I have visited this place on Saturday at 10.30 AM, fortunately there was no rush at all at the ticket counter. I would suggest to go early in the morning to avoid queue for tickets. Parking is besides the bus stop which is prior to the zoo park. The ticket is just 40 rs for adults. You get so many animals and snakes to see inside this zoo at such a low cost. If you see the entire zoo by walking then it takes around 2hrs to cover, but there are benches placed where you can take a rest. If you are young then I would suggest to go by walking so you get enough time to see the animals as per your ease. Overall a very nice place to visit with your kids.

Great place to spend time with family and kids. Lots of animals. We were lucky enough to see the Lion, Bengal tiger and whiter tiger. Battery operated vehicles are available for 40 es each. And it takes approx 40-50 minutes to complete the visit. Plastics are not allowed inside. Washroom and water facilities are available but you should take food items with you or else can buy from outside.

The zoo is an incredible attraction, offering a magnificent array of wildlife that is sure to captivate any visitor. With an impressive variety of species, ranging from exotic snakes to majestic big cats, it's an absolute must-see destination for animal lovers. To make the most of your visit, it's best to plan your trip during the weekdays when the crowds are lighter. On the weekends, the zoo tends to get quite busy, which can make it challenging to see all of the exhibits and enjoy the experience fully. As for the ticket price, it's a very reasonable 40 rs, making it an affordable outing for families and individuals alike. The zoo's main attractions are not to be missed. You'll encounter the sloth bear, a fascinating creature known for its slow movements and distinctive snout. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to see alligators, crocodiles, and various species of snakes, including some of the most exotic and venomous snakes in the world. And, of course, no trip to the zoo would be complete without seeing the regal big cats, such as the tigers and lions. Overall, the zoo is an incredible destination that is sure to provide a memorable experience. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast or just looking for an exciting day out, the zoo is an attraction that should be high on your list of places to visit. Note :- Parking is available at a distance of 300 metres from the zoo.

We have visited this zoo before pandemic start. One of the best zoo I have ever visited. I took my son to this zoo to see the wild animals, since he was learning about wild animals in school syllabus. This zoo is huge and vast it’s not an easy to cover up in one day as we get tired. My son thoroughly enjoyed seeing the animals. I enjoyed too, many rare animals can be seen in this zoo. The atmosphere of the zoo is very pleasant and enjoyable. I love the fact that this zoo is entirely in the jungle which is one of the best place for the animals. Highly recommend this zoo👍

Good park to take young kids. Cleanliness is maintained. Just people need to understand it's a zoo where you are suppose to watch various animals and not to have picnic. Apart from entry fee was 40 rupees per adult which various for foreigners. DSLR are allowed. I think you need to pay extra charges for it. The Snake Park was having various types of snakes well kept. Must visit.

One of the good zoological park i have ever seen. Well maintained, clean. You can get bicycles and battery operated car. Charges are reasonable. I liked most is tiger zone. Must visit. Outside park there is small food counters and amusement rides.Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park located in Katraj. The park covers a large area and provide ample space to every animal they possess. Also the animals are well fed and people are able to view them except their sleeping hours. It is especially good for the kids as they get to see number of animals which they cannot see otherwise. The campus is covered by huge trees and has shade for most of the day. The snake park has a number of snakes as well as other reptiles, it had pythons as well as the cobras. Lastly just want to say that it's a nice, serene place which can make up for a good weekend spot.

Nice place where children can see the animals which they have never seen in real. Please carry cash as they didn't had google pay option when i visited also they have car to travel inside which cost 40₹ per person, this ticket counter also needed cash or else you have to walk to much. If you carry water bottle you have to give deposit of ₹10 per bottle which you will get back when you show the bottles while going Out. Please try to come early else you will not get the parking in parking station.

Great tourist attraction, right in the middle of the city. The reptile arena & Snake park is the best part of the zoo. Other animals like lion, tiger & elephants are kept in separate enclaves at some distance to each other. It was a wonderful experience. The entire zoo can be covered in 2 hours. Battery operated vehicles, driven by the zoo staff, are available for a nominal charge. Carry water in your own home bottles, there's an additional deposit if you have plastic disposables. The management has taken great efforts to maintain cleanliness & discipline. Great for children and family groups.

This place is close since lockdown. It will not be open for atleast next 3 months. But as no information is added online, people still goes there and waste time in traveling. Do not visit until you surely know about its opening.

Car Parking is just before zoo, beside bus parking. If you are coming via car don’t go till gate of zoo, parking is 100 metres before zoo on the same side. Zoo is full of different variety of snakes however you will see limited wild animals. Electric car inside zoo is available for ease. Total walkable distance inside is 2km. Prices : Zoo entry:40 per person Electric car:40/person or 520 for whole car Parking :40 for 3 hours

Such a great place to take our kids for short day trip. This place is full of people on weekends though. We should have visited on weekday instead of weekend. It's a huge place to walk around and see animals and it's safe. You have to collect ticket at the entrance. Bus service is available only after 1 pm may be? Not sure about the timings but when we visited they asked us to wait for bus booking till 1 pm. But you'll get a big queue for bus booking as well. There should be full day bus booking office so that people don't have to wait for long. We really didn't want to waste our time so went on walk and saw animals as many as possible.Trust me if you are carrying a baby you'll exhaust by walking. Please carry pram or something for babies. Tiger,Lion, Bear sleeps in the afternoon 🤣 If you're lucky you'll see them awake. Elephants were old but they were cute. There are soooooo many snakes in there. Actually there's a separate area for snakes and reptiles. Overall we enjoyed our short trip but would recommend for Parents of 2 years below kids to get the pram or book a bus and Roam around.

Nice place to visit and spend time family / friends. It takes around 2 - 2.5 hrs to visit the Complete zoo. On weekend it’s crowded. Ticket for adult is 40/person and for kids 10/ kid. If you are going to visit zoo without booking online tickets then make sure you carry cash with you for purchasing the tickets, because they accept only cash on counter. You can book online also on their website. Also if you want to travel with vehicle in park then you can book electrical vehicle. It’s around ₹40/person. Many animals are available in the park.

Awesome small trip destination. But go early in the morning on these days so all animals can see near you. Whenever you go then ply go first to see Tiger and Lion then only visit the snake side. They arrange electric carts for roaming within the zoo. Timing for Zoo is 9.30 to 5.30.

Best Place ever to visit with the family and friends and have many different types of animals and they are well maintained too. Tip- Please keep cash before visiting the place no online payment available and 40/- per person are the charges. Have good facilities inside have toilets and have electrical Vehicles inside the zoo . Tip 2- Must wear shoes 👞 we have to walk around 8000 Steps approximately. And we can take outside food items also inside the zoo and and must keep an extra water bottle with you before visiting the place . Tip 3- zoo parking is to the left side of the zoo so you have parking facilities also available here. Thank you Must Visit.!

Awesome place to visit with family and friends. You will be know the value of tree and animals whenever you visit this place . It consists of snake park and zoo. The zoo is very spacious and has almost all important wild animals. The main attractions are snake park with 14 feet long King Cobra,Tiger cubs, Indian bison, Indian wolf etc. Zoo has best facilities for visitors including electric cars, bicycles etc to visit every corner of zoo. But I suggest you should keep walking so that you can feel the beauty of nature. It's take approximately 3 hours to cover every corner of zoo. visit once in your life . Timing: 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM Ticket : Adult -₹ 40 . per person. Kids - ₹10 . (height should be less than 4 feet.) Foreigner- ₹100 per person You can carry your food inside the zoo. *PLASTIC BAGS ARE STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED. My humble request to everyone please do not throw garbage , plastic bottles, food wrapper , clothes in zoo. Please be clean our environment.

This place is suitable for animal lovers. So many good animals in park. its a good zoo with a variety of birds, snakes and animals especially for children. The main attraction here is the white tiger, tiger and leopard. However it is really huge and hence highly recommend wearing flat comfortable footwear while visiting especially if one is not opting for the car service. It will take atleast 1-2 hrs if planning to go touring the zoo on foot. The sprawling 130-acre (53 ha) zoo is divided into three parts: an animal orphanage, a snake park, and a zoo, and includes the 42-acre (17 ha) Katraj Lake. It is a lovely place to spend a few hours. If you are short of time, you can take a ride in the battery operated mini vehicles which will make the journey a little faster. the electric (battery operated) car service is available every 15 minutes @ rs 40/- for adults and big kids. kids of age 4 and above are charged @ rs 25/- . Maximum capacity is 13 people per car. It takes half hour to visit the entire zoo via this car. Main attractions are covered - white tiger, tiger, leopard along with showing of bison, elephant, deer etc. They donot take to the snake park and bird section. Though tickets are available on entering the zoo (at the bus station) but still inquire of the tickets for the car sevice at the main ticket counter itself to avoid inconvenience just in case of change in rules. The gardens are well maintained. But the zoo needs some more animals - Zebra, Ziraffe, Ostriches, Emus, Kangaroos, etc. and of course, penguins, etc.

Good place for the one who likes Zoological park. I was visited here in Month of December was having a very good experience, found different species of animals, birds, I even saw the tiger, white tiger. And the best thing is having lake view one of the best place I have ever visited. It is having a large area nearly about 130 acres we are really exhausted by walking. Authorities should start e rickshaw for travelling inside the park. Overall good experience.

It's beautiful in large areas of 130 acres. 30 acres covered by only the lake. It's a beautiful for one day picnic. But if your agenda is Animal watching, then it's disappointing. Because there are wild animals but they slip all the time at the opposite wall so we can't see them.

Nice place to enjoy a one day trip at the zoo. Before entering please be with sufficient time, food and water. There is a small entry fee and the counter is outside left. This is mostly some rush or queue. The entry was closed by 4pm in the evening but you can enjoy here till 5.30-5.45pm. This time may change by season. You will find the zoo map at the right side once you enter. At your left side, you will find the variety of sneaks poisons as well non-poisons. There is a battery operated small vehicle available with additional charges but that is with time limitation. You will find the main attraction elephants and lions at the end of the Zoo which is around 2.5km from the main entry so starting from the end is better. Bear, variety of deer, leopard, white tiger, yellow tiger, monkey are there. At various places you will find public toilets and water tanks, not sure about their cleanliness as I didn't use that. So enjoy your small trip, stay safe.

Located at Katraj area. Zoological park with Katraj Lake, and 3 zones namely Bear, Lion and Elephant zones. Best option is to take Electric Minibus 🚐, it will take less time to cover all areas. Price is decent. Also enthusiastic person can rent Bicycles. Carrying plastic items is allowed only after payment of 10₹ per item. Bags are liable to check upon entry. Most of areas were clean but crowded.

The enclosure of lion and tigers is very small, the enclosure of deer had no grass, and just dry leaves. 22 out of the 46animals mentioned in their map are “proposed animals”. There are very few boards inside the zoo. The area lacks greenery and had soo much polluted air due to the ongoing construction in the zoo. Snake park is good with many species and information boards. Overall 2/5, the ticket is too cheap (₹40 for adults) so it is value for money.

It's a good place to spend a few hours on a non productive holiday. It's nothing exciting, there's only a few animals that you'd want to see. Snake park is better as you can see them more closely. Other than that, it's a decent place between jungle, there's a lot of trees and benches and water availability which makes it a nice family picnic if you have little kids.

Recently visited there and found white tiger addition as well as planning to reserve Hyenas soon. Lion boundaries newly organized and found female lion in cage that is not released yet. One of the favorite place for not only kids but also adults. This park management having big place with them for adding new animals without any trouble. Now you can scan QR code and without queue you can enter for the park.

It has a snake park with many reptiles. Main Attraction of the Zoo is White Tiger. You can take food inside. Toilet and drinking facility are very good. The management of this place is very good. The day we visited was republic day so the crowd was much more than usual, besides that it is just nice strolling around here, looking at animals and relaxing for a bit. As the zoo is quite huge, you will surely need to walk a lot, so be prepared for it (estimated walk: min 5 km). If you cannot, there is availability of electric vehicle, which gives you a nice tour, but I really recommend you to buckle up and explore. You'll be amazed how awesome the tiger and the lion looks especially! Recommended if you're curious, not for you if you hate walking great 7.3/10

Very well maintained zoological park. You can see Tiger Lions Bulls various types of snakes. Also cute pandas. Very peaceful place in pune. Every were is greener. Not so much people. You can enjoy the beauty of nature in middle of pune. The staff is cooperative and helpful. The whole place very clean. The lions and tigers are hard to find as they were always sleeping in trees. There is also a white tiger but not visible easily. There are also a cheetah sleeping on the top of tree. There are variety of snakes in zoo. There are also a giant crocodile in a zoo. Also cobras and other snakes. You always here the beautiful sound of birds every ware in the zoo. It is one of the best picnic spot in pune. School picnic are so common here. The mobile phone and cameras are allowed here to take selfie and capture the animals. The ticket price is very minimal. There are not big restaurants out side the zoo. Small vendor are there for some snack. Very beautiful place. Every one should visit here. There are also lots of deer and two big elephants.

There are different types of snake are available in the park . You will need at least 3-4 hours to enjoy everything available in the park. The journey of watching the zoo end at the elephant point. When you go there you will feel like you are in forest. You can experience forest life there. Different kind of birds are also there . Tiger as well as lion 🦁 is also present there. Whatever you can think of about forest that you will find there. Of course you will feel calm there.

The toilets are disgusting. They smell a lot. Floor is very dirty. They are not maintained properly. This is the biggest drawback of this zoo. Some steps should be taken in order to keep it clean as the zoo earns more then 10-20k per day as they have more 4-5k visitors per day. Cost of the ticket is 40₹ per head which is reasonable. Overall zoo is beautiful and clean except the washroom. Lot of variety of animals you get to see. Best place to spend time with your family. Great experience! Very crowded most of the days.

The zoo provides a generally positive experience, especially for animal enthusiasts. Spanning a large area, it takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to explore the entire facility. However, as someone not particularly fond of animals, my personal enjoyment was limited during the visit. One notable suggestion is the need for more seating arrangements, as there was a lack of space or benches for visitors to rest. This improvement could enhance the overall comfort for all patrons.

The zoo is not at par with other zoos in the country. The initial park that is Snake park is a unique and main attraction along with Lion and Tiger. The initial half is only worth visiting. Many places don't even have names of animals. Some places have a board of Jackal, Hynes etc but there is no animal there which is misleading. The only part worth visiting is the Tiger area post where there is nothing except Elephant which is at the end of Zoo. So if you want to see an elephant you have to walk half of the zoo to get there. Now maintenance has become very poor as compared to 3 years ago. Employees are not bothered about anything and not so helpful. I would suggest to avoid it or else only visit for Snakes, Leopard, Tiger, Lion, Peacock, Deer, Nilgay, Crocodile, Tortoise, Bison, Bear. Majorly these are only animals that you would see. Construction is also under progress at many places in the zoo. Not sure what development they are doing when many of the cages are empty. Might be these issues are due to COVID since 2 years.

Nice zoo for one-time visit.. Many animals were not available after lockdown... Elephants are kept at so long... And same were not visible as you need to see from long.. Pond water is dirty need to clean it... Require more animals... It's an avarage lookin zoo.. But you will love cold weather and fresh air... You can use internal electric vehicles to take a long trip... In walking you will definitely tire and will not visit entire zoo... Tickets is Rs.40/person...

A few days ago, I had the pleasure of visiting a vibrant and captivating zoo that left me in awe. The zoo housed a myriad of animals, including both **venomous and non-venomous snakes**, showcasing their intricate beauty and fascinating behavior. Reptiles like **crocodiles, alligators, and tortoises** gracefully inhabited their enclosures, while **vultures, peacocks, owls, and kites** showcased their majestic feathers. The presence of diverse cat varieties, such as the elusive **jungle cat**, added to the allure of the zoo, alongside the adorable **mountain squirrels** and the mighty **sloth bears**. The photogenic **leopards and tigers** stole the show, captivating visitors with their majestic presence. The zoo also boasted residents like **wolves, jackals, elephants**, and a plethora of other fascinating creatures, making it a truly remarkable and memorable experience.

Great place to spend Sundays! This actual zoo offers a variety of animals to watch. Children would love it, as they can see lots of wild animals roaming freely in their cage areas. The animals have plenty of space to stay happily. The ticket cost for adults is ₹40, and there is an option to book tickets online on their website, eliminating the need to stand in a queue for purchasing tickets.

One notable suggestion is the need for more seating arrangements, as there was a lack of space or benches for visitors to rest. This improvement could enhance the overall comfort for all patrons.

Park located in Katraj. Good for one time visit with family or friends. Adult tickets cost RS. 40/- and it's free for kids under 3 year age. You can walk or ride cycles. It's a very big area. You may see different animals here, like tiger, elephants, snakes, birds, crocodiles and many more. but I feel animals are not active very much. Animals are well covered in the cages, so there is no harm to visiters. Washroom are available in different locations. This place is clean and well mentioned. There's also lot of information are available. I think they need to do more care for all the animals, I really feel bad about them.

Wonderful place to visit and explore unseen animal, birds and other species with family or friends ... Must visit place... The Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, commonly known as the Rajiv Gandhi Zoo or Katraj Zoo, is located in Katraj, Pune district, Maharashtra State, India. It is managed by the Pune Municipal Corporation. Located on Pune-Satara road about 9-10 kms. away from central Pune & little ahead from Bharati Vidyapeeth campus you will see on the left hand side of the road.

Main attractions are the big cats. You can get some very good sightings of tigers here. Many other animals are present here like monkeys, deers, Bison, Wolfs and jackal Among many others. Very good variety of snakes and other reptiles is present as the separate section for reptiles. Not a very big zoo but you can enjoy 3-4 hours here. Asiatic lion is one of the new entry in the animal section over the past two years but tiger is the best I like it off the zoo As you can get some very clear and close up pictures of the big cat which is not the case in many other zoos.

It's a huge space for wild animals. Mostly this is famous for Snakes and reptiles. We got to see Leopard, Tiger, Black buck, Deer, Sloth bear, Jungle Cat, Elephant, Peacock, Vulture, Giant squirrels, Antelope etc. Surprisingly it was moderately crowded on a Saturday. We expected more visitors. There are electric vehicles for internal transport for senior citizens and people with small kids. You can also take a stroller for you child. Stroller can't be taken to see Snake park and Birds though. There you need to carry you child. Due to walking, it can get tiresome on a sunny day. Advise to carry water bottles and food items in steel vessels. Entry fee here for Indian adult is Rs 40. Same is charge for electric vehicle.

It's a good zoo to visit , ticket was 40 at that time. It have snakes, birds and animals. But it can be kept more clean their habits. Apart from this it's takes long walk to cover all animals, birds and snakes to see so be prepare to walk or else once can take ride on vehicle which take you around. So happy to see people bring their kids and have picnics here.

Loved the experience of visiting the zoo. I have visited this zoo after 2years. It has been improved a lot. Lot new animals like lion, cheetahs etc are added to zoo. Just need to walk a lot as it's a huge zoo. There are ferries available which are charging minimal amount. Place is good to visit with family and friends.

Don't have much pictures.. But it's an amazing place overall. Leopards were the most Beautiful.. Never ever saw a picture that captured their true beauty.

A historic and worth visiting Shahji/ Sahuji palace which takes you through the royal days and gives you an insight of the life and valor of the kolhapur dynasty. The palace cum museum houses various huge rooms, the art is great , the photos are classic. The central hall / diwankhana is amazing. Also visit the near by small zoo , wher you can see dears and some other animals.

You are allowed to carry your own food and enjoy it in the zoo premises itself. A large variety of fauna is kept for display. The habitat of fauna is well maintained here. Before going on the Zoo we will discuss parking. Parking without receipt and cover. If you are living near by better to go with Ola/Uber. Parking is like damage to your car radiator. Now about the Zoo and animals. There is an online ticket booking scanner there. For plastic bottle you need to deposit 10 rupees per bottle. Snakes are OK. All animals are looks tired because of temperature. Not sufficient trees to lower down temperature. Every animal even visitors are searching for a shadow. Best time to visit is morning and evening. Don't try in the afternoon. Animals are taking rest Bus facility is available. Better to take that than walking

It's a good place to spend the whole day with family and friends (especially when there are kids with you). You can bring food tiffins here and mats too. Make sure that you don't litter plastics inside the zoo. It will violate the rules, and you shall be fined. Zoo is moderately maintained, needs improvement. The animal surroundings should be kept cleaner. Moreover the number of animals is also low. Overall, for a ticket price of Rs 40/- it's worth a visit.

Amazing zoo with a diversity of wildlife. It is place densed with nature and with different types of flora and fauna 🌲🌱🌳🌳 it is also a very safe place for children. There are different routes to see different animals, and such routes have sitting arrangements in between, so that you can take rest. In order to visit the zoo completely, you may need 3-4 hours😇. There is one lake as well, which is beautiful. There are separate washrooms for both gender which are very hygienic. Children could enjoy in this place with their families😊 All in all, it a great place in Pune to spend your weekend by taking break from your sedentary and monotonous lifestyle.

In 1953 the Pune Municipal Corporation created Peshwe Park on about 7 acres (2.8 ha) where Madhavrao Peshwe had established a private menagerie in 1770. Located in the heart of the city at the base of Parvati Hill, this zoo exhibited animals in traditional cages. In 1986, Mr. Neelam Kumar Khaire (the first director of the park), with assistance from the Pune Municipal Corporation, created the Katraj Snake Park on land that was to become the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park. In 1997, in order to create a more modern zoo in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Zoo Authority of India, the municipality selected a site in Katraj and started developing a new zoo. The zoo opened in 1999 as the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park & Wildlife Research Centre, and initially included only the reptile park, sambars, spotted deer, and monkeys. Although it took until 2005, all of the animals from Peshwe Park were eventually moved to the new site, and Peshwe Park was closed. The park also incorporates a rescue centre for injured and orphaned animals. It has run an animal adoption scheme since October 2010.

Visiting Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park was truly amazing! The park is a lush green oasis, home to a diverse range of wildlife. I was captivated by the majestic big cats, playful primates, and colorful avian species. The park's well-maintained enclosures and knowledgeable staff made the experience informative and enjoyable. The highlight was seeing the rare and endangered animals up close, contributing to my appreciation for conservation efforts. The serene atmosphere and well-designed pathways made it a perfect family outing. I can't wait to visit again and support the vital work they do for animal welfare and education. Built centring on the Katraj Lake, Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park had started only with a reptile park and a few species of animals in 1999. Over the years, the enclosures of the zoo have been enriched with almost all the available fauna species of India, including a white tiger, a Bengal tiger, a 13 foot long Cobra and a pair of Asiatic lions. There is an animal orphanage and nursery, as well as adoption facilities at the zoo.

I have visited this place several times. It always gives good and positive vibes to see the wild animals. Since animals are friendly unless you mind your own work . Here there are many animals like Bear, Tiger, white Tiger, elephant, wolf, cheetah and many more. We'll protected and maintained. Snakes park, bird park is also available. Lot of snakes are there, Vulture, peacock are also there. They have bus facility available. You can take bus tour in 40 rs per person. They provide site Sean, and provide sufficient time to see animals Parking is less. Kids are allowed. Complete area is CCTV covered Wednesday closed.

Experiencing zoo with my little one for the first time at Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, it was exhilarating and fun to see the animals my little one adores. My little one had a grand time watching the snakes and crocodile and alligator and turtles and tortoise and elephant and deer and white tiger and Bengal tiger and leopard and bison and sloth bear and wolf and black buck..... Loved the experience Special thanks to the park management to provide services like battery operated vehicle for zoo tour, operator of the vehicle was courteous and considerate to brief us about the zoo animals and attractions.

Best weekend day spend with kids and nature. Kids enjoyed through out the day even though it was tiring. Journey begins with snakes, turtle and other lizard or caged animals. Lot of animal and bird species, you can watch here. Animals are kept in specious surrounding areas with lot of greenary. You can see volchar, egal peacock to small birds. Wild animals like sambar, fox, elephant tigar black buck and small size crocodile. Cemented walking track and observation centers are made along with benches and covered rest area. This was really helpful specially with kids. They also have golf cart like vehicle available which we didn't opt for. There was queue and waiting for it. Ideally if they increase frequency then it will be really helpful. Food facility is not available inside so need manage it out. Cooling water outlets are available. 4 wheel Parking was issue due to spce crunch. We used the pay and park just opposite to park. Lot of road side food stalls available out side for quick bite. Overall a day spend well with kids who enjoyed the site if wild animals and birds. Must visit.

Small but totally worth it. Saw some really huge snakes. Saw both white tiger and yellow tiger roaming playing unlike seeing them sleeping in most of the zoos. Even the leopards were running around. Loved it. Slightly lesser birds in zoo.

Amazing place in man-made natural habitat for animals. Good experience watching animals and birds etc. One recommended of going with elders is to get the tram/bus tickets inside the zoo since it's quite far from one end to another walking. Must visit !!!

Parking space is limited, use public transport or auto. A minimum of 3 hours is required for viewing. Note that eatables are not available inside, carry food and water. Cap and shades are a must. Be ready for a long walk. There is safari van available however it's on certain timings and limited seats are available.

I had planned well after reading the reviews here. The visit was on Saturday, around 12.30 pm. I used cab service due to issues with car parking. To book tickets, I scanned the QR code mentioned on the display board and got a hassle-free, no-wait entry. The cab service is not available from 12pm to 2pm. Therefore, we decided to explore by walking with two 3-year-old kids. I started with a tiger instead of a snake and ended up seeing a lion. After reaching back to the starting point, we did not went to the opposite side to watch snakes, etc., as the kids were tired. The overall experience was very good. The area is well maintained and clean, and people were not seen littering anywhere. There are no good food options near the entry. So, plan accordingly. Memorable moments: the lion roaring, the foxes playing, the blackbucks enjoying themselves, and the tiger drinking water. Recommend visit time: Morning till 12pm and 2pm till closing time. A zoological park, often referred to as a zoo, is a curated space designed to house and exhibit a diverse array of wildlife for public education and enjoyment. These parks play a crucial role in conservation efforts, providing a controlled environment for the study and preservation of various species. Zoological parks aim to mimic natural habitats to ensure the well-being of animals while offering visitors a unique opportunity to observe and learn about different species. Beyond entertainment, many modern zoos prioritize education and awareness, fostering a sense of responsibility towards wildlife conservation. By engaging the public with captivating exhibits and educational programs, zoological parks contribute to fostering empathy and understanding for the animal kingdom, encouraging a commitment to the protection of biodiversity.

This Zoological Park is a good outing for a family looking to spend time with kids, taking them to this park is going to be a nice experience. This layout is quite nice, however visiting on Weekends would turn out to be a draining experience. Too crowded on weekends. must visit for kids A very good place to visit with family and kids. Has a number of animals and also a small snake park. The biggest attraction is the king cobra in the snake park. The park is pretty huge and has battery operated cars to go around The sprawling 130-acre (53 ha) zoo is divided into three parts: an animal orphanage, a snake park, and a zoo, and includes the 42-acre (17 ha) Katraj Lake. It is a lovely place to spend a few hours. If you are short of time, you can take a ride in the battery operated mini vehicles which will make the journey a little faster. The gardens are well maintained

My dreams came true when I saw tigers here! The entrance was pretty crowded and hectic, but that’s most places in India anyway, so it’s not a bad thing. The park is well labeled and it’s a nice long walk through nature. It felt safe, too, since I went on my own and could have felt harassed easily.

  • 3/5 Priyanka B. 2 years ago on Google
Our kid had fun, so we enjoyed. But the zoo didn't have many birds, there were many labelled but empty bird sections. They definitely need more animals and a much better maintenance to attract more people. It's a good one-time visit for sure.

  • 4/5 Mahesh A. 2 years ago on Google
Well maintained zoo, can spot many animals and snakes along with some reptiles. Main attraction is lion, tiger, king Kobra, etc. Wednesday closed. Need approximately 2-3 hours to explore if you are with kids.

The Rajiv gandhi zoological park was fantastic! A diverse collection of animals in well-maintained enclosures. Perfect for families and animal lovers. The main attraction of the zoo is undoubtedly the reptile section. Whether you're fascinated by snakes, lizards, or turtles, this section is a must-visit for any reptile enthusiast.

Quite a large place, long walking inside the zoo, you need atleast 3-4 hours to cover. Sarpodyan (snake park) is inside the zoo. Good for nature lovers. If you have shortage of time you may skip this place.

Park dont have parking facility. Nearby paid parking is available byt its somewhat limited and its difficult to park the car specially on weekends. Parking charges are 30 rs. Diverse Wildlife can be seen here and the park is quite big so bringing friends and families along with kids is ideal as well. The navigation inside the parks can be improved as it is a big park so directions at every corner can be helpful as most of the park is under construction/renovation.

It is not that good Leopard, white tiger and tiger is there But lake is not open and looking dry from far A lot of Walking is there but animals cages are too far... Great place to spend time with family and kids. Carry cash no online payment for tickets. I was surprised. Modiji is giving Digital india ka nara and this people accept cash. -Carry own water. -Do not take election ride. U will miss out many things. They will stop at 2,3 points only. Main attraction - White Bengal Tiger. And elephant Food- - No good options available inside. You can carry your own food. They don't allow plastic bags. They will transfer your food in paper bags and then they will allow. - outside near compound walls, food is available but just normal vadapav, juice, chat. *Parking*- - Available outside road. ( public parking) Pay and park available near by on both sides of road. Animals- -all animals available which are mentioned in pics of zoo, except Jiraf and zebra. If you are lucky you will see tiger, white tiger and elephant. Cage size is very large. So hard to spot those animals. Fun fact - you will think crocodiles are statues 🤣🤣 but they are real. Look for eye movement.

It's a nice place to visit for a one day picnic with the family. It has good places to sit and relax. The number of animals is average but still has a good quantity of different animals to explore. Food is available outside the park and a parking area is also available. Overall a nice weekend place.

The Zoological park is spread over 130 acres of land and has wide range of animals including Tiger, Lion, Elephant, Crocodile, Bear, Leopard, Deer, variety of snakes and many other animals. Ticket for an adult is Rs 40 and for children it is Rs 10. Since the park is really big in size it will take approximately 2 hrs to explore. If you are visiting with elders and children then I would recommend to use internal shuttle service which is electric open mini bus which will cost Rs 40 per person and children's will enjoy the ride too. You can carry outside food also. Drinking water and toilet facility is also available inside.

We visited on Friday it was less crowded, the place was well maintained. At Many places the constructions are in progress. Some cages are empty 😥 They have vehicles facility to over the entire zoo - size of the zoo is quite big, by walk you had to cover ~6 km to view all the places. Special mention to snake park, which is really close and mostly they are in open cage. No plastic bags are allowed inside, even the chips packed in plastic bags are not allowed 🚫.

If you love animals then you must go to the zoo once with your family. The zoo is very big so go after having breakfast because inside you will only get the washroom and drinking water. To go inside, you will have to pay Rs 40 and a separate charge will have to be paid for taking photos with a photography camera. My traveling experience was very good. 🙂
