Great food and service. The portions were very generous for the price. I love the beef Pho and summer roll. I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants in London and this is definitely one of the best. Overall, it’s great place to have a quick lunch or dinner. Recommend.

The pho has tasty broth with layers of spices and flavors. Beef is mostly tender. The bowls look tasty too. Love the chili sauce. The spring rolls are plump and generously filled, but I would prefer a thinner and more savory/umami dipping sauce than the thick sweet paste. Service was prompt, although as a large group there was some confusion and missing plates of bean sprouts.

Updated review. Last year I gave 5 start to food, service and atmosphere but I have to adjust after going tonight. The starters were very good but I had a chicken curry which tasted of nothing just very watery and the special rice will was swimming in oil. I was just too polite to say anything so tried to eat as much as possible but I was so disappointed and those two dishes alone were over £30 and I feel it was wasted. Shame really as last time I came it was amazing. Also £55 for two starters a curry and rice is just far too expensive for 1 person.

previously visited the soho branch, the atmosphere and food here are also pretty similar. staff are very friendly and attentive. i ordered a mango salad but after eating about 3/4 of it i realised there was no mango in the salad, i brought this up to the waiter who was very apologetic and explained i had been given a papaya salad by mistake. they automatically removed the salad from the bill. staff were very professional and dealt with this issue promptly. the papaya salad was still delicious though - given i ate most of it before realising the mistake. the broth of the pho as usual is delicious, as well as the summer rolls and salt and pepper squid

What a shame. I order from this place regularly and received what should be identical dishes only one looks great and the other one was served with literal duck fat and skin and tiny pieces of pork belly. Incomparable plates. So disappointed.

An authentic Vietnamese restaurant serving typical Vietnamese cuisine. The beef pho taste not bad but still not comparable to those I try in Paris. Ambience good and service is ok. Overall still on my list for return as finding good Vietnamese in London is not that easy 😜

It was not a good experience. We ordered pho with chicken breast and found bone pieces in it. When asked to the serving staff, they said it was absolutely normal. I don't know what to say further about this place!! For rice curry dish also, it lacked flavours in curry and rice was chewy and uncooked.

I had a starter of braised aubergine that was pleasantly sweetest Jan what I expected. It was very filling considering I had a tofu pho finish after. The pho itself was flavourful and light. The noodles absorbed the flavour of the broth do each bite was simply amazing. I would advise that if you observe a vegetarian/ vegan diet to skip the pho as the broth is made with chicken or beef. I did ask if they had a vegetarian broth but unfortunately not The decor was quite lovely, the lanterns and the artwork made it feel as though you had been invited to someone's home rather than to a restaurant giving it that cosy feel

I absolutely LOVE this place!! Brought the boyfriend here for date night and he really loved it too. Food tastes so authentic, still how I remember it from the last time I came a couple years ago. Delicious flavours, food cooked so we'll and prices are reasonable for the portions. Staff are also friendly and attentive. Service was also very quick even though it was quite full when we arrived! Thanks Cay Tre team!! 💖☺️

Very decent Vietnamese food, coming from a picky Vietnamese myself. However, the food is not 5-star wow and some dishes are a bit salty. Still recommended for a decent Vietnamese fix in London!

I always love coming here. Food is superb and authentic and the lunch deal is fantastic value £15 for 2 courses. Did have to ask 4 times for water however. The aubergine starter is brilliant and the spring bowl was massive. Definitely recommend.

I have been to the Cay Tre in soho but it is my first visit to this old street branch. May be it is a bad timing..it was raining heavy outside. I managed to get the table quickly and seated...and I saw 4 woman's with one small baby keep crying and crying...like Beijing opera. These 4 woman's are non stop gobber...treating the restaurant like FISH MARKET..they dont know how to behave and shouting to each other very loudly rather than speak softly. Later, I saw a few customers started to leave the restaurant..I wonder if they have enough of this Beijing opera show... OMG...the baby keep crying and then loud music started to turn on to the maximum volume...extremely loud like nightclub. it coupling with 4 vocal opera noise..it is so dreadful. .Although the music is so loud but it still doesn't affected these gobbers to stop talking...i noticed the foods is serving on their table...but they still half eating half chatting...like eager to get the foods choking on their throat...For god sake, i just want to quickly finish my meal and get out from this hell place....never again although I have no complaints on their foods. I understand it is not the restaurant fault...but it is a nightmare experience for me.

Would have been a nice experience. I came in before 2 people and a staff member pointed to me that he will just clean the table for me. Another group of 2 came. A different member of staff gave them my table, and the other 2 behind me was also given a table before me. Because 1 and 2 people table are the same, it is annoying that they let this happen. They are clearly not monitoring who was first in line, that didn't even ask. 👎 not sure if I want to be back.

I love Cay Tre and this location is so cute and cosy! Meal is quick, delicious and very friendly staff. I took a client here for a work lunch and it was fantastic. My second time and will definitely be returning!

We were a group of 3 tonight and had a lovely meal at Cay Tre. Food was very tasty and the staff were very helpful when we were undecided on what to order. Kin, Eric and Allison were the staff serving us tonight and they all deserve a special mention on how attentive they were. 5/5

We really have a great time and food here. Cay Tre simply provide one of the best Pho in London. The soup base and the meat is amazing compare to some shops are too salty and meat too dry. If you can eat spicy, the chicken curry is another great choice with plenty of flavour. The staffs were brilliant and friendly from reservation to after dining. May be we were so satisfied after meal, we left one of our bag behind. I called back and the staff kept it safe for me 😊. Will definitely go back whenever I am in London.

After a dinner, three of us splitted our bill. In spite of paying a service charge (which legally we can refuse), the restaurant manager decided that there was 2p missing after splitting the bill and he came to charge us the 2p difference. He hovered around making sure we wouldn’t leave without paying it. It made us feel like criminals. Of course we payed although we could refuse the service charge after what had happened. It was completely without any class or good taste whatsoever. Horrible, humiliating and embarrassing experience. More to them than us obviously. We are definitely anti-recommending the place.

Very good vietnamese in central London. Space is limited, very noisy when busy and service a bit slow, but everyrhing we tasted was very good. Prices are quite reasoble quite satisfied all together. Illustration: vegetarian platter foe 15.5 GBP Labels: 2eat, $$, #vietnamise

Been here many times before when I worked around the area, but that was years ago. My recent visit did not disappoint. Great food at a very reasonable price. I wish it’s around the corner from my new office!

Consistently great food. I admit I struggle a little to pick out new things to try or to understand exactly what I'm ordering, as I'm not as proficient with Vietnamese food as I'd like. Catfish was lovely but just way too many small bones for me, just meant I could enjoy the meal, but that's more my issue with bones than the food.

Very nice pho, wish it had more bean sprouts and vege toppings. The interior is nice and cozy but I feel they over packed the restaurant and we were packed uncomfortably close to the next customer. Average price point.

Stumbled upon Cay Tre after recently moving to the neighbourhood, it has now become one of our favourites. The lunch special is incredibly well priced (12£) and includes a starter and main. Also great option for takeout in the area. The Saigon pork belly stew and grilled aubergine are must tries.

Amazing and authentic Vietnamese dishes. We had original pho, chicken pho, summer rolls, salt & pepper squid and finished with BANANA FRITTERS with coconut ice cream 🤤 best comfort food in a while.

Love the food here. This place is amazing. The summer springrol is made of fresh ingredients and it tastes amazing. The campfire steak is well spiced and served in a spectacular way. Super delicious and a real eye opener. I would recommend this place to everyone who wants quality food.

We enjoyed the meat platter for two 😍 truly some of the best lamb shank I've had. Really nice staff as well.

We were after a later-night dining experience and Kin took care of us straight away. Warm, cozy atmosphere, really generous serving sizes, quick service and although we didn’t have time to try the cocktails looked amazing. Definitely will be back x
