Super fresh seafood, awesome views and music. Service was great, very casual but quality ceviche. :) :)

I asked for vegetables instead of patacones and rice and my Camarones were wonderful. Staff very attentive and sweet. Called me a taxi even tho I had walked - didn't want to walk back to my Airbnb since it was dark and I was unsure. They were all very good. Older female, travelling alone and always felt safe.

El Codigo Beach Restaurant is my first choice when visiting Puntarenas, beachfront laid back atmosphere. Waiters treat you like family ,always with a smile and great service. The food is second to none, Marlin filet with seafood mix in a homemade scampi sauce is awesome, lots of flavor and perfect balance, we also had the Shrimp canastas( shrimp filled tostones) was awesome too, the combination of fried plantains with shrimp scampi is perfect. Do not leave Puntarenas without visiting this place.

Really delicious seafood, excellent cocktails, generous portions, attentive service, reasonable prices, right on the beach. Can’t ask for more.

Great food, friendly service and incredible view! Prices are standard, definitely worth it. No dedicated parking lot, but you can just park on the street outside.

Service was very slow, it took 40 minutes for my salad to arrive. The vegetables in the salad were chopped into huge, awkward pieces and there was very little variety. The shrimps used in the salad were small, greasy and overcooked, and did not by any means complement the salad. The canned mushrooms included in the salad were a mismatched mistake for sure, I thought, and the dish was not properly seasoned. Quite expensive too. A disappointing experience this time around; a shame too, last year I had come and had had the fried calamari which was delicious.

Has a lot of potential, unfortunately, rather unexploited, location is very nice, however management seems to be unaware that good ingredients do make a difference.
