This is a must-do in QC, even for regular visitors. Our third food tour in the last 7 or 8 years, my wife, sister & niece took part. Samuel, the guide was knowledgeable, personable and funny and the food was great. The paté Chinois and pea soup at La Buche were unlike any you've probably ever had; the maple taffy, mac and cheese, poutine (not to mention the gin at Chez Livernois) were all outstanding, as was the historical context Sam provided. We would do this again in a heartbeat. Unlike past, stingier food tours we'd taken, we finished the excursion with full bellies and as another point of comparison, all 5 restos were within the walls of the old city, so we didn't have to stray far up Rue St Jean as we had in the past. 6 stars out of 5. Merci Samuel!

Fun food tour with a small group where you will sample a variety of local fare as you stroll through a few streets in Old Quebec. Our tour guide, Florence, was lovely, lively and interesting as she shared a bit of history and personal humor that made for a memorable experience.

The details we were given said we'd get six food samples including some smoked meat and cheeses. We did get one stop with meat and cheese, but every other stop was all dessert. We had planned on this being our lunch for the day so that was a bit disappointing. I also don't feel as though I got too much info on the food culture, which was a bit surprising. However, our guide did give us lots of facts about the city as we walked around so that was nice. And she even offered to give us a tour of the basilica, which I quite enjoyed! She also took us to a totally isolated viewpoint for great views of the city! But the food just seemed to be random desserts with no info about the history or why they were selected.

We had a good experience. A good tour guide, with lots of expertise about food and history of Quebec. A good selection of restaurant, with very good food, in just the right amount, not too much, not too little. Only draw back was the group size. I booked this tour because of the small size, it is advertised as 8 persons max, but we ended up with a 15 people group.

Denise was incredibly warm and knowledgeable. She made the tour very interactive. My husband and I are very fit , the other 6 on the tour were a little older and slower. She was able to make everyone happy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour with Simon, who delivered some historical information with humour and wit. The food stops were varied and contained a good variety of dishes mixed with some authentic Quebecois tastings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience on this tour. Our guide Pamela was a lovely local who kept the stories on history interesting and informative. The restaurants were all ready for us and the food was great, especially the pea soup and dessert sucre de crème. Highly recommend this tour!

Our food tour with Denise was amazing! She was very knowledgeable about the food, drink, sweets and history of the food and city. If you are planning on visiting Quebec city this is a must todo. I wasn't sure when we booked it, but I am extremely glad we did this tour. Thank you Denise for a fabulous afternoon! Dave & Stephanie

Visiting from Alberta. We had a wonderful time, the history of the area was super interesting, the food at each stop fantastic, and the house made gin - wow! Tour guides were excellent! Friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and spoke both English and French. Great job, highly recommend to anyone coming to Quebec City.

This food tour was great! Vincent, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable about Quebec City and its history. He was very fun to listen to and he was very friendly and personable too. The restaurants we stopped at on the tour served us excellent food that gave us a great sampling of food that is famous in Quebecois culture. We went to several restaurants that we wouldn’t have found on our own. We highly recommend this food tour!

I have 2 rules when I visit a city - never stay less than 2 nights and always do a food tour early in your stay. Another amazing tour with our guide Denise giving us great insights and great food! On top of her knowledge her friendliness and positive energy( a truly proud Québécois) she also provided great advice on other areas, restaurants and attractions to visit. Merci Beaucoup !

I’ve done a lot of food tours and this one, unfortunately, did not measure up to any of the others. We had to wait 45 minutes before the first stop as the previous group (with the same operator) was not finished. We were seated in the middle of a noisy restaurant with loud music (it was also all you could drink mimosas that day so the table next to us was loud). We could barely hear the guide. On other tours, the food sampled is correlated with the city history, including cultural context. Not so here. One stop was a croissant. It was equivalent to walking into an Au Bon Pain, being handed a croissant in a bag and leaving. Four stops in total. I would not recommend.

I had such a great time on this food tour. Samuel was a really great guide - interesting and entertaining. The food was all delicious, with decent portions. The poutine and G&T at Maison Livernois was probably my favourite. I came away from the tour having learned a lot about the cuisine and history of Quebec, as well as a full stomach. Totally recommend.

Karim was a great tour guide! He showed us all around Old Quebec City and took us to try fresh, local food. Highly recommend this tour and hope you get to do it with Karim.

One of the highlights of our trip to Quebec City! We got to try delicious foods and drinks that we wouldn’t otherwise have known to ask for on our own or find by ourselves. My favorite was the pâté chinois🤌🏼Sebastian was a fantastic and upbeat guide! He even saw us after the tour and asked if we needed any help or had any questions about the rest of our plans. Great first food tour and would definitely recommend it to anyone!!

It was a pleasure having Richard as our guide. He was friendly, humorous but yet very serious and determined to show us the best of Saint-Roch neighbourhood. Despite the rain, our group of 6 tourists enjoyed the food, drinks and his insightful commentaries of the city. For the food sampling, the portions are each appropriately sized and paired with drinks. By the end of the tour, we were all stuffed to the maximum (not that I am complaining). 😊 Richard also shows professionalism and passion for his job. There was a slight issue with some late participants at the beginning of the tour, but he dealt it very professionally and avoided making everyone else feel awkward. Before ending the tour, Richard even went the extra mile by offering to help non French-speaking clients to make restaurant reservations for the following days. Truly kind and professional. I am really glad to have joined this tour, gone off the beaten track and discovered this lesser known Saint-Roch neighbourhood. Had I not done it, I would have just stayed in the old part of Québec City with all other tourists. Isn't it always great to discover new things?

Did the old Quebec food tour on December 30th and what a great experience. Our guide was Samuel and he was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the history of this beautiful city and always explained using humour. The locations we visited were all great! My favourite one was Be club bistro - best Mac and cheese I’ve had, so good my husband and I returned after the tour. The tour was a great way to familiarize ourselves with the city and different restaurants around. Great tour ! Thanks Samuel for being an excellent guide.

Our Food Tour guide was great. Sam has such a wealth of historical information. Great personality for the job.

This was a great taste of several places I wouldn't have been able to visit all in one day trip otherwise. Everyone was welcoming and ready to show off their restaurant. Each one gave a little advertisement to come back as we were eating. Some of our group were annoyed at how long the director at the last stop talked about his location. I enjoyed that I got a mini history and museum time along with my food tour.

Our tour with Guillaume was exceptional! He made us discover the Saint-Roch district with humor, anecdotes and professionalism. This tour is a unique experience to meet and discuss with other travelers but also to discover the Saint-Roch district and the variety of small shops and restaurants that the city has to offer. I highly recommend this activity if you are visiting Quebec City.

My mother, grandmother and I went on the Old Quebec City Food Tour on our recent trip to Quebec. This was both our first time to QC and our first time on a food tour so we had no idea what to expect. There were 5 stops, each with delicious food (the fancy poutine was our favorite!) Our tour guide, Sebastian was so knowledgable and explained a great deal of history about not only the food but Quebec City in general. Many fascinating cultural details. Bonus: he was hilarious and did a great job keeping us entertained. 3-hour walking tour sounded long but in reality was never grueling even for my grandmother. Sebastian did a great job walking slowly and making sure no one fell behind. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves food and is interested in learning something about the city. Totally worth the money!

This tour is great! The perfect way to discover Saint-Roch that turns out to be the coolest place in Quebec City. I would definitely recommend this visit :) The guide gives us precious information about the history, the culture and the culinary scene of the neighborhood. It really feels that we've learned and discovered a lot about Quebec city! The foodie part of the visit was really exciting. We've tasted things I never had before, such as sour beer or a mix of tea and cheese, and we've meet some young entrepreneurs that started great shops and restaurants. Everything was local and truly delicious! Thank you very much for this awesome tour!

Samuel did an amazing job sharing interesting fact about Quebec City. The food was great as well. We got to try a lot of local cuisine that normally I wouldn’t have had the chance to try. We started with split pea soup and an incredible Sheppard’s pie at le Buche. And then had an amazing croissant at Pillard. Gin tasting at Livernois where I discovered that real poutine the cheese curds are squeeky. It is a very hilly walk. I wouldn’t recommend this tour to anyone with mobility issues. Overall I would highly recommend it.

Pamela was a wonderful and very patient guide. Her love of Quebec is very obvious and she navigated us through the cobblestone streets and alleys of the old city. There was a bicycle race zipping around us so it got very tricky at times, but she kept her cool. The tasting portions are very small, so it sounds like a lot of food but it’s just right. We had pea soup, shepherds pie, maple syrup taffy, croissant with ham and cheese and poutine with gin! All delicious 😋

This tour is a must when visiting Quebec City. We tasted a variety of foods at 5 different locations. The portions were generous and we were full by the end. Samuel, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and funny. He gave us a mix of history along with humor throughout the 3 hour tour. At the end, he spent some time giving us recommendations for dinner. Highly recommend this tour!

Marie gave us a special food tour of Quebec! We loved all the stops and the history of the city that we learned along the way. Marie was very engaging with all of us and we learned a lot about the culture. A perfect introduction to Quebec! I wish we took this tour on our first day, so we could appropriately plan more meals at all the spots! Thank you, Marie!

Sam, our trip leader, lead us on an enjoyable and informative walking/history and food tour of old Quebec City this afternoon. He was a delightful and informative guide and the restaraunts that he chose to have us visit served delicious food and drink. My wife, Suzanne, and I would give our strongest and highest recommendations of Sam and the tour.

This is a really valuable tour for anyone visiting Quebec City for the first time. I enjoyed hearing about the food culture, as well as local history and society. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and shared fun stories about her personal family history, too. And the food was all fantastic! I've been on a couple tours during this trip, and each one brought a new and interesting perspective. Highly recommend! - There isn't a huge about of walking, with frequent stops at restaurants and points of interest. - The maple taffy at La Buche is SO GOOD.

Very delicious sampling of local cuisine, gin and wine. Guide pointed out historical and cultural sites as we walked to 4 different restaurants. Lots of interesting facts and information about Quebec City. Highly recommend especially if you are only here for a few days.
