The zoo has an impressive collection of animals and they also appear to be well taken care of. Only problem is that the zoo still is going through the build process and much of the infrastructure is still missing. No restaurants or snacks available, although some drink machines are scattered. Most of the walkways are still unpaved. No other activities are offered at the zoo, just walk around to see the animals. Expect 1-2 hours depending on how fast you want to go through. Its important to note that there are also other options at the complex like water slides, inflatables, etc..but those are a short walk away outside of the zoo.

Great place for a family outing or if you like to visit zoos. It has a variety of animals. Big free parking space. Location is well inland, through the small country roads. Price is well worth it and affordable. Not a lot to walk as the pens are located near one another. About 1.5 to 2 hours to complete the whole circuit.

Great place to go with kids. The staff is super nice and explains what’s happening around you and is always there to answer any question you or the kids might have.

Incredible. We went with the vip experience. We were guided by the biologist of the place to all of the animals as she talked about them and their stories, and we're allowed "behind the scenes" to visit some of the animals and feed them by hand, pet some of them, saw how their food was processed, I mean we really got to understand how this place works. It is mainly a shelter for animals, one of them being endangered so they're protecting them while they reproduce to save the specie. They really care about this place and it shows. Highly recommend the vip experience.

The zoo is nice - good variety of animals to see. This is a rescue centre meaning a lot of these are animals that were rescued from difficult situations. The Siberian tiger and the lion ad highlights. Given it was early winter and a weekday, the place was empty and we had the whole area to ourselves to look around. What it also meant is - the ice lolly shop inside and other options for a light eat or hot beverage were closed. I would have given a 5 if the gift shop had some options for hot beverage or some workable eating options - the nearest place for food is a Tim Hortons.

2 hours walk.. Tickets are reasonable. My kids are 2&3. They didn't get attracted or involved much. I don't recommend for young kids. Toilets are very dirty. No water no snacks available only drinks vending machines at two places. Good things are.... they have number of animals kangaroo, white and grey wolf, crocodile, eagle, owl, many lions, tigers.. for this price its best deal.... I suggest using the benches placed near lions area for eating food. Stroller or a cart is must to carry kids and stuff.

We went in the end of September on a weekday. It was quite empty. It's very expensive. No place to eat. You have to pay to use the Wi-Fi which I think it's unbelievable these days. Staff were not very friendly, driving the buggy too fast in the around the zoo and not being very careful with people walking around.

Great family activity, but some enclosures are much too small: the eagle, the flamingos, the alligator, and the tapir in particular. It's pitiful... it makes no sense that an alligator's habitat is as big as that of 2 miniature otters. It says stroller accessible, but the baby carrier would be better because there are lots of holes, muddy areas, and sometimes high door thresholds. (Ex: the release of reptiles) On the other hand, children don't see these things so they loved the place.

Familizoo in the Complex Atlantide in Saint Calixte is an amazing place for all. The zoo takes about two hours to walk through. The terrain is uphill and pretty rustic, so wear comfortable shoes, or you can rent a golf cart for one hundred dollars for the day. It's totally worth getting the golf cart, especially if you're going to do the other activities because the site is very big. Although they have a shuttle bus going around the complex, we always managed to miss it, lol. They have water parks, water slides, and a wave pool. They also have a huge bouncy castle section. Skate park, BMX trail, baseball field, mini golf, arcades, haunted house, a castle, a theater, the list goes on and on... they also have a huge stage for outside concerts. You can stay for the summer in your rv or stay for the night in their hotel made of glass and sleep with the lions. There is a small dépanneur, a candy store, a souvenir shop, and a fast food restaurant that is actually reasonably priced considering. We will definitely be going back next summer since both my teen and my toddler loved it. It's definitely a family-friendly place to spend the day or the whole summer.

Very run down… animals are all in small dirty enclosures, without any natural features of their normal environment. The worst part is their emotional and mental health. Most don’t even have trees or shade. You can feel the depression in the air and see the sadness in their eyes. There are inappropriate decorations of drunk animals in car accidents. The cleanliness for humans is also bad. No trash cans, garbage is everywhere. You can tell that they are not reinvesting the money for the animals or to renew the park. All the decorations are falling apart, same with the animal enclosures. We had to wait forever to get a ticket and the staff seemed very unorganized and overwhelmed with the 5 people waiting in line that soon grew to many families trying to get tickets. The place also isn’t wheelchair or mobility aid accessable. I do not recommend coming here at all, it should be shut down and the animals laid to pasture. The kids did not enjoy it either and we all left feeling depressed and sad that humans could be so cruel. This place is 100% animal cruelty and looks very amateur, which makes us question if they actually take care of the animals, or if the staff have proper training in the care for the variety of animals present. You will wonder the same once you see how they keep the alligators…. Very sad. We did not see any caretakers for the animals while we visited, compared to the Vancouver Zoo where you are constantly seeing professional caretakers with years of training in handling animals safely.

We tried all zoos in the greater Montreal area, including Granby, Safari, Omega and familizoo is by far the best in the on animals selection, ease of access and walkthrough

I love how everyone working there really loves the animals. The connection they have with them is amazing. I appreciate that its not your typical zoo, but a refuge!

Incredible variety of animals. Many of them rescued. It's really impressive how close we can be of them and feed.

Well, not visually impressive like the Gramby Zoo but they house animals that cannot be released into the wild. I haven't tried sleeping with the lions there yet. The tour takes more or less 1h30 with young children.

ZOO: Very mixed feelings. On one hand, the zoo seems like a good place where animals have been rescued and saved. But on the other hand, some enclosures are clearly not big enough, clean or suited for wild animals. Having wild animals next to bouncy castles where loud music plays all day is just detrimental. WATER PARK: Overall nice. Good sitting areas. Parking is a bit far but expected. Wish the bigger water slides and wave pool was not so far from the other facilities as we unfortunately didn't get to enjoy that side of the park.

If you go to Atlantide, you need to see the zoo. You get close and personal with animals even the big cats. Fun to play with them

A good place for kids. You can spend your entire day with your family or friends. There's so many activities like zoo, water parks, and magic castles.

Pretty amazing for a small zoo. The animals are well treated and the family enjoys well, seeing and interacting with different types of creatures. Recommended for a day trip with the kids.

Zoo was nice for kids and adults. Lots of animals...the haunted house was pretty epic. Best and scrariest I've been too and I've been to a lot. haunted house is definitely not for kids.

My 2 year old son loved the water park the most. But he really enjoyed the tigers. The price is reasonable for what you get. Although a couple of the animals are hard to see, but you can't humanly keep the animals from hiding without taking away their habitat, so it's understandable. There's animals that are inside and you can look through the windows, but we can't see anything. Perfect activity for small children

It was far but worth it if you like long rides and nature. Lots of animals to check. My first time to see a bear up close :). I suggest you bring your food or snacks and drinks so you can have a little break. They have some benches in some corners. Pls don't forget your sunblock if you go there in the summer.

By looking at the map and the number of animals, we thought 2 hours walking would be enough. Actually we did more than 3 hours, nonstop. Each animal takes huge spaces, and they interact with human much more with human than a usual zoo. One of examples, the monkeys came to the window and put hands on the glasses when we stood there.

Hidden gem! One of the best zoos we've visited. Animals are treated humanely and there's such a variety. Bring good boots if visiting off season. It gets muddy.

very negative experience , staff is definitely not qualified to work with the public. Save your time and money and go visit a real zoo/amusement park.

I went last summer with my family, and we all had a great time. It’s not too crowded, and even the animals seem to be having a great time. When I went it was warm, and so the picnic tables were greatly appreciated. I definitely recommend to go with your friends and family.

The family had a great experience at Familyzoo. Definitely recommend buying tickets online as it made our check-in easy. The park is pretty big with lots of animals. Great for young children. You can buy some food for some of the friendlier animals and feed them. They have so many lions! Large park with lots to see.

  • 5/5 Sofya K. 2 years ago on Google
Just wow!!!!! Must visit! Imagine you can see a kangaroo in 40 min from Montreal! The are so many animals to see! Plus a lot of them were saved from “bad places” and bad people. Too bad I don’t have pictures just videos and I can’t add them to this review!

Beautiful zoo and beautiful animals. I can't wait to come back for another visit. Bring a good pair of shoes, the paths are mostly large gravel.

Kids got connected to the nature, we were away from city’s crowdedness. Zoo, water activities, campfire , amazing experience. Alhumdullah 😊
