Thanks to the great support of the team ( Alyssa) we had a super time traveling through western Canada. Everything was perfect organized started with the tour configuration (adjusted to our needs & wishes), the campgrounds booked for us, the RV selected and some updates during our road trip. The roadblock helped to prioritize what to see and what to do.

In late summer 2019, I worked with representatives of Authentik Canada to plan a trip to the Banff area. Authentik billed me a total of $3987 CAN which I paid in two payments – one for $1,196 CAN on October 22, 2019 and the second for $2,791 CAN on February 19, 2020. The trip was scheduled to start on September 1, 2020. COVID and the resulting closure of the Canadian border made the trip impossible. Authentik agreed to extend the trip to September of 2021 but for an additional $400 CAN. This additional amount was due July 18, 2021. I never paid the additional amount because in June 2021 PM Trudeau announced that the border closure because of COVID was being extended at least into July and probably longer. That meant that the probability of trip occurring was highly unlikely. Authentik agreed to cancel the trip but they would refund me only $3,389 CAN leaving $598. Authentik told me that I would have to pursue reimbursement of the $598 with the Canadian Compensation Fund for Customers of Travel Agents. At the time of making their suggestion of petitioning CFCTA, Authentik reps knew that the form for doing so required the affirmation of a Canadian Commissioner of Oaths, which is impossible for a US citizen to obtain under the current COVID border closure. I even tried to get assistance from the Canadian Consulate in Denver to no avail. The $598 represents 15% of the original $3987, which Authentik pointed out to me was better than 30% they could keep under the terms of the original contract BEFORE COVID hit. In other words, they were doing me a big favor by taking only 15% for no services. Now, the problem with this attitude by Authentik is that I had three other trips planned for the same year with four providers and when COVID hit, these other trip providers gave full refunds, because they realized the special circumstances presented by COVID and they did the honorable things by refunding the full payments made to them. Authentik did not. In addition, the trip to the Banff area was planned to be a camper van trip with stays at various campgrounds. Authentik did a poor job of selecting campgrounds and campsites. I had to give them instructions which they failed to meet because they were late in making reservations.

Booked the trip Nous, vous, les Iles. Naomie, our travel agent was most helpfull and available to plan the trip that would meet our expectations. The whole process was flawless, from booking to help during our travels (we faced some challenges with our ferry to Iles de la Madeleine) to the end where we were invited to post comment on every step of the trip and planned activities booked with Authentik. Book with Authentik and book with peace of mind that your trip will be the best there is! PS We already planned a second trip with them :)

Coming from the UK I had never heard of Authentik before, compared to other UK North American travel specialists they were so much cheaper that I was sceptical. Especially as there weren't many English reviews for me to go by. I needn't have been. Every part of the journey was made so easy by using their website. I could book hotels, cars and activities, and all much cheaper than using UK sites. It made so much more sense to use them then instead of going through the hassle of making individual bookings. Planning a Canada road trip can be daunting due to the size of the country and lack of familiarity but using them was as "plug and play" as it can get. The platform gives you ideas of Canada holiday plans, what to do in each location etc. All I had to do was drive to the location or turn up to the activity. The hotels were great and the activities awesome.I wish I had found them earlier! So thanks Authentik, je me souviens!

We never drove an RV before, but that was something we wanted to do for a long time. And it’s so fun, driving in this country is easy, even with a long motorhome. Camping in the middle of the woods, near a river … No need to pack in and out every evening/morning in a hotel, it’s cozy and the perfect solution when travelling with a baby. I definitely recommend the rental company Authentik Canada. Their service was all you could wish for. The camper was very modern, everything you need is in there. Kitchen, bed (damn we slept well..), shower, coach,.. One day we might even buy one ourselves … 😊 The campers of Authentik Canada have slide outs, it means that when you’re on the campsite the side can slide out so you have more room inside, which is extremely comfortable and a big overall bonus … There are different types of campers, from small (2p) to very big (7p). We’ve picked up the camper in Vancouver and dropped it off in Calgary, very useful! Off course a round trip is also possible, which is cheaper. The camper as you can see is from Canadream, but renting with authentik Canada (as a 2nd party) is cheaper than direct with Canadream or any other rental company..

Excellent organisation with a view to detail. Thorough knowledge of accommodation. Roadbook gives ideas of what to do and what to eat. They even programmed all our destinations in the Sat navigation for us! No hesitation in recommending them. We'very been with them twice.

Disastrous Car Rental Experience: Misleading Charges and Unhelpful Customer Service, Inestimable Loss of Time, and a $207 Financial Scam at Avis via Authentik Canada - Far From Authentic! I requested a reservation change from July 27th to 30th, adding an extra day until July 31st. They sent an email stating the price would increase from $440 to $517, a difference of $77. However, upon arrival, the reservation hadn't been modified, and they wanted to charge me $130 for the additional day, double the agreed price! They also added a $60 charge for an extra driver (my brother) despite the website stating it was free for drivers sharing the same address. I ended up paying 284$ instead of 77$ a big difference of 207$-that is a scam! When I called to fix the reservation, I spent 30 minutes begging the agent to help, but she claimed she couldn't because I didn't give a second approval, even though I initiated the change. Their customer service was ridiculous! The agent wasted my time, and the 30 minutes were deducted from my rental return time, resulting in an extra charge since I planned to return at 10:30. I ended up paying 284$ instead of 77$ a big difference of 207$-that is a scam! This experience was a nightmare, and I'm deeply disappointed with their unprofessionalism and terrible customer service. I won't recommend their services and will look for better options for future car rentals." Beware of Hidden Fees and Avoid at All Costs!

We (family with 2 children) want to go back to Canada as soon as possible. What did we like most? Parc du Bic, Parc Forillon, Perce, Parc Nature de Pointe-aux-Outardes, Fjord du Saguenay, Haut-Mauricie, etc. ? It's nearly impossible to take a decision, we didn't want to miss anything. My experience with Authentik Canada has been nothing short of a huge disappointment. After booking a trip with them for 2020 and Authentik Canada being the only company out of a two month trip that was not willing to refund during the pandemic we had no choice but to retain our credit and use it to rebook our holiday in 2022. We booked a hire car. The paper work sent through had the incorrect names of drivers for the vehicle listed I requested this be changed at the time and was assured that this would not affect the booking and can be sorted out by the Hire car Company (Thrifty) on collection. When we arrived at Thrifty we were very promptly told that they could not help us and we would not be able to take our car until Authentik Canada amended the booking to include the correct names. I phoned to have this corrected and was told that they could not make an amendment without cancelling the booking and rebooking the trip, and there was now no vehicles available for rebooking. This is the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. We were lucky that Thrifty made an exception and altered the booking, this is against their policy because we booked through a third party. Please consider looking elsewhere when planning your next holiday. No one wants to experience an issue whilst on holidays but knowing that this company will do nothing to help when you experience a problem caused by their own incompetence is beyond a joke.
