The food here is excellent. The mutton here is especially of amazing taste and quality. The atmosphere here is decent. Perhaps they purposely keep the environment to target all types of customers. Overall highly recommended.

I had a very bad experience with Dalama restaurant puri . You have to wait for minimum of 45 minutes after ordering your menu . Food quality is absolutely very bad . Price is bit high if you compare with the quality. Waiters are not responsive. Overall I had a very bad experience.

This restaurant is worst restaurant in this world. My family and another family went to this restaurant for dinner when we ordered chapati with some curry then they had given two to three days back old stock raw chapati when i taste it it was like bad taste when I informed them they told me "no sir this is fresh one" i told him you try my chapati they you can feel the taste they didn't realise that and continuously telling lie. I told them call to your manager he didn't came and after we came out restaurant then he came and told us lie also even that time no ne is trying to taste my chapati because they knew this. Lastly we came out from that restaurant. If google allow me to give negative rating then i will give 100% as much i can give full negative rating. This is waste hotel in this universe i think so. Please close this restaurant and better to open a street food. I think in that street food also you will give old stuck waste food also. Waste Restaurant in my life.....waste waste....If you all want to see my proof the see this images these people are culprit.

This place is supposed to serve good authentic Odiya food, but it disappointed on many accounts- We ordered Chicken Thali, Fish Thali(rohu) and Kadai Paneer, cost of these were 250, 225 and 200 respectively. Taste of each of these were very ordinary and in some oddly spicy. Quantity was less No other curry or fries in the thali other than dalma and mashed potatoes Avoid this place if you are looking for a good odiya food experience.

It's okay to me 😌 very crowded this place is you have to be waiting for your seats to be available πŸ˜“ It's food also did taste much better I felt yes I am hungry and I have no option so I have this πŸ˜… And some of its Air conditions are also not working πŸ˜• Literally me and my mom waited so much time and after that when we found seats there AC is not in working condition. Even we're starving but we didn't find anything taste in foods. More interesting it was 2:30 they weren't there special thalis πŸ˜…

I had big expectation out of Dalma restaurants. The one we had in Kolkata in Sector V was one of the victims of pandemic and shut their shop. The taste in that restaurant was superb. And, I thought that it would be far better in Odisha considering that it is Odia food chain. But I was wrong. We ordered different thalis - Fish Thali, Chicken Thali, Mutton Thali, Pakhal Bhat etc. The condiments of the thalis like Dalma, Badi Chura, Sak Bhaja, Alu Chokha etc. all are simply bland and tasteless. I could not believe that they ended up messing up the taste of Dalma. It seems that post pandemic, possibly the kitchen has went through lot of changes as well. I would not recommend a visit. There are several other good places in Puri that specializes in Odia cuisine.

This is a restaurant chain which serves authentic odiya food. The menu has both veg and non veg dishes. The food is very good. The portion size is also large. The service is quick. The ambience is below par. The seats are also not very comfortable. You should definitely visit this restaurant, of your want to just try good odiya food and not looking for great ambience. Pro Tip: Do try out the thalis here!

The food was completely cold and inedible. The bill was around 1300 for 4 people and it was not worth it. Worst experience. Ordering vegetarian food is a mistake here! I don't recommend this place for vegetarian people. Very poor service too.

This hotel is near of Fire station , 2.5 km from Chakra Tirth road and 2km from golden beach or 1km from Lord Jagganath temple. I ate here Pokhar bhat and Veg thali. Pokhar bhat :- This is a Odia cuisine made if rice water, chili, spices . Here they served it with aalo or potato bhindi bhaja, chokha, saag, pickles, salad, and one mixture.the taste of this is simple but filling.this is healthy cooling and good food for lunch in summer days. You will love this if you are Odia otherwise I will suggest to go for this if you are trying to eat basic odia dish . Veg thali:- it consisted rice , bhujia, chhola, curd baigan, saag, chhola( chicpea), Dalma (odia daal), kheer or payasam.iy has a decent taste. Each thali costed me 175 rs. Curd at 60 rs. You can eat other dishes too like mushroom, mix veg etc. Go for this hotel if you want to eat healthy, hygenic, tasty food. Service was best, hygiene and location and entirior was perfect . Like this post if this is helpful for you. Jay Jagannath.

Visit Dalma for authentic Oriya food. The prices are affordable, the staff is friendly. Sea food preparation is authentic, spices can be added/reduced as per wish. Must visit if you wish for a quick odiya meal

A nice restaurant that serves authentic odiya cuisine. I tried the famous Dalma there . I placed order for prawns dalma and asked how many pieces of prawns would be there? They said 10 pcs of prawns. I placed order for it. However when I started eating, I found no prawns. When i asked, they said prawn dalma got finished in the afternoon so we served you veg dalma!!!! πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I mean you got to inform me if something is not available and not change the order on your own without even telling me! Anyways veg dalma was good too but I expect the staff to inform me and take consent about my order. I would have changed my order to pakhali thali instead

One of the top restaurants of Puri serving Traditional odiya food is Dalma. Just awesome. Never expected such excellent ambience, behavior and food at this place. Started our meal with a spicy and juicy bamboo chicken. Then tried the traditional Pakhala with Chattu pora (Mushroom curry). The traditional lentil dish, Dalma, was also tasty. Mahurali beshara was the last item we tried and that was also mouth watering. The food taste, price and presentation was simply special..

Ambience is good. You won't get many options in lunch. They only have some Thali's(rice, dalma, chicken(curry/kassa)/mutton/fish, alu bharta, salad(2 pieces of cucumber & 2 pieces of carrot πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚)) for lunch. I gave 1* because of the taste of chicken kassa. Others are just disgusting. So it seems so expensive(for the quality & quantity of dishes). MRP mentioned in the menu is exclusive of GST. So you've to pay extra.

If you’re in a quest to find authentic Odia cuisine that too, with a fine dining experience, Dalma is the best place to be. I’ve had their signature thali, the Pakhala Thali. Pakhala is a fermented rice dish that tastes sour because of the curd however, having these with various other condiments like Badi Chura, Dalma, Aloo Chokha, Alu bhindi bhaji and seafood just adds a cherry on the top. Alongwith that, I’ve had Chhena Pora too. It’s a very eminent dessert dish here in Odisha, especially in Puri.

Best place to have your meal. Ambience is awesome. Service is outstanding. Regarding cleanliness this is excellent. From the dining area to the washroom area everything is top notch. The big question about food quality I will say it is the best for your family and friends. A must visit restaurant.

Heard a lot about this restaurant in Puri for the oria food.. So on my 2nd day I visited this place for lunch. Restaurant was clean , comfortable seats with AC. Food was not that great as I expected n price was bit high . I tried Pakhala meal ie was new n good. Pata pora mach was bit bitter as small fishes needs proper cleaning before its cooked.. Prawn was average in taste, less in quantity more onions n tomato in that dish, but price was high...

I had Mutton Thali it was ok. I was a bit dissapointed because no papad, chutney or sweet was included in the thali. Special Veg Thali is popular here which they serve only in the afternoon apparently.

There is nothing special about this place. Yes, it's odisha special food but the food is normal. Home cooked food tastes better. So think twice befor paying 250/- for a chicken and 375/- for mutton thali.

  • 4/5 Rajdip R. 9 months ago on Google
It's a good restaurant for veg items but not recommended for the people who seek the non-veg i.e chicken or mutton items. Pakhala Thali and special veg Thali are really good. And one more request to the authority, please try to make the services more timely and customer friendly as the customer needs to call the persons for a spoon and after requesting for an extra lemon it's taking more than 5-6 mins which makes a bad impression for this kind of restaurant.πŸ™‚

Nice spot where we could try some odian typical dishes. Great fish thali, including rohu and khicede. It's more expensive than other similar restaurants in Puri but still worth it.

  • 2/5 Anant D. 9 months ago on Google
I went with my family and ordered Pakhala thali and special thali. First ambience and cleanliness is a big concern. One AC was not working. Preparation was not tasty enough. Even sweet was missing in Pakhala thali. Only Dalma was tasty. It’s not worth visiting this place, try some other place.

Went here to try Authentic Odiya Cuisine, had heard a lot about this Place. The Food was really good, had tried Mutton kassa, Rohi Besara and Crab Tarkari, all of which were great. The Waiters were really friendly and nice, seating was very average but Clean. For the Pricing its totally worth every Penny. And also do try their Plain Paratha and Chakuli.

This place is much hyped, the food is very ordinary. I was the only person when I went at 1:00 PM, Ordered the mutton thali and had to wait as the waiters very busy in talking. The price of Mutton thali is Rs 350+tax and its not at all worth the price. The mutton was very hard.

Dalma is one of the famous name in Odisha. With that name and fame, definitely the standard is missing. The number of staff were less to handle many customers, though once order is taken the serving is fast. Food quality is good, other factors like service and sanity is lacking.
