I did not have such a good experience with a houseboat. No hygiene at all. Cleaning was not done, TV was not working, ACs were not working, only 1 remote for 3 ACs. Bedrooms were not having door locks, all of them were broken. Even the washroom exhaust was broken and not working. The kitchen was the worst. There were cockroaches and lizards in the kitchen. The name of the boat was sight seer. The cook was behaving rudely after we refused to take ayurvedic massage that he recommended(for his commission). Staff don't seem to be helpful or empowered.

Scary experience with possible risk of death by drowning in the filthy backwaters of Kerala. Reckless & irresponsible Indian management & Tourist authorities need to take ruthless action against the negligent operators & put robust safety measures in place to avoid serious accidents & tragedy as has regularly happened elsewhere in Mother India !

Not worth the experience at all. 12 pm check in and 9 am check out. The house boats were dirty. Didn't seem to have been cleaned for months. Rooms were filled with cobwebs. We actually had to ask them to sweep the room as soon as we arrived. Bathrooms are dirtier. Only cold water is available and the water in the taps is dirty. Depending on the option you choose, use of AC could be restricted. They take you around the river on day 1 till 5:30 pm and then dock at the start point overnight. Next day they take you on another round of the lake at 8 am and drop off at 9 am. Food served is decent home cooked. TV was there but wasn't working. When docked there were a lot of huge mosquitoes. Staff don't seem to be helpful or empowered.

The air conditioner was on when we got on the boat and the general experience was excellent. Food was very good and the service was awesome.

House boat on the backwaters is one of its kinds but I feel this was a real waste of one day. Although we were impressed with the boat - very spacious and comfortable houseboat. It was a single bedroom premium houseboat with full time AC in bedroom and dining area which was working fine. The bedroom was neat and fairly comfortable, of course this isn't a hotel, so the toilets and showers were a little basic but clean. There was no upper deck on the houseboat. We had vegetarian food and it was superb and delicious, especially the dal which we had in dinner…just yummy! We were a little disappointed with the limited time spent cruising. Check in time is 12 noon and we reached there by 12.30. After completing certain formalities we board the boat around 1 p.m. After 20-25 minutes it stops for 1 and half hours for lunch. On our request they started the boat 15 minutes before that is around 2.45 p.m. and we then moored up at 5.20pm for the night. This was the worst part as we felt that we were in a parking lot! There was houseboat both the sides and no view at all. In the morning the ride started at 8.50 am and finished at 9.00 am (10 min. ride). My other disappointment was the traffic of houseboats in the lake/backwaters. It was not peaceful and serene. There were houseboats everywhere with the diesel smell and fumes. Though we enjoyed our cruise on the backwaters but I feel the better option is to take some 4-5 hours day cruise and stay at any good hotel or resort.

First time I was trying the House boat and it's (lakeland cruise ) a best option we have choosen. Its a great experience , it's located in main area and easily accessible. Parking facility is also available. Food and the Boat ride was great. Also the rate is less when compared to other house boats. Around 5.30pm the boat will be stopped and Nearby Alappuzha beach is there evening time we can go and spend some time there.

Stayed in a private Houseboat for a night during our vacation in Kerala.Houseboats looks beautiful from outside only but it's upsetting when you go inside.Rooms are in bad patch , bed and washroom is stinky . Hygiene is definitely a concern over . Food served is only well mentioning and good . Morning Cruise will give you a good view . Overall Alleppey is overhyped place in Kerala , not worth spending whooping money in Houseboats , better stay in Hotels in the banks of Lake .

Liked the exclusive cruise ride in backwaters. We sat on the deck, enjoyed the backwaters for full two hours followed by simple but tasty lunch served to us by the cruise owner.

We booked a private deluxe house boat and it was too dirty. There were lizards everywhere around 20-25 lizards in just 3 rooms and washrooms. Lots of cobwebs in the bedrooms and washrooms. Furniture was very old and wobbly. The whole boat needs a renovation. The only thing was the food and the staff. Their service was awesome. But the overall experience was very very bad. I would not recommend this to anyone. Its a waste of money and time and moreover your holiday will be spoiled.

Badly maintained house boat We were booked under premium stay house boat between the 3 of us at check in we were given one small room and asked to share the room. Aircon too does not work, though the food was good. Over all bad experience for the price paid. (20000 for a night inclusive of meal for 3 people) Best not to book for stay just enjoy boat ride with food and stay at hotel.

It was a Great Trip with Family Member's as Our Vacation Trip, We All Enjoyed the Ride and loved it, The Day was Pleasant and we loved the Alleppey Lake Drive in of 6 Hours from 11.30a.m to 5.30p.m with lots of Fun and Tasty Food Served by the Lakeland Cruises Boat Service of Non-vegetarian food.

The boat we had was deluxe A/c. don't get mistaken, deluxe is the lowest in terms of the luxury. We had a below-standard boat with disfunctioning A/C, low cleanliness and very dirty bathrooms. A/C was only allowed to be used between 9PM -6AM and the temperature never went below 29C. We will not choose this boat agency next time. There are many other better ones. Not value for money. Only positive was that two people on board did their best to serve.

Houseboat is an amazing experience. I suggests every one should try once in lifetime. We stayed one night in the Houseboat. Lake land is customer friendly houseboat provider. They have all type houseboats such and. Normal and luxury.

Went for a day trip with Lakeland cruises in Alleppey with 5 pax. It is located near the bridge and is easily accessible by car. The cruise was well maintained with decent rooms and working equipments. Meals were traditional and included both veg and non veg. The only downside was the quantity served was less for 5 people and it could have been better. Weather was good as we visited in January. The view on the lake is truly mesmerising. Would love to visit again.

Very good food. Friendly staff. Beautiful views. If you have any food restrictions please let them know ahead of time. They were very good to have food that worked with my requests. Cost of the trip was very affordable. The boat is close to 7-8 years old and its age shows. Getting the sound system to play on Bluetooth took some effort. There is no speakers on the top deck. The air conditioner was not working. Although we were fine without it, it would have been nice to cool down if we really wanted to.

The best Allepey experience that you can get. All meals are included and cooked on the boat. The boat tours the backwaters during the day and is parked near a village at night. Good service and beautiful views during the day made my trip a memorable one. The backwaters were extremely clean and windy. You find local fishermen fishing in the morning.

Great experience... Ambience and Food was awesome. Boat was fully covered. If you are planning to travel then make sure you agree with them in advance for AC to be running all the time or else they will just switch on AC in night when the boat is parked. Only problem was the boat driver, who was unruly. He was demanding Rs 750 for auto ride to Alleppey beach which is very near. He was demanding for almost everything.

We booked one of their 3 bedroom houseboat for 29th April for an overnight cruise. We were disappointed. They said they will give paneer or thooran in the dinner for vegetarian people but they haven't provided that and when we asked them, they said they can't cook less than 3 people though I have told them there will be 2 vegetarians two days back. We told them we will be leaving in the morning around 8.30 because of the train timings and they didn't mention anything about the morning cruise and we couldn't have that one. There were two people on the boat, both of them were not cooperative at all. During booking i asked whether there will be any arrangements for fishing, they said that there are fishing hooks on the boat but when we asked during the cruise they said they don't have. They didn't anchor near any toddy shop as they mentioned. If you book here don't expect too much.
