I want to be sure to say that this is a place that does have large crowds and I know for many it may be stressful, so my rating is definitely based on both my own enjoyment and nostalgia for going to the fair, and being on the lower end of stress in crowds. If you have any struggles with crowds I would say this one is closer to 3 stars with some suggestions at the end. I have enjoyed going to the fair for years and it was fun to go with family this year. We were able to see some of the art from students and see the loom work of several great artists! We saw some animals and got ice cream too. A very fun place to go for those who love rides, to see animals, or in our case to look at great artistic skills of those in our area! We tried to stay away from the larger crowds, and it was a very enjoyable trip. To avoid the crowds I would say avoid the purple entrance, it is near the rides and is always busy with people. Take advantage of the art sections of the fair with display areas near the coke stage and the art display area near the gold gate having fewer crowds most days. And, the biggest suggestion is avoid both the free day and weekends when more people are at the fair. Hope you get a chance to enjoy it soon!

The food, games and rides are way too expensive. It was way over crowded and took too long of waiting for each ride and food lines with no organization. The experience was fun but with all that in mind it took a lot of the joy out of it. When most of our time was spent in lines.

Love the fair... but wow! the prices. Families should have the fair for those "moments." $15 (30 tickets) for most of the good rides. Tickets were 120 for $60. Lines were short or nonexistent to most food and extras because of the price. We had a great time viewing animals and just being us, but we definitely wanted to do more.

The Washington State Fair is awesome! Houses in the neighborhood will offer $10 dollar parking in front of their houses which is cheaper than the regular parking if you are able to do that. Tons of animals, games, rides and food for the whole family to enjoy. We went early so it wasn't very crowded. We purchased the $60 package and had enough tickets for the day. We had a lot of fun and will be going back for another trip!

I took my daughter to her first concert at the Washington state fair grounds. We saw Carrie Underwood on September 4th 2021. Great concert, sound was perfect as well as her performance. I would recommend seeing Carrie in concert. Tickets were $120.00 each but well worth it. Planning on seeing her again in Phoenix, Arizona this year.

Fun when you have family and friends to enjoy the atmosphere. The food is a bit overrated, bland and greasy. I don't understand why it's hyped up so much but the rides, booths, games and exhibits make up for it. Definitely pricey but lots of fun.

Fun State Fair with a lot of activities for the kids. Parking is $15 and they do not have enough handicap parking. They ran out of handicap parking by 12:30 and didn't have any alternative options. A lot of food options and the scones are delicious. Too bad that they don't have areas to view the main concert, all spots are covered to prevent people from seeing the concert without buying an additional ticket.

I moved to Washington this past year, so this was a great opportunity to learn more about my local community, while having a cute date night with my partner. Quite a few rides, including the classic gravitron, cat&mouse, and swinging ship, as well as a rollercoaster, but expect a long wait. Foodwise - a bunch of new foods I recommend - smoked turkey legs (taste like XMAS ham! LOL), elephant ears (like a big, flat, buttered funnel cake. Go half sugar, half jam!), and Russian piroshkis (I had the beef one, tasted like a Philly cheesesteak *drool*). SCONES are a big thing here, but I still haven't figured out why or tried one myself. There's also a bunch of classic foods you'd find at every state fair - pizza, gyros, burgers, corn dogs, popcorn, dippindots, fries, etc - so there's food for everyone to pick from. There's a lot of local love, too. The whole convention center was full of art, decorated cakes, and all kinds of ribbon-worthy contests - it was neat to see all the quilts, fashion, wood carved art, and animals with their 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbons. We also got SUPER lucky to see two litters of piglets that were just born and fighting over mom (HAHAHA). There's a petting zoo full of goats and sheep, as well as horses, chickens, and rabbits that you can LOOK AT, but not touch. Lots of young girls proudly showing off their work with their horses, and sharing their stories. Overall, this was a great experience and I'm excited to go next year!

Plan on spending over $100 for parking, admission, and ride/game tickets. Lots to do, but extremely packed. Wait time for food, games and rides is anywhere from 15min - 40min. Lots of people wearing masks, maybe 85%. A bunch of highschool kids running around, watched one steal a stuffed animal, smh. Overall fun for the family. 11 tickets per person for each ride and around 8 tickets for games.

So fun! Honestly the food reigns supreme here, there's so many unique food options to try! The elephant ears, mexican corn, and deep fried oreos are some of the interesting and delicious options! The rides are cool and fun but the lines are so long. The shows and music are fun to watch and there are cool shops too! Definitely would recommend visiting, there's something for everyone! But honestly, it's $15 just to enter, and then everything inside is extremely expensive. So not the best cost effective family outing.

My family had fun. Sadly the prices were way higher than the last time we went. Asking $4-5 for a bottle of water is crazy. They had water fountains, but those were turned off.

That was amazing experienced my kids love all the rides and games. But sometimes some rides had a very long line to wait. Food was amazing speciallu outside areas. Over all was incredible experienced fun, enjoyable.

Recommend Unlimited Pass Bracelet if you can afford it. Wear comfortable shoes for a lot of walking. Weekday and morning had the least crowd. Weekends and evenings go crazy with lines everywhere. People were in lines for their families to save time for rides. Friday's fireworks were the best as well. Also must watch was the Jungle Book Show this year. Entertaining and engaging. Food pricing was the only thing we found unreasonable.

It was fun to be here with my daughters and toddler granddaughter. We missed having the usual program with the daily schedules - especially with so many changes of locations of our favorite parts to visit. The rides seemed a bit pricey- $6 for our granddaughter to ride the carousel! We loved the display with all the quilts hung from the ceiling.

You might luck out and find free street parking pretty close to the fair. Less crowded during weekdays. Food is high but some single proportions will be enough for 2, depending on what you choose to order. No matter what the weather - there are both indoor and outdoor activities. Animals, rides, art, food, and vendors of numerous kinds. There are a select few days where the entrance fee is free or low cost. This fair is, and has always been, a fun and popular event that everyone looks forward to attending. Something for everyone.

There's always something going on at the State Fair, the parking is not terrible but definitely priced up as it ranges from 10 to 20 dollars based off the event. I recently attended "The Taste" and got to try a bunch of delicious food trucks and hear some live music as I navigated through the fairground. My biggest complaint is that there is not much area for shade when the sun is out, making it uncomfortable for children and adults alike. There also needs to be more pronounced smoking areas so that we are not hitting secondhand smoke at every corner we turn to. It was not my first event here and will likely not be my last but wear sunscreen, avoid second hand smoke when possible and enjoy yourself.

I've been going to the spring and summer fair since my older daughter could walk. Kids love the fair, and I'll take them as long as they want to go... and then I'll keep going πŸ˜€

This was our first time visiting the Washington State Fair. It was much larger than I anticipated. I was impressed with the variety of activities, food and vendors. The shows provided fun entertainment in the shade. Definitely will be a new annual tradition for us!

Had an amazing time! The fairgrounds were clean and well-maintained, and there were so many fun activities to choose from. I particularly enjoyed the live music performances and the delicious food vendors. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the fair had a great atmosphere overall.

I attended SummerCon with most of my family! Today was just the first day but it was a lot of fun! ☺ The weather was great and so was the selection of vendors! And a lot of celebrities are attending this year too!

Food was so good!! I didn't get a chance to take a picture of everything that we ate. But corn dog. Elephant ear. Kettle corn, street corn, strawberry lemonade, scones! All so yummy! You have to try the street corn! It's $10 but it's so good

I always enjoy the fair once I get there! It was my first time going on a weekend and I will not ever do that again. The weekend was extremely busy and difficult to find parking causing major traffic with an hour delay. The lines for food were long, but seemed to move pretty quick, except for scones! If you want scones, I suggest getting there earlier in the day or getting right away upon arrival because the line grows longer as the day gets older. Finding a place to eat wasn't so bad either, people cleared out pretty quick from tables and there were plenty of benches and random spots all over. Just be prepared for astronomical prices for food! I got over it and just accepted that the fair is an experience and if you want the extras like food, then you will have to pay. Lines for rides on the weekend were crazy long too! If you go on the weekend, expect to wait 20 minutes give or take to get on some rides. The free shows are nice, and the exhibits are too. There is plenty to do and eat as a couple or family. And as much as I complain about the fair and the costs and lines, it is likely I will end up there again next year because I always have fun.

Nice fair! This was our first time attending and wow, this place is huge! There is something for everyone. There are big rides, scary rides, and even a section for small kids which we got to enjoy with our son and daughter. There is a lot of food to be had. I’m knocking one star because even knowing how big this place is, parking is a mess.

Very impressive state fair! I have never been to a fair as large and well organized as this. Most of the grounds were clean and easy to navigate. There is plenty of food, all overpriced, but that’s okay. I specifically enjoyed the agriculture and livestock sections. There was a section to view flower and produce winners. Additionally there were opportunities to see various different animals. I definitely recommend going!

The Western Washington Fair lacks exciting new attractions. One can only stand for an hour in a Fisher Scones line so many times before realizing that a heaping pile of French fries will suffice. Unless you are someone that doesn't mind spending $10 for an Elephant Ear (fried dough). The majority of the fair grounds is taken up by the midway. I like to follow a path along the Sky-Ride starting near the Grandstand walking from one end to the other. The carnival game atmosphere is woven through spinning, twirling, and gravity drop thrill rides. It's very colorful at night with lights that provide individual and stylistic personality to a ticket in hand. There is also the traditional cattle area, product selling, and art and craft judging pavilion.

This place was amazing! It has rides for all different people from mild to intense, and Carousel to Rollercoaster. I personally took the Skyride and Classic Coaster, but that was already a handful for me. The food prices are a bit expensive, so I'd suggest you rather just eat at a different place.

We went on a Saturday – the second to last day of the fair, so it was incredibly busy. There were lines to everything. There were lines to the bathroom. There were lines to the ticket booth. There were lines to the food vendors, and the lines to the rides were about half an hour at least (even the kid rides). I got some great photos of the Ferris/gondola wheel while we waited in an hour-long line for it. The lines were really confusing. There weren’t cordoned-off areas for people to line up, so lines just kind of went off into the distance and twisted around in some random fashion – blocking foot traffic. I should think that especially during the time of Covid, you should probably have your line set up so that people know where they're supposed to go. There was one time that we stood in a line for 15 minutes only to find out that it was for some Slushie vendor, and not the Haunted Mansion. We had to start at the ride that we wanted to go on, and then try and trace the line back and find the end, but even that was difficult & the lines were so long. For some reason they weren’t allowing the bracelets for ride passes on that day. We were forced to buy tickets for everything, and so I ended up spending about $130 for tickets for one child and myself to ride rides for that day. There were several beer gardens, although I didn’t visit any of them. There wasn’t puke everywhere, as a matter of fact I can’t remember seeing any puke at all – major plus! When we went to a county fair in August there was a lot of puke just… around. I liked the item vendors that they had, but I would have wanted to see more trinket shops in general. The little kid games were cool. There were a couple where you could win a prize no matter what, and we got a pretty big prize from one of those! A few of them also allowed you to trade in your smaller prizes for a bigger prize, which was cool. Overall it was a good experience, and we will probably be back next year, but it was so crowded that it was difficult to even see the whole fairgrounds. It took a long time to cut through the random lines and people, especially with a stroller and little kiddos. The food was also good, and it wasn't ridiculously expensive. If there had been less lines for the food, I would have bought more.

Lots of over priced food, clothings, knickknacks, displays, rides, etc. We went in earlier in a day, so no music performance. Less crowded. It was fun walking around looking at stuff. There are many unofficial parking near by the events. Houses around the fairgrounds are offering parking space for $10. We found a place for $9 lol.
