Very bad experience. Nurses very rude. Doctor gave appointment on 20/12. Went there but nurse said is not in the system. Told me I have to call for appointment. My appointment card has doctor’s name with it. Send me to payment counter. The lady at the counter say is my responsibility to call the hospital to confirm the appointment date and time. I told her when I did my payment at the 1st time, another lady told me to come at 5pm on this date. I shown her the appointment card. She told me must have a stamp on it only consider the appointment has made. How do I know need a stamp to confirm the appointment. They did not allow me to see the doctor. I just want to know my blood test result. Because of that I have to postponed my surgery. I only can see this doctor next year. Is a very bad experience to me. I never got this experience in any hospital I went to. I wasted my time to go there. End up get nothing in return. I just want to get my blood test result. Why is this so hard? Now they say is my fault because I did not call to confirm. Why in the first place, the payment counter side did not tell me about this? Say is my responsibility….. I wonder how many patients get this type of experience. I hope UMSC will look into this matter.

First time here. A bit crowded but bearable. A bit busy compared Prince Court, where I regularly go. The service is fast. The consultants are mostly the experts with teaching and clinical experience. The hospital is clean and organized.

Hit like if it helped you. Won't write about hospital. Since i am out patient so will say about out patient only. I just visit doctor at third floor, brain doctor, so far my experience is good. Usually empty in mornings and rush in evenings. For me counter staff is also fine and working no such hectic. Parking you can find inside but it's paid. Expensive place to visit any health consultant, if you could afford you can go. Cafeteria at ground floor. Coffee machines also on ground floor. Washrooms on each floor and clean. Peace

Great doctor. I am thankful for the friendly staff who helped me but overall the hospital's system needs to improve. It doesn't seem fully computed, I saw staff passing over papers by hand to process at the counters. After my appointment, I was directed to multiple counters and had to get one of the staff to write down what to do and where to go so it's clearer for me. I'm fine with it as I'm able to walk and understand what to do but it might not be as easy for the disabled, elderly and families with young children. It's too bureaucratic that it looses human touch and sensitivity. Hope administrators will look into this problem.

Doctor is good but the procedure is very slow. Went to the registration counter without knowing that I have to show the blood test form at the counter. Arrived at 940am and after clarified all is about 10am. I only manage to do de test at 11am due to the delay at the counter and they told me result shall be out around 2 hours. And now it's almost 230pm I have yet to consult the doctor and still waiting.. Please improve the SOP for this. Also, I noticed the counter double charge 2 of the tests which is already cover in the general screening package. Guys, please aware and double triple check in future. Cause i am the one who needs to go to lab for clarification and talk to the counter and ask for refund. This is what the counter admin did which they say need to check and key in the data so I waited 20 mins just to pay.. All the time is wasted on waiting and communicate with them.

The specialist Dr is great. But admin staffs are always borderline rude and slow. Payment always take almost an hour. The medical record department is even worst. Can't be bothered to pick up the phone. Finally when someone actually picked up the phone, she had to be rude. The old Indian lady is the only helpful person in the department.

I went for my baby immunisation on 25/4 u reached at about 10:09am . So I went as usual for registration and pass the standard paper to the level 3 counter. After I pass to the lady name Farida , she told us to go to room seven , normally they will have this standard instructions ‘wait till the number here being call nd yea’. But this time she (farida) said room 7 and pointed to the room. My husband & me asked her 3 times oh prof is in? She pointed again go to room 7. So we pun walk lah direct to the room (thinking raya kot so not many patients). Then we went and knock the door (room 7) , we got a loud yelling from this lady name Nurul ( this is the name she gave me when I asked her) . No sorry no nothing without remorse she just did like she did nothing wrong . This is very disappointing to be serve from a staff from UMSC . We both parents are medical professionals as well . This is totally not acceptable. Hopefully UMSC will improve staffing arrangements to have more sane & courtesy . Don’t work if you think by serving people make you stress. My 2cent advice !

I m very disappointed with the system of client appointment at this hospital. Totally waste of time! 3 times was here, and all times I spent 2 -3 hrs!!! Where doctor see me only for 3-5 min. So much time takes to register, then to wait the appointment (initially the appointment was fixed, but always have to wait). And then to wait to pay for appointment. Second time the doctor was very rude when I asked him about my problem. Then he says “why I have to repeat so many times to you to understand..”. I was really trying to understand that I need that surgery he was suggesting me.

Special Thank You to Prof Chris Chan, Prof Chiu, Prof Shahnaz and Team. They are sooo good and professional. Prof and Team handled my husband well. Husband did his biopsy procedure with Prof. Warded 4 days with insurance. Room 1 single bed located in Menara Timur PPUM. All good nothing to complain. Building of course old but the ward is clean and comfortable. Staff all okey. Food okey. I am satisfied even some said its expensive same as other private hospital. Truly...i dont mind if the building old or other services is bad as long as the Dortors are good. It is okey to try here. Follow up needed for husbands case.

I wish to give TEN stars but I can't. I went to meet Dr. Mukhri Hamdan as I'm TTC since 2020. He never fails to explain to me briefly and clearly about my conditions. The best O&G consultant I've ever met compared to the ones in Thomson and KPJ Damansara. The charge is also lower. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage recently. ( O&G consultant in KPJ Damansara can't explain about persistence eggs I'm having which she referred to as 'not sac, not cyst' things. What a shame!) I went to Dr. Mukhri's clinic the next few days and he instantly knew it. So for me, TEN stars for the consultant. Really an expert in his field.

The highest mammogram and ultrasound charges. I have sent an email one month ago with bills from other hospital no reply from UMSC. Only the report they charged me 50% of the diagnostic Imaging. The customer service told me they will definitely acknowledge my email within 7 working days but now is one month I have not heard from them. So expensive hospital. Not recommended.

Finding a car park is like treasure hunting at Menara Timur. The car park is so dark and is jz a place waiting for mishap. Admission takes forever, when we reach there were only 3 people wanting for admission, took us 1 hour to get admitted. Please take into consideration that people go to hospital bcoz thy need medical assistance. Hope u all will be kind enough to improve your work efficiency

Everything on the website just looks good. Unfortunately a lot of areas need improvement. Made an appointment for my wife for 10.30am a week in advance. But still had to wait 4 HOURS before was able to see the doctor. They make patients pay Rm300-500 deposit for every visit, but yet toilets are not clean and lifts are not working. Now my pregnant wife and every other pregnant lady has to battle 3 flights of stairs to reach level 3 where the appointments are. Seriously disappointing..

Bad customer service. From receptionist all the way to nurses and payment counter, all are not friendly and arrogant. Except receptionists Khairiyah and Nurul Syahirah are exceptionally good. I am giving 1 star due to the specialist/ consultants who are very genuine and good.

Dr Vallikannu is one best thing UMSC had for pregnant ladies. Apart from that the charges is super high compared to other private hospitals. The technology and equipments used is still need to be improved. The facilities is similar to GOV as they are sharing the facilities. There is no Inpatient parking charges so you will be required to excessive parking fees if admitted.

Have been coming here for one year plus for various reasons but I absolutely dread it every time since I would end up waiting for over an hour just to meet my doctor for 5 minutes and then the payment would take over an hour after that. Recently it has gotten so much worse. Doctor asked me to do an MRI for my ankle and they told me to be there an hour early. In the end, I had to wait for over an hour just to be transported to the MRI center. The person at the registration counter at the MRI center was really rude and gave me judgemental looks too. I was then asked to make a follow up appointment to review the MRI scan with my doctor. I tried to make an appointment online through their system but didn't get a response from them then they suddenly called me on the day itself and asked "are you coming for your appointment right now?" when I wasn't notified that my appointment is confirmed so I couldn't make it. I tried making an appointment online again, but didn't get a response through email or call. I tried calling them but was put on hold for over 15 minutes and when I finally got to talk to someone, the call got disconnected.

Made an appointment the previous week for 1.40PM and came to the hospital 30 minutes early just to find ourselves waiting for an extra hour. Nurses were not attentive towards the patients. There was a huge screen that supposedly call your number but was never used at all. We had to try to sit closer to the door to be able to get in sooner. As a patient we deserve to maximize our precious time rather than waiting. What’s the point of making an appointment?

The doctors here are great no doubt. But this hospital has the worst admin staffs in regards to billing and refund. I felt like a beggar just to get a refund of merely RM1k. When i called the hospital regarding my refund, I was asked to come to the hospital so that they can make the process faster but only to be dissapointed when the counter told me that refund cant be issued due to system issue with my billing. Truly a waste of time.

Doctors are good, but reception and admin staff are unpleasant. Long wait despite non-peak time. Some are not competent in English; have to converse with them in BM to give them the details required. I agree with another feedback that says don't come here for procedures. Consultation okay but procedures are done at PPUM facilities. Pay a lot more compared to PPUM to get a faster appointment but the waiting time for the procedure to be done is so long. Not enough details given to prep for the procedure either. Only found out when call to check further about the appointment.

Alhamdulillah. October last year was nightmare for me. I had a very terrible accident and hit by motorcyclist (wrong way) and Can't walk for 5 months and now fully recovered thanks to Dr. Rusdi from orthopaedic traumalogy department who treat me during 16 days being warded in hospital. Thanks also to all nurses who helping me during me being warded. Overhere if you come on weekend is very pack with people. I suggest you to come in weekdays, not so many come during working days. Lastly, overall I'm so satisfied with the treatment that I get from UMSC staff. Once again, thank you so much to Dr. Rusdi and all the team.

My routine with dermatologist in UMSC for eight months was pleasant. Of course, waiting is unavoidable. But the process from A-Z was smooth. Be mindful of the signage they posted especially if renovations are around. Sometimes the counter for payment changed. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Prices are better compared to other professional dermatologists. Note: Prepare cash for the parking although they said TnG can be use. Most of the time, it didn't work. Best to prepare RM1 and RM5 notes.

Thought UMSC will be different from all the private hospital negative culture… but after appointment with 4 Drs/ specialists, I can conclude that UMSC is just another private hospital with much lower standard in facility. Generally the Drs at UMSC are seem to be very busy and not really keen to resolve patient medical problem but just carry out all the standard medical test and check to rule out things within their scope and I still ended up without a solution for my medical condition.

My experience after visited orthopedic - Dr Kwan Mun Keong Deposit payment before seeing the doctor -I was not informed that I need to pay a minimum deposit of RM200 as this is the hospital's SOP to avoid any patient skip making payment after seeing the doctor. Long waiting time -I just don't understand why the nurse still accepts my appointment request even already knew that the queue is quite full on the scheduled consultation day. I got to wait for more than 1 and half hours for my turn. Doctor's attitude -I was the last patient that day when I went in to see the doctor after 4.30pm. The doctor already started to tidy up his stuff and plan to leave work. He was impatient when I explain my conditions to him and try to cut short the consultation session. He talked in a very condescending way as if the patient is illiterate and not exposed to any medical term. Waiting area -The overall environment of the waiting area is quite cramped as the waiting seats are just enough to cater for the patients. Wifi connection also not stable.

Went for fish bone removal. Although need walk here and there for register, consultation, xray, and finally enter ENT clinic for the removal .. everyone was very professional and friendly. Can see everyone is tired with non stop patient but every single doctor + nurse + staff were extremely friendly, polite, patience, professional. Treatment was also 10x cheaper than I expected. Totally didn't not expect it to be that cheap .. In total, register + xray + actual treatment.. =Rm50. Registration (Rm5) Xray (RM15) Fish bone removal (Rm30) Really want to thank the ENT clinic for my treatment...

The billing department is very inefficient and unprofessional. Mistaken that insurance company has given GL then asked customer to pay again due to their mistake. Even though the doctor is really good but not worth the time and money. Will never visit this private hospital again. Worst experience I had so far with private hospital.

Prof Ho from the Oncology Department treats patients as if you’re another statistic. He may be a knowledgeable doctor but he is arrogant and not compassionate towards his patients. He doesn’t like talking and doesn’t bother explaining the diagnosis properly. You have to probe and ask him questions in order to get some idea of it. There’s no right for a doctor to act like that just because he is more well known and has made a name in the industry. Meanwhile the fees are exorbitant with unprofessional service. I rather consult a doctor that cares for their patient wholeheartedly.

Mishandling of Patient by Staff Nurse It is with great dissapointment to see the standards of nursing care at UMSC has gone down the drains. To be honest, many of us go to UMSC because of the esteemed doctors. My family have tolerated enough and ample time was given to them for clarification but until today, it has gone on deaf ears. Hence, I am writing here for the public awareness and what happened should not ever be repeated to another patient. Correspondence did with Puan Zurainawaty Ainz who is the Director of Nursing (DON) whereby no follow up nor a reply from her when questioned. The unfortunate inicident happened to one of my family members who was warded at Orchid Ward located at KKWK. We have adviced numerous times that this patient is also having dementia. But to our despair, nurse Khairah and Suhaima, particularly Khairah ( who also is a team leader) was extremely arrogant, rough and rude to the patient. My niece in actual fact witnessed the inicident the day he was admitted. Nurses should be well trained and care for their patients. But in actual fact, they tied him up for their "screw ups" they did and blames on the patient. Mind you, this is not the first time he was warded but it was the 1st time at Orchid. A real "hell" ward. He was admitted on a catheter issue but instead the nurses mistreated him. Attendants namely Nasuha and Amani was equally useless and did not practice hygiene to the patient. When asked for assistance, one of this attendant practically avoided what was asked and raised her voice to my niece informing the attendant was also busy. When pressing for bed caller, the nurses will practically go to the main counter and switch off their sound. Also when you want to ask the nurse for assistance, they would actually cover their name tags! Instead of checking with the respective Doctor, the staff nurse who was on duty on 22/6/21 night shift called an MO, Mohd Muzakkir bin Zul Wizaratin who pricked the patient for an IV THREE TIMES which the last one he did was between the fingers!! Seriously???!!! Despite so much of drama happening, we asked for the Sister of the ward and this what amazes me. Sister Nabilah Zakaria whom she herself gave her full name "indirectly challenged" my niece and denied not knowing any of these incidents. But to our suprise she can convey message to Suhaima to inform my niece on some medication. Many of a times, my niece left messages to the Sister but gave us the ignorance treatment. DON, are you just providing lip service? Is UMSC really vetting thru their qualification? Who suffers at the end? Do you know we are all having sleepness nights, so much of worry and we cannot even do our daily chores and job? You cannot even imagine what we are going thru here now! A person who has dementia should be treated with dignity as with any normal human being. Nurses should understand about this sickness and the impairment associated with it helps us to be more empathetic in our communication. The doctors are far much better off. So much of patience and they show their commitment to their patients. UMSC should take prompt actions in emphasizing the importance of good nurses and their services and be very mindful of upholding these ethics of this profession at all times. UMSC cannot sail on the credentials of their good doctors only.

Doctors are great and you feel safe. But the payment system is really sick. Just bring my wife for TT injection and waited 3 hours to pay RM 40 for that Jab. UMSC Ward 10th floor should operate in best practice. It is very frustrating in this era to wait likw this. Hope Management take this feedback serious and change.

From my first call to make an appointment with an orthopaedic, to my arrival at the front counter then registration, to consulting Dr Khoo, to the pharmacy, then hopping onto an UMSC shuttle bus to Menara Selatan, then with Cik Norihan of the Splint making department ...you guys are awesome. You all have certainly put back the human touch which is very lacking when stepping into hospitals these days.

Let me start with management. Before coming, you have to register online and book your slot. It will take around 1-2 weeks to get appointment with single specialist. You book time, date and then come and wait for 3-4 hours to come in!!!! It is too cold inside, seems we are penguins in Antarctica!!! Hey, hello, it is hospital and people coming here are 90% ill, sick and they dont need such cold ventilation. You have to wait your random turn, even though you booked your time. Such waste of time. Coming to the quality of service. I am so frustrated, so broken. We go to private hospital, to see specialist, we pay high cost per each visit and come out with nothing. We went there with complaints for my child's development to dr Fong. He is useless person! Can't do anything except referring to other doctors. Why are you here then? Neurologist should do his own work, must do treatment, when it is needed. He kept saying there is no treatment. In the century we are living in there is cure to everything except death! So irresponsible, so careless, so annoying. We visited him 2 times with 6 months difference with no difference in my child's development! With the hope to get answer to our questions, to get proper treatment, proper check. He will not even knock with his hammer until we ask him to do so. How can you then claim such big prices for your useless "consultation" ? How can you call yourself doctor if you dont care about your patients? Another doctor I want to highlight is dr Yazid, endocrinologist We trusted him, we relied, we believed his words. But ended up getting my baby's condition worse. We have transient hypothyroidism, which was undertreated. We had to take hormone, but doctor ensured we can stop. Ended up my 3 years old son is not talking, not as developed as his peers. This hormone was so much essential for his brain development, and we stopped it so early, when the brain actively was developing. So dont put trust on doctors, do self-research. These doctors dont care about you and your child, all they care is how to get money from you. They will say that everything is okay, but you yourself know that something is alnormal, something is overlooked. Dont trust them dont go there, dont waste your nerves, time and money. Worst place to seek treatment in.

UMSC is a good specialist center with good & experienced doctors, friendly and caring nurses. There is always one or two approachable staff stationed at the entrance to help anyone who needs help with direction. However, the building and interior look old and the hospital has limited space. It is not convenient when comes to certain examinations such as MRI or Ultrasound scans because the patient has to travel to the Government side for the facilities. For this arrangement, at least the hospital provides service transport back and forth to the government hospital. For first time visitors, the hospital and it’s registration system can be rather confusing but the staff are mostly helpful. Parking wise is rather challenging and only the lucky ones get to park in-front of the hospital. Otherwise there is another car park nearby but the parking fee is expensive.

UMSC doctors are good and no doubt on it, I really want to suggest and wish UMSC can improve the below in order to make it better and competitive with other private hospital. I was admit to UMSC (UM hospital) for a surgery, i waited for almost 5 hours at the registration floor and watching the receiptionist and the staff working here for 5 hours, the problem of the entire problem are waiting and waiting and waiting , there is only one staff who shall bring the patient to their ward and it took him hours to send a patient to her ward, can you imagine the waiting time, the ward room took 2 hours to clear the room for another patient. I really wish the management to really look into this matter to make UM or UMSC more efficient, and found that there is no proper communication amongst departments. Really sad to see this at such a good hospital with good doctors. 😓😓😓

Definitely 1 of the worst private hospitals in term of customer services. Upon finished payment, they were supposed to send the patients to the grd flr to make appointment but was told to leave instead. I only Found out after reading the small print on the app card when reached home. Good job!

I let my daughter admitted as she has been coughing for 2 weeks. There is no doc at night, the room cost rm238 but it is a run down shared ward with UM. The worse thing is, the nurse doesnt know what to do when there is emergency. I have to ask her to call a doc when she is just pressing a unrelevant machine checking her heart beat. N then she just went out saying nothing. Xray n swab test cost about rm3k. Do not use this hospital. Good thing is i dont have to walk out from room to do checkout. N the head of nurse apolozised for what had happened, at least they r good and willing to improve.

Terrible experience with the hospital's only paediatric urologist Dr Srihari Singaravel. Utterly unprofessional. He had been late for our appointment with him for 30 minutes, at which point - after the nurse's second call - he announced an unplanned meeting suddenly came up delaying him for another half an hour. He asked us to wait which, of course, we didn't do. Wasted two hours of our precious morning time, cancelled our prior plans for this. Never coming back.

Helpline: Worst experience on the helpline number. They are sometimes rude and dont let you finish what you are saying, will always interrupt. And they will drop the call without saying any proper goodby or showing professional attitude. Visit Experience: I have been going to UMSC from past few years. The time to get the token and making initial payment of 200 RM (for expats) is smooth. The real test begins, to see the doctor, when you are waiting for your number to appear on the screen. The usual waiting time for the doctor for me is around 3 - 4 hours! I dont understand what is the point of making an appointment, if you still had to wait for few hours to see the doctor? After you have seen doctor: Once you have seen the doctor, then you need to spend another 1-2 hours to settle your bill and get the medicine from pharmacy. Doctors feedback: Well most of the doctors are professors. We pay premium price because we expect to get good service. Although be ready to get disappointed, to err is human, the professors even will not be able to perform the right diagnosis or sometimes they will be CARELESS. Therefore, please insist if you want to get something checked, ASK if you are not sure about something and ASK AGAIN if you are still not clear. Especially for pregnant women, ASK if the ultrasound is normal, ASK if the baby is doing well, ASK if all things related to heart and calcium are fine. In conclusion, if you are visiting UMSC with your partner, be in good health, good mode and have plenty of time to spend there. Be patient, keep your mobile phone fully charged so you can watch videos, play games or read some articles to kill the time. You must have minimum 10 to 12 hours to spend there. If you are a professional, take full day off or bring your laptop with you. I hope this review helps, as I am writing this after few years of personal experience with UMSC.

Seriously every thing we need to pay for . As a foreigner you need to pay double why is that. Just to to register in emergency pay 120 and they call for treatment and registration even though my brother just want to take blood test we paid 120 for just sitting there doctor came to do same test what we did the day before which not included blood test , x ray , any medication or any tests at all. And the lady on counter was so angry that I asked her to explain what is this 120 what treatment I need to pay for which he is no my even diagnose. Just labeling how to get more money And if no solution can be given they call it depression and stress my brother in sever pain can't even walk and yeah sure depression he have.

Rude & unprofessional doctor, administrative staff and poor process Mom has been seeing Dr Ramesh for many years primarily for high BP. 2 years ago there was another medical problem which required her to go for a minor surgery with a specialist at another hospital but unable to secure a clearance letter from Dr Ramesh who insisted she do it at UMSC so he could be "there" for her in case her high BP escalates during surgery. He recommended his colleague at UMSC and they both agreed to do this op under GA to manage Mom's anxiety and high BP. After doing my own research I realized this was unnecessary and irresponsible as GA is risky especially on elderly people with serious medical conditions . However when I raised this concern with Dr Ramesh and expresed concern about his colleague therefore asked him again for a clearance letter to do the op at another hospital he becane extremely agitated, defensive and rude and told me it was the first time anyone had ever "questioned" him. Quite nasty. I was frankly taken aback by his reaction. Long story short my mom eventually did the simple op without GA and coincidentally when we changed cardiologists we realized her medical issue is in fact low BP . She has now stopped taking the BP medication prescribed to her for years by Dr Ramesh. As many other reviewers have commented, the administrative process at UMSC is unnecessarily time consuming with the deposit payment. The nurses at the counter on respective floor are also rude. Only the nurses at the registration/deposit counter are pleasant. Entrance guards are generally unhelpful - they stand and watch not bothering to open car door or assist with an elderly patient for people like me who need to drop off the patient first before parking the car.

Doctors here are all very good and professional, only draw back is the waiting time. They should consider cutting down all the unnecessary administrative process. Total took me more than 2 hours even though appointment made. To make payment waited for more than 45 minutes, say waited for the pharmacy to key in the medicine list. Is total time wasting, after checking with them a few times, they say I can pay direct at the pharmacy section and that only took me 5 minutes. Please cut down all the unnecessary queue and processes.

Give appointment a specific time and said don't be late and keep giving reminder to be early but when registered only to be told need to wait for more than 2 hours!! What's the point of giving time based appointment when required to wait so long. Just say first come first serve. Called the customer service, no one wants to answer or come to speak. Asked for an in charge to speak to didn't get any response. Completely not child friendly hospital

Was given appointment at 4pm but waited till 8pm. When ask, nurse give a very stupid excuse 'first come first basis'. If first come first basic then WHY GIVE TIME AND ASK NOT TO BE LATE???? This is ridiculous! So call private hospital but system sucks!!!! Is worse than government hospital. So many bad reviews with regards to waiting time, nurse rude and yet no improvement. Respond to review was 'cut and paste'. The management, please look into it seriously!

Monday 5 February 2024 - surprisingly not many people as read from reviews. whole process completed in an hour. Took grab there as i saw reviews that parking is limited. 9.25am reach ambulatory entrance, fill in form, register, take number, straight counter call, sign for confirmation details, pay deposit, take elevator to level 2. 9.50am see doctor. After finish, the nurse will come out ask to go book and pay station 10.20am go payment counter on same level. Either pay more or balance amount refunded Prof Dr Chan Wah Kheong is awesome. Very patient and explain in detail what's causing the symptoms. He reassured me with his explanation. Gave me advice on how to handle my symptoms. All front staffs were friendly and helpful as well, especially Nor Azira & Saratha. Well done and keep it up. And yes definitely would recommend him to treat complex gastro issues. If other gastro doctors can't give you any advices, good to seek second opinion from Prof Dr Chan Wah Kheong. 👍🌟 ------- toilet on level 2 is clean and well ventilated

Today, I went to Prof Aizura Syafinaz (Level 3) for skin tag removal at my privates. She did it calmly and patiently. I'm impressed with her service. My mom also went there two months ago with the same doctor for menstruation issue. She did a very good job. My five star is for her. My suggestions: it would be great if the staffs at the counters can greet us with a smile and be friendly. That.would attract more customers.

Exorbitant parking charges. Visited on 19th February 2024 and parked less than 2 hours but was charged RM12.00. The operator didn't accept cash and T&G ewallet. Need to scan my credit card via wave, no other payment options. Ridiculous! FYI, Sunway Hospital parking is multistorey covered car park. The fee is RM3.00 for 1st 2 hours and only RM10.00 for whole day parking. UMSC parking area is open area under hot sun. Customers don't have other parking options. The nearest car park is far away in UMMC.

5 stars rating to the spine team at UMSC. I'd like to convey my sincere gratitude to Prof Kwan, Prof Chris, Prof Shahnaz and the team for the successful surgery performed on me in July 2019. Not forgetting Sister Chua, Winnie, Josephine for coordinated the arrangement for pre-admission and during my stay in hospital. Thank you to Mawar ward nurses for taking good care of me. I was impressed with the info pack (file) given during my first consultation, with journals regarding scoliosis research conducted by the surgeons and detailed info for pre- and post- surgery. The Whatsapp group created for the communication with surgeons and supporting staffs enabled my beloved family members to get first hand info regarding the progress of my 2.5 hrs surgery. On the other hand, I hope that UMSC management could look into improvement on the waiting system at radiology department (outpatient). Patients were given number upon registration, but no numbering display system at radiology department for the 1.5hrs waiting, and patients have to wait nearby the area to listen to his/her names to be called after submitted the radiology request form. Thank you.

The patient was well taken cared of by the team of Prof. Kwan, Prof. Chris and team. Grateful and thankful that we have their attention and invaluable medical service. Patient is now recovering well and adapting to a better quality of life. None are achievable without Prof. Kwan, Prof Chris and team. 1 valuable experience that I would like to share is, when the patient is admitted to the Operation Theather for the surgical procedure, kins of the patient are well informed of the surgical process and progress through Whatsapp group. This has greatly reduced anxieties and worries among the patient's kin. I highly recommend people who are suffering from spine especially those with scoliosis issue to seek medical advise from this team of experienced UMSC medical experts. Till then, you will realise that spinal issues and Scoliosis is not something to be feared of instead its something that can be corrected surgically. Most important aspect of this experience is the improved quality of life that this team has help the patient and us to achieve.

A very big KUDOS to Prof Kwan, Prof Chris, Prof Chiu and also Prof Shahnaz for their amazing job done on my surgery in May 2019. I have suffered from very severe scoliosis and kyphosis for decades. My surgery was super major and took 8 long hours. Despite the difficulties, Prof Kwan and his team have successfully corrected my condition and this tremendous transformation really saved me and changed my life forever. Throughout the surgery, my family members were kept posted on the progress of my operation via a whatsapp group. This added touch is indeed very thoughtful and comforting for my family during the ordeal. I am very thankful that everything went well from my very first consultation up to surgery and now post surgery recovery. The dedication and commitment shown by Prof Kwan and his team towards their job is highly commendable. Not only are they highly skillful, their dedication totally deserves praise, respect and admiration. There was a night when Prof Kwan came to check on me at 12:45am and for that, I take my hat off to him. A very big thank you to Prof Kwan and his team for undertaking my complicated surgery and making it a success. My family and I are forever grateful and we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless you all.

Have been to UMSC for consultation for various medical conditions. Though some of the consultants are competent and engaging in their field of expertise, a handful can be outright obnoxious and egotistical, whereby where one can draw very little or nothing from the privately paid consultation. Guess the old fruits will be there till they fall from the apple tree. Cant say much of the clinic support staff except that they are nothing much to shout about.

Pristine clean and sterile environment. Plenty of chairs for patients to wait for their turn. Has a decent cafeteria with a coffee dispensing machine. The deposit is pretty steep at RM200 per follow-up visitation (RM300 if you are seeing a particular doctor for the first time) but any balances will be refunded to your credit or debit card. In most cases the total bill will be over RM200 therefore the remaining amount due will be charged before collecting your medication. While UMSC provides free WiFi on every floor, note that cellular phone reception (I'm looking at you, U-Mobile and Celcom) can be very poor on the second and third floors. Advanced imaging equipment such as MRI, ultrasound and CAT scan is not available here but UMSC will provide you with a free shuttle to the adjacent University Hospital. However UMSC does have an X-ray machine and blood taking facilities here.

Definitely recommend this place if you want a good non biased opinion or a 2nd opinion about a health issue that you have especially if it potentially involves surgery or taking strong medications over long periods of time. The specialists here are mostly academics who unlike many of their peers in private hospitals live for the progress of the medical science and not for more self centered material purposes. They won't sent you for multiple scans or examinations or tests unless it is really necessary and they will for most give you a really good and unbiased professional advice.

A deep heartfelt thanks especially to Dr Rusdi Draman, Dr Carol, Dr Prisha, Dr Jessyln and the wonderful staffs that made a pleasant stay for my father Mr Nazir Deen who was recently admitted for left intertrochanteric fracture following MVA. Our family were very pleased to have such a supportive and communicative team which answered our questions and attended to our needs. A special thanks to Dr Rusdi for all his efforts to ensure a smooth transfer of my father from a private hospital to UMSC. The operation did not wait long. It was scheduled on the following day. The team updated frequently regarding the operation, wound care and other general advice through a doctors-family Whatsapp group which I find very unique, not seen before in any other hospital. My father is now at home, recovering well, Alhamdulillah. Wound has healed well and he is able to walk using walking frame for now. My father's subsequent follow up with Dr Rusdi has been smooth without long waiting hours. He explained well regarding the healing process and gave my father the motivation and courage to continue physiotherapy. He is very kind, helpful and ever smiling. My mother also has follow up with him and she is very satisfied with Dr Rusdi's management. The charges at the hospital and clinic are also very reasonable and cheaper compared to other private hospitals.

The WORST administrators ever. 1. No respect to the patients 2. No time management 3. RUDE 4. Overpriced as hell - Set up meetings so close to each other that the doctor cannot meet the appointment times - Doctor coming in late and not meeting the appointment times - The admins expect you to wait 2 hours for the doctors, but you can't set your appointment time for a later time cause it's not fair for the doctor to wait for you. (Yes, that's what the admin actually said, when the doctors hours are actually stated that he is working during those times I asked for) - another thing that happened is that I had an appointment for 9.15am, at 10.30am, I asked what is going on, when is my turn. They said got 7 people in front of me, which was like. What??? Then I questioned them again, stating my appointment time is at 9.15am. Then they said, oh I'm next. EXCUSE ME, in 1 minute things can change order wan ah. - then to refund payment, they asked me to wait again. I waited, no news. I went back and questioned them (these are different administrators from the one I talked to before this, but attitude from the same brood) They said they are waiting for my registration to be refunded, and asked me to take a seat again. I told them, "okay, I'll wait here". Then only they called the reception to refund it. And I could get the refund immediately. TOTALLY NO RESPECT FOT PATIENTS. DONT BOTHER SUPPORTING THEM. PEOPLE WHO ALREADY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU FROM THE TIME YOU STEP INTO THE HOSPITAL. Why go there then?

I would like to make a complaint on the attitude of Mahathevi from the record department. I have submitted an insurance claim form for the department to process and I have received a call from her that I have filled up a small error in the form. As the form need to be in hard copy, i reminded her with gentle tone about it. However, she just answer -“I just get doctor to fill up, how you wan to collect it, u just arrange yourself” (with an impatient tone) Hence, I repeated the request and she just reply “okay okay bye bye bye bye” forcing to end the conversation even that I insisted to continue. How rude is it? I dial back right after the call and there is no one to pick up. I continuously dialled 14 times but still no one pick up. Im sure the line is not busy as UMSC call will usually show busy in our phone call if they are engage. This incident happened on 27 oct 2021 at about 2:45 pm This is a serious issue as I’m not the first time experiencing it. The service from the department especially the person in charge stated above is terrible.

We are so grateful that we found Prof Ng Khoon Leong in UMSC. He was our third opinion and the one we booked my son's thyroid surgery with immediately upon consultation. Through weeks of online research, I was not comfortable with the treatments proposed by two other surgeons from fancier hospitals. Both of them clung on to the old method of over-treating papillary thyroid cancer and one was particularly irritated with my questions. On the other hand, Prof KL Ng has the most updated knowledge and nuanced approach, that we decided immediately to go with him. He was calm & patient with our questions and took time to explain what was needed. The surgery went very well, my son recovered speedily and he is back to his normal activities, with a yearly surveillance plan. I have learnt that second (& third) opinions are needed as many doctors do not keep up with the latest knowledge. Prof KL Ng and PPUM/UMSC being a teaching hospital, has that advantage of keeping up with the latest research & guidelines. We are so thankful. The nursing standard and certainly the elevators could improve, but those are small issues in comparison.

Poor management of appointment Scheduling system. My maternity appointment with gynae was rescheduled twice due to dr's unavailability as walkin. 1st rescheduled appointment was cancelled due to last minute info that clinic was closing earlier than normal operation hours & rescheduled following week as walkin due to full appointment slot. Make few attempts to contact customer relation but failed. Hope the management would improve on the system which is being managed by general Cust service team.

My husband was diagnosed as left lumbar stenosis in L4 and L5 in April 2019 and had his surgery done on 11.5.2019 by Prof Dr chiu and Prof Dr kwan . The pain on his left leg had been reduced after surgery. But unfortunately his right leg start to pain about 1 week later. The reason was unknown till now. Prof Dr chiu just advised for another surgery. But my husband was afraid to had second surgery again at this moment. We had tried acupuncture, exercise and Chinese medicine for these few months but not much improvement until today which was 6 months after surgery. We wonder what is the reason of this issue. .

Doctor Jayaletchumi is one of the best orthopedic and she explained everything clearly to me. She’s a careful, fantastic and patient doctor who answer all the questions. Besides, Dr Kevin Ng as anaesthesiogy also shower his care to patient. He even visit to my room after the surgery and care about my situation. Thanks to Dr Jayaletchumi and Dr Kevin Ng! The only cons is UMSC environment is old and I hope it would refurbish

Very expensive parking charges. Management charged by the hour, like shopping centre, rm2.50 per hr. They think ppl like to go there and hang out for no reasons. The clinical oncologist was very slow and bossy , not a patient friendly doctor.

Needless to repeat the expertise of both Prof Dato Dr Kwan and Prof Chiu in the spine field, I wonder why no one mentioned the 3 extra care they shower to their patients: (1) 2 professor surgeons in operation: reduce risks, save time & blood lost. If thing still goes wrong………,blame your own fate. (2) Group Whatsapp: Prompt response, no need to wait helplessly for next appt. (3) Insurance form signed+reports on the day discharged! Save time e and foc! Aren't they wonderful? Doc, can Iwear high heels now?

We are very grateful to Prof Dato' Dr Kwan, Prof Dr Chris Chan and Prof Dr Shahnaz for a successful TLIF spine operation which took 4 hours 35 minutes on our daughter. They were very professional in their conduct, explanation and keeping us informed every step of the way from pre-operation to post-operation. They have a very interactive system to communicate with us even during the operation to alleviate our anxiety. Sister Chua who is also part of the team never failed to attend to our query even before we agreed to the operation. We sincerely appreciate Prof Dato' Dr Kwan and his team, not to forget the nurses at Mawar Ward for taking good care of our daughter. It is truly a blessing to have come across Prof Dato' Dr Kwan, you can trust him and his team. 🙏🙏🙏

Saturday 8:30 am, the reception area is already crowded, though social distancing is followed. If one comes lated, then would have a longer atcthe clinic instead of at the reception. Proper self declaration has to be made before entering the Centre and temperature is taken.

Came here for orthopaedic and saw Dr Sankara Kumar, he explained very well and clear. I felt like I attended a lecture to be given such clear understanding and gave me simple diagnosis in few minutes which are aligned to my symptoms when I had seen 4 different specialists before regarding same issue in different hospital. My ‘ding-dong’ stopped at UMSC. If you feel like you’ve been ‘ding-dong’ like a pendulum ball, come here!

Good specialist Doctors available. Most of them work in UM and this is the private wing. Easier to get appointment then UM.

  • 4/5 Christopher C. 3 years ago on Google
This specialist centre is staffed by professionals that normally serve as professors or assistant professors. These professionals are able to sacrifice their time from teaching at ummc to consult with patients that require their expertise. The ummc has provided this avenue for the senior professors and lecturers to be able to cater to their patients as well as to be able to earn more so that they will not frog to a private hospital and hence depriving the medical students their expert opinions and sharing of experience. If there are people who feel that these services are high priced then they could goto the normal service at ummc.

Went there for my spinal consultation. I would say Dr Chung Weng Hong has given a clear explanation on my condition and what is need to be done in a short and precise manner. As i never been to umsc, i ended up another place. I gotta call up many times just to ask for directions. But the officers and staff were kind enough to guide me through. Overall, i am still satisfied with the experience.

Front entrance reception is warm but the process is not well informed and tedious. When you are sick , you need someone to advice the necessary steps but not friendly. When we went upstairs 2nd floor, the reception Indian lady was rude and ask why we come out and not helpful. I raised my voice but she didn’t look at my face and still don’t think she is wrongly treated the patient. This is a good hospital and hopefully the Staff and process wouldn’t spoiled it.

Normally the staff including the pharmacist are very affectionate. But to my dismay my hubby and I had to wait nearly more than an hour for the prescription which was overlooked by a staff member and she was rude ... This shocked me. The worst part was at the pharmacy..where one of the pharmacists gave the wrong medication which belonged to some other patient. Luckily my hubby noted and alerted the pharmacists that this medicine is not his..then they realize... Very disappointed and hope in future they won't repeat the same mistakes....

8.15am still no 1 is ready at patient care station. My appointment was 8am and this is really not a pleasant experience to seeing a doctor here. Also the air conditioning is really cold and it is advisable to bring sweater along.

Professor Dr Muhammad Yazid Jalaludin was the specialist we were referred to. I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care and attention he provided over the period of more than 2 years. His expertise and compassionate approach made all the difference in my journey. I truly appreciate the time he took to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and provide me with the best possible treatment options. His patience and understanding made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. His dedication and commitment to his patients is truly admirable, and I am grateful to have him as my doctor. His expertise and professionalism are invaluable. You make a difference in people's lives every day, and I am truly grateful for the impact you have had on mine and my family. The journey at UMSC has been great thus far and they have very well qualified staff. The professionals are exposed to the global medical landscape and are abreast with the development in their specific fields.

My dad was involved in a car accident and brought him in for spinal check up with Dr. Chung Weng Hong in orthopaedic department. Dr Chung is empathetic and very thorough with the examination and is always happy to answer whatever questions we have. After 4 months of follow up my dad has successfully recovered. Would really recommend Dr. Chung if you are looking for an orthopaedic doctor!

Prof Teo Seow Hui was really professional, nice to talk to and easy to communicate with. Questions was answered by her very attentively and also guidance provided post-op was sent to us. Things to take note: MRI ,ward and physio will be under PPUM building. Physio was good but only very trouble to find parking in the building and its cost goes up every 30mins iirc. Nurses in the ward is nice, however a lack of single room in the ward facility...was promised a single room accordingly however only got a double room no choice..

Went to see 2 different specialist, a gastroenterologist (Dr Ida) and a psychiatrist (Dr Amarpreet). The first doctor wasted RM700 for a test that I believe is performed incorrectly, and the second doctor saved my life. My reason for visiting was that I had gluten intolerance, and upon accidentally consuming a large amount of gluten, I started to become very ill and started fainting at work for 2 weeks. My boss then asked me to visit UMSC and perhaps get tested for Celiac disease. I went to consult the gastroenterologist, and she drew my blood to perform the test. Before this happened, I asked her, “shouldn’t I be on a gluten containing diet in order to do the test?”. She said no need. The test came back negative. I decided to get a second and third opinion from another doctor and a Celiac support group, and everyone told me that the test showed a false negative because I had not been consuming gluten for 2 weeks. Basically wasted RM700+ for no reason. Meanwhile, due to the same incident, I also was having a severe depressive breakdown and was very suicidal. I went to see the psychiatrist on the same day, and asked whether I needed to be on medication in order to work. She said since there is a clear reason for my sudden depression, I don’t need any medication and just need some rest and that I should avoid stress. She issued a 2 weeks MC for me, no meds, and she was right, I just needed some time and less stress in order for my gut to heal. It took me 4 weeks to heal, but 2 weeks of MC really helped kick start my recovery. Overall, I was really disappointed with the gastroenterologist. Fortunately the psychiatrist saved my life with her kind empathy and sound advice.

My son Hao Hoong was admitted to UMSC for spine surgery last year December 2023 under Dr. Chung Weng Hong and Dr. Chiu Chee Kidd. Both doctors have explained in full details about the procedures, the risk involved and post surgery care to us. They even assist me in submitting claims to insurance company pre and post surgery even though I have to pay and claim later eventually. Both doctors have kept us well informed through social media and continue to remind and consult us after discharge. I have never experienced such high level of hospitality and care from other private hospital before. Really. Not only that, both doctors also help us to save and charge only necessary to us which I really really impressed. Both doctor also consult and advise me passionately as I have suffered the similar spine pain like my son. For anyone who look for fast and reasonable medical treatment (with insurance coverage) especially related to spine issue, I would highly recommend Dr. Chung and Dr. Chiu as my top choice. Lastly, I really, really, really thankful to Dr. Chung and Dr. Chiu. Words can really express my gratitude to you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Doctors are arrogant and rude. They are doctors hence, they think they don't need to explain anything, all money minded. Nurses are lazy and have no empathy. Mum was screaming in pain, but they didn't care, offered no solution, was very rough. Some of these nurses should be fired for such bad behavior. We are patients, not barangs for you to cincai handle. No care, no patience and no heart please don't become nurse.
