    I'm a guest here. The whole thing is a disaster. The beach is dirty and not good, they were out of towels too. When I went to collect a towel with the card they gave me, a person tried to walk me to the back in a sketchy location claiming he got a towel hidden for me. And another guy was acting like he got a disability trying to touch me to give him money. The restaurant promise is a scam, they make you jump through hoops to get a dinner reservation, and skimp on giving you a reservation. You will most likely not be able to eat at the restaurants.so keep that in mind when booking. Pay extra and take a nicer place that won't be stingy. The lower price comes with lower service and aminities. The buffet is bad. The manager also said I'm allowed only one meal in two days, while in fine print on the booking page it says 4 meals. Also hundreds of scams and people running schemes around the hotel. And aggressive sales people trying to sell you stuff aggressively All the activities are hard and difficult/stressful to access especially for a person who just arrived and trying to relax and have fun They claim to Have a hot tub on the booking page, then they directed me to a normal pool with seats. THIS IS NOT A HOT TUB

    Our Visit on end of July 2021. Food was fresh & tasty. Most of the staff was nice. HOTeL ROOM was bad, shower the water pressure didn’t work. Toilet start to spill water. Bathroom wasn’t so clean. One of our beds the leg was loose, making a broken sound. Nice falconry with Hamaca yet it was very dusty-not clean. We wasted two mornings +more of our 4 days vacation, Dealing & reporting all issues of the room walking back & forth to the front desk & to our room. At the 2Nd night, we requested a room change. We requested an upgrade for all the inconvenience which they approved after so much complaints and back and fort conversations and after we presented pictures with evidence. Beach wasn’t as good - a lot of seaweed. They ran out beach towels very fast and will stop giving them around 5PM. They take good care of the garden. In general they have a lot of large green nice areas. It was very natural some water areas stink as it was similar to a jungle style type of thing. Night shows were average some day good some not so good. I won’t come back to these hotel even if they grant us with the upgrade room which was the privilege category that was nicer but still uncomfortable.

    It's definitely NOT a 5 star hotel. Not even a 4. The private beach is NASTY. literally brown water, smelly. No one was going in the water. I understand this is not the hotel's fault but if you like laying by the beach and enjoy crystal clear water, this is not the place. Food was acceptable. Grounds are very well kept. Buildings and furniture are dated. If you don't speak Spanish you will have a very difficult time communicating. I do speak it and we had no issues but my husband doesn't and he couldn't get anyone to understand what he needed if I wasn't around. A/c units dont work very well. We had 2 of the 5 nights where the temperature in the room was almost 80 degrees F. Staff is friendly for the most part. We decided to look past all of this and still had a good time but make sure you do your research before you book

    The service was amazing, one of a kind. We got everything we needed from the moment we got to the resort until the moment we left. Butler was very kind and competent. He made sure we had great service and enjoyed our time here. Very pleased from the service from him.

    The resort was pretty good! The animation team were always full of energy and very fun. Mata de coco,Ricky,yerri were very kind and always inviting. The hotel and the scenery are beautiful. My room was always very well kept, but my sisters room had no cold water in her room. The Japanese and cowboy restaurant were very good! Would come again.

    Our grandkid Benjamin is coming to GYM every day and getting help and advice from Hector. Benjamin loves every minute he spends in the gym. Hector is doing excellent job and best prove of it is : Benjamin already negotiate with me that next trip to DR will be, because of Hector,to Catalonia Bavaro only Thank you Hector for being real professional

    2/3 of the swimming pool was closed! Fake advertising. Don't book your holiday here. There was still lube on the night stand from the previous guests. Water pressure in the shower is close to non existent. Takes ages to wash out shampoo from your hair (priviliged room). Also temperature goes from freezing to extremely hot in seconds. It's almost dangerous to take a shower... The whole hotel is a big construction site. They start drilling from 8 in the morning, so sleeping late is not an option. If you're looking for a place to relax, this is not it!!!

    This hotel is far from a 5-star. The front Desk is so unorganised, it took over 1.5 hour to get checked in. First we booked 2 rooms, one room is at one end of the resort and the second room at the other end. Had to ask and beg to have a room closer to the other one. Check in total time was over 3 hours. The restaurants say they are full, but when we finally got in, they were totally empty. Cockroaches in our rooms, air conditioning not working well,(we changed rooms at midnight because A/C stopped working, leaking heavily and they could not fix it. - New room had another leaky A/C, we stopped complaining because we found that they have no interest in helping us anymore.) and the accommodations are not up to par as they say unless you upgrade once you get into the resort. Food was good, pool is really good, but no beaches, they are all full of chocolate or should we say sea weed. Beds are really comfortable. Don't drop the soap in the shower, you'll have to get out and pick it up and get back in. LOL Hotel cleaning, OK - sometimes water sometimes new towels and never any hand towels. We also left a tip every morning before leaving for the pool for the day. Not sure if we can recommend this resort to anyone with all the issues we had.

    Do not stay here and just save yourself. Stayed for 10 days, and it was horrible. If it didn’t cost so much to change hotels or fly home, we would have. The food is absolutely horrible. Only buffets for breakfast and lunch. Places are so hot inside the food cannot regulate at a healthy temp. The cheese was melted on the board and birds were flying around all over the food. Make reservations to eat at a restaurant at night, meat is not cooked all the way, EVER, just gross. Food being horrible is an understatement. Room service food is even worse. The tray came with 2 roaches and that was a sight, to say the least. Our room wasn’t cleaned for days. We had to go to front desk to tell them to clean it and to replenish the tissue paper. and still it was just picking up room service plates. Had to go to the front desk to ask for towels and tissue paper as none was in our room, again. This happened several times. Random people coming INTO your room at 10 pm at night. Scared us to death. Spoke to others and it also happened to them. We watched from the theater, a woman walk in and out of our room at 9:30 pm as we were watching a show (our room was at the theater). Our fridge was never restocked, even though we paid for privileged. We had to call several times. It’s just dirty here and room smells like sewage, nothing worked, it is old. I got food poisoning and was in bed for 2 days. The room and beds are dirty, the blanket smelled like dirty feet. We asked for extra towels to lay put on the beds to lay on. I can go on and on, but just save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else. This stay has been an absolute nightmare. We will never be back.

    Amazing resort and the service is so much better! Bartender Leslie at the pure chill out bar was the best bartender in the whole resort! The drinks and her attentiveness is what kept us coming back to the pure chill out bar every night of our stay! She’s the sweetest & her great attitude towards not just us but everyone she encountered was absolutely phenomenal!

    SAVE YOUR MONEY !!! DO NOT STAY HERE! Most importantly !!!!! They do not clean the room as per COVID regulations. I won’t be surprised if I test positive for COVID. let’s start with check in- I had to ask 3 times for someone to bring our luggage up. The room- the moment you walk into the room there was a smell of mold and must. There is no shower curtain and or door to the shower and thus there was water all over the bathroom floor which resulted in me almost falling. I explained this to front desk and they informed me that they will send a rug and put a curtain. Day 2 and I’m still waiting for the rug and curtain. I ended up putting the comforter on the bathroom floor, as to prevent from falling. Overall resort: you have to walk a lot to go anywhere. Pool, lobby and restaurant. The swim up pool bar was closed. People were making lines for drinks and drinks tasted like oversugared juice. You can tell the staff definitely does not want to be here….. I have been to many resorts and this is by far the worst!!! There are more resorts in punta cana, Definitely recommend going to another resort. PS if you decide to stay here, (at your own risk) bring your own pool towel as they run out and then expect you to not be wet when wanting To eat at the buffet. They should really just shut this down. Adding more because it does not stop there, they tried to accommodate me and my guest with dinner reservations so I said hey at least they trying. I get to my room and I call for more sheets, multiple calls (because they didn’t answer) and almost an hr later they bring me sheets. I will add the pic here as to how the sheets arrived 😒😒 don’t know what this is but this is just more proof to what i have mentioned previously.

    I usually don’t leave reviews but after spending so much money at this place it must be said. Honestly, anybody who’s been here and gives it good ratings hasn’t experienced good customer service. It’s sad because it’s a nice property but the food quality is low and drinks are worst yet. The staff has NO desire to work. They forget your drink order, disappear, or take hours. Towel? Forget it, they’re never at the towel stand. Exclusive dining? It’s impossible to get reservations and they’re average. People with stands harass you at the hotel to buy their stuff. It’s borderline aggressive. Not even the Privileged package will save you from this disaster. Save yourself some money and go to Mexico.

    I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this beautiful beach resort!! They had everything we needed. We stayed 4 days and 3 nights. It wasn't enough time to cover every part of this place. The staff was courteous and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I have to find my way back here in the future. 🏖

    Hotel was great beach nice pool fantastic. Food suffers as usual drinks were ok. Not many employees spoke English which was a bit of a problem. The real bummer was letting the locals in on weekend no respect for the travelers took all the towels and chairs and lined up in food so it was debilitating to try to eat or get a chair would not go again

    Beautiful beach and great pools. Pool bar was great. But, we booked and paid for a double room, then when we got there were told they didn’t have any, so they had to bring us an extra bed. Food was horrible. Staff at front desk was rude and not helpful. Definitely would not recommend. They also try to rope you into buying into the place!

    The place is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable.... The service was poor on some occasions... I strongly believe that the resort is understaffed..... The employees were courteous, friendly and respectful ...... Due to the understaffing the room service was very slow and inadequate.... The group that I went with family members had issues with their AC, that refrigerator did not cool, the refreshment of supplies in the room didn't refill frequently you needed to request it and sometimes they never showed up! That checking was a very slow process due to the fact that there was one employee and the second time we needed to go for check-in the lobby was packed and again one employee.... After a while they did increase staffing! I strongly believe there are administration issues..... The pool was clean and beautiful.... The Pavilion for the buffets was great! Plenty of food and drinks!!! The restaurants also were great which we had to RSVP! No problem!!! The workers were very professional and always busy not with the phones or socializing.... doing their jobs! Overall it was a good experience!

    This resort is wonderful. We highly recommend booking directly through the resort website versus a booking website. The staff for kitchen, beach, photography and rooms were all helpful and kind. The rooms seemed to be in limbo of construction for various sections. The beach was well maintained and the grounds gardens, food and pool areas are also well maintained. Book your reservation dinners 24 hours in advance otherwise your only option is the buffets. There was alot of fresh fruit options and fresh coffee! The pool photographers were hilarious! It is very family friendly for an all inclusive resort.

    I have to say overall I enjoyed my trip, food was good. Beach and pool was good. With the rooms, we had two different rooms, same deal. Our first room given wasn’t clean and the replacement room was very suffocated. Air conditioning didn’t work and it smelled very muggy. Didn’t want to complain to the front desk/guest services because they didn’t seem too interested in helping. Which brings me to my next point, getting towels for our rooms was like pulling teeth, room services would tell us a few minutes hours passed and nothing: asked the cleaning crew who sent us back to reception only to hear “it’ll be a few minutes” my trip had been far from over and I fear those towels never came, we showered with what we had. But big shout out to the entertainment team.. great work to you all: Yery.chocolate, Mangansa, Riki, Emanuel, Mata de coco, King Kong, lMindre. Good great, location great. Ambient great. Rooms and service to room could be better.

    Rooms were comfy and lots of room. Staff was great, and location was amazing. This was the most beautiful beach I've ever been too. They do an excellent job of keeping it clean. Weather was perfect, a little more humid than I expected though haha!

    The service was good. The food wasn’t pleasant. Not to happy about it and I am not a picky person about food. They don’t deliver coffee in the morning to your room. There’s not much entertaining at the adult side. Club, bars and entertainment is at the family side of the Hotel. Do not get the romantic Breakfast! It’s just fruit, bread, 3 small pancakes and mimosa. Make sure you confirm your reservation before you arrive as they messed up one of our reservations and had to pay a different price and more expensive. Send an email to request a confirmation of your reservation. The buggy ride with the cenote was a great excursion, if they sell you the yacht excursion don’t expect a super nice yacht it’s more like a catamaran. It’s fun but not what we were told it was going to be. There’s no water to wash your hands so bring wipes.

    First and last time coming here. The experience has been nothing but horrible from day one. The room that they gave me, the pillows were stained. It looked like C U M ( see picture). I called the front desk and they changed us to another room that smelled like sewage water. We complained about this new room and all they said was that they didn’t have any other room to change us. Some of the staffs are super rude. The hotel wouldn’t even offer a courtesy diner or breakfast for all the inconveniences. I would NEVER COME EVER AGAIN. I would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

    Emmanuel with the guys from animation was very helpful in our morning yoga class on the beach. The view was beautiful and the whole experience was very relaxing. The waterobics they do is very fun and energetic. Can’t wait for my next visit.

    I really liked the food and the rooms here! The rooms were really nice! The overhead showers were a dream, though we did have to switch rooms because they gave us a really faulty room! There is also a game room that people ages 10-17 can enjoy and there are 2 games to choose from! 5/5! :)! And Roselyn helped me a lot in the game room too! She is super caring! I hope you enjoy your stay here!

    Catalonia is a very nice place to visit if you don't mind having bad rooms. We didn't have water at night for the first 2 nights we were there. Our AC smelled terrible but we needed it on. Tv didn't work. Fridge didn't work. I have to say the people and the service almost made up for it. The people and service is amazing. All in all it was an amazing experience.

    Hotel is fantastic. All the staff are incredible and ready to help when you or if you need it. You are not short of entertainment here; the Animation staff work tirelessly and commit to their job role. They are full of energy and ready to make fun and happy memories for you. From kid’s entertainment and clubs to adult entertainment by the pool or even on the beach! You name it they do it. Emmanuel is so full of life, he never stops smiling and is a asset to the company.

    Place was very beautiful. Very welcoming. Food was great, different restaurants to choose make reservations to and the main buffets are open without having to make reservations. We stayed at a Villa, absolutely amazing. Wish the infiniti pool was more private, but indeed great to have and will definitely stay again. The only bad thing I would have to say was the beach was completely filled with seaweed, and had a reddish color to the water, I know probably out of the Resorts control, other than that was great!

    I spent 5 nights at the catolonia a few weeks ago. The rooms were nothing special, but not important when you spend so little time in them. The buffet was okay, but definitely recommend getting reservations at the restaurants for dinner every night because the food there was much better. At night, they have different shows/events that were a lot of fun such as a beach party and a circus one night. There was plenty to do during the day as well with paella on the beach for lunch and painting with Janderson! Rikki and Alex, two of the dancers/entertainers also played a huge role in making our vacation a good time. They were so much fun and really kept the crowd alive!

    They take hours to check you in. Check in is at 3:00pm and I stood waiting for over in hour in the heat, while 8 months pregnant and with a daughter + 7 others in my party. They took 20 minutes per person/group at check in with only one worker checking people in at 3pm. NOT OK!

    Long & Detailed! Excuse my spelling... Would have been 5 stars had it not been for the 1st Day. We must say that we will definitely go back and visit the resort. I will give you the great, bad, and awesomeness of our experience. The Best Part: Always take $100 or more in $1 bills for tip money when visiting the DR. Simply because the staff depends on our tips to survive and provide for their families. The Staff Extraordinary.... Hector (Yuca) Julio (Front Desk), Carmen (Bar/Beach/Greeting), Noel (Mikado/Grand Caribe), Zairy (Beach Bar), Miguel (Bar), YanCarlos & Tedy also. Dalliance and Rueben were very accommodating as well. There is one guy that worked in Rodeo that took care of us on a evening that was not going well but can't recall his name at the moment. Food: We ate at the buffets (Yuca was our favorite) due to minimal wild life. Grand Caribe the main buffet well the Birds can be very disrespectful lol but we managed. It would be nice if Catalonia would have a buffet that is totally inside with Air Conditioning and more food variety so we don't have to fight off birds from our table or around us but you will only get that at dinner or maybe on the beach. We had dinner reservations at Rodeo (Steakhouse) Mikado (Japanese), & Toscana (Italian) If we rate by experience & food Toscana and Mikado are a tie; Rodeo was decent food but horrible experience. We had reservations at 830pm, seated by 835pm, drinks by 845pm, someone came to take our order at 922pm. He was new and couldn't give us any information nor advice; he stated he was going to get help but instead went to another table to take their order. The guy who was taking care of our drinks came by and saw what was happening and asked us to give him a moment. By the time he came back we decided to leave the restaurant and go elsewhere. That is when the guy came along and pleaded with us to stay so he could take care of us. After some convincing my guy decided to give them another chance. By this time it was 945pm and our food came out very quickly. We then had a decent dinner with this horrible experience. Mikado and Toscana all the food was excellent and the experience superior. Room Accommodations: We stayed 4 nights 5 days.... The 1st 34 hours were not that great. We had a room in the perfect location but it had issues, Privileged Ste 1801 (toilet didn't work properly and wasn't secured to the floor properly, the door was hard to open and close, the blanket in the room appeared to be unclean), the telephone didn't work, the shower kept standing water depth to our ankles when showering. We actually requested assistance 4 times in a 24 hour period with no luck. We had to go out of our room to use the restroom (thankfully one was only a few steps away from our suite) but that was not ok. I had to get up early the next morning and go to front desk and get assistance. We finally got a room upgrade and things were smooth after that. We were finally able to enjoy our stay. Request as many towels, face/wash cloths as you think you might need for your stay because they are slow about getting those to us. Spa We had 50 minute couples massage and the ladies were great. The Spa accommodations were not as expected. The rooms had a curtain to close (no doors), the walls didn't extend to the top so you could hear everything that was going on outside of cubby room you were in. Privacy is minimal. We loved the staff and how this place wasn't too big for us to truly enjoy it. The beach was awesome the pools were nice. Lots of activities to choose from. Now, we loved it so much we decided to join their exclusive travelers club. Luis, Sade, Queen Alex, and last but not least 'G'. When we say they are accommodating we truly mean that with all that is within us. These guys showed us their presentation, plus everything we inquired about. It was never about them but about us the entire time. We will be letting the world know what that experience will be like for us in the near future.

    Service is extremely SLOW! Rooms are dated. It just looks like a basic motel. Ana at the from desk told us we had to wait for our room… Check in is at 3pm. At 4pm I see Ana checking another couple in… I complained & she finally got us checked in after we waited an hour. We will NOT BE BACK.

    We stayed next door on the adults-only side but dined and explored on this side. Great shops - coffee shop was awesome. The pizza by the family pool was terrific! Great evening entertainment too.

    The hotel is very good, The entertainment staff interact with the customers through the day and get them involved. Jose is a very good entertainer, interacts with you from morning till night & makes sure you are okay and know what’s happening through the day very friendly and a funny person. The bar staff are friendly and serve you very fast

    The animation team are incredible. Alvani and andreina are the best in the whole team. They took the time to speak to us every day and got is involved in activities. They were really Fun at night making it a really good atmosphere too. They are great representatives for the hotel! Couldn’t have asked for better people to meet on our holiday

    I would recommend the Hard Rock or Riu Palace over this destination. I have had great experiences there. Overall my experience at this resort has not been good. Hot water? No. Water pressure? No! Activities are spread all over the place so it’s hard to anticipate what is going on within the resort….Thirsty? Get in line for a while. Do you want a hotel that looks like the photos? Not here 🙈 Honestly the list goes on and on but ultimately the other resorts in the surrounding areas are much better. This is an honest review.

    There was a bartender named Leslie at the Pure Chill Out Bar that was absolutely AMAZING! She was the highlight of my trip and made every night i stayed at the hotel memorable and the best! If you're staying at Catalonia Bavaro Hotel definetly stop by to say hello she was the BEST!

    We stayed August 5-12. The room needed a deep cleaning. The bottom of the toilet had hair, dust and yuck on it. The curtains were torn. The food was less than stellar. Most of the time it tasted like it came out of the box. Most of the servers only spoke Spanish. Limited selection of alcohol and would only make the drinks listed on their small drink menu. Will not return to this resort. I need to make the reader aware this was on the Adult Only side. Apparently the family side is better.

    Leslie at the Pure Chill Out Bar and Issac at the main lobby bar are the best bar tenders in the entire resort! Crystal at guest services worked hard to try to solve our many, many issues but besides this the rest of the staff tended to be careless about bugs in one of our rooms and rain coming through the roof of the other. If it wasn’t for them we would have hated this place completely.

    Carolina (pretty blue eyes) was fantastic… kind…very accommodating!!!!!! She made us feel at home…wonderful person! 💕💕 Yani Ortiz was also extremely kind…wonderful person also!!!! Had great experiences with Bellhops were also wonderful! Had a lot of laughs…conversations… each and everyone here went over and above to make us feel special 😘

    Our holiday here was absolutely incredible. The staff here are amazing and super attentive and friendly, going above and beyond to make your holiday the best it can be. Kenia at the buffet, in particular greeted us every morning and was wonderful. The views are beautiful and the beach is too. The pictures online don’t do it justice. Would definitely come back and recommend to everyone.

    Staff/animation team was amazing! Very friendly and easy to talk to. Mata de coco was and Miguel were phenomenal. Beautiful resort and very nice pool. Japanese restaurant was our favorite. Thank you Catalonia for a great spring break!

    Staff is amazing throughout the resort. Food is great. Everyone working here makes you feel very welcome and treat you and make you feel like family. Jairo is a new staff member and is excellent at his job and very friendly.

    Catalonia royal Bravaro adults only The room is not as described. It was a junior deluxe privileged suite. Very dated, overlooked a service road with   buggy carts going up and down all day long. Water pressure is very poor. Poorly placed electric points. No points next to bed. Noisy ac and fan. The fan switch was too far from the bed which meant you either had to get out of bed to operate it or sit up in bed and stretch out a long way! No full size mirror. Could not use the bath tub as it did not retain water.  Bad leak in the bathroom and took endless trips to reception before l got a change of room. No fresh  oranges or fresh orange juice. Food generally over cooked.. Expecting more for the price charged. Fridge not restocked once. Not enough shade areas around pools. Outside main bar area has ridiculously uncomfortable seating areas. Unable to swim in the sea for three days due to seaweed. This was not efficiently cleared away by staff. It was left on the waters edge to just get swept back into the sea. Pool side service didn't come round much. Did not rate this hotel as 5star. Would not return here. Stayed at another hotel for our previous week which was much cheaper and far superior all round.
