Main Issue: Heating! No climate control. Visited in June where the temperature can easily reach minus 5 degrees celsius at night. There is no climate control, and you have 2 options. Option 1 keep fan heating on ( room can overheat ), Option 2 no heating (room can get to zero given the large glass windows). Every room has the same issue. The hotel is very old and really needs a climate control option given their 5 star rating. Furthermore the communal areas in the hotel were freezing. Everyone was wearing their coats inside. Location is great, the food was fine. Hotel Staff: Waiters and Reception staff great! Hotel Tour Operator : Avoid ! overpriced and incorrectly advertised. Was sold a 3h30 tour to Urus Islands. We were back at the hotel in 2h15. Furthermore they mentioned that tours could only leave before 9am, yet upon our return we saw our guide leaving with another group for the same tour after lunch. Amenities: We ran out of tooth paste, and when we asked for some, the hotel had none.

Cramped rooms that need sprucing. Location is excellent with a great view of Titicaca. The chain still uses sealed toiletries and unnecessary plastic packaging. We stayed at 8 different hotels during our trip and this was the only chain that didn't use refillable toiletries. Hopefully they will make the change soon to help the delicate environment

GHL Hotel Puno, the best hotel in the city, provided us with an exceptional experience during our honeymoon trip. The hotel’s great service and easy communication via WhatsApp made our stay convenient. Despite the aged interior, the spotless cleanliness and the remarkably comfortable bed enhanced our comfort. Additionally, while the natural lake smell lingered outside, it didn’t affect the delightful atmosphere within the hotel. Furthermore, its gentle 10-minute drive from the city center was convenient, and the standard 5-star Peruvian breakfast was a delightful addition to our mornings. Overall, our 2 night honeymoon stay at GHL Hotel Puno was both romantic and enjoyable, creating beautiful memories for us to cherish.

Facility wise, it is the best hotel in Puno. We would stay there again if we were back. We liked: - the view of lake Titicaca bay in the room - breakfast with the view - tasty dinner and fair priced for what it is - excellent service - we heard that there’s sauna but didn’t have time to try We didn’t like: - shower was leaking in the bathroom thus water pressure was low - we booked a two beds room. The beds are too small for our like. Anyone that is above 175 cm might find the beds being very small. Tips: book tours with external agencies. The quote you get from the hotel is 2-3 times as the price in Puno town.

Came here with the family (3 adults, two teens and two kids). The hotel: It is nice but might be time to refurbish. The hotel is a bit outside of the city, which is good for the great lake view but not great for food options. The hotel breakfast is very good (really surprised by their pancakes). I was not a fan of the lunch/dinner options at the hotel restaurant so ate at the hotel bar instead which includes mostly sandwiches (recommend the crispy chicken over the hamburger). Internet in the hotel is very reliable. I never lost connection and the speed was very good. The service: It has been spectacular! Everyone of the staff has been very accommodating, friendly, and personable. If you have an opportunity, try to book a tour with Neal. He always has a smile on his face, talks with everyone in the group, and takes the tour at the groups pace. He was very knowledgeable and provided several options based on what we wanted to do. 100% recommend.

The best hotel in Puno, albeit aging. Every room has a calm and wonderful view, and the inside architecture is definitely inspired with wide open spaces, perched above the lake (but still very close to the city for convenience). That being said, it’s showing its age and needs a refurbishing to really qualify as 5 star nowadays. Service wise, the breakfast was good, and the restaurant is decent enough if you don’t feel like leaving the place (definitely more focused on meat/fish). Staff was very kind and accommodating. Overall, while this wasn’t our best stay in Peru, it’s our recommendation for Puno.

I enjoyed my stay in GHL hotel in lago titicaca. It is a super beautiful hotel that located in a very good part of lake and all hotel is fully designed by large windows and in the morning I had a very beautiful sunrise view. The restaurant is good also so you have a good quality of food there. The room service is very well. Thank you for the services.

It is an older hotel but the views are immaculate! Both from the room and the common areas. There is also a small pier from which you can book a tour over the lake. My only problem was with appliances maintenance, my sink was leaking a bit. But otherwise great stay!

This hotel is very nice and comfortable. We loved our stay! The beds and service were wonderful. The breakfast was also wonderful, lots of options and high quality. Dinner at the restaurant was as great. The food is beautiful and the ingredients were quality, but everything was so super salty it was hard to eat. We didn't eat much of it.

Let me start by saying that I have a background in hotel management, am a certified luxury travel consultant and have vacationed in over 50 countries so consider myself well versed on luxury hotels and processes. This hotel is definitely not luxury or deserving of a 5 star category. My mom and I stayed for 3 nights specifically because it was convenient to Lake Titicaca of which was the only reason we were in town. There are other properties that are newer and nicer looking but this one had been established & the reviews we read were promising. Unfortunately, the reviews left out that the property has blackouts several times per night and they do nothing to safeguard their guests or warn them ahead as use of elevator, steps or such could be a hazard upon losing power. We experienced 8 one night alone including while dining in a pitch black restaurant and not one employee said anything but just moved along as usual. Candles would have been a nice gesture at the very least. It also smells like cow manure outside as the cows graze in Lake Titicaca which carries inside the entire hotel and is disgusting. If that is not bad enough, I am writing to warn others that this hotel has a thief within their staff. The 2nd day we were there and headed out on the Lake, my small wristlet was accidently left behind & upon my return was gone. I reported it right away to them after ripping my room apart to confirm it was in fact, missing and not just moved. It was a very small Coach bag, had money in it & the key to my suitcase. I felt violated and have never in all of my years staying in hundreds of hotels, had someone take something of mine. Regardless of their signage that says they are not responsible for things left outside the safe, that does not give the employees there the right to just take stuff they see sitting around the room knowing they won't be caught or penalized. The hotel promised to review the cameras and figure out what happened but instead, they gave me the run around for 2 days finally admitting they did not have any protocol in place for reporting theft and nothing to share with me to prove the employees innocence. I had to insist on them writing up a hotel incident report and even signing it, had to pursue a police report on my own and the manager showed a list of people entering the room several times that day but could not produce details and camera footage and times were missing where we left and returned so completely shady. We also noticed they leave multiple doors to the guest rooms open while cleaning elsewhere which leaves opportunity for anyone to enter. The manager felt more sorry for her housekeeping team that were being accused than me as a guest and basically insinuated that her employees would never do such a thing having only asked them directly and getting a response that they hadn't seen the item in the room. Not sure what else they expected them to say. Whether this was the first time or not that something like this has happened, with no serious investigation on behalf of their guests and no established protocol in place for employee theft, someone will continue to get away with it so be warned should you choose to stay at this place.

I had an extraordinary stay at a hotel that surpassed all my expectations. The staff provided exemplary service, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. The views from the rooms were absolutely breathtaking, with expansive windows showcasing the majestic beauty of Lake Titicaca. The attention to detail in the room's design, along with luxurious amenities, created a haven of relaxation. The dining experience was exceptional, with talented chef creating delectable dishes and attentive waitstaff providing impeccable service. This hotel offers a remarkable retreat with unparalleled service and awe-inspiring vistas. I highly recommend it for an unforgettable experience.

we stayed in this hotel while we were visiting Peru. Our experience was amazing. The hotel is incredible, well placed surrounded by the nature with an amazing view on the lake and on the city of Puno. The staff is professional and always ready to help you with anything you need. They offer a lot of services to the guests (laundry, service room, ecc.. you can find the complete list on the website). There is also the possibility to have an Apero organized at their fireplace. You have to book it in advance at the reception since it is going to be organized privately just for you. It is a bit expensive (50usd/person) but it's worth it. You'll enjoy wine and food while looking at the sunset on the city. If you plan to stay at this hotel, you must do it. Check out my photos to stay speachless.

I just loved staying at this hotel. They really made their best to make us comfortable. The view to the lake from the room was amazing! Watching the sunset and the sunrise was a wonderful experience. They kindly upgraded our room to a suite, and kindly helped me organize a surprise for my husband's birthday. The food was really good, both for room service and at the restaurant (we really enjoyed the lamb). Our tour in canoe in the lake was wonderful, our guide made sure we were safe and enjoying our tour at the same time. We really felt pampered there, definitely going back for some extra relaxing time :)

Hotel lobby is good and spacious. Rooms are a bit dark and dated. Could do with upgrade. Location of hotel is awesome,so they should update and utilize the location as a selling point

First time I am ever letting a review on Google because it really deserves it. This hotel is a SCAM. Definitely worth a 3 stars and not a 5 stars at all ! Only positive point is indeed the lake view. Services are non existent. When arriving at the hotel, we get noticed that the SPA, the pool and the gym are closed because they are “under renovation”. Rooms (which are supposed to be “superior suites”) are small and hygiene is kept to a bare minimum. Furthermore, because of the simple glazed windows, temperature inside the room is way too cold! The hotel itself is super old and stuck in the 70s. Needs a massive renovation ASAP. Last but not least, the restaurant is the worst part. We booked at table for dinner and when arriving at the time of our reservation, we are being told that it has been given to someone else. The staff is giving us another table close to a BIG table booked for a BIG group. When asking for a quieter table, the staff is telling us that the big table is booked for the morning, not at night. It was obviously a lie, as minutes after, the big noisy & drunk group came. When ordering food, half of the dishes we wanted were not available. Same applies for the wines. The few available dishes served were of very lame quality, definitely not worth a 5 stars hotel restaurant. They were cold, tasteless and it took more than 1 hour to serve 3 starters. I'm weighing my words: it was the worst Ceviche and worst Quinoa salad we ever tasted during our stay in Peru. I’m not even mentioning the Octopus dish. We had to cancel the rest of the order as it was obviously overpriced for what it was, and we were scared of being sick the day after ! During our stay in Peru, we’ve been to many 5 stars hotels in Lima, Arequipa, Colca, Cuzco, the sacred Valley and even Amazonia… all worth 5 stars, except this one in Puno which is a scam. As you understand, I would definitely not recommend. Don’t lose your money for the lake view only.

Very satisfied with our stay here when in Titikaka lake. It’s close to city center, train station and also the amazing lake. Thanks to Giovanni we got our private tour booked. Cuisine is good with lovely lake view. My partner got high altitude sickness and they helped to provide the tea, and the oxygen . Thanks again for everything especially we were in a rush for all XD. Also thanks the tour guide William, very knowledgeable and friendly and kind.

Nice lake view, terrible canteen service. I ordered steak with my friends, there were 3 steaks, we have 7 people totally. Finally I get my food one hour after 5 finished and left. We pushed again and again, but the waiter didn't know what to do. He confirmed what we ordered, but delay too much. I requested the general manager to come and explain, but no response.

Room are nice, Jacuzzi, spa,... is good but not big, we was not too many but I can imagine that can be complicated if hĂ´tel is full. We try the Bar and it was also a good place. Breakfast is top. ( funny but the hotel is accessible by taxi and also boat :p )

Great location with an amazing view. Tasty food. Good service. Close to Puno but for the centre you have to walk 3km or to use a taxi. Very heavy and corpulent cover, noisy ventilation, entry card to the room inactive in the middle of our stay. There are Alpacas in the area đź‘Ť

Great hotel with excellent views. It is a rather classic hotel built in a small peninsula in Titicaca lake, so all rooms have an awesome view; you wake up and see the beautiful lake. The staff is quite polite and helpful, they even have oxygen tanks (VERY useful for altitude sickness) they can take to your room. Don't miss the viewpoint behind the bar. Food in the restaurant is good, but rather expensive.

Nice enough place. Kind of dated on the outside but I thought the inside was nice and the location and grounds are pretty. The rooms are pretty good and all have nice views. Beds and tvs are new but the furniture, carpet, and drapes all desperately need updating. The shower was just OK, honestly I was expecting more from a higher end hotel. Water pressure was just OK but the main problem was the shower only gets warm and not hot. Towels were old and worn out. Also, the heat in the rooms works but only at a glacial pace so the room was always chilly, which makes the shower feel even colder. Breakfast has potential but most dishes have way too much oil/butter. The scrambled eggs for example were consistently disgusting because there were WAY too creamy/oily.

It's a good hotel, but a little old fashioned style. Looks like the 80s... But service, food and rooms are great.

The view to Titicaca Lake is astonishing. Our room was at 4th floor and faced East, so we woke up at 4:50 and waited for the sunrise. Breakfast is sufficient comparing our past experience. Friendly service that every staff spoke fluent English. The scent of their body wash and body lotion were good with light flowery smell.

Lovely hotel with breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca from the lobby and most rooms. I didn’t even have to get out of bed to see the sunrise. Walking paths with views of the lake and llamas that stroll the property make this a pleasant place to stay.

Our view of the lake from the 3rd floor was breathtaking. Overall a wonderful stay with comfortable beds, a delicious restaurant (we had dinner and breakfast here), and very friendly staff that can also speak English perfectly (much appreciated for these tired travelers). There’s also a dock within walking distance that makes lake tours very easy and accessible. My only complaint was that our walls were paper thin; I could hear conversations in the rooms next to us. But overall, I would definitely stay here again.
