Highly recommend a 3 to 4 day unwind at the Manan homestay. Cutoff from the world (mobile and idiot box) focus shifts to the quiet and the calm. Relax with your friends and loved ones at this lovely farm homestay run by Bharath and Yamuna. The chef here is fantastic, he'll delight you with his culinary expertise. Local dishes are of course the focus here. You'll not find the need to leave the farm for anything really. The rooms are cozy and really cool even on a hot day, thanks to Bharath's ingenious use of laterite blocks for construction. (We visited in March, it was hot around the region) We had a blast here, took my parents with me and we got that much needed family time. Parents are still talking about it. Definitely going back here post monsoon. Pro tip - wake up early and explore the area.

Perfect place to relax with nothing but greenery around you. We went around Diwali and escaped the pollution and sound. We felt like we were staying with friends such was the warmth of the hosts. Food was awesoeme too. We definitely plan to go again.

If you want to spend a couple of days doing absolutely nothing and unwind, detach and get your me-time, Manan is perfect for you. Peace, solitude and bliss defines this beautiful homestay in the middle of a coffee plantation, paddy fields and distant forests approximately 7 kms from Gonikoppa Bus Stand. Run by Yamuna and Bharath, this 3-room brick house is next to the host's stunning old style estate villa. The only sound you hear is that of the insects, bees and the numerous birds. Big butterflies and migratory birds are constant companions. Besides all this peace and tranquility is the food. We ended up eating all meals here itself and boy did we do the right thing! The smiling cook (we called him Chetta) has been with the family for 3 decades and his idli-sambhar-chutney breakfast and his different versions of the traditional Coorg style pork were delicious to say the least.
