I can't say enough about how beautiful this location is. A must see when visiting Quebec city. Give yourself about half a day to drive around the entire Island to leave enough time to stop and explore the many sites and farm stores that are available. Highly recommend visiting the black current winery, chocolatier and the fromagerie. I'll post separate reviews on each of these. We saw many people cycling around the island which would also be a fantastic experience. Lots of places to stop and enjoy. Recommend going earlier in the day to avoid the crowds.

As part of our stay in Quebec city, we dedicated a day to driving around the island. It was a trip highlight. We stayed in slow gear and drove counter-clockwise (travel clockwise if you want to see more in less time and don't want to circle the entire island). Stops included fresh fruit stands, a great goat cheese (and icecream) shop on the far tip (with warm fresh baguettes), numerous wineries, a gorgeous retreat center, happy goats, and many scenic stops. This place is not jam-packed with stops and things to do. Rather, it helps you unwind, enjoy some gorgeous views and breath in rural life and beauty.

An idyllic island where one leaves the cares behind. Picturesque doesn’t quite cover the beauty. If you’re in the area don’t miss this gem.

Pros: nice views of the river, cute houses Cons: no central district, it’s a drive and stop situation

You need a car or lots of muscle power to ride a bike to see all the greats things this island has to offer. The ride on the bridge was awesome. Lots of local adventures and stores to keep your day occupied.
