The owner is very helpful and a thorough gentleman. We had a nice though brief conversation. It's a quiet and peaceful place. Well placed with good connectivity. The caretaker Raja is a nice fellow. He helped us a lot with directions, restaurants and sightseeing related matters. Plan to visit again. NOTE: DON'T BOOK THROUGH OTHER PORTALS. THEY CHARGE TOU MUCH MORE AND HARASS THE OWNER TOO. BOOK DIRECTLY.

Very unprofessional and greedy. We reached late after informing about the late arrival. They did not pick the call or sent the location to me. We waited around the property for around 45mins, 10 of our calls went unanswered. Finally we had to book another place. And then upon asking when he called after almost 3hours he denied to refund the money at all. Update:- for future reference of other visitors, you can contact me any time. I shall have no problem in providing the mail, message and call recording details. Everyone can see the confirmation over the mails and multiple calls which went unanswered several times. Also the phone call recording can make it clear who was rude at that time. As mentioned by the host himself, it was crowded and roads were blocked. Still it was intimated by me over the mails. If we are talking about professions here then being a doctor for several years, i very well understand professionalism and value of another person's time and money. There is something called ethics and humanity beyond everything else.

Location is just a KM away from Shri Jagannath Mandir. Owner Malay ji is very kind and nice supportive person. Room are small but in very good condition. There support staff is very nice to their customers. The price is little high for the solo traveller but overall this is the best place to stay.

After staying 1 day here, my feeling is like, "I went to Jagannath temple darshan from my home in the Puri town". Don't think twice to book this home stay if you want a affordable and near (Jagannath temple) pleasant stay. As I said, its like our home. No one will be there to serve you. If you get bored, you can read books, see TV and relax in common hall area. Best for couple and family

Well this was my worst experience, I booked 2 rooms for me and my family for 1 night. Here are the points why it was hell for us: 1) You don't get room according to the price you pay. 2) Caretaker himself told me that room's prices are lesser when booked offline as he had no idea I've booked rooms offine only, I had talked with the owner and booked the rooms. But anyhow I came to know that owner took extra 400rs. from me. 3) When booking online you'll se standard room listed and area of the room is 107sq.ft. but this is not the truth. Room is barely 70-80sq.ft. with no proper ventilation and it was so much suffocating. For that room you'll have to pay rs.1400. And the other room was quite big for which we paid rs.2300. 4) Talking about the location : temple is 1.3km away from the hotel and sea beach is just 600mtrs. If you want to go to the beach just talk to the catetaker he'll tell you the correct direction, don't just believe google maps as it'll show you the longest route. 4) No complaints regarding hotel staff behavior, he is really a good guy and very helping. Owners behavior is also good. Final comment : Everything is good, but prices are more according to the room. The standard room should be listed as the mallest room. No complaints with behavior of anyone be it staff or owner.

This homestay is very good to stay. Just beside puri hotel, there is a road called gopal ballav road. Distance from puri beach by walk is 10 minutes maximum and by auto or toto is 5 minutes only. Good hospitality. Staffs are very cooperative. Rooms are neat and clean

If you are looking for a home you should be in this place. Remember this is not a hotel .. it is a homestay.. The host Mr. Mishra is just an amazing person. There is a library too where you can spend some time. Both Mandir and beach is 10-12 min walking.

We stayed in Madhusmruti for two days and we had a wonderful stay. The caretaker is also very helpful. They have a sufficient lobby space where we can wait and keep our bags if you reach early. The location is also good, near to the temple and near to the golden beach. I will prefer to stay here when I visit Puri next time.

Pros: near to temple, station and beach Cons: homestay with limited support, you won't even get tea if you wanted in off hrs. No dinner if you missed to tell by 5pm Walkin lounge is a huge oversell, it a living room with sofas

Madhusmruti Homestay is a great economical option for a short trip to Puri. Mr. Mishra - a retired IFS official personally manages bookings and the staff and the stay and service is warm and hospitable. The property is 10 mins away from the temple by a cycle rickshaw. Mr. Mishra recommended restaurants and places to visit - which were worthwhile. We went to Raghurajpur Heritage Village- designated UNESCO site and discovered great Patahchitra art. A shout out to his the staff - Rajendra Raut (Raja) and Neelambu Behra(Neelu) they were super helpful Thanks for a great stay.

Everything is good. Owner Mr Mishra is a true gentleman. caretaker Raja is also very helpful. This place is exactly between Jagganath ji temple and Puri beach. Both are 10 mins walking distance. All types of food joints pure veg Amrutam restaurant, medical shop, hospital, grocery store are nearby. This is a perfect place for 2 to 5 days stay. Calm and quiet. Owner Mr Malay Mishra is doing this business not for money but as a service for devotees.

Property is very nice, owner is very good a gentleman, behavior is very good. Nicely decorated. But problem caretaker very very rude . They dont clean properly. They have given room without cleaning, after check-in they came and clean room and toilet. Most of furniture are dusty untidy.

We had a good stay but a bit of cleanliness will make it an amazing place.

Location is good. Hotel is good value for money. Little claustrophobic room ( standard deluxe room). Quite place. Easy accessibility to beach and temple. Don't expect too much. However for short stays it is good.

The property is a homestay without any dining facilities.....it is a single staff property.....there was no one to clean the rooms and bedsheets were not changed. For the 2 days we stayed..the toilet was not cleaned..... ..visitors are being ripped...we ordered for breakfast from outside.on our arrival..we ordered puri sabji...they charged us 700 bucks for that....the gates are locked , which is fine, but in the morning there was no one to open those until the attendant is called to do so and we had to call the attendent thrice in the morning to get the gates unlocked.....the rooms were not spacious....not worth for money....its a three storeyed property without any lifts and guests living on the 2nd floor are not allowed to use the stairs inside the house....there was a separate staircase outside as if these guests are not entertained....not a feel good property....
