), I wish the vendors take responsibility & maintain it cuz not everything should be expected from the Municipality. It's a heritage site & bears the name of Mahatma Phule, so it must be treated with respect. If you like old architecture or a casual shopper thinking to get your everyday veggie, this is worth the visit.

Variety and availability of the vegetables is the main thing of Mandai. You can buy fruits and vegetables in small quantities as well as bulk quantities at a reasonable rate. Parking is available for 10rs for two wheeler and 20-40 rupees for four wheeler. Do purchase vegetables from here or other grocery and stuff from near by places.

More cleanliness required here. Rest all okay. This is the main vegitable market, Mandai of Pune City. Its a one of attraction point in Pune. It is located near Tulsi baug Pune.

One of the most iconic places. Always crowded. One can find various fruits and vegetables.

  • 4/5 Kedar S. 1 year ago on Google
Lot of fresh vegetable varieties at good price. Good part is many sellers are accepting UPI cashless payment. Old place with nice hexagonal architecture with lots of traditional sellers inside Cleanliness and waste management has to improve and government agencies and sellers need to work jointly for the same Lot of traffic due to metro work so one should not take four wheeler. Two wheelers are the best option or use auto rikshaw.

Overall must visit beautiful building. There is beautiful mandai ganpati idol nearby. Also very nice neera shop just right next to one of the entrances of old building Pros: Beautiful architecture. The old building itself is quite clean for vegetable market. It is also comparatively quiet considering it is market. Cons: You can't get parking easily. Market with limited parking is market with limited customers and visitors. There is lot of scope for improvement for infrastructure. There needs to be visible information board about building. Roads leading to building are always clogged with traffic. Mostly because of encroachment and indiscipline of people.

This is a mandai where wholesale vegetables get sold. But surprisingly it is no cheaper than the retail market if you buy vegetables here as a individual customer. In fact few vegetables are cheaper in retail market than what I found here. Also couldn't find few vegetables which is common in other parts of country.

  • 3/5 Rajesh J. 1 year ago on Google
Outside sellers are very arrogant, inside ones are little better but no much difference. This is a crowded place. There are 2 parkings for car and bike. Shri Dagdusheth Ganapati is at walking distance. Tulsi baug is immediately next to mandai. Currently, metro work is in progress.

Its like ritual on Sunday morning to visit this place fresh vegetables. This place should be clean as people come here for vegetables, fruits and flowers. It should be cleaned on hourly basis so more people come. Also earlier the parking used to open at 7 am but now it's opening later. It makes inconvenience for parking so people park on the road.

In the early years of the British rule an open air vegetable market used to be held outside the Shaniwar Wada. This shifted to an indoor place built by the Poona Municipality. The construction of the Gothic style building started in 1882 and took 4 years for completion. It was designed and built by Walter Ducat and Vasudeo Kanitkar with significant input from engineer Narso Ramchandra Godbole

The Mandai is one of the the original and oldest fruit and vegetable markets of Pune. The building is a beautiful 19th century structure and is one of the most iconic landmarks of the city. It is a hustling and bustling place where people from all walks of life congregate to buy fruit and vegetables at a good rate. The Mandai cha Ganapati is also very famous and is supposed to fulfill prayers of devotees.

Good for buying veggies and fruits at affordable prices. Mostly everyone sells at fixed price. But congested and crowded place (due to metro work maybe). Also park your vehicle at ur own risk...

Ideal place to shop anything. Fresh Veggies, fruits, Banana leaves, use and throw plates, decorative items, lot of variation for pooja required things, savoury snacks and many more. It is one of Pune's iconic place.

  • 5/5 Balaji V. 2 years ago on Google
The best of the veggies market in the city. All varieties of vegetables and seasonal fruits are usually available. The market place has a parking area as well

  • 5/5 Amol R. 2 years ago on Google
There are hardly 12-15 vegetable sellers actually selling vegetables. Most of other stalls are occupied by people who sell fruits and vegetables outside the premises, on the street. Fruit vendors have mostly shut down. People either buy their weekly stuff from Gultekdi Market Yard at cheaper rates, or some low price local markets. Mandai has lost its business because the PMC has not been able to control or get rid of illegal fruits and vegetable stalls been erected and operating on every corner of the city.

Good place to buy a variety of vegetables and fruits from, however the price is on the higher side and the vendors hardly negotiate on the price. Overall cleanliness is decent. There is a paid parking space for 4 wheelers however it opens at 10 am. Early morning before 8.30 am parking for 4 wheelers is not an issue.

A historic place in heart of city... it's a vegetable market. U will find every available veggie in retail and wholesale quantity. Now metro station is build under ground. Named as MANDI STATION.

  • 5/5 Sameer G. 1 year ago on Google
Best place to get fresh Vegetables and Fruits from. You can get variety of vegetables here. Now a days it’s crowded because of Metro Station work. This place is more Vibrant during Ganpati festival.

  • 5/5 N G. 2 years ago on Google
This is by far the biggest market in Pune. The structure looks majestic and has a British architecture look. You don't have non veg selling in the market but mostly any vegetables or fruits you can fathom. They had the original market complex falling short so extended more behind the original structure. Tip for photography: you can get a panoramic view from the multi level car parking area just beside this place from the top floor, it lights up very well in the evening too.
